[Wuxia] Long Hui's Male Concubine (Complete) - 26

Chapter Fifteen: A Deadly Battle of Attack and Defense

"Report! The Poison Fangs have returned to the city to report."

A messenger rushed in, reporting the military situation.

Long Hui immediately summoned, "Quickly, invite them in!"

The messenger responded and withdrew. After a moment, a woman with a slender waist walked into the tent. Her once beautiful face was now marred by several shocking scars.

Chu Wanbing's face paled, and she hurriedly asked, "Aunt Teng, what's wrong?"

Teng Ji sighed, "I led my men to Su Ming to raid their grain supplies, but we fell into an enemy ambush. They hid explosives in the granary, and Poison Fang suffered more than half its losses."

Long Hui was shocked and stood up abruptly, his face extremely gloomy. He paced back and forth in the tent, thinking, "I ordered Poison Fang to raid from Jinling, yet the enemy still managed to predict it. Could it be that they really have some kind of super hearing?"

But then he thought it was absurd. The most urgent task was to conduct a thorough sweep of all the cities and counties to find the enemy's spies.

Long Hui said, "Elder Teng Ji, you've worked hard. This defeat was due to my oversight. I'm ashamed before all the soldiers. Elder, please go and heal your wounds."

Aunt Teng replied with a "Yes," and then withdrew.

Chu Wanbing whispered, "Husband, now that the ultimate artifact is destroyed, the formation will inevitably have flaws. However, Daoist Jingchen is currently unconscious, and the formation is left unattended. The most urgent matter is to invite Master Hongjun to lead the formation."

Long Hui nodded and immediately ordered the Sparrow Shadows to invite Hongjun.

Not long after Teng Ji withdrew, Hongjun arrived swiftly, pulled by a dragon. As soon as he entered, he asked, "General, what is the situation?"

Long Hui sighed, and Feng Wangchen gave a brief account of the events. Upon hearing that Jingchen was injured, Hongjun's face darkened, and he looked deeply worried.

Long Hui said, "Sect Leader, there's no need to worry. Although the Daoist's injuries are severe, they haven't damaged his foundation. He'll recover after a period of rest, and the Sect Master is also looking after him."

Hongjun was relieved and said, "According to Strategist Feng, the Ultimate Yuan Artifact has been destroyed. When I entered the city, I also felt that the Yuan Qi within the city was extremely chaotic. I'm afraid that within a hundred miles of Muzhou, the protection of the formation has been lost." Long Hui asked, "What about the other cities?"

Hongjun said, "The Ultimate Yuan Artifact only serves to regulate the Yuan Qi of the formation. The key is still the formation eye. As long as the formation eye is not destroyed, the formation can operate, and the other cities will not be affected. Although Muzhou has lost the Ultimate Yuan Artifact, it can still function as a link between the Twelve Earthly Branches."

Feng Wangchen said, "Without the protection of the formation, the military strength of Muzhou alone is really difficult to resist the enemy. Since the formation is unaffected..." "Xiang, should our army abandon the city?"

Hongjun shook his head and said, "I'm afraid that's not advisable. The enemy has a formation master like Zihe. If we hand over Muzhou to the enemy, Zihe might be able to deduce the key to the formation from the geomantic veins of Muzhou."

Longhui understood the meaning of these words and nodded, "What the sect leader said is very true. If we lose Muzhou, it's the same as handing over our strengths and weaknesses to the enemy. So we can't lose Muzhou!"

Feng Wangchen said, "According to what the Dragon Lord said, the enemy has probably also figured out the secret. They may have already begun to gather a large army to attack Muzhou."

Longhui nodded and said, "Indeed, if I'm not mistaken, the enemy is going to use a gradual encroachment method to devour our army step by step. So Muzhou is the first target. Under these circumstances, our army not only cannot retreat, but must also cripple the enemy!"

Everyone responded with a "yes."

Long Hui then issued a secret order: "Pass on my secret command. From this moment on, no one is allowed to mention anything related to the Extreme Yuan Artifacts and the array's core, not even to themselves. Anyone who violates this order will be executed! I want to eliminate any possibility of the enemy eavesdropping!"

Chu Wanbing then said, "Husband, I have a plan. Since the enemy has repeatedly succeeded in their schemes against our army, they have become somewhat complacent. Therefore, I would like to ask Mother and Aunt Lu to carry out a decapitation strike."

The combined forces of Luan and Feng are indeed invincible, but Long Hui felt something was amiss. Why was this girl addressing Lu Mingluan so politely?

Sparrow Shadow scouts reported that five armies were approaching Su Ming, totaling 100,000 men, and their strength was still increasing.

Long Hui frowned and said, "The Aoniao tribe will immediately patrol the skies and monitor the enemy's movements."

Upon hearing this, Chu Wanbing immediately relayed the order to the Aoniao tribe's experts. Bird shadows flew across Jiangnan, and the news they brought back was equally alarming—the enemy's forces gathered in Su Ming had exceeded 150,000.

Long Hui then summoned Teng Ji, who was recuperating, and asked her to use snakes and insects to spy on the enemy's movements.

After more than half an hour, Teng Ji reported, "Dragon Lord, the enemy has indeed combined a large force in Suming."

Long Hui said, "Their actions clearly indicate that they intend to take Muzhou by force. Are there any other large armies targeting our other cities?"

Teng Ji shook her head and said, "There is no indication of that."

Hongjun said, "Currently, only Muzhou has lost the protection of the formation. The other cities are still protected by Xuan Tong. With Zi He's abilities and eyesight, he shouldn't be unaware of this. The enemy intends to fight us in Muzhou."

Long Hui pondered for a moment and said, "Although the enemy doesn't seem to be targeting other cities, we must guard against their sneak attacks. Therefore, our army cannot mobilize all its forces. Military Advisor Feng, please consider how many troops our army can mobilize."

After a New Year's rest and the arrival of new forces from Liaodong, Long Hui's total force was 100,000 men, but they were all dispersed to various cities for defense, so it didn't seem abundant. Compared to Cang Shitian, it was like a small fry compared to a big fish.

Feng Wangchen pondered for a moment, then gently waved his feather fan and said, "At most, we can only mobilize 40,000 men. Adding the troops from Muzhou, we'll only have a little over 50,000 available."

Long Hui immediately issued a troop mobilization order. Upon receiving the order, the garrison commanders of each city quickly mobilized their troops, which traveled downstream by water and arrived in Muzhou by evening.

Meanwhile, the Sparrow Shadow unit tirelessly relayed messages back and forth. The enemy's numbers were steadily increasing; by the time Long Hui's troops had gathered, Su Ming's forces had reached 200,000.

Although Muzhou was a fortified city with high walls, the disparity in troop strength was simply too great, and everyone in the command tent frowned deeply.

Yu Xiuting suddenly spoke up, "How did they manage to gather such a large force in such a short time?"

Long Hui replied, "An army marches on its stomach, but they only began large-scale troop movements today. Their supplies must not have arrived yet. Judging from their posture, they seem eager to engage in a decisive battle with our army."

Hongjun said, "If I'm not mistaken, Zihe is afraid that our army is repairing the Extreme Yuan Artifact, which is why they are launching such a desperate attack."

Long Hui asked, "How long does it take for you to repair the Extreme Yuan Artifact, Daoist?"

Hongjun sighed, "The Extreme Yuan Artifact is neither particularly difficult nor easy to repair. When the Extreme Yuan Artifact is damaged, the internal energy begins to become disordered. In addition, it is tied to a specific time, so there will be a new, specific time. As long as we can find this time, we can..." "With constant spell repairs, the Extreme Yuan will recover quickly. Zihe is a master of formations, and he must have anticipated this variable."

Yu Xiuting said, "According to what Master Hongjun said, our army is not entirely at a disadvantage. The enemy is also worried about the Twelve Earthly Branches Formation restarting."

Long Hui nodded and said, "That's right. So, in the next battle, in addition to withstanding the enemy's main force attack head-on, we also need a surprise force to penetrate deep behind enemy lines and intercept all the grain supplies that have not yet been transported to Suming, thus disrupting their morale."

Long Hui thought for a moment and said, "This surprise force must be highly skilled to penetrate deep into enemy lines, so I would like to ask the experts of the three sects for assistance."

At this time, Jieyin and Zhunti said, "This humble monk is willing to go."

Meng Ke also stepped forward and said, "Ziyu is also willing to go."

Hongjun was not on this trip because he had to undertake the important task of repairing the Extreme Yuan artifact.

Long Hui pointed to the map and said, "There are two grain transport routes behind Su Ming, and both routes are guarded by troops, making them difficult to enter by ordinary means. However, each route has a secret shortcut. Thirty miles east of Su Ming is Langyue Gorge, which is rarely visited and leads directly to the grain route. To the west is Wofo Ridge. Three hundred paces to the left of Wofo Ridge is a secluded path that can bypass the garrison and directly reach the grain route."

Even the locals might not know about these two places; the information was obtained from the marching map left by the King of Qi.

Everyone agreed, and then they arranged the personnel for these two surprise attacks. The secluded path at Wofo Ridge was remote and hidden, with minimal danger, so Meng Ke, Jieyin, and Zhunti were in charge. As for Langyue Gorge, Yuan Qitian and Xianhuo were chosen.

Furthermore, following Chu Wanbing's suggestion, Luo Qingyan and Lu Mingluan were to infiltrate the enemy camp to assassinate Qiu Baifei and Zhang Huanyu. It was assumed that Lu Mingluan's Soul-Stealing Technique would be sufficient to locate the two enemy commanders.

At this moment, Wei Jianming spoke up, "Brother-in-law, everyone has something to do, what about me?"

Wei Xuexin said, "Jianming, don't be a troublemaker, don't cause trouble for your brother-in-law."

Wei Jianming, his face tense, gritted his teeth and said, "I'm not a child anymore, I want to join the war!"

Long Hui said, "Tomorrow you'll join the main force to defend the city."

Wei Jianming said, "Brother-in-law..." Yu

Xiuting coldly said, "No relatives are allowed in the military camp, call him Commander!"

Wei Jianming pouted and said, "Commander, Jianming volunteers to go to Wofo Ridge, please grant me permission."

His brother-in-law seemed eager to make a name for himself. Long Hui was slightly taken aback, somewhat embarrassed, and cast an inquiring glance at Yu Xiuting.

Yu Xiuting pondered, "Jianming has grown up; it's time to let go."

She nodded.

Long Hui said, "Alright, Jianming, you will accompany the army to Wofo Ridge, but you must listen to Brother Meng and the two masters in all matters."

Wei Jianming happily said, "Brother-in-law... no, Commander-in-law, Jianming will certainly live up to your expectations!"

Long Hui arranged the troops, saying, "In tomorrow's battle, the enemy will definitely attack from the southeast, west, and north. The east will be defended by the elite demon race, the west by the Heavenly Sword Valley sword formation combined with the Dragon Scale Army cavalry as the main force, supplemented by 5,000 infantry and cavalry. As for the south, it will definitely be the enemy's main attack route, so I don't plan to continue hiding those powerful weapons." "annihilate their fighting force before they even realize it."

The next morning, war drums thundered. Long Hui climbed to a high place and looked out at the distant battle formation. He saw a dark mass of figures approaching on the horizon, stirring up a huge cloud of dust. In the midst of the magnificent army formation, an iron tower stood out. The tower was more than three zhang tall, with eight large iron wheels at its base. Instead of being pulled by any animals, it was powered by heat from Confucian oil incinerators installed inside. Five people stood on the top of the tower: Zhang Huanyu, Qiu Baifei, Shen Yuan, Yin Fangxi, and Jin Ziyi.

Long Hui chatted and laughed with the generals around him, saying, "These few scoundrels think they can see as far as others just because they're standing on high ground."

Chu Wanbing chimed in with a laugh, "The art of war says, 'Surround them when you have ten times their strength, attack them when you have five.' They only outnumber us four to one, so they're stuck

in the middle, which is really awkward!" The earth trembled slightly. Looking closely, they saw ten thousand silver-armored cavalry vanguard charging from the south. They were covered in heavy armor, and even their warhorses were covered in gleaming iron plates. It was truly a magnificent sight of silver armor and flying banners.

Long Hui said, "Those are the famous heavy cavalry of the Western Regions. Because of their heavy loads, they lack agility and their individual combat ability is not very strong. However, once they form a formation, they are invincible and can easily crush the enemy."

Chu Wanbing frowned slightly and said, "Judging from their posture, it seems they want to destroy the defenses near the beacon tower."

Long Hui nodded and said, "Indeed, the enemy must have powerful siege weapons in their ranks. If they get close to the city, our losses will be extremely heavy. We must try to annihilate as much of the enemy's manpower as possible on the outer perimeter."

Various defensive fortifications were set up near the beacon tower, including horse stables, crossbow towers, cannon emplacements, and knife pits, arranged in an orderly manner and containing hidden celestial mysteries. These were the defensive fortifications designed by Lu Mingluan.

Seeing the silver-armored cavalry pressing in, the soldiers of the beacon tower immediately responded. One hundred musketeers took the lead and set out, one hundred muskets aimed at the enemy horses. As soon as the silver-armored cavalry entered the firing range, they opened fire. Fireballs flew, shooting the horses first, killing the men.

Unexpectedly, the silver armor was incredibly tough and thick; even the fireballs only managed to leave a dent. Seeing this, the beacon tower garrison immediately ordered a halt to firing and deployed traps to block the enemy.

Just as they were about to enter the range of the knife-pit traps, the front ranks of the silver-armored cavalry suddenly split apart, and a light cavalry unit charged out. The mounted knights laid thick wooden planks on the ground, filling in the knife-pit traps. The main force continued its advance without slowing down.

The garrison commander's face darkened, and he roared, "Fire! Blow these iron lumps to death!"

Several powerful cannons roared, and just as the shells were about to fall, the front-ranking cavalry immediately raised their shields. A flash of silver light appeared, and a supernatural power materialized, forming a protective wall. The cannonballs could not penetrate within a ten-step radius. It turned out that this silver armor was forged from luminous ore, essentially transferring the Four-Dimensional Demon-Suppressing Realm onto the cavalry.

The garrison commander's face changed drastically. He cursed the strangeness of the enemy's armor, which was so ingenious that firearms could not damage it. He thought that subsequent crossbow bolts and steel spikes would also be ineffective. Just when he was at his wit's end, a messenger rode up

and shouted, "General Long has ordered that the soldiers at the beacon tower immediately destroy their firearms and withdraw!" Upon hearing this, the garrison commander immediately ordered his men to place explosives. Several loud bangs followed, thick smoke billowed, and dust swirled. However, the silver-armored cavalry remained standing and continued to advance steadily, crushing the beacon tower's defenses like an iron fortress.

On the city wall, Chu Wanbing's expression darkened slightly. She scoffed, "There are ten thousand silver-armored cavalry. I refuse to believe they're all equipped with armor made of luminous minerals!"

After most of the silver-armored cavalry had crossed the beacon tower, she raised her hand, her command flag waving. Suddenly, the ground collapsed, and scorpion tails as thick as bowls shot out from the earth. Although the warhorses were fully armored, their bellies were unarmored, giving the scorpion warriors an opportunity. A single scorpion pierced the horse's belly, causing both rider and horse to fall. The greatest strength of heavy cavalry lies in their formation, but so does their weakness. Once chaos erupts within the formation, the rear cavalry cannot stop their momentum and may even trample their comrades in the disarray.

However, the scorpion warriors numbered only a little over a hundred, playing a negligible role in this massive formation of ten thousand. The rear troops showed no mercy to the fallen cavalry, trampling them to death, even at the cost of their own lives, to maintain the integrity of the formation.

Seeing this, Chu Wanbing used her Phoenix Divine Power, spreading her wings and soaring into the air, issuing the order: "Scorpion Turtle—Change formation!" The demon general Scorpion Turtle, underground, received the demon queen's order and incited his demons to gather scorpion venom. Their scorpion tails lashed out again, this time not to kill the enemy, but only to wound the enemy's warhorses. The warhorses, their defenses weakened, were immediately struck. The extremely vicious demonic poison dissolved instantly upon entering the blood. The warhorses neighed in agony, their bones turning to liquid in an instant, becoming pools of flesh, a gruesome sight.

This poison, called Bone-Melting Blood, grows wherever it touches blood, continuously melting the bones of living beings and remaining within the host's flesh. Anyone who touched the corpse would also be poisoned. As a result, the once orderly and fierce heavy cavalry immediately fell into chaos. The poison spread rapidly, from one to ten, from ten to a hundred, and within moments, a thousand vanguard cavalrymen were wiped out.

The follow-up troops had no choice but to painfully abandon their comrades, splitting into left and right flanks to bypass the pools of flesh and continue their march.

Although the Bone-Melting Blood Technique was powerful, it was forged from demonic energy, leaving the user weakened after use. Chu Wanbing, unwilling to risk her subordinates further, ordered Xie'ao and her followers to escape using earth-遁 (earth-遁 is a type of magic or technique) before the enemy could retaliate.

After wiping out the vanguard heavy cavalry clad in shimmering mineral armor, Chu Wanbing summoned the Proud Bird Clan

, unleashing a barrage of Sky-Splitting Arrows that bombarded the iron lumps on the ground. After several explosions, a sharp shout rang out: "Witch, cease your arrogance!" Before the words were even finished, dozens of fire arrows shot towards her. Chu Wanbing was the first to be hit, surrounded by five or six arrows, but she calmly drew her Phoenix-Scented Sword to deflect the arrows. However, several Proud Bird Clan soldiers were struck and fell.

Chu Wanbing was filled with grief and indignation. Looking around, she saw a flock of eagles soaring overhead, each carrying a Confucian archery disciple, led by Feng Yi, the archery deacon.

Chu Wanbing scoffed, "Trying to ride a flying beast right in front of me? You're courting death!"

With a sharp cry, she unleashed her true demonic form, causing a surge of colorful clouds and a phoenix spreading its wings.

Under the phoenix's oppressive power, all birds should have submitted, yet the eagles in the opposing formation remained unmoved, continuing their flight.

Chu Wanbing was greatly surprised. She recalled the battle in Fengdu, where even ferocious birds like the Ghost Chariot Bird trembled in fear before the phoenix's incarnation, yet these ordinary birds, the eagles, showed no fear.

Chu Wanbing remained calm despite her surprise, ordering the Proud Bird Clan to hold their positions and assess the enemy's strength.

Her alluring eyes focused, and upon closer inspection, Chu Wanbing noticed faint halos appearing on the eagles' foreheads, these halos seemingly forming a talisman.

"So it was these few scribbles that caused this trouble!"

Chu Wanbing snorted, pointing at the enemy formation and shouting, "Where did this meddlesome Taoist come from!"

A crane flew out from the eagle formation, Purple Crane sitting on its back, laughing heartily, "Little Demon Queen, you truly have your mother's style, seeing through the trick at a glance."

Chu Wanbing said, "You stinking Taoist, did you draw these talismans?"

Purple Crane nodded, "Indeed, the might of the phoenix is feared by all birds, so I simply sealed the spirits of these eagles with talismans. In their eyes, they only see the constant attacking of their opponents, thus eliminating the influence of your phoenix bloodline."

Chu Wanbing cursed the cunning Taoist in her heart, then slashed out with her sword. Phoenix Fire Sword Qi swept towards the enemy eagle formation from a distance. Feng Yi and Purple Crane joined forces to block, each using a move to deflect the Phoenix Fire Sword Qi three feet away.

Chu Wanbing said, "Elder Qu Hu, immediately lead the army to break through the enemy's eagle formation!"

Qu Hu responded with a "Yes," spread his wings, and swooped down. With a flap of his two giant wings, countless feathers shot out. This was the Ao Niao Clan's aerial combat technique—Thousand Feather Thrust. Ordinary Ao Niao birds could only hit the target three hundred paces at most with this move, but Qu Hu could shoot it five hundred paces away. Still relying on your hands? How can that be satisfying? . Seeing the enemy commander make a move, Feng Yi immediately grabbed a Fire Spirit Arrow to retaliate. Under his true energy, the Fire Spirit Arrow immediately turned into countless fragments, and these fragments just happened to form a fire net, blocking Qu Hu's ultimate move.

"To catch the thief, first catch the king." Qu Hu held off Feng Yi, while Chu Wanbing immediately attacked Zihe. Feng Yan spat out her sword, unleashing the Six Phases of the Clouds. This divine power was even more powerful when used in the air. The surrounding clouds, drawn by demonic energy, instantly transformed into six fierce birds. Each bird was formed from a combination of sword energy and cloud energy, possessing both the agility of a bird and the sharpness of a sword.

Zihe knew she couldn't defeat him with force, so she used softness to overcome hardness, avoiding the strong and attacking the weak. Her Taoist magic created illusory clouds, and she used the art of escape to ride a crane high into the sky, instantly disappearing into the clouds, rendering Chu Wanbing's sword attack ineffective.

"Coward!"

Chu Wanbing's eyebrows furrowed in anger as she cursed. She then unleashed her primordial power again, sweeping her sword horizontally. A huge sword beam cleaved into the clouds, its immense power scattering the clouds and forcing out Zihe's true form.

"You wicked Taoist, prepare to die!"

Chu Wanbing pressed her advantage, unleashing her Eight-Armed Ape Hand, instantly transforming clouds into sharp swords to force Zihe to his death.

Zihe cursed, "A vengeful spirit haunts me!" With her left hand, she drew a demon-repelling incantation, and with her right, she wrote a demon-subduing talisman. These two basic talismans intertwined, forming a new spell that coalesced into a cloud-sea illusion array, completely blocking the sharp edge of the demonic sword.

Chu Wanbing thought to herself, "This wicked Taoist is indeed quite skilled; he truly deserves to be called an expert in array formations."

After testing her moves a few times, Chu Wanbing changed her tactics, shifting from a fierce offensive to a half-offensive, half-defensive approach. She withdrew her sword slightly, daring to dart and weave, searching for her opponent's weaknesses.

Knowing the Little Demon Queen's capabilities, Zihe dared not be careless. He unleashed his knowledge, absorbing the power of the Xuanhuang (mysterious yellow) energy, writing talismans and incantations, summoning a thunderbolt to counterattack Chu Wanbing.

Chu Wanbing's sword moved smoothly, first receiving the attack and then drawing it back. She used the Yuan Sword Technique to draw away the power of the thunderbolt, adding her own Yuan energy, and returned the sword to her opponent.

Seeing this, Zihe activated the Cloud Sea Illusionary Heaven Formation to block the sword energy. With a bang, both Zihe and the crane were blasted away. Fortunately, the crane was extraordinary and kept flapping its wings to stabilize itself while it was off balance, barely managing to hold its ground.

Chu Wanbing snorted, "You thieving Taoist, use whatever tricks you have, I'll take them all!"

"Witch, stop your arrogance! Behold my Four Symbols Spirit Venerable Formation!"

Zihe's eyebrows furrowed in anger. She bit her tongue, using her blood as a catalyst. The surrounding clouds instantly turned crimson, and with several crackling sounds, the clouds changed again, becoming dark and dense. The heavenly lightning transformed into a giant god, wearing a white tiger helmet and plain silver armor. He opened his palm and threw several bolts of lightning as thick as buckets at Chu Wanbing. This was the Thunderous Fiery Spirit Venerable of the Four Symbols Spiritual Technique.

Chu Wanbing countered each move, first using her demonic energy to protect her meridians, then using the Phoenix Beauty Sword's flexibility to draw in the electric current, thus deflecting the force of the attack.

Purple Crane took flight, chanting incantations and unleashing another barrage of attacks. A fireball rained down from the sky, revealing yet another celestial being incarnate. This deity wore a Vermilion Bird mask and a crimson-feathered golden belt; he was the Fiery Cloud World-Burning Spirit Lord of the Four Symbols.

Chu Wanbing, possessing the bloodline of the Phoenix, was immune to all fire-based attacks unless faced with an opponent far superior to her. Facing the Fiery Cloud Spirit Lord, she roared, and phoenix spirit fire surged and surged back, engulfing the Fiery Cloud Spirit Lord. Instantly, the phoenix seized the Vermilion Bird, and the Demoness's Daoist magic was broken.

Zihe cast another spell, and instantly, sweet dew rained down from the sky. The water vapor transformed into another deity, wearing a Xuanwu hat and carrying a ten-thousand-year-old shell on his back—the Water Profound Inexhaustible Spirit Venerable appeared. Chu Wanbing giggled and used her Serpent Body Technique to circle around the Water Wave Spirit Venerable, fighting and maneuvering. At the same time, she secretly channeled her Ice Marrow Energy. After several rounds, the water element was frozen by the cold energy, and the Water Wave Spirit Venerable could hardly move. Chu Wanbing casually chopped, and the spirit shattered.

The three spirit venerables of thunder, fire, and water were unable to gain the upper hand, so Zihe summoned the last spirit venerable—the Wind-Wandering Unpredictable Spirit Venerable. The pressure surged dramatically, and Chu Wanbing felt her blood and energy suddenly depleted, as if it were being drained away. She immediately activated her Yuan Gong to stabilize her Qi and resist the surrounding turbulent pressure.

Zihe initially gained the upper hand, unleashing his full magical power. The howling wind made it difficult for even the proudest birds and eagles to approach. The wind force condensed and materialized, and the Wind Spirit Venerable's form multiplied. This Wind Spirit Venerable, crowned with a dragon and clad in a purple robe, appeared both real and illusory. With a wave of his hand, the fierce wind transformed into a dragon, its mouth spitting out blades that slashed and hacked.

Facing the wind blades from all sides, Chu Wanbing showed seriousness. Feng Yan, however, avoided direct confrontation, first deflecting 30% of the wind force, then with a flick of her wrist, she summoned the Dustless Sword. In a crystalline white expanse, the Heavenly Sword Valley's renowned weapon blocked another 50% of the pressure. Then, the two swords combined, slashing horizontally and vertically, directly shattering the wind dragon's incarnation.

Zihe sneered, pushing his magical power to its peak. Instantly, the Four Symbols Spirit Venerables appeared alternately, cooperating with each other, wind and thunder generating each other, water and fire complementing each other, multiplying their power.

Chu Wanbing dared not be negligent, activating her Phoenix Divine Power. The raging spiritual fire burned the sky like a furnace, and the combined swords slashed, obscuring the sun and moon.

From afar, a strange phenomenon appeared on the horizon: the Four Symbols Spirit Lords unleashed their power, with gales, thunder, fire, and water descending simultaneously. Among the four, only one figure, a bewitching beauty, soared through the sky with phoenix wings, fiercely battling the four deities.

Although Chu Wanbing managed to hold her ground, she noticed that the opponent's formation was growing increasingly powerful. The four symbols complemented and aided each other, leaving no blind spots. She couldn't help but marvel, "If I had gone all out from the beginning, not giving the Taoist priest a chance to chant incantations and condense his magic, I wouldn't be in such a sorry state now."

The biggest weakness of casting spells is the time-consuming process of chanting and condensing incantations. Once someone closes you down in a prolonged battle, defeat is inevitable. Chu Wanbing had several opportunities to defeat Zihe from the start, but she underestimated him, allowing Zihe's formation to reach its full potential. It was too late for regrets.

The two sides fought fiercely and relentlessly. Chu Wanbing repeatedly tried to break through to the Spirit Venerable level and get close to Zihe, but Zihe fought cleverly. As soon as Chu Wanbing broke free of the Spirit Venerable Dharma Form, he immediately used the Qimen Dunjia to hide his true form. He would only reveal his face after the Spirit Venerable had regrouped and surrounded him. This infuriated Chu Wanbing, who cursed the Taoist priest as shameless! The two sides fought fiercely for more than a hundred rounds, with no clear winner. Meanwhile, the arrogant bird demons and the Confucian disciples on the back of the eagle were also fighting brilliantly, creating a scene of smoke and fire in the sky.

Just then, a streak of emerald green parted the clouds and arrived on the wind. A jade palm struck, unleashing a burst of wind, thunder, water, and fire, forcefully suppressing the Purple Crane's arrogance.

Chu Wanbing smiled sweetly, "Birou, thank you!"

Lin Birou giggled, "Bing'er, this wicked Taoist is utterly despicable! How about we sisters teach him a lesson together?"

Chu Wanbing nodded, "I couldn't be happier!"

With the two beauties joining forces, the Four Symbols Spirit Venerables suddenly showed signs of weakness. The Purple Crane roared, "Fighting with numbers? What kind of hero are you!"

Chu Wanbing rolled her eyes and spat, "I'm just a woman, not some hero!"

Lin Birou chimed in with a laugh, "You stinking Taoist, haven't you heard that the most poisonous heart is a woman's?"

Enraged by these two vixens' sharp retorts, the Purple Crane's anger flared. She commanded the Four Symbols Spirit Venerables to unleash their divine powers once more, determined to crush these two vixens into dust.

The two women had collaborated before, understanding each other's intentions with a single glance. Chu Wanbing shifted her lithe body to the left, unleashing both swords simultaneously. Feng Yan shattered the Vermilion Bird, and Wuchen cleaved the Black Tortoise. The Water and Fire Spirit Lords shattered in response. Lin Birou summoned the Wind and Thunder Scrolls, unleashing "Myriad Calamities Gale" with her jade palm and "Heavenly Thunder Sound" with her slender fingers. Instantly, wind and thunder clashed, shattering the Dharma forms of the Wind and Thunder Spirit Lords.

After breaking the formation, Chu Wanbing wouldn't give Zihe a chance to chant incantations. Two fiery phoenix wings suddenly emerged from her back, and with a whoosh, she pressed forward with her sword.

Zihe panicked and dared not linger, fleeing on her crane. High above, besides the fierce battle between raptors and the furious fight between the Confucian and demonic beings, there was another strange sight: a phoenix chasing a crane, and a demonic woman pressing the Daoist.

Although she was relieved, Chu Wanbing remained calm, thinking to herself, "This thieving Taoist's close combat skills are so poor, why would he fight alone? There must be a trap."

Sensing something amiss, Chu Wanbing subtly gave Lin Birou a meaningful look. Lin Birou understood, turned, and flew into the clouds, avoiding everyone's sight, and took a detour to pursue him.

After chasing for three miles, the purple crane plunged into a cloud of mist. Chu Wanbing sneered and slipped in alone.

Upon entering, she saw auspicious clouds surging, Buddha's light shining everywhere, and a majestic aura enveloping all directions. As the clouds and mist gradually dissipated, eight golden Buddha statues came into view. Chu Wanbing's beautiful eyes sharpened as she glanced at the eight Buddhas and immediately understood: "That stinking Taoist priest really has a trick up his sleeve, using himself as bait to lure me into the Buddhist formation!"

Zihe laughed smugly, "Little demoness, this time Buddhism and Taoism have joined forces to set up a formation. Let's see how you deal with it!"

The eight Buddhist figures were the Eight Vajras of Buddhism—the Vajra of Disaster Removal, the Vajra of Poison Repelling, the Vajra of Yellow Follow-Up Seeking, the Vajra of White Pure Water, the Vajra of Crimson Fire and Sound, the Vajra of Fixed-Point Disaster Resistance, the Vajra of Purple Sage, and the Vajra of Great God. These eight Vajras were each positioned in one of the Eight Leaf Courtyards, chanting scriptures simultaneously, forming the Eight Leaf Demon-Trapping Formation.

Upon being bathed in the Buddha's light, Chu Wanbing suddenly felt her breath catch in her throat, and her true essence was inexplicably depleted. She secretly cried out that something was wrong; this formation was indeed deliberately set up against her.

Surrounded and in imminent danger, suddenly the heavens seemed to tremble—a combined attack of nine scrolls, a devastating force that swept across the land, dispelling the clouds and revealing the sky once more. The eight Vajras, focused on sealing Chu Wanbing, had been oblivious to the surrounding forces and were instantly shattered by the impact.

After breaking the formation, Lin Birou supported Chu Wanbing and asked with concern, "Bing'er, are you alright?"

Chu Wanbing sighed, "Luckily, I was careful, otherwise I would have really been in trouble."

Lin Birou whispered, "Bing'er, it seems the battle here is designed to target you." Chu Wanbing sighed softly and murmured, "It's not just targeting me, even the Proud Bird Clan is being targeted." With

the Buddhist formation broken, the Daoist shouted loudly, his spirits lifted, and the battle resumed. The eight Vajras unleashed their treasure-light palm strikes, while the Purple Crane Mystic Method was used to unleash Daoist magic. The two beauties had no time to ponder, their combined martial arts and attacks clashing against the Buddhist and Daoist elites.

The aerial battle in the east was deadlocked. With the aerial threat gone, the silver-armored cavalry charged in, overwhelming the enemy and crushing every inch of land.

Around the beacon towers in the west, Bai Lingyu led five thousand cavalry in a state of high alert, while Wei Xuexin led a thousand disciples, swords drawn, to protect them. The two sides complemented each other, one using conventional tactics, the other unorthodox, one fast, the other steady, their strengths mutually reinforcing.

Suddenly, a foul wind blew, and the cavalry horses became restless. Bai Lingyu was startled; in all her years of leading troops, she had never seen five thousand warhorses so agitated simultaneously. The uneasy breathing and hooves stirred a sense of unease within her.

Amidst the billowing dust, countless ferocious beasts charged forward, the first to catch her eye being the swift cheetahs.

Although the warhorses were well-trained, their wild instincts remained. The scent of the beasts filled them with terror. Facing the king of beasts, they dared not act rashly, turning tail and fleeing. The cavalrymen struggled to control their horses, but could not hold back. The five thousand cavalrymen, already intimidated before the battle even began, crumbled into disarray.

The cheetah charged into the enemy formation, further disrupting the Dragonscale Army. The cheetah pursued relentlessly, its speed incredible, its ferocity savage, ready to sever horses' throats or slaughter cavalry.

The cheetah cleared the way, followed by a thousand cavalrymen mounted on tigers, their riders clad in light armor and wielding sharp blades – a pack of tiger cavalry.

Even a mighty tiger can't withstand a pack of wolves; how formidable were a thousand tigers and a thousand cheetahs? The thousand tiger cavalrymen were already upon them, and the Dragonscale Army's cavalry formation rapidly crumbled. Tigers and cheetahs, working together, swept across the battlefield, instantly staining the yellow sand with blood. Men and horses fell, suffering heavy casualties.

"Damn it! Where did these beasts come from!"

Bai Lingyu steeled his resolve, abandoning his horse to fight on foot. With hatred in his eyes, he brandished his spear, leading the charge. His silver spear swept and thrust, displaying unparalleled ferocity. Wherever the divine power of the Qilin passed, cheetahs and tigers were slain.

Seeing this, Wei Xuexin shouted, "Zhou Tian Xing Dou Formation!"

Upon hearing this, the disciples of Tianjian Valley consecrated their swords and activated the formation, their internal energy flowing together. A

surge of powerful energy instantly formed a seal, halting the charge of the tiger cavalry. On the battlefield, a beautiful figure moved swiftly, a sharp blade unleashing boundless brilliance, nimbly and effectively taking the enemy's head.

Spear and sword combined, the two women joined forces to fight the enemy.

After Bai Lingyu swept away a leopard with her spear, she said, "Xuexin, these tigers and leopards must have been trained by someone; otherwise, they wouldn't be fighting together."

As the saying goes, "Two tigers cannot share one mountain," and now, with a thousand tigers as riders and leopards as vanguard, the underlying meaning is far from simple.

With the Xing Dou Formation complete, its power multiplied. The thousand disciples seemed to transform into a powerful army of ten thousand, facing the onslaught of tigers and leopards without retreating an inch, ensuring that the Dragon Scale Army did not lose its ground.

Cavalry was unable to withstand the attack, so only infantry could step up. The five infantry battalions lined up in order and charged into the battle, coordinating with the Heavenly Sword Valley's sword formation to retake the position.

Through Sparrow Shadow's communication, Long Hui already knew about the changes in the battle situation and was slightly surprised: "The situation on both the east and west fronts is extremely unfavorable. The enemy seems to know our deployment. On the east front, they are using heavy cavalry to clear the way, with eagles providing cover, to block the Ao Niao tribe's offensive. On the west front, they are using beasts to counter warhorses."

It must be said that the enemy's arrangement was very well done. If the positions of the east and west fronts were switched, the situation would be completely different. If heavy cavalry attacked the west front, then Bai Lingyu's elite cavalry could crush the enemy into dust. Conversely, if the beast legion came to the east front, even with the protection of eagles, these lightly armed cavalry would be nothing more than a bunch of moving roasted meat in the eyes of the Ao Niao tribe.

With the battle going poorly, Long Hui immediately dispatched reinforcements. Yue Biao, riding his White-browed Bear, led a thousand shield-bearers westward to reinforce the area. After all, Yue Biao also had a ferocious beast mount, which might have an unexpected effect.

Yue Biao led his men to the beacon tower defense line, shouting, "General Bai, Yue Biao is here!"

The scent of the ferocious beasts ignited the fighting spirit in the White-browed Bear's bloodline. Without waiting for Yue Biao's call, its massive body darted into the formation, seizing a leopard and delivering a powerful paw strike. With a loud crack, the leopard was sent flying into the air.

When it landed, it convulsed a few times, coughed up blood, and died instantly. Its neck had been broken by the bear's paw.

The infantry formation also began to play its role. Although the tigers and leopards were like a flood, the Ironclad Battalion soldiers held their ground on the first line of defense, gritting their teeth and refusing to retreat an inch. The four main types of troops behind them—musketeers, crossbowmen, long-handled swordsmen, and hook-spearmen—counterattacked the enemy.

The role of the armored battalion was to block the enemy's advance, creating opportunities for the four other troop types behind them to strike. Their own offensive capabilities were unremarkable, while the shield-wielders, equipped with light armor and shields, offered less defense than the armored battalion, but each carried a serrated, blood-sucking blade, making them far more lethal.

The shield-wielders joined the infantry square, working alongside the armored battalion to reinforce the defensive line. With a slash of their serrated blades, even the fiercest tigers and leopards would be left bleeding and mangled.

After Yue Biao slashed several tiger cavalrymen with his double axes, he roared, "Shield-wielders, form a flowing water formation!"

Upon hearing this, Bai Lingyu immediately commanded the infantry square to respond with a crescent formation.

The Flowing Water Formation is a special formation for shield-wielding swordsmen. These soldiers, wielding shields and swords, move across the battlefield in a meandering, circular motion. Their shields and armor offer considerable protection, and their light weight allows for agile movement. Equipped with serrated swords, they flow like water into the enemy ranks, making their movements unpredictable.

The Crescent Moon Formation is a type of infantry square formation. The flanks of the entire unit extend forward, while the center retreats, resembling a crescent moon. Whenever the enemy charges, the two flanks converge to encircle and annihilate any who manage to escape.

Once the Flowing Water Formation was activated, it was as if a surging tide continuously drove the Tiger Cavalry into the Crescent Moon Formation. Then, Bai Lingyu ordered an encirclement and annihilation. The two formations coordinated seamlessly, turning the tide of the battle.

Just then, a violent tremor shook the ground. Behind the tiger cavalry, another ferocious beast unit appeared—a group of thick-skinned, tough beasts. These beasts had heads as large as buckets, resembled water buffalo, but lacked horns on their foreheads, had small ears and eyes, and only a single horn on their noses. They were a herd of rhinoceroses, each carrying three soldiers on its back. They were dressed differently: one wielded a spear, one a crossbow, and one a steel sword—a perfect setup for both ranged and melee combat. The crossbows provided ranged attacks, the spears provided close-quarters combat, and the steel swords provided close-quarters fighting. With the rhinoceroses as mounts, the entire force was unstoppable, crushing their way forward.

The shield-bearers and swordsmen were the first to be hit, their water-flow formation shattered by a single charge from the rhinoceroses.

The crescent formation then suffered another catastrophe. The iron-armored soldiers were the first to perish, knocked over by the rhinoceroses and then brutally trampled. Their iron armor offered no protection, and they were instantly turned into mincemeat.

Muskets and crossbows posed little threat to the rhinoceros's thick hide, and the two battalions were quickly broken through. The remaining hook spears and longswords were also no match for the rhinoceros's ferocity, and the entire infantry formation collapsed in the blink of an eye.

Yue Biao's dark face turned red and purple with rage. He swung his Vajra Axe and charged towards the rhinoceros formation. White-browed Bear also roused himself and pounced on one of the rhinoceroses. With a single swipe of his paw, the rhinoceros's limbs went limp, and it collapsed to the ground. But it merely shook its head and stood up again. Yue Biao was dumbfounded. White-browed Bear's paw could break even a thick, strong tree, but when it struck these animals' faces, it was like a little girl giving them a back rub.

Enraged, Yue Biao leaped onto the rhinoceros's back, hacking down three cavalrymen in one fell swoop. Then, he aimed his axe at the rhinoceros's neck and swung it down: "Damn it, I don't believe you beast can withstand my axe!"

With both axes drawn, even the thickest rhinoceros hide couldn't withstand Yue Biao's brute force and the sharpness of his axes; its head was brutally chopped off.

Bai Lingyu was not to be outdone. Her martial prowess allowed her to bravely fight the surrounding beasts. She swept her spear, severing a cheetah in half, then shattering a tiger's skull with a single thrust, and finally piercing the rhinoceros's thick hide with a final thrust.

Bai Lingyu, having pierced a rhinoceros with a single spear thrust, didn't even withdraw it. Instead, she suddenly lowered her waist and legs, unleashing a burst of divine strength, lifting the rhinoceros's carcass, weighing thousands of pounds, above her head like a toy. She then used it as a meat mallet, swinging it left and right, with muffled thuds echoing. Tigers, cheetahs, rhinoceroses, and heavy cavalry were all swept away by her.

Bai Lingyu's three spear thrusts established her authority, shaking the battlefield and inspiring awe in both friend and foe. Her cherry lips parted, and she roared, "All those not dead, stand up straight! Anyone who retreats will be executed on the spot!"

The Qilin's divine power erupted, and Bai Lingyu, in a display of strength, flung the rhinoceros carcass from her spear, sending it crashing down on a large group of enemy soldiers, further enhancing her imposing presence.

Inspired by their commander's might, all the soldiers rallied, straightening their bodies to fight the enemy once more. Even the cavalrymen whose horses had gone out of control abandoned their mounts and fought on foot, defending their positions with their own flesh and blood.

One soldier, after a chunk of flesh was torn away by a leopard's claws, endured the excruciating pain, turned, and severed the leopard's head with a single blow. However, this left him vulnerable, and a tiger-riding cavalryman behind him pierced his body with a spear, his throat falling into the tiger's jaws, spurting out a spray of blood.

Despite the unfavorable situation, the Dragonscale Army soldiers refused to retreat an inch, displaying unwavering courage and masculine strength, forging a legend in this chaotic world.

As the saying goes, misfortunes never come singly, and a delayed ship is met with a headwind. Just then, the enemy army grew larger and larger, and the strength under Cang Shitian's command was gradually being revealed. The ground shook again, but this time it was even more powerful than before. A group of giant elephants came, each carrying a tower on its back. Inside the towers were several musketeers and crossbowmen. In addition, the elephants' tusks were wrapped with various sharp blades and barbs. With a swing of their heads, they swept down large numbers of elephants.

Cheetahs, tigers, rhinoceroses, and now giant elephants are pressing in, the situation has instantly become one-sided...

In the sixteenth chapter, a variation of the killing situation unfolds as

giant elephants charge. Bai Lingyu grits her teeth, brandishes her spear, and charges forward, unleashing the power of the Qilin Divine Force. She pours her true essence into her silver spear, forcing out a five-zhang-long beam of energy that sends the five leading giant elephants flying. Wei Xuexin's Years Sword flashes with cold light, and with a series of strikes, she cuts three giant elephants in half at the waist. However, the enemy's wave shows no sign of stopping, forcefully stepping into the formation. The Dragon Scale Army's defense line is as thin as paper, instantly torn open. Soldiers are either swept aside by elephant tusks or trampled to death by giant feet.

The powerful sword formation of Raotian Sword Valley can only hold a corner of the defense line. Facing the endless stream of tigers and cheetahs, they are already exhausted, not to mention the rhinoceroses and giant elephants that follow. The disciples' sword-wielding arms are gradually becoming sore and numb, and their strength is beginning to wane.

Seeing this, Wei Xuexin immediately ordered everyone to change formation: "Heaven and Earth Formation!"

The Zhou Tian Star Sword Formation was powerful in attack, while the Heaven and Earth Formation was a defensive formation for nourishing the Qi and restoring strength. With sword Qi flowing and Yuan Gong circulating, the disciples of Tianjian Valley would guard their positions closely, making it difficult for even the fiercest beasts to enter. They had no choice but to change course, thus preserving the last line of defense for the Dragon Scale Army.

Watching the soldiers fall one by one, Bai Lingyu felt as if her heart was being torn apart. The battle of Jinling Beacon Tower in the past flashed through her mind again, and she felt an inexplicable grief and anger. Her anger overwhelmed her, and she coughed up a mouthful of blood

. In that instant, an archer on the back of a rhinoceros fired a cold arrow, which struck Bai Lingyu's right shoulder. Bai Lingyu felt a tearing pain in her shoulder, clearly indicating that the bone had been injured.

She was strong-willed and would not back down. She pulled out the cold arrow and threw it back. The arrow, mixed with blood, pierced through the bodies of three soldiers on the back of the rhinoceros with a whoosh.

Freed from the cavalry's control, the rhinoceros became even more ferocious. Its single horn slammed into Bai Lingyu's abdomen, sending him flying like a kite with a broken string.

Bai Lingyu felt a sharp pain in his lower abdomen. He touched it and found his palm covered in blood. The rhinoceros horn had pierced his armor, wounding his body.

The flowing blood, however, only fueled Bai Lingyu's fierce courage. He stood proudly with his spear, ignoring his injury, and charged into battle. His silver spear flashed left and right, and no enemy could withstand even ten blows from him.

Bai Lingyu fought with increasing ferocity. As his blood boiled and his fighting spirit surged, his bloodline underwent a change. The blood from his wounds emitted bursts of heat, and a delicate, sandalwood fragrance permeated the entire battlefield.

Upon smelling this fragrance, the beasts on the battlefield paused, all stopping their movements, their eyes fixed on one direction.

From that direction, auspicious crimson auras rose, and the crimson blood mist slowly condensed into a magnificent Qilin form.

No matter how powerful these beasts were, their innate nature could not be erased. Upon seeing the ancestor of beasts appear on the battlefield, they instinctively lay down, lowering their heads, revealing a breathtaking panorama of ten thousand beasts paying homage to the Qilin.

The power of the Qilin Blood Fruit had transformed Bai Lingyu's bones and bloodline. Like Chu Wanbing, her blood was no longer that of an ordinary person; in a sense, she was a human-like Qilin. With each fierce battle, the Qilin blood within her began to awaken. After much accumulation, it finally awakened at this critical moment, subduing all the beasts.

Even Yue Biao's white-browed bear was no exception to the Qilin's blood aura. Its massive body lay prone on the ground, too afraid to move. Yue Biao was helpless and had no choice but to abandon his horse and fight on foot.

The Purple Crane had only sealed the spiritual consciousness of the flying creatures, isolating them from the influence of the phoenix bloodline, but hadn't dealt with the beasts. Encountering the awakened bloodline of Bai Lingyu, the situation quickly turned against them. What should have been a sure victory suddenly became an unstoppable defeat. It was truly a case of man proposes, God disposes; the Qilin's transformation subdued all beasts.

With the beasts losing their advantage, the once-fierce enemy army lost seven-tenths of its strength. Cavalry reduced to infantry, they were no match for the elite infantry of the Dragon Scale Army, and were routed.

The Dragon Scale Army soldiers, holding their breath, launched a counterattack, leaving no survivors, especially Yue Biao, whose life was cut short by axe blows.

With its bloodline awakened, Bai Lingyu was even more exhausted, its strength depleted, its vision blurred, and it swayed precariously.

"Lingyu!"

Wei Xuexin appeared instantly, supporting her and using her sword to cover her retreat back into the sword formation.

Bai Lingyu gritted her teeth and endured the pain, blood streaming from her abdomen. Wei Xuexin's jade fingers moved like lightning, skillfully sealing the blood vessels in her wounds in an instant.

Bai Lingyu gasped for breath and said, "Xuexin, thank you."

Wei Xuexin said, "It's good that you're alright. Does your wound still hurt?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Wei Xuexin suddenly felt a piercing pain, and cold sweat inexplicably seeped from her snow-white forehead.

The victory was achieved on the west side, but the aerial battle on the east side remained deadlocked. The Ice and Jade Twins joined forces to fiercely challenge the Buddhist and Taoist formations. The Eight Vajras had solid foundations, their palms and fists rising and falling with a powerful and majestic air. The Purple Crane True Man's incantations were profound, his sleeves fluttering and his robes flowing with a Taoist breeze.

Demonic Yuan Sword Qi and the Nine Heavens Combined Attack, Chu Wanbing and Lin Birou fought together and, although they were not at a disadvantage, they could not free up their hands to support the Proud Bird Clan, and could only let them fight alone.

The heavy cavalry on the ground advanced rapidly, almost reaching the east gate of Muzhou. Suddenly, a golden light flashed in the sky, and a colossal figure spread its wings and flew in—it was the Golden Roc. On its back stood a bewitching white figure with peach-blossom cheeks, crimson lips, starry eyes, and jade lips—it was Luo Qingyan.

The proud birds cried out in unison, the Golden Roc cleared the way, and a hurricane roared, welcoming the phoenix's arrival. "Proud birds, quickly intercept and kill the heavy cavalry on the ground! Leave this battle to me!"

Luo Qingyan's phoenix eyes swept across the battlefield; she already had a grasp of the battle situation. With a flick of her jade finger, she said calmly, "Golden Roc, deal with those flies!"

The Golden Roc let out a long cry and flapped its wings. Seeing the Golden Roc's assistance, the proud bird clan immediately retreated.

Feng Yi, bow in hand, led the charge against the golden eagle. Arrows flew out, but before they could get close, they were blown away by the hurricane whipped up by the eagle's wings. The eagles beneath the Confucian disciples were also thrown off balance by the turbulence, flapping their wings frantically to regain their footing. The Confucian disciples suffered greatly, many being thrown from the ground.

The golden eagle charged in with overwhelming force; the eagle formation was no match for it, instantly decimating them. With a rip of its talons, feathers mixed with blood and flesh flew everywhere. The eagles were broken, and the Confucian sect was routed.

After breaking the eagle formation, Luo Qingyan rode her eagle to aid Chu Wanbing and Lin Birou.

Zihe, no longer daring to linger, cried out, "Masters, this phoenix demon woman is here! It's not wise to fight her. Retreat quickly!"

The Eight Vajras nodded in agreement and immediately dismantled the Buddhist formation. Zihe made a hand seal, using the art of divination to summon clouds for cover, and led the Eight Vajras to a swift retreat from the battlefield.

Chu Wanbing gritted her teeth and cursed him as a coward. Lin Birou said, "Bing'er, let's go down and support the ground troops."

The two women descended and, together with the eastern garrison, fought against the heavy cavalry. With the addition of the Ao Niao's air attack, the heavy cavalry was unable to recover and suffered more than half its losses, fleeing in disarray.

Despite turning defeat into victory, Chu Wanbing was still resentful. She stomped her feet a few times and scolded, "That stinky Taoist priest, all he knows is to use underhanded tricks!"

Luo Qingyan laughed and said, "Bing'er, he's already gone, don't look so indignant."

Chu Wanbing snorted, "That stinky Taoist priest's formation has the effect of restricting internal energy. If it weren't for that, I would have defeated him long ago."

Luo Qingyan said, "Silly girl, in battle, you don't necessarily need to be strong. You just need to concentrate. Remember, when the enemy is strong, be gentle; when the enemy is gentle, change; when the enemy changes, be focused; when the enemy is focused, be strong."

Chu Wanbing's eyebrows furrowed slightly, as if she was deep in thought. Lin Birou also pondered silently.

Luo Qingyan said, "Alright, you can figure out the deeper meaning of this slowly. I need to cooperate with Mingluan's operation now."

Chu Wanbing giggled, "Mother, you already know?"

Luo Qingyan smiled slyly, "Of course, you—Aunt Lu has already infiltrated the enemy ranks. Mother will go and meet her right away."

Mother and daughter smiled at each other, their eyes filled with alluring glances, everything unspoken.

At Wofo Ridge, Meng Ke and his group sneaked into the secluded path. The righteous men of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism, along with the disciples of Tianjian Valley, numbered over two hundred. Although not many, they were elite.

Wei Jianming walked along the path, seeing that the mountain walls were covered with moss, and the surroundings were damp and cold. Waist-high weeds grew everywhere, clearly indicating that no one had walked there for hundreds of years. He couldn't help but sigh, "I wonder how my brother-in-law discovered such a secluded path." The secret passage was about half a mile long. The group cautiously walked out, and before them was a wide official road. Meng Ke whispered, "The supplies haven't arrived yet. Everyone, quickly prepare for an ambush."

The group found their hiding places and waited for the supplies to arrive.

Half an hour later, the sounds of wheels, hooves, and the clatter of armor came from afar. A grain transport team of over a thousand men was rushing towards Su Ming. Leading them, besides a centurion, was a monk—the Venerable Kong.

Meng Ke gestured to Zhunti and Jieyin behind him, pointing to the Venerable Kong. The two monks nodded in understanding and leaped forward. Jieyin unleashed the Five-Finger Buddha Mountain Palm, while Zhunti formed the Eight-Nine Zen Finger, attacking the Venerable Kong with lightning speed. This was a case of monks fighting monks, upholding the integrity of Buddhism. The Venerable Kong,

suddenly seeing the two Buddhas attacking, immediately calmed his mind and entered the Void Realm of Emptiness. His Zen mind was calm and undisturbed, his spirit clear. He assessed the situation, discerning the true nature of the enemy's moves. He flicked his right palm, formed a mudra with his left, and a vast Buddhist light emanated from his body—his unique technique—the Seven Treasures Zen Method.

Among the six Venerables of Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, Space, and Consciousness, the Venerable Consciousness is the foremost, followed by the Venerable Space. Their martial arts foundations are equally astonishing. This Seven Treasures Zen Method originates from the Seven Treasures of Buddhism, exquisite and unparalleled. Even the two Buddhas working together would find it difficult to gain an inch of ground.

Seeing the enemy attack, the leading thousand soldiers immediately drew their swords and ordered their soldiers to protect the grain carts. Suddenly, a flash of sword light swept across, and the thousand soldiers' throats were splattered with blood. The surrounding soldiers were thrown into chaos by the death of their leader.

Meng Ke praised, "A single sword strike to the throat, slaying the enemy chieftain amidst a thousand troops, Young Master Wei, your skill is truly remarkable. I admire you greatly."

Wei Jianming smiled and said, "Brother Meng, you flatter me."

The two chatted and laughed as they walked out of the woods. Wei Jianming, having tasted victory for the first time, was extremely excited. He brandished his sword and charged into the battle. The other disciples of Heavenly Sword Valley also drew their swords to help. Sword light flashed, and figures blurred together. The grain transport soldiers were thrown into disarray and gradually became overwhelmed.

Wei Jianming shouted, leaped onto a grain cart, and swung his sword, unleashing a flurry of sword flowers that obliterated all life within four steps, clearing the cart. He then gathered his true energy, raised his sword overhead, and slashed down, the immense sword energy splitting another grain cart in two. Next, he angled his sword, transforming the fierce vertical slash into a spiraling sword aura, violently shredding a grain cart on his left. With

these three swords establishing their dominance, the grain transport soldiers dared not provoke this killing god and retreated in unison.

On the other side, seeing that the two Buddhas were unable to subdue the Void Venerable, Meng Ke pulled three bronze mirrors from his sleeve and threw them at him.

The three mirrors suddenly emitted intense, scorching light. Jieyin and Zhunti immediately withdrew, while the Void Venerable felt his energy drain away, his strength failing him, and he was firmly trapped beneath the mirror's light.

The Venerable Kong's expression changed drastically, and he exclaimed in surprise, "The Three Powers and Eight Trigrams Mirror of the Daoist School?"

Meng Ke laughed and said, "Indeed, it is a magical artifact that I specially borrowed from Master Hongjun. Venerable Kong, your defeat is inevitable, so surrender!"

Trapped by the Three Powers and Eight Trigrams Mirror, Venerable Kong's internal energy grew increasingly weak, yet he showed no sign of despair, gritting his teeth and using his solid foundation to resist the mirror's erosion.

Meng Ke snorted, took out an exquisite bronze mirror, silently recited an incantation, and casually tossed it into the air. This mirror was none other than the Confucian Righteous Qi Bronze Mirror. Instantly, Confucian and Taoist artifacts worked together, trapping the Buddha with light and shadow, activating the four wastes, setting up a net of divine spirits, projecting illusions from three sides, and locking the rainbow with a single mirror. Venerable Kong immediately lost seventy percent of his power.

Meng Ke's robes swirled, and a small drum appeared, its drumhead inscribed with numerous characters, flowing like dragons and phoenixes in a wild, unrestrained style. It was none other than the Confucian secret treasure—the Qingyuan Hengshi Drum.

Meng Ke held the drum in his left hand and a stick in his right, striking the drumhead lightly and heavily. The drumbeats resounded through heaven and earth, releasing profound righteous energy. Venerable Kong cried out in anguish, covering his forehead with both hands, groaning incessantly.

Meng Ke coldly said, "Accomplice to a tiger! Today, Meng Ziyu will shatter your power with the mighty drumbeat!"

Seeing this, Jieyin and Zhunti simultaneously unleashed their palm strikes, attacking the departing Buddha in the mirror.

The drumbeats resounded, the palm winds were fierce, leaving no chance for the Void Venerable. Suddenly, a powerful sword aura cleaved through the life-or-death situation, sweeping away Meng Ke, Jieyin, and Zhunti.

Immediately, the sword light shot into the four mirrors, creating a formation within a formation. The Mandala diagram, from the inside out, devoured the Confucian and Taoist mirrors with a snap. Meanwhile

, the disciples of Tianjian Valley also encountered an unexpected turn of events. The grain carts they had seized suddenly exploded, killing many disciples on the spot. Wei Jianming was shocked. Upon closer inspection, apart from the few carts he had seized that were carrying grain, all the others were filled with explosives. Wei Jianming was filled with rage and hatred. Before his anger subsided, a deafening battle cry suddenly erupted from ahead—it was the enemy's ambush.

Wei Jianming roared, "Those who can still move, stand up and fight your way out!"

He no longer had the mind to consider why he had been outmaneuvered; only one thought occupied his mind—to break through the encirclement.

Wei Jianming roused himself, brandishing his sword to meet the enemy, but arrows flew like locusts, and swords and spears rained

down upon him. The corpses around Wei Jianming piled up, his companions dwindled, and blood splattered everywhere. Even with his mastery of Yu Xiuting's personal teachings, he was exhausted from the fighting.

Just then, he heard several muffled groans behind him. Turning around, he saw Meng Ke, Jieyin, and Zhunti lying on the ground, coughing up blood. Another monk stood beside the Venerable Kong, holding the Mandala Sword—it was Mara.

Mara chuckled, "You mere rats dare to try and fish in troubled waters!"

Jieyin wiped the blood from his lips and struck Mara with his palm.

Mara, with his sword behind him, formed a mudra at his chest, and a magnificent Buddhist aura emanated from him. With just a casual strike, Jieyin was severely injured again, coughing up blood.

Zhunti roared, forming seventy-two hand seals in one breath, transforming them into eight or nine variations, unleashing all his cultivation power to fight the false Buddha before him.

Bo Xun retreated, his shoulder sinking, using a clever movement to deflect Zhunti's seventy-two hand seals. Jieyin, enduring his pain, assisted, his Five-Finger Buddha Mountain Palm striking Bo Xun's Tanzhong acupoint. With

the Buddhist elite falling one after another, Jieyin and Zhunti, carrying the last vestiges of Buddhist Dharma, faced the heretic before them, pushing their cultivation to the limit, launching a joint attack to break the false Buddha's appearance.

"Always obsessed!"

Bo Xun sneered disdainfully, as unmoved as a rock, merely stomping his foot, his protective Buddhist energy emanating from his body, repelling Jieyin's Buddha Palm before it even reached three feet.

The aftershocks didn't stop; Zhunti's seventy-two hand seals were also disintegrated.

Mara pursued with lightning speed, seizing Zhunti's vital energy gate. He then reversed his internal energy, unleashing a torrent of energy into Zhunti's body. Jieyin was shocked and hastily swung a palm to help his junior brother, but Mara's monk's robe billowed, releasing the full power of his Buddha palm strike. Jieyin

tried to strike again, but felt his wrist go weak; his pulse gate was seized, and his vital energy flowed away like a burst dam. Jieyin

felt an imminent danger and pushed his power to its limit. In an instant, spiritual light burst forth, enveloping the false Buddha. Zhunti beside him echoed this, also pushing his cultivation to its highest level.

Mara sneered, "Foolish Buddhas, I will grant your wish!"

The Holy Buddha's Dharma Body activated, and the backlash of energy caught Jieyin and Zhunti completely off guard. The extreme Buddha's holy energy instantly transformed into a hellish inferno, completely destroying their martial meridians.

Jieyin and Zhunti collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath. Meng Ke rushed over, supporting the two monks with both hands, channeling his strength into his feet, and repeatedly kicked them to force them away.

Bo Xun used a seductive move, grabbing Meng Ke's ankle and lifting him into the air, then let out a sinister laugh.

Meng Ke felt a chill run down his spine, but then heard Bo Xun laugh, "Young Master Meng and Miss Su are happily married, truly a cause for celebration! I regret not being able to attend your celebration, so today I'll present you with a belated gift: may Young Master Meng be childless!"

Bo Xun then spread his five fingers wide, grabbing towards Meng Ke's groin, his once masculine Vajra Claw transformed into a despicable and vile Yin Claw.

The false Buddha, whose manhood had been severed by Chu Wanbing, was beyond the comprehension of ordinary people. He was inherently lustful, yet had become a eunuch. Seeing Meng Ke's youthful good looks and his beautiful wife, a beauty listed among the Nine Heavens Fairies, he was filled with jealousy and resentment, vowing to make the boy a eunuch as well.

Just then, Bo Xun suddenly felt a sharp wind attack from behind his head. Given the defensive power of his Buddha body, he shouldn't have feared this immature sword energy, but it carried a familiar feeling—the humiliation and terror that had once defeated him.

In a flash, Bo Xun flung Meng Ke away, angrily turned around, and summoned his Reincarnation Wheel to block the sword's edge. Upon closer inspection, he saw it was Wei Jianming.

Bo Xun's brows furrowed in anger, and he roared, "You little bastard, you're courting death!"

Bo Xun hated two people most: Chu Wanbing and Yu Xiuting. Seeing his enemy's son, his inner energy surged like a spring, and he suddenly unleashed a burst of power. The Reincarnation Wheel shone brightly, causing Wei Jianming's internal organs to tremble violently, and he coughed up blood and staggered back.

Bo Xun drew his Mandala Sword and pursued him. Wei Jianming used all his life's cultivation to defend himself with his sword. With two clangs, Wei Jianming's tiger's mouth split open, blood flowing freely, and the sword slipped from his hand.

Bo Xun's sword showed no mercy, thrusting straight for Wei Jianming's heart.

In that split second, Wei Jianming's potential erupted, his eyes flashing with a sharp light, and the sword that had slipped from his hand flew back to protect its master.

Bo Xun's mind sharpened, for he sensed that the young man's sword seemed to possess the divine aura of a sword immortal, and the sword flying in mid-air was not driven by inner energy, but rather by his mind.

Seeing the young man before him break through in the midst of battle, Mara was enraged and activated his Holy Buddha Body, giving rise to a new ability: the ability to read minds. With

this ability complete, Mara's mind was clear, allowing him to see through Wei Jianming's true strength and weaknesses.

"Just as I expected, facing a powerful enemy has only stimulated this kid's talent!"

Mara cursed inwardly, knowing that Wei Jianming's sword heart was beginning to sprout. He was filled with jealousy and hatred. For some reason, the Holy Buddha Body sensed Wei Jianming's breakthrough and forcibly advanced, creating another divine ability—the ability to read destiny! With four of the five divine abilities complete, Mara was overjoyed. With a flick of his robe, his ability to read Wei Jianming's mind was revealed. Then, with a thought, he shook Wei Jianming's immature sword heart, causing a sharp pain in his head and his knees to buckle and he collapsed to the ground.

Mara laughed loudly, "Today has truly been a fruitful day! Not only have I eliminated you traitors, but I have also mastered two great supernatural powers!"

Zhunti's martial meridians were shattered, his arrogance vanished, and he gritted his teeth and roared, "Those who commit many evil deeds will surely perish! Although the false Buddha may have shown temporary strength, the cycle of heavenly justice will always prevail, and your end will be utterly tragic!"

Jieyin coughed and said, "Avici Hell is your destiny!"

Mara laughed loudly, "Avici Hell? I am the Buddha of the new life in the Dharma-ending Age, and all sentient beings in the six realms are in my palm. How can the mere hell realm escape my grasp!"

Mara was confident of victory and said smugly, "I have just attained the power of past lives, and I will now witness your fate!" With a cold laugh, he concentrated his energy, and the profound power of past lives arose instantly. With a thought, he sought to glimpse the secrets of heaven and see into the future.

The power of predestination allows one to see the secrets of the past and explore the opportunities of the future. With this profound insight, a vision of the future appeared in Mara's mind—a low growl, and a colossal beast strode forward. It was none other than the ferocious beast, the Nine-Unlikes, from the mortal realm, but its malevolent aura had vanished, and auspicious clouds surrounded it.

Mara secretly rejoiced, thinking, "This beast's cleansing of its evil nature in the future will surely be due to my merit."

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but imagine the end of the Dharma-ending Age, the beginning of a new golden age of righteousness, when ferocious beasts and demons would submit, countless Buddhas and monks would pay homage, and all living beings would sing his praises. This thought made him feel somewhat elated.

Watching the Nine-Unlikes approach on auspicious clouds, Mara chuckled, feeling carefree and smug. Suddenly, he saw a bloody scene of hell, the Avici Hell, where countless wronged souls and evil spirits cried out in anguish, unable to find release.

Mara pondered, "I will attain Nirvana in the Dharma-ending Age, and reopen the glorious era of the True Dharma. I am the only Buddha in the world. Those who believe will be reborn in the Pure Land, while those who do not will fall into Avici Hell. How wondrous, how wondrous! The power of knowing past lives is truly mysterious and wondrous!"

Thinking this, he grew increasingly excited, feeling somewhat lightheaded. Suddenly, he heard a pure and holy poem: "Until hell is empty, I vow not to become a Buddha.

Only when all sentient beings are liberated will I attain Bodhi!" Before the poem ended, a radiant light shone forth, and in its dazzling light, a figure appeared from afar. Wherever he passed, wronged souls were liberated, evil spirits were reincarnated, and the blood pools of hell were cleansed of their filth, giving rise to pure and holy lotus flowers.

Mara focused his gaze and saw that it was a monk, his appearance like that of a celestial being, wearing a Vairocana crown and a kasaya, holding a staff in one hand and a lotus flower in the other. At first glance, he seemed unremarkable, but upon closer inspection, a sense of familiarity arose within him.

The monk slowly approached, the Nine-Faced Beast bowing humbly, as if welcoming its master, or perhaps a devout follower. Mara was utterly astonished. In a daze, the monk's majestic form shone brightly, stirring up a cloud of dust. Golden light shone dazzlingly within the dust, yet a blood-red light echoed from the side.

Mara focused his gaze and saw that the two beams of light, golden and red, originated from two weapons: one, the Brahma Temple's Zen Blade, the other, the Bloodthirsty Sin Blade.

In the misty haze, the two opposing divine weapons resonated with each other, serving their master together. The celestial form, lightly treading the dust, seemed to hover between life and death, powerful and oppressive! Mara's heart suddenly raced, an inexplicable pressure enveloping him. He couldn't help but ask, "Who are you?"

The monk wielding the Buddha and Demon Blades calmly replied, "Ksitigarbha!"

As soon as the words left his lips, Mara saw Ksitigarbha's form split in two, and two all-too-familiar figures suddenly lunged at him—it was Qian Seng and Jie Ming.

"Impossible!"

Mara couldn't believe his eyes, but the deadly crisis pressed down on him, leaving him no time to think. He casually summoned the Mandala Sword, unleashing a torrent of sword energy to meet the Buddha's form and demonic body.

The sword energy struck, the Buddha's form crumbled, and the demonic body shattered. Mara sneered, "Whether you are Buddha or demon, my merits are complete, my Dharma body is indestructible, why would I fear you!"

Before he finished speaking, he suddenly felt a strong wind rushing from behind. Mara instinctively drew his sword to protect himself, and with a clang, he saw the Mandala Sword parrying a sea of blood-red sinful blade—the Bloodthirsty Sin Blade, wielded by none other than the Sangha.

As the sword and blade clashed, Jieming's palm struck, but Mara activated his Dharma body, unleashing the Buddha's holy power with his bare hands to meet Jieming's furious palm head-on.

The three sides were locked in a stalemate. Mara, filled with shock and rage, roared and added three more points of his palm strike, first shattering the Dharma form of Jieming. He then wielded the Mandala Sword, using skillful yet powerful techniques to deflect the Blood Blade. Immediately afterward, he unleashed the remaining five Dharma weapons, launching a relentless attack on Qianseng. The

golden light of the Holy Buddha shone brightly, and the power of the Dharma and Buddhist essence were amplified, leaving Qianseng no match for them,

and he was instantly annihilated. But just as Qianseng was dispersed, Jieming reappeared, along with—the Brahma Temple Zen Punishment. Jieming,

wielding his sword, glared angrily as he carried out the punishment.

Mara countered with the Dragon Elephant Ring Blade, the two blades clashing, causing the earth to shake.

After dozens of rounds of fierce fighting, Qianseng's demonic form suddenly appeared, and the Blood Blade of Judgment slashed down, forcing Mara to feel greatly overwhelmed.

Mara knew this was a mental illusion, a delusional nightmare rooted in his consciousness, impossible to escape. Before him stood a compassionate Buddha, before him a sinful monk; two swords clashed, demon and Buddha coexisted—a path leading to the other shore, a path of delusion.

Though it was only a fleeting moment, Mara's body and consciousness were tormented. In his dazed state, he suddenly saw Buddha and demon merge into one, transforming into Ksitigarbha, each wielding a divine weapon—punishment and sin, Buddha and demon—the two swords flowing separately, aimed directly at his vital points! The future was not a scene of countless Buddhas paying homage, nor of all living beings worshipping, but of Ksitigarbha slaying Mara! From glimpsing the future through supernatural powers to the return of consciousness, only a moment had passed, yet Mara found it unbelievable, his mind reeling, cold sweat pouring down his face.

Wei Jianming, his sword heart newly awakened, noticed the slightest clue and sneered, "False Buddha, what has your clairvoyance revealed that makes you sweat so much? Could it be that you foresee your tragic end?"

Mara raised an eyebrow and said, "Absurd! What I see in the future is a glorious path. When the Dharma-ending Age ends and the righteous Dharma is reborn, an unprecedented golden age will arrive. On that day, I will be the sole ruler of all religions, uniting all sects!" Meng Ke and the others were stunned. They hadn't expected this false Buddha's ambition to extend beyond Buddhism to include the annexation of other sects, aiming to become the so-called supreme ruler of all religions.

Wei Jianming scoffed, "Such grand pronouncements, nothing more than empty words to cover up your inner turmoil."

"Shut up!"

Enraged by this revelation, Mara drew his sword and swung it. The Mandala Sword fell coldly, blood splattering from Wei Jianming's throat, and he died.

Meng Ke cried out in anguish, "False Buddha, if you have the guts, come at me! What kind of skill is it to persecute a mere youth!"

Mara scoffed, "Words cannot buy you any life. If you wish to live, worship me! As the supreme ruler of all religions, I do not kill my followers!"

"Supreme ruler of all religions? You shameless scoundrel dares to call yourself a religious leader?"

Meng Ke propped himself up, his body swaying precariously, yet he showed no trace of Confucian integrity, preferring to die standing tall rather than live a life of subservience.

Mara, arrogant and cold, sneered and slowly approached, sword in hand: "These words have sealed your fate. You will all die!"

As soon as he finished speaking, he slashed with his sword, the sharp Buddhist light aiming to sever the Confucian scholar's life.

When the sword energy was still thirty paces away from Meng Ke, it suddenly split into three paths: one aimed straight for Meng Ke's heart, while the other two slashed towards Jieyin and Zhunti.

"Hmph, a defeated opponent dares to boast! You bald monk, no one can kill you!"

At the critical moment, lightning and fire descended from the sky, forcefully blocking the way. The Buddhist light and sword energy could no longer harm anyone. A crimson blade was seen embedded in the ground, resolutely blocking the way and protecting Meng Ke and the others.

Bo Xun recognized the blade; it was none other than Xuan Yang Feng.

The lightning and fire intertwined and slowly dissipated. Suddenly, a Taoist robe appeared, riding the wind—it was Yuan Ding.

Bo Xun was quite surprised and squinted, asking, "Yuan Ding, you're actually not dead?"

Yuan Ding replied, "This Daoist has a long life ahead of me, no need for you bald monk to

bother with me!" Bo Xun said, "Since you managed to survive from Linxia Mountain, why not live out your remaining years in peace and instead show off your strength? It's no different from courting death."

Yuan Ding said, "I originally didn't want to be tainted by this mundane world, but you and Cang Shitian have driven my Daoist sect to its death, and now you still claim to want to sever my Daoist lineage and make yourself some kind of supreme being of all religions!"

Bo Xun laughed, "There are so many doctrines in the world, and it is because of these different doctrines that various sects and factions are constantly fighting. I, with my compassionate heart, made a great vow to end the world's conflicts, cleanse the sea of blood, and bravely shoulder the heavy responsibility of unifying all religions. How could you, a frog in a well, possibly understand the meaning of this?"

Yuan Ding, with his fiery temper, didn't waste any more words upon hearing Bo Xun's words. He unleashed his Heaven-Burning Thunderous Qi and swept a palm strike at the false Buddha in front of him from afar.

Thunder and fire energies surged forth, but Mara calmly formed a hand seal and unleashed the "Empty Form of No Calamity" technique, directly confronting the thunder and fire energy.

The Buddhist and Taoist factions entered a new battle. The Buddhists, seeking to avenge their past defeat, held nothing back, displaying the full power of their holy Dharma body. The Taoists, determined to uphold the dignity of their lineage, unleashed their domineering thunder and fire energies. The battle caused air currents to swirl and smoke to billow, making it impossible for living beings to approach.

Yuan Ding unleashed a Fiery Palm Cleaver, slashing at the fake Buddha's face. Bo Xun countered with his Vajra Claw, twisting his wrist to deflect the palm strike.

Yuan Ding's palms swayed like willows in the wind, deftly blocking and parrying the claw's attack.

Both were struck and repelled. The fake Weituo, having just stopped, formed a hand seal, his body radiating intense energy, ready to unleash a fierce attack.

Yuan Ding erected numerous energy shields, prioritizing defense, but the Buddha's light enveloped him. Yuan Ding could only retreat swiftly using the Star Step technique, attempting to escape. Yuan Ding's lightness skill was superb, but Bo Xun's footwork was no less impressive, seemingly slow but actually swift, moving like thunder.

The chase continued, the distance between them remaining constant, Yuan Ding still trapped within the range of Bo Xun's deadly attacks.

Yuan Ding let out a deep shout, clapping his palms together, unleashing a surge of powerful energy that forcefully blocked Bo Xun's claw strike.

Seeing that his attack was ineffective, Bo Xun suddenly summoned the Salvation Staff, smashing it down towards Yuan Ding's crown.

Yuan Ding conjured a blade with his fingers, channeling his true energy. Xuan Yang Feng swiftly arrived to assist, blocking the Zen staff.

After a brief defensive maneuver, Yuan Ding grasped the hilt, dragging it horizontally, unleashing a streak of fire that forcefully deflected the Zen staff – a move known as the Heaven-Burning Star-Shattering Slash.

With a single strike, Yuan Ding, unwilling to prolong the fight, unleashed a flurry of chaotic slashes, the lightning and fire energy raging in all directions. Bo Xun and the others were unable to cross the line. Yuan Ding shouted, "Meng boy, what are you waiting for? Run!"

Meng Ke snapped out of his daze, picked up Wei Jianming's body, and led the group in retreat.

Yuan Ding cleared a path with his single blade, covering their safe escape, then transformed into a streak of lightning and fire and

also withdrew from the battlefield. Retreating from Wofo Ridge, Meng Ke and the others ran for dozens of miles before finally feeling relieved. They rested briefly, realizing that their seemingly impregnable surprise attack to seize supplies had ended in utter defeat. Not only were the martial meridians of Jieyin and Zhunti severed, but Wei Jianming had also perished.

Looking at the dozens of surviving soldiers, and then at Wei Jianming's corpse, Meng Ke felt as if his heart was being torn apart. Tears streamed down his face as he wailed, "Young Master Jianming, it is Meng Ziyu who has wronged you!"

Jieyin and Zhunti sighed helplessly, propped themselves up, and silently recited the Rebirth Mantra to pray for Wei Jianming's soul to be released from suffering.

"What are you crying for? You've cried him to death even before he's dead!"

Yuan Ding walked slowly towards them, his hands behind his back.

Meng Ke sensed the hidden meaning in Yuan Ding's words, stopped his tears, and looked up to ask, "Daoist, do you mean that Young Master Wei can still be saved?"

Yuan Ding rolled his eyes and coldly said, "A single sword to the throat, nine out of ten will die, but if you agree to one thing, this humble Daoist can try his best to save him!"

Hearing that Wei Jianming could still be saved, Meng Ke didn't care what conditions or schemes the other party might propose, and directly nodded in agreement: "If Daoist can save Young Master Wei, Meng Ziyu is willing to pay any price."

Yuan Ding said, "No price is necessary, just take me to see Jingchen and Hongjun!"

Meng Ke gritted his teeth and said, "It's a deal."

Yuan Ding walked to Wei Jianming's corpse, checked his breath, frowned and pondered for a moment, then suddenly made a gesture with his fingers, drawing upon the yang energy of heaven and earth to create the "Purple Chen Resurrection Technique," which he touched Wei Jianming's wound, stimulating the vital energy in his throat. Then, he pressed down with his palm, suppressing Wei Jianming's death aura and keeping him alive.

Meng Ke, who cultivated the Purple Yang Profound Art, possessing extreme yang energy, immediately sensed a yang energy brewing within Wei Jianming's body, indicating that his life was not yet over.

Yuan Ding said, "The Purple Chen Rejuvenation Technique only locks in a trace of his yang energy, at most prolonging his life for ten days. After ten days, his yang energy will be exhausted, and his life force will be cut off. To save him, we need to devise another method."

Meng Ke thought to himself, "Ten days is fine, it's better than no hope at all."

Yuan Ding said, "I have already saved him, you should fulfill your promise!"

Meng Ke said, "Of course, but before that, may I ask you, Master, what is your purpose in seeking out Jingchen and Hongjun?"

Yuan Ding sneered and snorted, "What, are you afraid that I will be detrimental to them?"

Meng Ke said, "Although Ziyu said..." "I promised the Daoist, but since I'm not directly involved, to ensure the safety of Senior Jingchen and Sect Leader Hongjun, I must ask a few questions."

Yuan Ding sneered, "What if I really take this opportunity to eliminate them?"

Meng Ke said, "Then I, Ziyu, would never disregard the safety of others."

Yuan Ding said, "Are you going back on your word!"

Meng Ke said, "Confucian scholars are true to their word, valuing promises more than their lives. Since I cannot keep my promise, I will atone with my death."

Yuan Ding laughed heartily, "What a resolute and proud spirit!"

Before his laughter subsided, he took out a scripture from his robes and tossed it to Meng Ke.

Meng Ke, puzzled, asked, "What is this?"

Yuan Ding replied, "Inside lies the reason I saved you and sought Jingchen. See for yourself!"

Meng Ke opened the scripture, quickly reading it in a flash. His expression changed drastically, and he exhaled a breath of turbid air, asking, "Where did this scripture come from?"

Yuan Ding said, "This 'Scripture of the Return of All Dharmas' is sold throughout the country. I picked it up casually from a street stall!"

Meng Ke gritted his teeth, saying, "This false Buddha is too arrogant! Not only does he proclaim himself the Supreme of All Religions in the scripture, but he also slanders me..." "The Confucian ancestor was his disciple!"

Yuan Ding's eyes flashed with anger as he sneered, "Not only the Confucian school, but even my Taoist ancestor became his disciple and grand-disciple. This bald monk's ambition is obvious!"

Immediately after Cang Shitian and Bo Xun joined forces to eliminate the high monks of Li Lou Bodhisattva, they immediately engraved a book called "The Scripture of the Return of All Laws to the Source." In this book, they widely publicized the words of the supreme being of all religions and even fabricated that Bo Xun was the reincarnation of the Great Desolate Saint, and that the saints of the three religions were all disciples of this Great Desolate Saint. His ambition to annex all religions in the martial world was fully revealed.

Meng Ke said, "They also have other sects within their ranks. Aren't they afraid of inciting public anger?"

Yuan Ding said, "That bald monk can simply claim he knows nothing about it and that it was all done by his followers, thus clearing himself of all responsibility. Plus, with Cang Shitian backing him up, Yin Fangxi and Jin Ziyi are powerless!" Meng Ke was slightly taken aback and frowned, "Daoist Master, do you also know the current emperor's identity?"

Yuan Ding's voice deepened, and he gritted his teeth, "I didn't know before, but some time ago, Mr. Hou came to see me and told me everything. Only then did I realize that the death of the Prince of Jin wasn't simply a frame-up, but rather laid the groundwork for Cang Shitian to take the blame!"

Meng Ke asked, "What are your plans for the future, Daoist Master?"

Yuan Ding said, "If Cang Shitian and that bald thief want to destroy my Daoist sect, then I will make them pay the price."
