Dragon Tattoo - Chapter 013: Wenlong's Father

"Listen to me, I haven't slept all night." Bai Feng got out of bed with a firm attitude.
Wenlong was filled with disappointment and resentment, and angrily turned his back.
After her brother-in-law Kong Wei was out of danger, the ward became lively with the comings and goings of relatives and friends. This left Wenlong with almost no chance to see his cousin Feng. Although he often thought about having another chance to make love with Feng, seeing how busy Feng was and how he barely had a chance to talk to her, he felt neglected. In addition, seeing Feng acting as if nothing had happened these past few days made him feel like he had a bunch of tangled weeds in his heart, which made him feel uncomfortable.
With the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays approaching, Wenlong would come to Aunt Hui's house after class. As usual, Aunt Hui would cook meals at home and bring them to the hospital. Occasionally, Wenlong would also take turns staying overnight with her. However, soon another patient was added to the ward, which extinguished any lingering feelings he had for her.
After a few more days of feeling disheartened, Aunt Hui suddenly slammed down her lunchbox in a huff and remained silent, head down.
Wenlong and his cousin Feng were both confused. It was the quick-witted cousin Feng who went over and asked in a low voice, "What's wrong? Huizhen, have you been tired these past few days?" She originally thought that Huizhen was angry because of her husband Kong Wei's burden, but she didn't know that Aunt Hui said to Wenlong, "It's all because you spoil your Uncle Cen."
A seemingly random question left everyone bewildered: "What exactly happened? Explain yourself."
My cousin's husband, Kong Wei, was also anxious, saying, "Don't rush, tell me slowly."
"There's no rush, they've already come knocking on the door."
Then came another rambling statement, leaving the three of them completely bewildered.
Wenlong glared at her angrily and began to berate her, "You're such a grown woman, how can you talk so incoherently? What exactly happened? Can't you explain yourself clearly?"
"How embarrassing!" Aunt Hui turned her head and sat down to the side. He had never seen Aunt Hui so angry before; she always went along with him.
Bai Feng was in a state of turmoil and didn't dare to look at Wen Long. Although he was angry, he didn't dare to press the matter too much after hearing what Aunt Hui said.
The room remained quiet for a while.
The patients in the ward were all watching them and didn't feel comfortable coming over to persuade them. After a while, Bai Feng felt that Aunt Hui might think it was inappropriate to talk when there were outsiders present, so she persuaded Bai Feng to step aside, and the two women started chatting away.
It turns out that he had been busy going to the hospital these past two days and had neglected Cen Sigang at home. Once, he forgot to lock the door, and Cen Sigang actually shakily moved outside and peeped at the woman in the neighbor's toilet.
The neighbors came to her house and started shouting and cursing. No matter how much Aunt Hui tried to persuade them to leave, they wouldn't budge. The neighbors gathered around to watch the commotion. In a fit of anger, Aunt Hui locked the door and left with tears in her eyes.
Wenlong thought to himself, "What's the big deal? Why get so angry? Cen Sigang has already regressed to the level of a child with intellectual disability. How can I take him seriously?" But he couldn't say it out loud, so he told Aunt Hui, "I'll go back and take care of him."
Bai Feng walked over to Wenlong and said, "Brother... don't cause trouble with anyone when you get back."
"I know." Wenlong ignored her in a huff. Cousin Feng probably sensed this, paused for a moment, and then followed.
"Still angry?" Bai Feng looked around to make sure no one was watching, and said softly.
"What are you angry about?" Wenlong pretended not to know, and continued walking as usual.
“I know you were angry that day, but I…”
He stopped and listened carefully.
Bai Feng cried softly. He panicked for a moment, wanting to comfort her but unable to, so he whispered, "Sister, why are you crying? I didn't bully you."
Hearing this, she cried even harder. Wenlong could only hold her shoulders and comfort her, "Alright, don't cry, I won't ask you for anything anymore." Seeing his cousin Feng's shoulders shaking, he tried to comfort her with heartache, but Bai Feng shook her shoulders and refused to accept his words.
Ignoring whether anyone was around, Wenlong gently put his arm around her shoulder and said tenderly, "Sister, what do you want me to do?"
"You think you can just let it go after bullying her?" Bai Feng suddenly stopped crying and said this, which warmed Wenlong's heart that had cooled down. He hugged her tightly with joy, almost kissing her.
"Silly sister, your brother hasn't bullied you enough yet."
Bai Feng chuckled, broke free from him, turned and ran away. Gazing at her pretty figure and swaying hips, he was enveloped in sweetness and tenderness. All the way home, he imagined his cousin Feng's charming words and intimate actions, completely forgetting about Cen Sigang. He walked home with light steps, the courtyard gate open.
Before he could even call out "Uncle Cen," he heard a long-lost voice that captivated him.
"Brother Wenlong, you're back." Shishi ran out of the house shyly.
A mix of surprise, astonishment, and bewilderment washed over me.
What a surprise... Shishi, whom I've been longing for day and night, has come home;
Stunned... Shishi, who was supposed to be back in a day, suddenly appeared before me; bewildered... I had just made an appointment with my cousin Feng, and now Shishi has arrived as promised.
How should he face the two of them?
Looking back at the courtyard gate, the half-closed wooden gate had only a crack, not enough to keep people out at all.
But he still opened his arms to welcome Shishi who rushed towards him.
I embraced it all, holding my entire youth in my arms.
"Why did you come back early?" Wenlong's longing and entanglement suddenly focused on the little girl in front of him.
"Why wouldn't you welcome me?" Shishi said playfully.
"Silly girl, I don't even have time to think about it." Wenlong gently touched Shishi's little mouth with his hand.
"Really?" I didn't expect Shishi, who had been away for several days, to be so playful.
"How about you touch this spot? I think about you every night," Wenlong said mischievously.
Shishi was unhappy and pouted, saying, "Bad brother, I haven't been home for so long, and now that I'm back..."
"What?" Wenlong glanced worriedly at the courtyard gate.
“Just being a hooligan. Hehe.” She said, and actually laughed out loud.
"If your brother is a hooligan, he would have raped you in the dorm." Wenlong grabbed her roughly around the waist and picked her up. "Tell your brother why you came back early?"
Shishi was a little out of breath from being squeezed. "The teachers at school have a meeting, and since it's almost holiday time, they shortened it by one day."
"Oh, so you didn't miss your brother after all." Wenlong put her down. "Has your dad woken up yet?"
"No." She suddenly waved her hand after saying that. "I meant my dad wasn't fully awake. Sigh, you're giving me two questions at once, how am I supposed to answer them?" Her playful big eyes blinked.
"So you mean you miss me, your dad?" Wenlong pressed on.
Shishi nodded solemnly, nestled in his arms, and said, "I...I miss you every night." Her voice even sounded a little sob.
She pressed her head tightly against his chest, stroking it.
"Tell Wenlong's father what he thinks."
"It's just...it's just..." Shishi described, but after stammering for a long time without explaining clearly, she got angry and said, "I'm not telling you anymore."
"Hehe." Wenlong went from hugging her to touching her butt.
The autumn wind blew in from the half-open courtyard gate, making even the grass in the corner rustle. Wenlong looked around guiltily again, then gently told Shishi, "Let's go inside." Shishi probably understood his request, blushed, and remained silent.
"Don't you miss Wenlong's dad? Then tell him properly what you think."
At this moment, Shishi's face turned as red as a cloth. She glared at him and muttered under her breath, "Bad dad."
"Daddy's bad? Come inside and I'll show you how bad Daddy is." Wenlong almost wanted to kiss Shishi, but hesitated because they would be seen in the open courtyard.
"Where's Mom?" Shishi seemed a little worried. To be honest, he wasn't afraid of Aunt Hui; it was Aunt Hui's matchmaking that brought him and Shishi together today. But what about Cen Sigang? What would happen if Uncle Cen woke up in a little while?
"Mom is in the hospital."
Shishi suddenly broke free from him. "Mom's in the hospital?" Seeing how worried Shishi was about her mother, his heart ached even more. After all, she was still his daughter; her love for her own mother was truly touching.
"No, your cousin Kong Wei is in the hospital."
"Oh, what's wrong with him?"
Shishi relaxed, her tense heart calming down as she kept smoothing the hair on her cheeks with both hands.
"There was a minor car accident, but it's nothing serious," Wenlong told her, emphasizing each word, though he was still eager to enjoy some alone time with her.
"Then...then shouldn't we go take a look?" Shishi is really starting to understand things.
"No need, I just came back from there, and besides, your mother has to stay there tonight."
The mention of spending the night with someone brought Wenlong's face to a deep red. This was something he'd never done before, especially considering his ambiguous relationship with Shishi and his cousin Feng. These past few days, his longing for Shishi had suddenly found its anchor, and his constant struggle with desire and passion with his cousin Feng seemed to have lessened his yearning for Shishi. But seeing Shishi again made him feel awkward.
Are men really like that, falling in love with every woman they see?
"Shishi, do you like your aunt Bai Feng?"
Standing face to face with Shishi, Wenlong suddenly wanted to ask this question. He didn't want Shishi to be sad if she found out about his relationship with Cousin Feng later.
"I like it!" Shishi said without hesitation. She had developed feelings for her aunt Bai Feng since she married into the Bai Feng family two years ago.
"What if Aunt Bai Feng likes the things you like?"
"Hehe, Dad is so stingy, just give it to her."
Wenlong was taken aback: "If you really like that thing, would you give it to her too?"
Shishi seemed to have really thought about it for a moment, and then nodded.
Silly girl!
"What if it's Wenlong's father?" he blurted out in his anxiety.
Shishi was startled, but then smiled happily, "Daddy, you're so funny! Can Daddy take it?"
“Dad can’t take it, but…” Wenlong approached her and said with difficulty, “But what if Aunt Baifeng also likes Wenlong’s dad…”
"You mean you like it as much as I do?" she asked, fiddling with the buttons on her chest.
"Hmm." He held Shishi's shoulder, waiting for her answer.
"Then I'll like it just like Aunt Bai Feng."
"Really?" Wenlong looked at Shishi with surprise and delight, his heart filled with joy as he gazed at the little girl's beautiful face. Was this little girl still oblivious to jealousy, or just completely unaware?
"Good girl!" Wenlong stood in front of the door, lovingly hugging Shishi and lowering his head to her chest. For the first time, he showed the tenderness of a big boy in her arms like a child. Some people say that a man only shows his tender side in front of the woman he loves.
