After finishing the "People Gone, Flowers Remain" series, I haven't written anything since. Recently, netizens have been sending private messages or contacting me on QQ about the reading permissions for the "last three articles." As I've mentioned before, this is likely a permission issue that you haven't seen. So, I'll repeat it again: by handing over the above articles to "69," I've essentially relinquished all rights to publish them on the online platform. What kind of reading permissions they set is none of my concern.
Today, I went to Little Woman's place to discuss a summer hiking trip with a couple (both teachers). Our route is planned to be from Shandong through Henan, then Anhui, and finally Jiangsu, returning home. I won't go into the details, but we usually take a long trip every year, either during winter or summer vacation, with unpredictable itineraries.
Regarding 69's plan to accept my single status, as I've mentioned before, Little Woman isn't very trusting of the internet. While she's not overly concerned, she still has considerable reservations, but after repeated persuasion, she's willing to "give it a try."
There's a netizen from Xinyang, Henan, who said he saw my articles on 69 Paradise and later added me as a QQ friend. I remember clearly that he said he was a single man. When I told him our city was a bit far, I mentioned it was during our first chat. My reply was roughly that distance might not be the biggest obstacle, and staying on QQ might lead to something more. Later, I remember he sent me a message, but I wasn't online and didn't reply immediately. I treat single men well; even without a chance, I rarely delete online friends without expressing remorse.
Today, when I saw him online and planned to contact him, my girlfriend was there watching me chat. I was confident that since this single man said he'd seen my messages, and it hadn't been long—no more than a week—he'd probably remember me. Unexpectedly, when I typed "hello," he replied, "Where are you from?" I told him where I was and mentioned we'd chatted before. He replied, "I forgot," and asked, "Are you a brother or a sister?"
When I mentioned I was the author of the "People Gone" series and that we planned to visit their city as a stop on our trip, I said I'd invite him to meet if he had time, and that we wouldn't charge him anything. He suddenly seemed to remember, saying, "I remember, my articles are very well written, I've read them many times," and so on.
I felt quite embarrassed at that moment, and the little woman just pouted at me. I bluntly told him that he gave me a bad feeling, not because I took myself too seriously, but because I felt that since he was a single man who had read my articles and added me, he should have at least some impression of me, at least in such a short time, he shouldn't have forgotten that I was someone who wanted to join our activities.
Of course, I'm absolutely not criticizing this guy here. In fact, many people are quite careless; they easily forget people and things they feel have no future with. My purpose in saying this is not to ask for your opinions on this guy, but because I have other single men on QQ, and I just hope to avoid similar awkward situations.
Everyone's habits, circumstances, and even moods are different. To those single gentlemen who want to join our story, I say this: Otherwise, I really can't imagine why you would add me, or how I should treat you.
