Our affair was purely extramarital, but we always addressed each other as "husband" and "wife," so to us we were no different from a real couple. We both shared a dream: to one day have our own little home, a child of our own, and a happy, sweet family of three.
However, there was always a problem between us, one I'm not afraid to tell you, even if it might seem laughable or confusing. Although our affair was illicit and wouldn't be accepted by most, he had another woman before me, and that woman had given birth to his daughter (something we didn't know before we fell in love). But to win me back, he resolutely broke off his relationship with that woman. The only thing that involved them was their illegitimate daughter; that woman, in order to get revenge on him, resolutely refused to let him see his daughter. So, before the Lunar New Year last year, he and that woman were fighting over custody and visitation rights. This was done with his wife's knowledge; but I couldn't accept it. So, when he talked to that woman about paying monthly child support in exchange for visitation rights, I gave him a difficult problem. I directly told him that if he insisted on fighting for the daughter, then it was over between us. Originally, I was really prepared to end everything with him that time because I knew how important that illegitimate daughter was to him. But unexpectedly, he gave up his daughter and chose me in desperation; so we got back together.
