Should I grant her request?

My wife and I have been discussing threesomes for a while now, and recently she's started chatting with a single man, but things haven't progressed much. It's not that my wife lacks desire, but she has someone she's interested in and wants to be his mistress! She's not particularly interested in the single man.
I feel that the purpose of these activities should be physical release and pleasure, and to strengthen our marital bond. If emotions are involved, it becomes complicated and uncontrollable, especially since my wife is the type to act on impulse!
I'm conflicted about my wife's thinking. Deep down, I support and encourage her, but realistically, I feel it threatens our marriage. Although we argue and bicker, we've been married for many years; we have feelings and familial ties, and we can't sever ties.
I hope my wife can have some kind of relationship with the single man she's currently with, and that she participates from the perspective of physical pleasure and marital enjoyment, rather than becoming his mistress (who isn't a very good person). I don't know if I'm doing this right. I've been very conflicted lately and would like some advice, especially from those with experience in this area, to offer some constructive suggestions!
