These past few days happened to be the May Day holiday, and we took an extra three days off to make it a long break. My wife and I embarked on a road trip, spending two days exploring Zeng Guofan's hometown and nearby attractions.
With plenty of time, we took our time. Besides sightseeing, we enjoyed local farm-style dishes at each meal. It was wonderful!
Last night at dinner, my wife mentioned she had arranged to eat with some of her university classmates who now work nearby. I said I didn't know them well and wouldn't join them.
During dinner, my wife sent several photos of her classmates. They all seemed to be doing well; they were well-dressed, had rosy complexions, and maintained good figures. …
My wife later messaged me on WeChat, saying she was going to go to karaoke.

When my wife returned to the hotel, I was already asleep.

The next morning at breakfast, I asked my wife what time she got back last night. She replied: Before 12:30. I asked: Did you have a good time? Any stories? She answered: I had a good time, no stories.
