That unforgettable and wonderful experience in Japan

The following story is based on my wife's account, which I've edited and slightly embellished, but the basic framework is true. Today's itinerary was to take the children to a craft workshop in the suburbs to experience the meticulous craftsmanship of the Japanese. The bus ride from the city to our destination took over an hour. We've been here for three days now, and every day has been so fulfilling and enjoyable. Gradually, I've forgotten all the unpleasantness I felt before the trip. Being in an unfamiliar place with some new and interesting people is truly a healing balm for a broken heart. After the children had settled down, chattering away, Shin-Yu plopped down in the empty seat next to me in the first row. I quickly moved aside, trying to maintain a proper distance. He stood up again, loudly explaining the precautions to the children, then called the driver to depart, and finally sat down again, this time almost on my lap, one hand seemingly unintentionally resting on my thigh. I pulled down the hem of my short skirt and tried to move further in, but found there was nowhere left to retreat. Shin-Yu turned to look at me, his gaze complex, and I quickly lowered my head. Over the past three days, his intentional and unintentional physical contact with me has become increasingly frequent. He sat close to me, leaving a large empty space on his outer side. For over three months, no man had been this close to me, especially not this nearly 50-year-old man, so incredibly charming. Even I, a 35-year-old woman, couldn't help but feel my heart flutter. The car started moving, and the children chatted happily. But I was beginning a torturous journey.
