Tonight I choose to be alone.

Since starting university, I've returned to my hometown every year, but since my mother passed away, the time for my return has become fixed at this time of year! The last activity before leaving my hometown is always a small gathering with classmates in Xi'an, but tonight's planned gathering was canceled at the last minute because she had to work overtime.

She and I met in high school; we both have feelings for each other, but we both have our own families now, and we both tell ourselves that we'll stay friends forever!

My trips back to my hometown are limited, so we don't see each other every year, but each time I come back, I always let her know in advance whether I want to see her or not. This time, we had arranged to meet before I came back (with her husband), but today, unintentionally, "plans never go as expected" perfectly illustrated the saying!

Around 8 PM, she called me, saying she had finished working overtime and asked where I was, wanting to meet up, but I hesitated! Did I not want to meet? No, because I specifically brought a bottle of red wine with me before coming back, just for the gathering! Should I meet her? I don't know why, but I came up with a flimsy excuse—I've been working overtime all week, I should go home and rest early, see you next time!

I'm leaving Xi'an tomorrow. Right now, in my hotel room, I'm opening 69 (a type of Chinese liquor), drinking alone, and reminiscing about that one and only time we shared.

I'm a leg enthusiast, I love admiring slender, beautiful legs, and I hope to meet a destined couple in Xi'an!
