Just like a story or a novel, here's the third installment of my love triangle with my husband and best friend.

After a passionate encounter, there was an awkward silence. Did I cheat on my husband? Not really, but I was still a little unsatisfied. Chao Niu had enjoyed herself, but I hadn't quite reached that level of satisfaction. After washing up, Chao Niu sat on the bed, staring at me intently. "You raped me! How could you do this? You already have a child!" she muttered, probably feeling quite confused. I know Chao Niu is always a keyboard warrior, always talking about sleeping with handsome men and male models, but it's all just talk. She really does want a foreigner, but she also wants someone conservative. What happened today? I was a little worried. Chao Niu suddenly jumped out of bed. "Didi, get me some clothes. Let's go for a walk and have a good chat." I thought about it and agreed. Chao Niu and I changed clothes. I saw her bending over to put on her underwear, and for some reason, I reached out and pinched her butt. "Hmm, quite perky." I pinched and twisted it, and Chao Niu started to react again. She quickly finished dressing, speaking a little shyly. In June, she wore hot pants and a plaid shirt, her ponytail giving off a youthful vibe. She asked me for a pair of classic Converse sneakers and kept adjusting herself in front of the dressing mirror by the door. I was also wearing a red athletic shorts and Adidas running shoes. Standing together, we were evenly matched, our white thighs quite eye-catching. Chao Niu was a bit thinner than me. My husband was peeking again, and I noticed. Chao Niu was still swinging her legs, and my husband, sitting on the sofa, was practically staring. Unfortunately, Chao Niu didn't like him. She'd always disliked slightly chubby engineering guys; she preferred the Western style with sharp features. I didn't mind letting him have his eye on her.

After leaving the house, Chao Niu jogged. Wearing business attire and high heels year-round is incredibly uncomfortable. Those pencil skirts and high heels are too tiring for the feet, and the consequence is bunions. Working women already face immense pressure, and balancing work and family is difficult. Chao Niu told me that the foreign boss they were negotiating with had a psychological expert training them. They were instructed to wear ultra-thin black stockings with 10cm high heels, and that the chest area of their business attire should only be slightly exposed—not too much—to attract the other party's attention and showcase their sex appeal. They were to use every legal and overt action to distract the opponent, but absolutely not to seduce them. Chao Niu talked as she walked, explaining that foreign companies have specialized training in this area, including walking posture and tone of voice control—it's a complex subject. As they walked and talked, Chao Niu complained about the hypocrisy of the foreigners, saying they clearly wanted to sleep with the men but had to avoid suspicion. As we chatted, we arrived at the Huangpu River. I said, "Chao Niu, our relationship isn't some superficial bestie; we're genuine friends, you and I both know that. What happened today is actually normal; we were just playing a game. Since we're both women, I don't have to worry about cheating on my husband." I have to admit I felt a bit hot and passionate in the afternoon, but unfortunately, it didn't reach its peak. Chao Niu rolled her eyes at me, saying, "Don't act innocent. I'm the one who got raped." Chao Niu, having lived abroad, quickly adjusted her mindset and told me, "Forget it, she's not very good herself; I took her down in a few moves." She even asked me where I learned these techniques from, saying I sounded like a pro. I told her honestly that my husband uses them on me all the time, and I'm familiar with it, but I'm slow to react. I didn't expect it to be so effective on someone else. Chao Niu blushed and said, "It's not as effective as the handsome guys I know. I just haven't had time to do it lately." "Don't be stubborn, it'll probably take a long time," I said, hitting her sore spot with one sentence. Chao Niu was speechless and insisted that I make it up to her. I suddenly thought, "Why don't you comfort Weiwei for me and discipline him a bit?" Chao Niu rolled her eyes and said bluntly, "I don't want a fat otaku, I want a handsome guy." I felt sorry for my husband; he wouldn't even take him for free. As dusk fell, the banks of the Huangpu River were ablaze with flowers. We strolled slowly, and Chao Niu talked about her hardships abroad. The conversation eventually returned to the past. She was dissatisfied with my husband when I got married and even tried to persuade me to elope abroad. We sometimes had a competitive spirit, comparing our figures, faces, and academic achievements. After seeing my husband, she thought he wasn't good enough and was secretly pleased that I would be better than Didi. However, Chao Niu was upset in the days leading up to my wedding, especially after seeing my wedding photos. She felt I had been cheated on. She always believed that women like us should marry a rich and handsome man. Chao Niu felt indignant on my behalf. No wonder she kept telling me to think carefully and not get caught up in marriage. Later, seeing how good my husband was to me, she gave up on that idea. I also told her that the first reason I chose my husband was because of his good character and support for my work. He always took care of me, even though I worked so much overtime. Many of my female colleagues suffered from irregular periods, menstrual cramps, joint pain, and cervical spondylosis – all because they were so busy. My husband bought me traditional Chinese medicine, multivitamins, and a massage chair. Whenever I came home, he would give me massages and acupressure. My good health is largely thanks to him. So I try my best to make up for it at home and with my in-laws. I also try to be cooperative in our sex life, even if I don't feel anything, I let him release his pent-up emotions. The second reason was that our families were well-matched; we are both only children. I told Chao Niu that marriage isn't about finding a boyfriend; matching social status is very important. Find someone who likes you, not someone you like. Chao Niu and I chatted until after 8 pm, sitting on a bench by the river, each with a can of beer, enjoying the evening breeze. It was very comfortable and pleasant. Chao Niu was singing by the river when she suddenly noticed my husband playing on his phone in the distance. I told her it was okay; he was just following us out to protect us but didn't want to disturb us, so he was just keeping a distance. I told him to call us when we got home. Chao Niu thoughtfully told me she understood my choice a little. I told her that whether it's a state-owned enterprise, a private company, or a foreign company, a successful career woman's family needs to find someone with a good temper to avoid divorce, otherwise her future is uncertain. Many female leaders are glamorous in public but cry at home; their personalities become distorted. If you don't want to give up your career, you need to find a reliable partner. Chao Niu told me she's never really wanted to get married; having a stable home makes her feel constrained, and that feeling doesn't suit her.
