The prequel to the wives' relay
Four months after graduating from university, as the year drew to a close, Zang Qing and his university classmates Yin Li and Xia Xiaolei had earned enough
money to travel. They decided to go to Northeast China, where travel expenses were cheap and there was plenty of snow to enjoy in winter.
They first arrived in Harbin, enjoying the various activities of this northern ice city in winter, and were filled with excitement. They then wanted
to see the snow-covered forests they had longed for since their childhood. Not the snow-covered forests of the novels,
but the forests they imagined they could see simply by hopping on a misty little train and leaving the big city.
They were both romantic and impulsive young people, and their ideas always seemed to coincide, which was one of the reasons why they could travel together
