In a mere tug-of-war, Xiaoxue was snatched away. I stood there, dumbfounded, my limbs weak and powerless. Xiaoxue cried and struggled, "Uncle, uncle, don't leave me, uncle!"
A loud "smack!"
"Uncle my ass! This isn't your dad!"
A young man slapped Xiaoxue across the face, leaving five finger marks on her rosy cheeks instantly. "What are you yelling about? If you weren't your father, I'd sell you for money!"
Boom! My head suddenly started ringing, my eyes turned slightly red, and boundless anger surged in my heart. The pain made it difficult to breathe.
"Damn it, let her go!"
I don't know what I was thinking, but I suddenly yelled, rushed forward a few steps, kicked away the young man who had hit Xiaoxue, snatched Xiaoxue back, and held her in my arms.
Little Xue burst into tears, crying, "Uncle, uncle, don't sell me for money, please don't!"
"Don't worry, it won't happen!"
I chuckled, but before I could turn around, a fist smashed into my head with the black side.
"Pfft, pfft, pfft, pfft!" I was pinned to the ground by three young men and given a brutal beating. Xiaoxue, however, was held tightly in my arms and was unaffected.
"Uncle," Xiaoxue said, tears streaming down her face, as she reached out her little hand to wipe the blood from the corner of my mouth.
I forced a smile, enduring the pain from the blows hitting my back, and chuckled, "It's okay, Xiaoxue, don't cry. They'll stop when they're tired. Ouch!" The people around me were immediately shocked, some even taking out their phones to take pictures. Several older people shouted, "They're hitting someone! Call the police! Go and try to stop them!"
But no one actually stepped forward. Instead, more and more people gathered to watch. Just then, a loud shout came from behind us.
"Hey, that's enough, you lot. You're causing trouble on my turf. Did you even give me a heads-up?"
The three young men who were beating me turned around and saw a burly man in black leading three or four henchmen with various dyed hair styles emerge from the crowd. Two of the men with white hair pushed the three men aside, helped me to the side, and immediately swore, "You motherfucker, you're a real coward!"
"Ah Shui, this coward is actually not so bad, there's still hope for him!"
I'd been kicked in the head countless times and was feeling a bit dizzy. Hearing their conversation, I chuckled, "Even cowards have guts."
