Chapter Six: Sisterly Affection

Friday, the third floor of the Westin Five-Star Hotel in Jiankang City was bustling with activity, filled with people of considerable status.

Today, Professor Zhen Shouyi, Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Jiankang University and the first successor to the university's president this year, was celebrating the one-month anniversary of his granddaughter's birth.

Aside from some relatives, the majority of attendees were Professor Zhen's friends and colleagues, as well as some who had made preparations in advance for various interests.

Everyone found their seats and sat down.

A refined man who looked to be around 55 or 56 years old stood up from the main table to thank everyone for coming. This was the dean of the School of Economics and Management at Jiankang University. He had a square face, fair skin for a man, and was not tall, around 173 cm. He must have been quite handsome in his youth. Now, he was overweight and exuded an air of scholarly refinement.

"Old Zhen is beaming with joy..." A short, stout man with a large beer belly said somewhat sourly to his friend next to him.

"The dean has a granddaughter, of course he's happy..." said a man dressed head-to-toe in designer brands, but who looked like a township cadre from the 1980s. This man named Wei Zheng walked out of the restaurant and went directly to the guest rooms by elevator.

Inside the restaurant, the atmosphere was lively, with everyone focused on Zhen Shouyi, as if today wasn't a baby's full moon celebration but rather a victory celebration for Zhen Shouyi's appointment as principal.

A few minutes later, a slender, elegant woman, carefully carrying a child, entered the hall, immediately attracting everyone's attention. The man named Wei Zheng attentively accompanied her.
