"You dance very smoothly!" the dance teacher said. "The three-step is also called a waltz, or a ballet; smoothness is its characteristic!" I replied casually.

I, a half-baked dancer, was nothing more than a beginner in her presence.
It was nine o'clock, the event was over, but I didn't leave. I stayed to help her pack up the sound equipment. It turned out she lived nearby and was the principal of a private kindergarten. Her husband was a designer at an advertising company, often working late into the night. With their child back in their hometown, they were bored in the evenings, and being a former kindergarten teacher, they taught dance in the square—partly to earn some extra money, and partly to pass the time. I walked her to the gate of Zhongshan Park and waved goodbye. Our first meeting passed by quietly and uneventfully.
