On the afternoon of July 20th, Haiyang arrived early and checked into a Home Inn near our accommodation. He then waited for us outside the Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital. We arrived after work at 4:30 PM. We got into Haiyang's car. Because Haiyang had mentioned he wanted to give his wife a small gift, he drove to a nearby shopping mall. Haiyang accompanied his wife shopping while I waited in the car. Half an hour later, the two returned to the car. It turned out Haiyang had bought his wife a gold-plated leg chain; Hongyan later told me it cost around 1200 yuan. Afterwards, the three of us went to a restaurant for dinner. We ordered fish, which my wife likes, and other dishes, and ate and chatted. During the meal, Haiyang received a phone call. After saying only a few words, he walked to the side to answer it. A while later, when he returned, he sounded somewhat unnatural. It turned out it was a call from Haiyang's wife, who had probably discovered something and wanted him to return to Gongzhuling immediately. Seeing this, we considerately asked Haiyang to cancel the room reservation and go back to handle his business. We could discuss the date later. The second date ended in failure once again.
