It all started with discovering his wife's infidelity.

This story is based on my true life experience; it's a long story, so let's break it down slowly.

For the past two years of our marriage, my wife has maintained the habit of staying at her parents' house every weekend. Initially, I took it for granted; it was a rare opportunity to have drinks and chat with friends and let loose.
The turning point came during last year's May Day holiday. My wife wasn't home on the first and second nights of the holiday, and everything proceeded as usual. However, on the second night, around 8 pm, she called me saying she had a cold and wasn't feeling well, and needed to rest early. Without thinking much of it, I hung up and continued having dinner with friends. Coincidentally, the gathering ended much earlier than usual, around 9 pm. Thinking of surprising my wife, I drove over an hour to my father-in-law's house to bring her medicine. (Perhaps she thought it was too far for me to go.)
