As dawn broke, a few people were already moving about on the streets. People driving manure carts and water pumps cracked their whips and sped through the alleys.

With a high-pitched voice, Geng Zhilong, dressed in a bright yellow dragon robe, walked onto the equally bright yellow dragon throne inlaid with gold and jade, surrounded by seven or eight eunuchs. He looked relaxed, with an irrepressible smile in his eyes. He quickly glanced at the assembled officials and breathed a sigh of relief. The court was finally cleaned up, and no one would jump out at any time to point fingers at him or hinder him at every turn.
Just as the morning court session was announced to begin, a eunuch rushed into the hall in a panic, trembling as he said, "Your Majesty, something terrible has happened!
