Time seems to have jumped back to early summer 2015. I was a first-year graduate student, working full-time. Being able to take several months of paid leave after starting work and immerse myself in university studies felt like a return to childhood. However, the law courses at law school were incredibly dry and boring. My favorite courses were the legal history series—Western and Chinese legal history—which offered a unique perspective on human progress by examining the evolution and development of law. The other law courses, on the other hand, made me want to fall asleep.
