It's been a few years since we first met, and my partner accepted, but we haven't found a truly satisfactory place. It's not that we have high demands; we just want a nice location. Why is it so difficult? Thinking back to that failed exchange, I still feel a bit depressed. I think it was July 2010. I was browsing a forum—I won't say which one here—when a friend added us on QQ. We chatted about everything under the sun. They were from Nanjing, older than us (we were 26 or 27), maybe 35 or 33. We chatted for over two hours, and I suggested we video chat.
The man said the video was broken, then asked if we could help him. My partner and I discussed it and agreed.
After the video call, I asked if it was my older brother or sister-in-law. He replied that it was my older brother and said that my sister-in-law was asleep. He looked at my wife and immediately said that he was coming to find us.
Oh dear, I didn't refuse verbally, but I was thinking, this is too fast. We've only been chatting for a little over two hours, and we haven't even met them yet. He asked me for his contact number. Since it was our first time, we weren't worried about the consequences at all, so we gave it to him (now that I think about it, it was a bit rash). After that, we chatted casually for a bit and then logged off.
The phone rang the next afternoon. I answered, and wow, they'd actually come to our city! I thought to myself, "Who are they? They came without even seeing us! And they didn't even tell us they were coming!" Despite my complaints, I was honestly quite excited. I told them to wait for me, that I had something to do, and I'd call them back in 10 minutes. Actually, I wanted to tell my partner. After hanging up, I went to the shop and secretly told my partner (there were still employees there). My partner was also surprised. What should we do? They're here; we can't just ignore them. After discussing it, we decided to tell them when we saw them. (I'll stop here for now, it's too late, time to sleep.)
