Lotus Pond Flesh Color

"I love liveliness, and I also love tranquility; I love being in a group, and I also love being alone." This is a line from Zhu Ziqing's essay "Lotus Pond by Moonlight," which I read in middle school. Now I have a new understanding: married couples are alone, while *** are in a group.
Zhu Ziqing continued, "I shall enjoy this boundless fragrance of lotus and moonlight." The word "enjoy" is quite sensual, and he then went on to describe the lotus leaves as "like the skirt of a graceful dancer " and "a beauty just out of the bath." Now, thinking about it, a middle-aged man's "lotus pond under the moonlight" is simply a form of wishful thinking.
Before and after Zhu Ziqing strolled amidst the lotus blossoms and moonlight, his wife was either soothing their child or fast asleep. Now that she's married, she understands Zhu Ziqing's melancholy. His wife has become the mother of his child, and he at home is simply the father. Passion and love have ultimately transformed into tenderness and familial affection. Therefore, the first line, "These past few days my heart has been quite restless," becomes understandable. Zhu Ziqing could only leave home to find a "lover," but he wasn't one of us who lived through 2012; ultimately, he could only find these virtual lovers—the lotus blossoms and moonlight—to indulge in fantasies.
So, "Lotus Pond by Moonlight" is actually a repressed, sensual image of a man with a lecherous heart. How sexually fulfilled Zhu Ziqing would be if he lived today.
