My Second Sister-in-Law and My Stockings Story

Xu Li is my distant second sister-in-law. The reason I call her sister-in-law is because everyone in our village is surnamed Wang, so when we meet people in the village, we call them brother and sister-in-law, uncle and elder brother very affectionately.
I first met my second sister-in-law on her wedding night. There were many people making a ruckus that night. My second sister-in-law was wearing a red cotton-padded jacket and red cotton-padded trousers. A group of young men pressed her down on the kang (a heated brick bed) and said they wanted to count how many ribs she had.
Here, wedding night pranks are usually quite fierce. The prettier the bride, the more wildly people make them, mostly just to take advantage of the situation. I was young then, probably fourteen or fifteen. I just watched the fun and didn't participate. But my sister-in-law got really into it and started fighting back. She kicked and thrashed about.
A young man asked me to hold my second sister-in-law's feet. She was wearing red nylon stockings with yellow flowers, which looked beautiful. I secretly longed to touch those feet, but I knew it wasn't something I could just touch whenever I wanted. Since the young man asked me to hold her feet, I was more than happy to oblige. So I immediately took her feet into my arms.
