"The Concubine" - Chapter 54: This King Did Not Deceive You

Gao Yan fucked her for a long time, and the sturdy canopy bed beneath him began to creak in the latter half of the night, but Hua Jin stubbornly held on and did not faint.

"Hmm." Hua Jin was drowsy and barely managed to respond, wondering why he had suddenly brought this up.
The King of Longxi was full of energy. It would be dawn in another hour or two, but he still insisted on talking to Hua Jin: "The army is short of money right now. It would be inappropriate if the people below knew that I was so extravagant."
Hua Jin was impatient with all of this and didn't listen at all. She just wrapped her arms around him and gently bit his shoulder blade: "Your Highness, I'm sleepy. Let's talk about it tomorrow, shall we?"
These words came out softly, leaving her completely stunned, burying her head in his burning chest.
Gao Yan stroked her hair without saying a word. The little woman in his arms soon became still. The man looked down and saw that she had closed her eyes and was completely asleep.
He stared at her for a while, his brows furrowing, and he said in a hoarse voice, "Fine, if you're not willing, I can wait a little longer."
Hua Jin slept for a long time before waking up. When she did, her two maids, who had been instructed to keep watch outside the curtain, heard the commotion inside and Xia He softly called out, "Do you want to get up?"
Hua Jin responded, and Xia He and Xia Cao were about to lift the curtain and go in to serve when the King of Longxi suddenly strode in. Before Xia He and Xia Cao could kneel, he waved for them to leave.
Gao Yan carried in a porcelain bowl. Hua Jinren was not fully awake yet, sitting on the bed in a daze, clutching a quilt. When he approached, she seemed startled, then looked up and said, "Your Highness."
Gao Yan, seeing her looking so cruelly abused, couldn't bear to let go. He put down the porcelain bowl in his hand, hugged her, and nibbled at her a few times before stopping.
Hua Jin lightly punched him, coquettishly saying, "Your Highness, I haven't washed and dressed yet."
"It's alright." Gao Yan brought the medicine over and handed it to her.
Hua Jin held the bowl without saying a word.
Gao Yan said expressionlessly, "This is a contraceptive. Smell it; it doesn't smell like before. I'm not lying to you this time."
"Thank you, Your Highness." Hua Jin drank it all in one gulp upon hearing this.
This medicine is much more bitter than before, but she doesn't mind at all.
Gao Yan frowned as he looked at her, still feeling uneasy for a long time. He swallowed hard and said, "I'm leaving the manor. If you still feel unwell later, have Yang Su take you back."
"I understand." She looked up at him after drinking the medicine, a drop of brown liquid still clinging to the corner of her lips.
The man reached out and wiped it away.
Hua Jin hesitated for a moment, but said nothing. She simply watched him leave with a calm expression.
The Prince of Longxi, who had originally said he was going to leave the palace, had just stepped out of the courtyard when he summoned his personal guards: "Go and summon Doctor He to the outer courtyard. I have something to tell him."
