"Xiao Li, starting tomorrow, you will be in charge of the night shift."
"Okay, Manager Xu, I certainly won't let you down."
It was already 4 a.m. when the handover was completed.
"Then you guys go back first, I'll finish organizing and uploading these last few files."
Xu Hang finished organizing and filing the work documents, and another half hour passed. He whistled as he strolled out of the office, only to find that the elevator had stopped running.
He cursed inwardly at the new property management staff for not knowing the rules, actually cutting off the elevator power at the end of the workday. Helpless, he turned towards the stairwell.
Getting down from the 15th floor where the company is located is no easy task.
Five minutes later, he finally reached the second floor. Suddenly, he stepped on something on the ground and slipped.
He hurriedly reached out to grab the railing, but grasped only air. Then, he heard the sound of the back of his head hitting the stairs.
In an instant, everything before my eyes turned pitch black.

"Xu Hang".
"Old Xu, Old Xu..."
"Little Xu."
"Brother Ah-Xu..."
Many voices swirled and echoed in his mind, trying to wake him up.
He didn't want to wake up yet. He was too tired; he just wanted to sleep soundly.
But those voices were persistent, calling out to him again and again.
"Kyon, Kyon..."
The sound grew louder and louder, finally transforming into a giant hand that grabbed his body and lifted him into the air. A crack appeared in the previously gray sky, and Xu Hang felt himself enveloped in light.
"Kyon, Kyon, you're awake?" A surprised voice rang out from beside the bed. "Doctor, go and call the doctor..."
Xu Hang rubbed his blurry eyes, trying to make out the scene before him.
"Teacher Ruan...?"
The on-duty doctor was summoned by Shen Qiushou. He examined Xu Hang, who was still in a daze, and then said to them, "He should be fine now. But he still needs to be observed for a few more days."
"What... what's wrong with me?" Xu Hang asked, bewildered.
"You must have fallen and hit the back of your head, and fainted in the stairwell of the company building." Shen Qiushou pressed a button to raise one end of the hospital bed, making it easier for Xu Hang to sit up and speak.
"Ah... I remember now, I stepped on something..." Xu Hang reached out to scratch his head, but Ruan Nuo stopped him. Only then did he realize that his head was wrapped in gauze.
"Mr. Shen, Ms. Ruan, did you take me to the hospital?"
Ruan Nuo shook her head, gave him a deep look, and said, "It was Xiao Xiao. She called 120 and brought you here."
Xu Hang then learned what had happened during the two days he was unconscious.
He didn't get home on time that day. Chu Xiao called him several times, but no one answered. She knew something must have happened.
At 7 a.m., no one usually goes through the fire escape. Therefore, no one noticed Xu Hang's situation.
Chu Xiao contacted Ruan Nuo immediately. However, Ruan Nuo's phone was in Do Not Disturb mode on weekend mornings, so she wasn't woken up by his call.
Perhaps out of concern, she panicked, contrary to her usual behavior, and couldn't think of any other solution for the moment.
Then, miraculously, she stood up. Relying on her own strength, she staggered to Xu Hang's company.
Xu Hang was not found in his office or along his usual route. His phone remained unanswered.
Then, with the help of the property management, she retrieved the surveillance footage and discovered that Xu Hang had entered the fire escape. This allowed them to find the unconscious Xu Hang in the shortest possible time.

"Wait, Teacher Ruan, are you saying that Chu Xiao can stand up?" Xu Hang asked, his eyes wide.
“Yes, otherwise you would have been in serious trouble this time,” Ruan Nuo nodded.
"Great... Ouch!" Xu Hang excitedly sat up in bed, but the oxygen tube got wrapped around his neck and he fell back down.
"Don't get agitated." Ruan Nuo quickly got up to help him straighten the tubes and said, "The doctor said you shouldn't have too many emotional fluctuations right now, after all, it's a concussion. I persuaded Chu Xiao for a long time before she agreed to go back and rest for a while. If she comes back and finds that your condition has worsened, she will definitely blame me."
“Yeah, you better behave yourself. You got five or six stitches in your head,” Shen Qiushou chimed in. “I heard from the security guard that you hit your head on the steps. You fell down in the stairwell, and there was a small pool of blood. It was really scary.”

Xu Hang nodded solemnly.

"It's nothing." Ruan Nuo stopped talking and looked at him meaningfully. "You'll know the day after tomorrow."

When Xu Hang woke up from his afternoon nap, Chu Xiao was already sitting in front of his hospital bed.

Suddenly, many images flashed before Xu Hang's eyes: Chu Xiao lying expressionlessly in bed; Chu Xiao struggling to survive under his care; Chu Xiao indulging in passionate lovemaking with him; Chu Xiao utterly exhausted after his physical therapy...

They kissed for a long time until the nurse knocked on the door and came in to change Xu Hang's IV drip.
They hurriedly separated. Xu Hang's oxygen tube had been ripped off, and his hands were now wreaking havoc inside Chu Xiao's underwear.
Seemingly noticing that Chu Xiao's clothes were somewhat disheveled, the nurse gave her a few strange looks.
Chu Xiao's pretty face turned bright red. As soon as the nurse left the ward, she reached out her finger to flick him on the head, but remembering his condition, she could only reluctantly withdraw it, and instead pinched the soft flesh on his waist.
Xu Hang grimaced in pain, but he felt that the faint barrier between him and Chu Xiao had vanished.
"Xiao Xiao".
"Um?"
"It's so good to see you back."

"Then I'll come and bring it to you again tomorrow morning." Chu Xiao packed his things and said, "I'm going back now. Someone will come to take care of you today."
Xu Hang had assumed that Ruan Nuo would be the one to take over. He was even a little puzzled as to why Chu Xiao hadn't spent any more time with him before leaving.
An hour later, he found out the answer.

The ward door was gently opened, and a small head peeked out from behind it, looking around at the situation inside the ward.
Xu Hang wasn't asleep. Soon, their eyes met.
"Brother Kyon~!"
"Tingting!"
Xu Hang sat up from the hospital bed and hugged the petite body that rushed towards him tightly.
"Brother Ah Xu... Waaah... Tingting... Tingting misses you so much!"
Hearing the girl's tearful confession, Xu Hang felt a mix of emotions swirling within him, and for a moment he was at a loss for words.
He could only hold Jiang Tingting tightly, gently stroking her neck and back.
