Gu Qingyin huddled up, cold and hungry. The two maids who had been sent to her were respectful, bringing her a meal and some tea, but she barely touched it. She was seething with anger and unwilling to be trapped here like this.
She tried several excuses to go out, but was stopped each time. "Lord Gu, you cannot go out before the General returns to the manor."

She knew her chance had come. She kept changing her seating position, trying to find any flaws in the row of carved French windows. Just now, she finally found one that wasn't locked. Seizing the opportunity, she quickly pushed open the window, used all the strength she had gathered to leap out, and landed lightly in the grass outside the window. Then she turned around and closed the window.
She knew that once the maid returned, she would discover that she had escaped, so she had to get as far away as possible in this very short time.
Taking a deep breath, she dragged her limp body and fled along the only path.
Fortunately, she was lucky. Not far behind the martial arts training room was a side door leading to a quiet alley, which was a place specifically for the mansion to purchase goods and transport them in and out.
When she arrived at the door, she could already hear commotion inside the training room. She glanced back, and by the moonlight, she quickly unlocked the door and went out.

Just as she was fretting, she suddenly noticed a carriage parked not far away. The horses were strong and snorted softly. The carriage was quite large and made of very fine wood. Although she couldn't see the markings on the carriage, she knew that the person who owned such a carriage must be very rich and powerful.
At this moment, the candlelight inside the carriage flickered, and this soft glow had a fatal attraction for travelers on their way through the cold winter night.
After a moment's thought, Gu Qingyin decided to get in the car first. She was already too weak to withstand the chilling cold, so she might as well try her luck and see if she could find an acquaintance in the officialdom.
She quietly boarded the carriage from the back, where there was a slightly ajar door. Once inside, she discovered that the carriage was truly exquisite. She entered a small, independent space filled with clothes, bedding, and brocades. It was not a place for people to sit, but it was comfortably furnished. This was exactly what she wanted. She casually pulled out a large quilt and covered herself with it, curling up inside. Instantly, she felt much better.
She pressed her ear against the partition; it was quiet beside her, and the owner of the carriage seemed not to be in the carriage.
She collapsed onto a pile of brocade fabric, the quiet and temporarily safe environment making her feel drowsy.
Suddenly, she heard very soft voices coming from nearby, and because she was so close, she could hear them clearly.
"Sir, the general is not in the manor now, what should we do?" It was a young man's voice, his tone somewhat urgent.
The other person was silent for a moment, then said, "Go to the villa in the suburbs." The voice was soft, languid, yet calm.
"Sir, that's quite a distance. Can your injury withstand it?"
"Just go." It was the same voice, calm, composed, and languid.
Gu Qingyin's heart trembled, and she sat up in shock, feeling as if she had fallen into an ice cave.
