What's the psychology behind a man falling asleep immediately after sex?

Many women complain about their men's performance after sex. Most men choose to fall asleep immediately afterward, and they do indeed fall asleep very quickly. This phenomenon displeases many women, who feel that after taking what they wanted, they no longer need them and just go to sleep, ignoring them. Many women likely share this sentiment. So, what psychology is behind men falling asleep immediately after sex?
What's the psychology behind a man falling asleep immediately after sex?
Men often fall asleep immediately after sex, which frustrates their partners. Now, French neuroscientists have found the perfect "excuse" for men: they too have no choice in the matter.
Researchers who scanned male brain activity during and after orgasm found that the cerebral cortex plays a crucial role in attention, consciousness, and perceptual sensitivity. Once a man reaches orgasm, his brain shuts down almost all sexual signals, and is subsequently flooded with chemicals that induce sleep, such as serotonin and oxytocin. However, the situation is different for women: they do not experience the same strong refractory period as men and may even desire more after one round.
This study, published in the *Journal of Neuroscience & Biological Behaviour Review*, suggests that women shouldn't criticize men for needing rest after "hard work," as men have higher muscle density and therefore tend to feel more tired after sex. Furthermore, orgasm depletes glycogen stores in men, also contributing to fatigue. However, a significant number of men report not getting sufficient relaxation and rest after sex.
At the Vitality Show, Europe's largest health and beauty trade fair, a survey of more than 10,000 adult attendees revealed that a staggering 80% of men said they would involuntarily fall asleep after sex, compared to only 46% of women. Furthermore, 48% of men reported falling asleep during sex.
This article teaches us that a man falling asleep immediately after sex is a physiological need and has nothing to do with whether he loves you or not. Women shouldn't overthink things; some of these concerns are unnecessary. After reading this research, do you feel like you've been being a bit unreasonable lately?
