(I)

I went to Xihai Company to interview female drug trafficker Chen Xiuting and to write a novel about the inside story of a drug trafficking organization.

The hotel is located west of the red wall, only about 200 meters from the beach. The west gate of the factory area is to the north of the hotel.

On the first day, Manager Hua took me to the company hospital for a medical check-up, necessary for entering the production area. Then we toured the various facilities in the living area, and she even invited me to her home. From her home, one could tell that Xihai Company was indeed a very powerful enterprise.

The next day, after breakfast, Manager Hua came to the hotel to take me on a tour of the factory. To facilitate my interviews with Chen Xiuting over the next two weeks, Manager Hua gave me a temporary factory pass.

From the outside, the west gate of the factory appears to be just a traditional Chinese gatehouse; upon entering, I realized it was also the main entrance to a large hall.
