There are two ways to perform a waist massage exercise. This exercise can be performed once in the morning and once in the evening, about 200 times each time. This exercise can nourish the kidneys and improve qi circulation. Secondly, make fists with both hands, and use the protruding part of the metacarpophalangeal joint of both thumbs to naturally massage the lower back (the area between the thumb and index finger) in a circular motion, gradually increasing the pressure until a feeling of soreness and distension is felt. Continue massaging for about 10 minutes, once each in the morning, noon, and evening. Thirdly, foot massage. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the Yongquan acupoint is directly connected to the kidney meridian, and the Yongquan acupoint on the sole of the foot is where turbid qi descends. Regularly massaging the Yongquan acupoint can benefit the kidneys, strengthen the body, prevent premature aging, soothe the liver and improve eyesight, promote sleep, and has a certain therapeutic effect on dizziness, insomnia, tinnitus, hemoptysis, nasal congestion, and headaches caused by kidney deficiency. The method for foot massage is as follows: Soak your feet in warm water before going to bed each day, then rub your hands together until they are warm. Use your left palm to massage the sole of your right foot, and your right palm to massage the sole of your left foot, at least 100 times each time, until your feet are warm. This method has the effect of strengthening the kidneys, nourishing yin, and reducing internal heat, and is very effective for the common deficiency-heat syndrome in middle-aged and elderly people. Kidney-strengthening exercise: 1. Sit upright with your legs naturally apart, shoulder-width apart. Bend your elbows and raise your arms to the sides, fingers pointing upwards, level with your ears. Then, raise your arms overhead until you feel a slight pull in your rib area, then return to the starting position. Repeat 3 to 5 times as one set, and do 3 to 5 sets daily as needed. Before doing the exercise, relax your whole body. Inhale when raising your arms and exhale when returning to the starting position, and do not exert too much force. This movement can activate muscles and bones, unblock meridians, and simultaneously bring qi back to the dantian, which can relieve symptoms in the elderly, weak, and those with shortness of breath. 2.
