As soon as Shu Lian entered the door, Han Che turned around and hugged her, pinning her against the wall. His intense kiss, as if it had been suppressed for a long time, swept over her head and face. She was breathless from his kiss and desperately punched him with her hands. Only then did he reluctantly let go of her, looking at her with bright eyes, like a child asking for candy.
"Shu Lian, I didn't drink today." He gently rubbed his face against hers, the soft touch making him close his eyes in comfort.
"But you smell like smoke, go wash up." Shu Lian pushed him, her face flushed. Han Che's ability to forget his brother for a pretty face was truly astonishing. After learning that Feng Jinran had been drunk, he didn't even frown, only saying "oh". But when he heard that Feng Jinran asked him to bring her back first, he was like a hungry wolf with its eyes shining. He even abandoned Liang Qiwei, the driver, and recklessly drove himself all the way back from the bar.
Fortunately, Shu Lian had already witnessed his terrible skills before, otherwise she would have been scared again.
She hadn't had a chance to tell Han Che about meeting Kong Feng. When Feng Jinran said it was unsafe, she was probably referring to Kong Feng. She was afraid of Kong Feng entirely because of Han Che's warning that she should stay as far away from him as possible. But after actually meeting him in person, she felt that he wasn't as scary as she had imagined.
I wonder how my mother is doing now, whether she's doing well or not. Judging from Kong Feng's demeanor, he probably wouldn't make things difficult for a woman.
I just hope she can be safe and sound, that would be enough.
"Shu Lian, can you get me my pajamas?" Han Che's voice interrupted her thoughts. Shu Lian said "oh" and opened his wardrobe. She found that in addition to the clothes, there was a small photo pasted on the inside of the wardrobe door.
Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a childhood photo of them. Shu Lian was wearing a white dress and holding hands with Han Che, who was half a head shorter than her at the time. The photo was quite old and had turned slightly yellow, but Han Che's smiling face was still very clear, while Shu Lian's face was already somewhat blurry.
It's as if someone reached out and gently stroked it hundreds or thousands of times before it became what she sees now.
Shu Lian stared blankly until Han Che's voice rang out again, at which point she snapped out of her daze, took his pajamas, and handed them over.
The bathroom door was open, and the water from the showerhead splashed on the floor, making a splattering sound. Shu Lian called out several times, but no one responded.
She peeked inside, and even though she knew she was at home, she started to panic. This was the Han family's old house. Han Che couldn't bear to part with the gardenias here, nor could he let go of the childhood memories here, so he insisted on buying this place and moving back with her.
The image of that night several years ago flashed through her mind, a bloody and mangled scene that sent a shiver down her spine.
"Che? Where are you? Don't scare me... Ah!" A hand reached out from behind the door and suddenly pulled her inside. Han Che shook his wet hair and smiled smugly.
"Shu Lian, you haven't showered yet either. Let's shower together to speed things up. I'll scrub your back for you." He wrapped his arms around her from behind, saying this, but his hands started to wander over her body, which was instantly drenched by the showerhead.
"You bastard, let go... let go of me..." Shu Lian was both angry and anxious. She felt a series of dense kisses on her neck, and the breathing around her ears seemed to become rapid. Something hard was pressing against her from behind. Without even thinking, she knew what it was.
She pried his hand away forcefully, turned around abruptly, and glared at him. Han Che was clearly taken aback for a moment, then stopped arguing and carefully took her hand: "Shu Lian, what's wrong?"
The hot water from the showerhead continued to pour, soaking her hair and clothes. Shu Lian looked up at him, seeing his helpless expression as if he was afraid she would get angry. It made her feel both happy and sad.
What did she do to deserve his love?
Shu Lian reached out and hugged him, stood on tiptoe, looked into the boy's clear yet apprehensive eyes, and took the initiative to press her lips to his.
