My wife volunteered to attend my classmates' dinner party.

The night before last, around 9:30 PM, after a family walk, I received a call on speakerphone from one of my closest classmates (my wife knows him well), inviting me and a few other classmates to a small gathering. My wife told the two kids to go upstairs to bed, and she insisted on coming along to the gathering with my classmates. Although it was summer, it was still 9:30 PM. My wife is an early sleeper and has never gone out at night in the past twenty years, so this was truly unexpected.
Five or six male classmates, one female classmate, and my wife chatted at a roadside night market stall until 1:30 AM. My wife even happily joined in playing cards (something she's never done before), though she substituted tea for alcohol.
While they were drinking, my best friend received a call from his wife saying she'd locked the door and wouldn't let him in because he'd drunk too late. So, when it was time to leave, I suggested he sleep at my place, and my wife agreed, saying he'd had too much to drink and we needed to make sure he was safe, so we went to my place together. We chatted all the way to my apartment complex, and my friend said he could go home, but I tried to persuade him to stay several times, and he walked home on his own.
To add some context, my best friend is quite handsome, a very nice person, and has a successful career. Now that he's older, he has a mature, masculine charm reminiscent of Zhang Jiayi, which women are likely to find appealing. When I was trying to win over my wife, I asked her what kind of man she liked, and she mentioned liking this friend.
Based on the past few months, I've figured out that my wife only has feelings for people she's familiar with and can chat with. Could her recent initiative be because she's interested in my best friend? Or is it because she's gradually becoming more open-minded after my guidance?
