Seducing a Wife by Claiming Relatives (Part 2)

After several days of vacation, the inevitable had to come, and Shu Yuru finally had to return to her job.

However, after a few days back at work, she wasn't met with ridicule, but rather with words of concern from the teachers and parents. Their warm greetings made it seem as if nothing had happened, for which she was deeply grateful.

Work was back on track, and life had to go on. The man she was thinking of now wasn't Zheng Weibang, but the man she'd bumped into that day.

She pulled out the business card she'd looked at hundreds of times from her purse, considering whether to contact him.

Her hesitation was inexplicable, because her reason for contacting him was simple: she wanted to compensate him for his torn pants and damaged motorcycle.

But honestly, she was actually somewhat looking forward to seeing him.

During her time off at home, she did nothing but drag Shu Cenjie along to buy replacement pants for the stranger.

After searching for a long time, she finally found the brand of the suit pants he'd worn and bought the same style and waist.

Looking back, she was incredibly lucky. Now, she just hoped her waist measurement was accurate. At that moment, the handbag under her desk contained the suit trousers.

Just thinking about how she'd acted like a shrew that day filled her with shame. Honestly, even in her heartbreak, her behavior was still excessive.

It seemed being abandoned by Zheng Weibang had made her strange.

She bit her lower lip, examining the business card in her hand. The title printed on it was quite impressive—

Xuyao Group ,

President of Taipei Branch, Asia Representative Office,

Lan Yuxiang.

A few simple words, yet they seemed to indicate this man's extraordinary status—handsome and influential—a man with excellent qualities. His image flashed through her mind…

Just then, Zhang Xinxiang entered the office, interrupting Shu Haoru's thoughts.

"Anything up after work?" Zhang Xinxiang cheerfully sat down opposite Shu Yuru. "How about we go to karaoke and have some fun?"

This invitation made Shu Yuru smile knowingly. It was so nice to have these colleagues; their warm hospitality seemed to be as if they were worried she hadn't gotten over her heartbreak.

She smiled. Actually, after the wedding, she went home and cried all night. After her parents' earnest advice and her sisters' comforting words, she had already let go of her grief.

"Sorry, I have something to do after work," Shu Yuru said calmly. She had already arranged with Lan Yuxiang to personally return the suit pants to him at his company after work today.

Just yesterday, she mustered up the courage to call Lan Yuxiang's company and tell him she wanted to return the suit pants. She

originally thought he was a very busy person and might only exchange a few words before hanging up, but to her surprise, they talked for three whole hours. He roughly guessed what had happened that day and used that opportunity to give her a long lecture.

He was a good person. She touched the name on the business card—Lan Yuxiang. He told her she could contact him if she had any problems, but she didn't dare, because he was so kind that she dared not have any improper thoughts.

The fastest way to get over the pain was through the intervention of a man, something Shu Cenjie had told her a few days ago before flying to Canada.

What kind of logic was that? Was it meant to distract her and help her forget Zheng Weibang?

But no matter what, she didn't think someone with such good qualities would be interested in an ordinary kindergarten teacher like her.

"Hey! How can you not go out for some fresh air?" Zhang Xinxiang naglyly urged Shu Yuru to forget about running away from the wedding.

Ye Tingping nudged Zhang Xinxiang with her elbow, signaling that she had said the wrong thing.

"Ah—no! It's just that we haven't gone out to sing together in a long time! It's okay! If you have something to do, we can talk about it next time!"

After saying that, the two teachers quickly fled the office, looking as if they were afraid that if she lost control of her emotions, they might get a bad look at her.

These past few days, the kindergarten children have been unusually well-behaved.

After class, they all sat obediently in a row of chairs, quietly waiting for their parents to pick them up. Others would run off to the slide or play hopscotch in the open space, causing her no trouble at all.

She knew it was all thanks to her colleagues' consideration that these mischievous children were kept well-behaved.

She glanced at the time, bent down, and picked up the bag—what was coming would come eventually, and she had to repay what she owed. Shu Yuru arrived at the landmark building, her heart pounding. After the security guard confirmed her identity, she went to the office on the twelfth floor.

" Xuyao Group Taipei Branch." The company name was clearly displayed in gold lettering at the entrance. The vast space and the modern design made Shu Yuru's scalp tingle; it was truly too luxurious. She looked around again and again, already regretting her earlier actions. She should have brought her younger sister along for courage. Her hand holding the tote bag trembled slightly. She looked around, but there was no one there. Only clear footsteps echoed from afar. Since it was past closing time, the office was deserted; the lights weren't on, only a few indicator lights remained, making it look rather eerie. If it weren't for returning something, no one would want to come into this empty place. Suddenly—a deep, magnetic voice rang out. "You're here." Pushing open the other office door was Lan Yuxiang, the president of Xuyao Group. "Yes!" Shu Yuru was startled by his voice. She glanced at him, then fearfully looked around, as if a thief might break in. "What are you afraid of?" Lan Yuxiang looked at her with amusement. "There's hardly anyone in the company right now." "Of course, most people have gone home. But don't worry, this building has security guards monitoring the area; just anyone can't come in." "Oh, that's good." "Please come in!" Lan Yuxiang gestured for Shu Yuru to enter. "No, Mr. Lan, I just came to return these trousers. I won't disturb your overtime work any longer." Shu Yuru presented the suit trousers. "Here! This is for you, and also, the money for the motorcycle repairs—" "That's a small matter!" His tone wasn't very concerned. He didn't care about the motorcycle but cared about a pair of trousers; this man's logic was truly strange. "Even if it's a small matter, I still have to pay for it." She didn't want to owe anyone anything. She took out an envelope from her purse. "There's eight thousand yuan in here. I don't know if that's enough?" He glanced at it; it seemed he had no choice but to take it. He shrugged and took it. "In that case, we're even." After he took the envelope, she nodded to him and turned to leave. That was her plan anyway—to return the trousers and the money, and then leave. "Wait!" He grabbed her. Shu Yuru turned around in surprise. "What?" she asked, puzzled. "Is there anything else I forgot?"

"No!" Lan Yuxiang smiled faintly, "You haven't forgotten anything."

"Then you—" She looked confused. Since everything was alright, why was he still holding her back?

Lan Yuxiang noticed her confusion, but he didn't intend to dispel her doubts.

Actually, his overtime work was just a pretext. He just wanted her to come and meet him under the assumption that he was harmless.

Thinking back to that day when she yelled at him to take responsibility, he found it amusing. He wanted to see what responsibility she wanted him to take.

"Do you know how many times I've grabbed your arm like this?"

Shu Yuru pursed her lips, her face as red as a shrimp on a hot plate. For a moment, she didn't know how to react.

Shu Yuru cried out in her heart, how could she know? Why ask her such a question? The way he looked at her made her heart almost jump out of her chest.

"The first time was at the entrance of the Italian restaurant, don't you remember?"

"The Italian restaurant?!" She was stunned at first, vaguely recalling.

That day, in front of the Italian restaurant, she bumped into someone. She looked up and scrutinized Lan Yuxiang from head to toe.

He was wearing a casual Armani suit, which accentuated his tall and handsome figure. His eyes were now gazing at her meaningfully.

"It's you!" she recognized him.

"Remember me?" He patted her head, a faint smile playing on his lips.

She froze—because of his sudden affectionate gesture, a unique masculine scent filled her nostrils with his touch, making her feel a frenzy.

Why was she like this? Her mind was filled with questions; her heart pounded violently against her chest.

"Why is it always you I bump into?" She didn't dare look at him, only lowering her head and muttering to the ground.

"Perhaps it's fate!" Suddenly, he grabbed her hand.

"What are you doing?" she asked, somewhat bewildered.

"Nothing much, just wanted to invite you to sit down!" His dark eyes gleamed with an unusual light. "Come in!"

"But—" Shu Yuru was somewhat flustered as he led her inside, following her into the elegantly decorated office.

Fearful and uneasy, she could only submit to his every command.

"Sit down!" Upon entering the office, he pointed to the elegant sofa.

She obediently followed his orders.

"Have you eaten?"

She shook her head; she had originally planned to return his pants before going home for dinner.

"Perfect timing, I haven't eaten either." He suddenly pushed out a food cart from the corner.

Was such a grand display really necessary? Shu Yuru stared blankly as he took four or five dishes from the cart and placed them on the table.

"Wow!" she exclaimed in surprise. "You eat this while working overtime?" The abundance of food on the table astonished Shu Yuru.

"No, it's just that today is special."

"Why?"

"Is it even necessary to say?" He glanced at her with a mature and worldly-wise look. "It's all because you wanted to come." "

Me?!" She tilted her head slightly, unsure whether she should feel flattered by his words.

Lan Yuxiang took a bottle of red wine from the small bar table in the corner of the office, poured it into a crystal goblet, and casually asked her, "Would you like some?"

She shook her head. "I don't drink."

"I'm not surprised." Lan Yuxiang smiled faintly. "I've often heard that 'good girl' types don't smoke or drink."

She smiled faintly, without answering.

"But these 'good girl' types usually only end up being dumped."

His words pierced her heart harshly.

Her eyes dimmed, and her thoughts changed. "I think I'll have a glass. Anyway, I need to relax a bit. What's wrong with a glass of red wine!"

Lan Yuxiang looked at her sideways. Na?ve girls are so easy to fool; he provoked them to forget their principles with just a few words.

"Are you sure?"

Shu Yuru's face darkened. "I'm absolutely sure. You're not going to be reluctant to let me drink your wine, are you?"

"Of course not." Lan Yuxiang quickly poured her a glass of wine.

While he was pouring the wine, Shu Yuru glanced around his office. His desk was a bit messy, and the computer was still on.

"Do you usually work this late, Mr. Lan?" Shu Yuru greeted him politely, asking about his work with curiosity.

"I just finished the renewal plan for the Asian development site recently." Lan Yuxiang's face showed the fatigue and sense of accomplishment of the past few days. "Finally."

After nearly three months of work, he had plenty of time to relax. The woman in front of him—he glanced at Shu Yuru imperceptibly—was a good choice.

"Here! This is for you." He handed her the glass of wine he had poured.

Shu Yuru took the glass of red liquid and took the first sip under Lan Yuxiang's gaze. The sour taste made her frown slightly.

"What? Is it a little sour?"

Shu Yuru shrugged, taking it as an answer.

"Try another sip!" he encouraged her with his eyes.

She really didn't think it was a good idea, but she still obediently took a sip, and this time the taste surprised her—

"This time it tastes good, with a faint cherry aroma." Shu Yuru praised and took another light sip.

"This is from Burgundy Blanc in France, aged and fermented in oak barrels." Lan Yuxiang introduced the origin of the red wine with great ease.

Wow! It seems very high-end, Shu Yuru glanced at the red wine in her hand, secretly guessing the price.

"It has a unique flavor." Lan Yuxiang continued.

"You seem to know quite a bit." Shu Yuru's tone was somewhat admiring.

"I wouldn't say I know a lot, I just want to understand what I've eaten and drunk. Drinking more red wine can lower blood viscosity and improve blood circulation."

Lan Yuxiang's charming gaze fell on Shu Yuru.

She'd lost count of how many times he'd looked at her like that today. She shifted uncomfortably, finally picking up her chopsticks and starting to eat.

After the first bite, she realized she was truly hungry.

"Tell me about your family!" Shu Yuru took a bite of food, feeling it would be strange to remain silent, so she spoke first.

"My parents immigrated to Germany, and I have a younger sister…" He shrugged, a flicker of sadness crossing his eyes, but he quickly concealed it. "And you?"

Frankly, his interest in her had grown considerably.

"My father is a civil servant, my mother is a housewife, and I have two younger sisters."

"The woman in red you were with on the street the other day—was she your sister?"

Shu Yuru was slightly taken aback. She knew very well that her younger sister was strikingly beautiful and unforgettable, but for some reason, hearing his question made her feel somewhat uncomfortable.

"Yes! Her name is Shu Cenjie, she's a flight attendant."

"Flight attendant—that suits her appearance perfectly."

She heard the praise in his tone, and her face involuntarily darkened.

"Do you need me to check her recent flights for you?" she asked, looking at him.

He heard the hint of jealousy in her words and smiled unconsciously. "Why would I need to?"

"I know how most men feel when they see her. She's a very beautiful girl, it's only natural that you like her." She put down her chopsticks, picked up her wine glass, and quickly finished her drink.

He attentively poured her another glass of wine and said softly, "She is very pretty, but not my type. I prefer girls with a more demure, sweet appearance."

He stared at her intently, as if he couldn't get enough of her.

Looking into his eyes, her heart pounded wildly. Honestly, his reaction startled her again. They weren't exactly close, but her infatuation with him was undeniable.

She didn't look like the pitiful bride abandoned at her wedding just a week ago. To avoid his gaze, she took another sip of wine.

"Don't drink too much, you'll get drunk," he warned.

"Don't worry! I know what I'm doing," she said with a smile.

"How have you been these past few days?"

"If you're asking how I feel, I don't know," she shrugged, finding it hard to believe. He wasn't exactly a friend, yet she trusted him with her own thoughts. "Honestly, I don't want to think about what happened that day." "

Including bumping into me?"

She laughed. "No! Except that."

She sipped her red wine, each sip more delicious than the last, her face flushing again under his focused gaze.

The alcohol's effects gradually made her cheeks rosy. She sighed, leaning back limply against the sofa, wine glass in hand.

"You shouldn't suppress yourself. If you're really sad, you should say it." He gently whispered in her ear, one hand resting on his cheek. Overwhelmed

by his caring tone, she couldn't hold back her emotions, and two streams of tears instantly rolled down her cheeks, her heart sinking.

"Why are you crying?" He saw her sudden tears, so sorrowful and vulnerable, and he instinctively wanted to protect her.

A sliver of reason reminded her that she was acting like an idiot, but she was powerless to stop it. Drinking easily brings back memories, especially painful ones.

"Why is this happening? I should be on my honeymoon right now. Why did he abandon me? What did I do wrong?" Past painful memories surfaced one by one, and Shu Yuru finally couldn't hold back any longer and began to pour out her emotions.

These past few days, she had suppressed her emotions, trying not to think about the groom's unexpected escape on their wedding day, but in reality, every little detail hurt her deeply.

Lan Yuxiang sat beside her, listening to her outpouring of emotions.

A sudden pang of heartache washed over him. Looking at her swaying body, Lan Yuxiang reached out and lifted her, placing her on his lap.

Shu Yuru struggled for a moment, trying to stand, but to no avail, and finally gave up, leaning softly against him.

"You did nothing wrong," he gently stroked her back, waiting for her to calm down before speaking. "That damned man doesn't know what a treasure he's found. You shouldn't let him affect you. You deserve better!"

"Better?" She gave a bitter smile. "Am I good enough?"

"Of course!" he said confidently. "You are! Trust me."

She pointed at him. "Like you?"

"If you're willing."

At that moment, Shu Yuru looked into Lan Yuxiang's deep eyes and impulsively kissed his lips, a deep kiss as if finding solace, her hands climbing up his neck.

Lan Yuxiang didn't refuse, but simply embraced her.

Perhaps she was drunk, or perhaps she simply didn't want to suppress herself anymore; at this moment, she cared about nothing but wanting him to surround her with passion and excitement.

"This really isn't a good place!" He slightly pushed away from her, his gaze like a black flame, burning with a desire to embrace every inch of her skin. "Let's go home!"

"Home—" She looked at him blankly, not quite understanding his words.

He helped the tipsy woman out of the office, and she practically dozed off as soon as she got into the car.

Lan Yuxiang reached out and touched her delicate face; her tear-streaked face had inexplicably stirred his heart, a thousand thoughts flooding his mind.

"I'll take good care of you." He patted her cheek tenderly, gently comforting her, then lowered his head to kiss her fragrant hair, inhaling and exploring the sweet scent emanating from her body.

Shu Yuru, who hadn't had a good night's sleep for days, felt surrounded by love as he drove smoothly and steadily, the car filled with his gentle scent. She drifted off to sleep, overwhelmed by happiness.

"We're here!" He parked the car in the hotel garage and opened the door for her.

She opened her eyes and saw him open the door. Confused, she rubbed her hair. "How long have I been asleep?"

"Hmm!" He gently kissed her and then picked her up.

"I can walk by myself!" she protested softly, though she was actually too weak to move and just wanted to lean on him.

"I know you can walk by yourself." Even so, he had no intention of putting her down. "Are you sober?"

"Please!" She shook her head, protesting, "I'm tired, not drunk."

"Is that so?" He slammed the door shut. "That's wonderful!"

What was so wonderful? Before she could even ask, his lips had already greedily found hers.

She was taken aback at first, but accepted his kiss without objection. She loved kissing him and being held by him; it made her feel safe and sweet.

He pressed the elevator button with his elbow and carried her inside.

"Where is this?"

"This is where I'm staying temporarily," Lan Yuxiang replied. "My house in Taiwan isn't renovated yet, so I'm staying in a hotel for now."

"A hotel?!" He really went all out!

The elevator doors opened again, and he quickly carried her to his room.

He carried her to the bed and lay down with her, pressing his body against hers. After a long, passionate kiss, he unbuttoned her blouse.

This was the first time she had been so close to a man. She was a little panicked, but he didn't give her a chance to back down. Passion overwhelmed her, making it hard to even breathe.

In his arms, she lost herself, becoming his woman.

The next day.

Shu Yuru groaned, brushed the foreign object off her face, turned over, and went back to sleep. But this time, a large hand pressed against her face, and the warmth of the body startled her.

She quickly opened her eyes, and the scene before her was not the familiar layout.

The warmth behind her told her again and again that she wasn't alone in the bed. She turned over...

"You're awake!" Lan Yuxiang planted a sweet kiss on Shu Yuru's cheek.

Shu Yuru was stunned. "Why are you kissing me? How did you get in my bed?"

A million questions flooded her mind.

"You're wrong. You should say you're in my bed." Lan Yuxiang found the horrified woman before him amusing.

"I'm in your bed?!" This was definitely not her room. Why was she here?

As she pondered, she felt his hand on her chest. She cried out in surprise, only then realizing that she was lying naked on the soft bed.

"What are you doing?" Shu Yuru hurriedly pulled the sheet over her head, covering her exposed, full, white breasts, leaving only her flushed head showing.

She glanced at him, knowing without a doubt that he was also naked under the sheet. What had she done?

"You're so mean! You took advantage of me while I was vulnerable!" she yelled.

"Taking advantage of me? I don't think so," he said, tucking her disheveled hair behind her ear. "I just think we're mutually attracted."

"Get out!" Shu Yuru shouted.

"Why are you so angry? Didn't you say you wanted me to take responsibility?" A wicked smile played on his lips as he looked at her, completely covered up, finding it amusing.

"Take responsibility for what?" Shu Yuru slowly recalled the words she had blurted out on the street on their wedding day, and her unease grew rapidly. Without a second thought,

she had grabbed someone off the street and demanded they take the place of someone who had run away from their wedding. She had lost her temper that day, and it wasn't that she really wanted him to take responsibility—

it was like a groom running away only to be replaced by a wolf in sheep's clothing. The thought of her years of virginity being ruined made her want to cry.

"You've gone too far! Taking advantage of me while I'm drunk!" Shu Yuru finally remembered everything that had happened in bed last night, and her momentary lapse in composure in his office. Ultimately, it was all the alcohol's fault. She would never touch a drop of alcohol again in her life.

"We were both willing," Lan Yuxiang chuckled, his eyes flashing with seductive allure as he wrapped his arm around her slender waist.

Shu Yuru blushed instantly. "Let go of me! Do you think I'm still drunk?"

"I don't think you're really drunk." He pressed her down, giving her no chance to escape, and forcefully kissed her lips.

She saw the burning desire in his eyes again.

She wasn't sure what this meant to him; perhaps it was just a night of passion, but his feelings for her couldn't be easily dismissed.

A surge of love coursing through her body stirred her burning heart.

"Get away from me!" She turned her head away with all her might, pushing against his chest. "I'm begging you, get out, let me calm down."

He hesitated for a moment, then finally released her.

He rolled out of bed, completely unconcerned about being naked in front of her.

She glanced at him, then quickly looked away; just that one look was enough to make her mouth dry. She touched her burning cheeks, wondering what had gotten into her.

He went into the bathroom, and when she heard the sound of water, she didn't hesitate any longer. She quickly got up to find her clothes, and by the time he came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel, she was already dressed, sitting upright and waiting for him.

"Quick!" He glanced at her with a smile.

She pursed her lips and didn't answer him, only asking, "What time is it?"

"Almost ten o'clock," Lan Yuxiang glanced at his watch and replied unhurriedly.

"Ten o'clock?! Oh no, I'm late." Upon hearing this, Shu Yuru hurriedly stood up and rushed towards the door.

She always arrived at kindergarten promptly at 7:30.

"Don't worry, I've already asked for leave for you."

His slow and deliberate tone made her stop abruptly, turning slightly to the side. "What did you say?"

"I said I've already asked for leave for you."

Hearing this, her almond-shaped eyes widened. "Why would you ask for leave for me?"

"Because I thought you might need some rest after last night." He pulled her back to sit on the bed. "So you should rest well today!"

She frowned. "What right do you have to make decisions for me?"

"Because of our relationship," his hand uninvitedly touched her cheek again. "I think asking for leave for you is a small matter!"

She glared at him angrily. "You have no right!" She almost gritted her teeth as she said this. It seemed like only one night had passed, and her once regular life had suddenly gone awry.

"Believe me," he said, his eyes seductive, "I have the absolute right!"

Seeing his lips press down, she quickly turned her head away, causing him to miss and only kiss her hair.

"If I let you touch me again, I'll write my name, Shu Yuru, backwards!" she spat, turning over and getting off the bed at the other end, keeping a distance from him. "I'm going home!"

"I'll take you."

"No need!" She covered her chest with her hands. "I know how to get home myself."

"I won't let you walk alone."

"I don't care what you're thinking," she stubbornly declared, taking a few steps before turning back. "How did you get me a day off?"

"By phone!" he replied matter-of-factly.

She remembered not having mentioned her job or even her workplace to him.

"How do you know my workplace's phone number?"

"What I want to know," he said, walking towards her and pinching her nose, "I'll naturally find out."

This wasn't the answer she expected. She pushed his hand away. "I want you to understand something."

"What?" he asked, looking all ears.

"Last night should never have happened—"

"But it did." He casually untied his towel, took out his clothes, and brazenly put them on in front of her. "And you had no choice but to accept it."

What kind of twisted logic was that? Seeing him change clothes so openly in front of her, she couldn't help but gasp. As the saying goes, one should not look at what is improper, so she quickly turned around, her face flushed.

"After last night, are you still so shy?" He embraced her from behind, naked, ignoring her struggles.

She should resist him, but after sharing a bed last night, maintaining a polite distance seemed too late.

"I hardly know you." Her voice was filled with confusion. Things between them had progressed too quickly, making her feel uneasy.

Having feelings for him was one thing, but she had no idea how he felt about her. Would a man with such good qualities really be interested in an ordinary woman like her?

"I can give you time to get to know him." He turned her to face him, "But don't keep me waiting too long. Heaven knows, when I first saw you, your eyes—"

"How?"

"Charming!" He lifted her chin and kissed her passionately, "And your blushing—I can't resist a girl who blushes so easily."

Was this a confession of love? She could only stare blankly as he kissed her.

Shu Yuru could hardly believe it. First, she was abandoned in the auditorium, and less than two weeks later, the man she had bumped into repeatedly was courting her. Most outrageous of all, she had even slept with him—everything had progressed far beyond her imagination.

"Is this for real?" When he finally let go of her, she widened her clear eyes and asked, "You're not kidding? You really like me?"

"Absolutely." Lan Yuxiang said with certainty.

My God! Even riding a roller coaster wasn't this thrilling. She felt she needed some time alone. He had taken her first kiss and her virginity. She had never been so devoted to the unfaithful Zheng Weibang.

"I want to take a shower!" Shu Yuru pushed Lan Yuxiang again. "Let me go."

"A shower is nice! How about we take a bath together?" Lan Yuxiang asked, his hands then restlessly caressing Shu Yuru's delicate body.

"Lan Yuxiang!" Shu Yuru shouted, almost cursing, "I don't want to shower with you, and you're already done."

Shu Yuru blushed.

Lan Yuxiang teased, "You're mine now, you should call me Xiang, that's more fitting."

"I didn't agree to anything, you're being too vain, hmph!" Her sudden outburst made Shu Yuru forget about maintaining her image.

"Then why have you been blushing all this time?" Lan Yuxiang retorted, his accusations clear. She had blushed countless times since she woke up.

"I didn't," Shu Yuru vehemently denied, her heart pounding uncontrollably, exposed by his words.

"You didn't?" He bent down, his face parallel to hers, and sure enough, he made her blush again.

"You bastard!" She punched him, then ran quickly into the bathroom. Oh my god! How was this going to unfold?

She had barely taken off her clothes when the bathroom door opened. She only had time to scream before she was helplessly thrown into his arms.

He proved with his actions that he was a domineering man, giving her no chance to say "no."

???

A black luxury Audi pulled up in front of Shu Yuru's house.

Shu Guodong, who had been worried, sat in the living room, but upon hearing the engine sound outside, he immediately went out.

"Remember to call me," Lan Yuxiang reminded Shu Yuru as she got out of the car.

"Hmph! I'll tell you later!" Shu Yuru pouted and turned to leave.

She was furious at how he had treated her.

Lan Yuxiang didn't seem to care about her sulking;

he just smiled. His confident demeanor, as if she were a pawn in his game, made her increasingly angry.

She angrily flung open the door, ignoring her father.

"Yuru, where have you been? Why didn't you come back all night?" Shu Guodong asked anxiously, following his eldest daughter.

"No!"

"Don't try to fool me!" Shu Guodong said irritably. He was always very strict and wouldn't allow his daughter to act recklessly.

"Actually, it's nothing. I went to a friend's birthday party yesterday." She made up a lie in a moment of panic; how could she tell her father everything that happened last night? "Because I played too late, I slept at their house and couldn't get up this morning, so I asked kindergarten for a day off."

"Even so, you should have called home to tell me, right?" Yu Ru had never done that before, and Shu Guodong looked at his daughter suspiciously.

"Oh! I had so much fun that I forgot." It was a flimsy excuse. Shu Yu Ru rubbed her aching temples, not daring to look her father in the eye.

"Where's Mommy?"

"She went to her flower arranging class." Shu Guodong said somewhat displeased, "Otherwise, do you think you'd get away with it so easily?"

Shu Yu Ru's smile was a little awkward.

"Who drove you home just now?" Shu Guodong continued to ask.

"Um..."

"Tell me the truth, or I'll get angry!"

Shu Yu Ru lowered her eyelids. "It was a friend of a friend."

"A man?"

Shu Yu Ru shrugged.

"Is it really a man?" Although Shu Guodong was displeased that she hadn't returned home last night, he couldn't deny that he felt a tiny bit of joy.

He had originally worried that after Zheng Weibang's incident, his usually introverted eldest daughter would become even more shy and afraid to date, but it turned out he had worried for nothing.

"If he's a good catch, you have to seize the opportunity, understand?"

Shu Yuru rolled her eyes helplessly, turned around and went upstairs, not wanting to face her father who was eager to marry her off.

Back

in her room, Shu Yuru's body went limp, and she relaxed on the soft bed.

She never imagined that one day she would be so infatuated with a man. Right now, she couldn't do anything but lie in bed thinking about him, and heaven knows, they had only been apart for less than ten minutes.

She regretfully thought about the moments they spent together, how a masculine scent emanating from him had bewitched her, and her heart yearned for him.

Suddenly, the hotline by the bedside rang urgently, startling her. She answered the phone a beat too late.

"Hello! It's me." The man's voice on the other end of the phone startled her for a moment.

A deep, magnetic male voice came through, and Shu Yuru stared wide-eyed, on the verge of tears, wondering why Lan Yuxiang was haunting her like a ghost.

She was speechless for a moment.

"Is it comfortable? How does it feel to lie in bed?"

Good heavens! How did he know what she was doing in the room? Shu Yuru felt a chill run down her spine.

Without a word, she immediately got up, looking around the room with the expression of a neurotic girl who had seen a ghost.

Impossible, she hadn't been home for a day; there couldn't have been a hidden camera in her room.

"Yuru, what are you looking at?"

The words from the other end made her feel incredibly uneasy, giving her goosebumps.

"Where did you put it?"

"What?" His tone was completely innocent.

"A hidden camera, of course!" She angrily searched for suspicious corners.

"Even if I were incredibly resourceful, it seems impossible to plant a hidden camera in your house without leaving a trace, right?" His voice, tinged with laughter, came through the phone. "Not to mention you live with your family."

She was taken aback. What he said made sense. So, it meant—

"Come out! Come out here!" This really angered her. Shu Yuru roared, probably hiding in some corner spying on her.

"That's really asking too much. I really want to appear in front of you, but I'm already at the company. However, my heart is with you."

"Stop being disgusting," she spat. "If you didn't do anything, how would you know what I'm doing right now?"

"I can tell what you're doing just by thinking about it," Lan Yuxiang said with a smile. "You must be exhausted and lying in bed after you got back to your room, right?"

She blinked. She hadn't expected him to understand her so well. Maybe he could even guess what she was thinking. Thinking of this, her face flushed again. She couldn't help but feel glad that he couldn't see her expression, otherwise he would definitely laugh at her again.

"Do you have to be so scary?" Shu Yuru said unhappily. "You sound like you've installed some kind of hidden camera in my room."

"You're overthinking it!" Lan Yuxiang smiled knowingly. So she wasn't just shy, she was also quite timid.

He would probably adore her innocent, girlish demeanor. Living with her would be quite interesting, Lan Yuxiang thought.

"I miss you so much." Lan Yuxiang poured out his love over the phone.

Only fifteen minutes had passed since they parted, yet his longing had already started so quickly.

"But—I don't miss you." Shu Yuru bluntly denied it and tried to hang up.

"If you dare hang up on me, I'll come to your house right now."

His words effectively made her give up the idea. "You're really going too far!"

"Even if I am going too far, it's because of you!" His voice softened again. "Let's do it all over again. Do you miss me?"

"No!" she answered decisively.

"Really?"

"Yes!" She practically shouted the word. She didn't know what she was being so hesitant about. In short, she just didn't want to do what he wanted.

In fact, from the moment she got into his car and learned he was going to take her home, she felt a pang of reluctance. She so desperately didn't want to go home; she just wanted to stay by his side… As soon as she realized her thoughts had strayed again, she quickly swatted away the turmoil in her heart.

Perhaps fate was trying to compensate her, letting her groom run away on her wedding day, only to have a man relentlessly pursuing her appear several days later, leaving her heart in turmoil.

"Since that's the case, then forget it. Bye! I won't disturb your rest." Lan Yuxiang, who had hung up the phone abruptly, narrowed his eyes, a cryptic smile on his face.

What was that all about?! Shu Yuru, hearing the dial tone, was stunned for a long time. He had just hung up on her like that.

"Would it kill you to ask a few more times?!" she said, angrily slamming the phone down.

Sure enough, even the most introverted girl could be unpredictable when she threw a tantrum.

That bastard! Shu Yuru cursed as she buried her face in the pillow, as if trying to use this action to completely forget about last night.
