Alibuda Chronicles Volume 22: Chapter 1 A Gift from Heaven

After the ghost ship incident ended and I left the East China Sea, I finally began my life as a tracker, temporarily escaping the political and military turmoil, relying solely on my own abilities to travel across mountains and rivers, searching for legendary treasures buried in various places.

However, on our journey back to land from the East China Sea, some lingering unease still remained. The source of these unease was Mao Yanping, who had been seducing married women all over Honolulu. He had affairs with women everywhere, causing a bunch of jealous husbands to come out to sea to hunt him down, making our journey quite unsettling.

In addition, due to the influence of a mediocre middle-aged man, our tracker's journey hadn't even begun before we gained a companion, someone who wasn't planned, and shouldn't even exist. Ironically, this companion, who still gives me a headache, was actually sent by express mail.

At the time, we were secretly sailing back to land. Because of my deep-seated hatred for Ishtar and the fact that I was wanted by the Kingdom of Alibuda, I had no choice but to head southeast, passing through Copenhagen to land. However, upon landing, I received a notification that a package addressed to Mr. John Farrell was to be collected from the Copenhagen port authority warehouse.

"A package for me? Just throw it overboard! I have so many enemies; who knows if it contains poison or explosives?"

A basic sense of danger is essential for anyone navigating the world of martial arts, but Mao Yanping believed that accurately predicting my movements was beyond the capabilities of ordinary people. It was very likely a gift from Li Huamei, and it would be a waste to simply ignore it.

His reasoning wasn't without merit. To pinpoint my landing location, one would either need a professional hunter or a powerful figure in the East China Sea, and Li Huamei certainly met the latter criteria. However, when I saw the "package," I was still startled. After all, a black wooden box wrapped with colorful ribbons looked more like a coffin than a package, and it was hard to call it a gift.

"Take it away! This thing looks unlucky. I have a bad feeling that accepting it will bring endless trouble."

I wasn't just saying that casually. When I saw the black wooden box wrapped with cross-shaped ribbons, I really had a feeling that "something terrible is going to happen," and I vaguely sensed that this thing was extremely troublesome.

"Don't be so quick to judge, my dear nephew. How can you, a hero of our time, be so cowardly? Maybe when the box opens, there's a stunning beauty inside!"

"How do you know there's a stunning beauty inside? Did you put her in there? Murdering someone and disposing of the body as a gift, are you that perverted? Uh, don't tell me you hired a prostitute, hid naked inside, and were going to play that kind of lame joke about her coming out of a broken box? I have such a strong sense of foreboding; this prostitute must be crazy..."

As he spoke, the black wooden box suddenly burst open, debris flying everywhere. A fragrant breeze blew in, knocking me heavily to the ground. In that instant, I had a very bad feeling.

(This...this way of knocking me down seems familiar...could it be...)

A passionate kiss, raindrops falling on my cheeks, an undisguised expression of love, made me feel flattered. In my life, John Farrell, there has only been one woman who has shown me such affection outside of bed...the worst one!

"You...you weren't taken away? How come again..."

"Yu Ni won't leave Master. No matter how far apart we are, I will definitely return to Master's side and serve you diligently."

The girl who emerged from the box was none other than Yu Ni. She was supposed to be taken away and treated by the Heart Lamp Hermit, but somehow she ended up here, becoming a hot potato that fell from the sky.

"Oh dear! It's not a matter of whether you serve me or not. I promised your sister I wouldn't mess with you. It's hard for me to face her like this...oh oh oh oh!"

A beautiful girl throwing herself into my arms, it should have been a dream that every man longed for, but unfortunately, the reality behind this dream involved too many responsibilities and troubles, which I couldn't handle. I tried desperately to get away, but before I could stand up and create some distance, Yu Ni hugged me tightly like a bear hug, making it impossible for me to escape. I could only ask for help from the people next to me.

"You old bastard, are you still laughing over there? Hurry up and come pull her away! Aren't you going to let down your good friend Xin Deng by just standing by like this?"

"Haha, I'm not the kind of old-fashioned, closed-minded person who would hinder young people's love! Since ancient times, heroes have lost their humanity when they

have women. For the sake of your love, I've decided to apologize to my old friend Xin Deng." Mao Yanping nodded and smiled, "When we were in Donghai, I found it strange. My dear nephew, you are talented and capable, and Yu Ni is beautiful. You two are clearly a perfect match. Why does everyone want to break you up? Actually, my dear nephew, think about it more. Having such an obedient and gentle lover is a source of pride. It would fill the void left by Admiral Li. What's wrong with that?"

"You bastard! When the Hermit of the Heart Lamp comes to settle scores with me and tears me to pieces, I won't forget to drag you down to hell with me!"

I held Yu Ni in my arms, her slender body writhing violently in my embrace, her small breasts rubbing against my chest, causing waves of restless impulses that almost made me lose control. But then I remembered Yu Hong's warning, which felt like a bucket of ice water being poured over me, leaving me at a loss.

This stalemate was finally resolved by A Xue. Seemingly startled by Yu Ni's sudden appearance, she finally regained her senses and gently touched the ground with her magic wand. A strange force came from underground, gently lifting Yu Ni and me to our feet. Then, A Xue offered her suggestion.

"What? You want me not to send her away? Do you know what the situation is? Yu Ni is infected... well, Yu Ni is a patient, and patients should receive proper treatment. If she stays with us, her condition will only worsen, which will do her no good..."

"Nephew, that's not right. I think..."

"Shut up!"

"Whoa! You're being held like this and you still dare to gouge my eyes!"

As the scoundrel covered his eyes and staggered back with a scream, Ah Xue also gave her reason. Although I was shocked, I hadn't noticed before that Yu Ni's complexion was poor, her hair was disheveled, her clothes were covered in dirt, and her body was covered in wounds, especially her wrists and ankles, which had deep bloodstains. It was obvious that she had broken free of the iron chains and escaped while injured.

"Yu Ni was taken away by the Heart Lamp Hermit. Logically, she should be under close surveillance and receiving proper treatment, but she still managed to find her way here. She must have suffered a lot along the way, right? I felt that even if we were to send Yu Ni back, we couldn't send her away from here. Otherwise, given her current condition, it would be very dangerous. And...and..."

A blush crept onto her pretty face, and Ah Xue covered her face, speaking softly like a shy little girl, "Ah Xue also admires you, Master. If I were separated from you for a long time and couldn't see you, I would definitely rush over like Yu Ni, no matter what. So...so I..."

Perhaps spurred on by Yu Ni, Ah Xue unusually acted coquettishly. Her pure yet captivating beauty, like a blooming peony, mesmerized me, leaving me speechless for a moment.

"Yes, no matter how far apart we are, wherever Master is, Yu Ni will come to meet you."

As if making a firm promise, Yu Ni finished speaking and, before I could even react, unexpectedly offered me a sweet kiss.

"Mmm..."

The kiss was short because Yu Ni seemed to suddenly relax her mind and body, and after the kiss, she fainted in my arms.

Everything seemed so natural, even Violet was shouting loudly beside us, and afterwards, in addition to Xue's positive suggestions, Mao Yanping also came up with an excuse that I couldn't refuse.

"Officially, Xiao Xue has already spoken; personally, my dear nephew, you should think of yourself too," Mao Yanping said. "The union of men and women is the way of the king; the sexual intercourse between women is the way of the saint; the homosexual relationship between men is the way of the evil; as for you now... it's what you call inhumane!"

"Huh? Is it that serious? Do I have an incurable erectile dysfunction or something? Why is it inhumane?"

"You just dumped Admiral Li, and now you only have Xiao Xue by your side to sleep with, and you might even get chased and bitten by Violet... Sigh, you're a heroic figure, if you try to practice monogamy, you might as well just be an ordinary citizen. What kind of legendary life is that? Right in front of you is the material for every legendary story: a beautiful girl throwing herself at you. If you can't even eat the meat that's offered to you, and can only masturbate every night, isn't that inhumane?"

"That... that makes some sense!"

"The East China Sea is teeming with passionate, wanton women. My dear nephew, you'll be surrounded by them, feasting on fish and meat—the benefits must be great. But as a Tracker, you'll be living a life of hardship, exposed to the elements, in the wilderness. Where will you find so many sluts? You'll likely be skipping meals and constantly having wet dreams. Is that the kind of life you should be living? Just bring another beautiful girl with you! As the saying goes, 'A Buddha for all families, three points naked, arrows soaring into the sky, National Day fireworks!'"

The cunning middle-aged man's silver tongue was indeed brilliant, making me nod vigorously in a daze, my reason controlled by my own desires. Thus, this hot gift that fell from the sky was half-forced upon me, making me our fifth companion, joining the Tracker's journey.

At first glance, Trackers seem to simply be chasing information on various treasures, doing treasure hunting work akin to archaeology. But in reality, as long as there's something involved, things become complicated, and the levels we encounter become much more diverse.

In the vast desert of Northeast China, we searched for the legendary bronze capital. After excavating more than ten ruins, we obtained clues and found an abandoned ancient city perpetually shrouded in sandstorms and guarded by nine giant sphinxes. From the mines, we obtained rare magical metals.

On the vast grasslands of Solancia, we unexpectedly engaged in a fierce battle with the notorious "Barbarossa" bandit group. Riding on giant tigers and centaurs, we galloped across the endless grasslands, chasing them for thousands of miles. Several times, we nearly suffered total annihilation, but we finally activated a magic circle in an ancient temple. With Ah Xue leading the attack, we completely wiped out this band of bandits who had plagued the area for decades, and incidentally seized their looted wealth.

At an auction in Copenhagen, we, who originally only intended to sell our treasures for cash, were unexpectedly drawn into a murder case involving a local tycoon's inheritance. When Mao Yanping was arrested and imprisoned, I rallied around the clock, hoping he would be tortured and never get out. However, Yu Ni and A Xue investigated diligently and not only found the real culprit but also solved a series of other crimes committed by the wealthy. We became famous as a result, were awarded honorary citizenship by Copenhagen, and had memorial statues of A Xue and Yu Ni erected in front of the City Hall.

This event was a milestone in our journey as trackers, because even trackers can become famous. Trackers with a reputation like "Bell Knife" Hui Xiuchu receive many advantages. Not only do ordinary thieves flee at the mere mention of their name, but many people even secretly send them intelligence and request assistance.

After we officially made a name for ourselves, we finally tasted the sweetness of success. We no longer needed to flip through books to find our next target. All sorts of intelligence came pouring in with requests for assistance. Wherever we went, we could wait half a day and then receive a large number of letters from the local Trackers' Guild, deciding on our next target.

Hunting down ferocious monsters ravaging villages, investigating the haunting incidents at the source of the great river, protecting the endangered Red Feathered Birds, repelling notorious bandit gangs... every request for assistance concealed some intelligence and benefits. In the eyes of ordinary people, those three-headed, six-armed monsters were the incarnations of death, but in our eyes, every part of those monsters was a gleaming gold coin. If it weren't for the villagers writing letters for help, who would know where to find these monsters?

Our rapid rise to fame was certainly due to a confluence of favorable circumstances—the times make heroes—but even more crucial was the strength of our team. The true abilities of our five-person group were the primary reason we were able to overcome countless challenges.

Yu Ni is indeed a professional in tracking and intelligence gathering, possessing numerous channels for acquiring information, making her extremely useful. Whether in bustling metropolises or primeval forests, her ability to fly grants her high mobility. Most importantly, she compensates for a fatal weakness in our group, becoming the mainstay of close combat. For example, during the battle in the Bronze City, it was she who withstood a barrage of crossbow bolts, giving Xue time to cast magic and save everyone's lives.

Even by Ishtar's standards, Xue, as a top-tier sorcerer, is an absolutely outstanding dark mage. Having accumulated experience in numerous life-or-death battles, Xue, who accompanied me on my journey, was virtually invincible. This conclusion was further confirmed in Copenhagen, where Xue single-handedly defeated an entire mage squad of enemy mercenaries.

Violet always stood guard in front of Xue, watching out for enemy attacks and even unleashing fire or lightning to defend her—a truly invaluable pet. Unfortunately, this proud black panther always ignored me and had a huge appetite, resulting in a budget deficit that made it difficult to consider it a good companion. If it weren't for Xue's close watch, I would have secretly changed its diet, at least avoiding the hassle of disposing of the bodies after each battle with the bandits.

If Violet was a useless companion, then the scoundrel middle-aged man, Mao Yanping, was a rotten partner who only made things worse. Although the uncle often gave us treasure hunting advice and important information, his advice… was mostly terrible! It was always the same routine : either we'd be navigating a perilous maze of traps, or, after finding treasure, we'd stumbled into the lair of some extinct beast, nearly losing our lives several times.

"Hahaha, being a tracker is inherently dangerous! Fortune favors the bold, right? If you're content with a peaceful life, stay home and be an ordinary citizen. But if you're going to venture out, risks are inevitable!"

After finally wiping out the Barbarossa bandits in the ancient temple, we all collapsed on the ground, barely escaping with our lives. The middle-aged man, frantically bandaging his wounds, tears streaming from his eyes, still let out a jarring laugh. But seeing that his wounds were no less than ours did make us feel a little better. He always liked to take out his sanxian (a three-stringed plucked instrument) and play and sing when his companions were most exhausted. When those melodious and cheerful tunes floated through the woods, around the campfire, and under the starry sky, even I, his most critical friend, had to admit it was a pleasure.

In short, eighteen months after officially entering the Tracker realm, our reputation soared, making us one of the most prominent Tracker teams on the land, and we even won the Most Promising Newcomer Team Award of the year. Along with fame and fortune, our strength grew, including the strength of my companions, and… my strength!

From Sara, Ahurama City, Martinres Fortress, Nanman Youli, and finally all the way to the East Sea, my life journey has been filled with trials and tribulations. I've witnessed storms that many people might not encounter in their entire lives, and from these trials, I've gained corresponding strength. Compared to the five strongest, or figures like Kato Taka and Ryan Buffett, I'm still just an insignificant junior, but compared to the average person, the vast majority of ordinary people, my abilities are more than sufficient!

It was autumn of my twentieth year. My companions and I, in the mountains west of Rosetta, were met with the desperate pleas of impoverished villagers. We accepted their tearful plea to stand up and fight against the legendary and vicious bandit group "Tengger"...

"In the name of Yu Ni, I command, Lei Yu Xing Ya, come forth!"

In my opinion, Yu Ni is a completely incompetent Beastmaster. She only knows this one move and can't come up with anything else. Even I, as her companion, am ashamed. However, as her strength increases, this Beastmaster summoning technique of randomly shooting light arrows has become a practical and effective skill. Each time it is suddenly unleashed, unprepared enemies fall in droves, just like the group of wailing thieves in front of us now.

"It's a half-orc Feather Clan! Everyone, don't crowd together, shoot her down!"

Yu Ni, having succeeded in her attack, immediately flapped her wings and soared straight into the clouds, flying in the clear sky. The band of thieves below could only watch her graceful figure and roar in anger. Even if the cavalry fired a barrage of arrows, how could they harm her in the sky?

"Switch to magic crossbows! And use explosive arrows!"

What a bunch of idiots! They have good weapons but don't know how to use them. Although magic crossbows can be enhanced by magic to increase the damage of water, fire, wind, and lightning, they don't help with the range. Possessing valuable armor-piercing explosive arrows indicates their superior weaponry; these powerful arrows could indeed bring down the Feather Clan female warrior. However… Yu Ni wasn't a fledgling bird that had just begun to fly.

Before the long-range explosive crossbows could even explode in the air, Yu Ni's wings billowed, intense wind element filling every feather. With each flap of her wings, a strong gust of wind was created, scattering all the explosive crossbows off course, sending them plummeting to the ground. They exploded mid-fall, their flames and heat sweeping across the ground, causing considerable chaos.

"Bring out the heavy crossbows! Archers, lock onto the enemy and pierce her through!"

With a deafening roar, the top of the enemy's wooden fortress opened, unleashing three heavy crossbows converted from catapults. Each heavy arrow mounted on the frame was a three-meter-long piece of timber, its tip inlaid with a tracking magic stone. To be pierced through by such a bolt was no joke.

However, this was the moment I had been waiting for. Once the enemy's heavily armed weapons appeared, Ah Xue, lurking in the shadows, would launch a targeted attack.

Just as the heavy crossbows were deployed, a crack appeared in the sky above the wooden fortress, and three enormous skeletal meteorites plummeted from the heavens, carrying a pungent stench. With tremendous force, they crashed down with a deafening roar. The bandits beside the heavy crossbows were terrified, hastily leaping over walls and tumbling down the buildings in their escape. But the moment they fled, the three heavy crossbows were pulverized by the skeletal meteorites.

'Dark-type intermediate magic - Skeletal Meteor.' This magic actually has other variations. If cast by a seventh-level archmage, the Skeletal Meteor, after causing initial damage upon impact, can immediately disintegrate into hundreds of skeleton soldiers, wielding swords and shields, attacking the surrounding area—a perfect airdrop and raid. Even more remarkably, dragon spirits can be summoned from the skeletal meteors, several skeletal dragons moving and causing destruction together—that scene is no joke.

Ah Xue's current abilities weren't enough to accomplish these things, but the Bone Meteor wasn't something to be used indiscriminately. After the bone meteor shattered the heavy crossbow and destroyed half of the wooden stockade, the stunned bandits on the ground cried out and frantically tried to escape from the swampy ground.

'Dark-type intermediate magic - Corrosive Mud.' The once solid ground became a putrid mud, not only causing people to sink deep into it but also rapidly corroding everything they were stuck in. Starting from the soles of their shoes, the pain quickly spread upwards, soon reaching their calves. Those who knew the danger turned and ran, but even the fastest runners couldn't escape the ten-zhang-wide swamp in such a hurry. So, the quick-thinking ones had no choice but to drop their weapons and use the metal that didn't decay quickly as stepping stones. The others followed suit, dropping their weapons and fleeing for their lives.

With just a couple of moves, the band of thieves were routed, trapped in the half-ruined wooden stockade like turtles in a jar. It was as simple as it sounded. Next, if they didn't have any other trump cards, they'd be flattened by Ah Xue's meteorite; if they did, they'd search for the nearby sorcerer. Having anticipated this, we'd use Ah Xue as bait, with Yu Ni sniping, taking down the powerful enemies one by one. But if the plan changed…

"Found the sorcerer! He's hiding here!"

"He's only next to a leopard, kill him!"

"He injured so many of our brothers, we can't let him go back alive, don't give him a chance to cast a spell!"

Damn it! You ignored the one desperately emitting dark energy, but you insisted on finding this one hiding so well. I'm covered in twigs and leaves, which eye of yours could tell I'm a sorcerer?

"Hey! Violet, see those guys? Go..."

Before I could even utter the word "bite," Violet seemed to have her tail on fire, sprinting away on all fours, her bat wings unfurling, and she vanished in the blink of an eye, leaving me dumbfounded. I never imagined that Mao Yanping's ability to flee in the face of battle had been passed down to this cowardly leopard.

"This is contagious? Do you fucking think this is foot-and-mouth disease?"

I glared at the tiny dot Violet disappearing into the air, still fuming, when a large crowd surged towards us from behind.

"Kill this skinny pig!"

"...Damn it! You're the ones who are a bunch of fat dogs!"

Enraged, I turned and cursed, flicking a finger. A moment later, I picked my nose with my finger, looking at the mountains of corpses and seas of blood around me, and the Water-Fire Demon Spiders strolling proudly among the carnage.

Although some of these bandits were skilled, their cultivation was ultimately limited. I could easily defeat them with a simple use of the Lustful Spirit's Body Infusion. Summoning the beasts was merely for more practice opportunities, because according to the records in the Yellow Crystal Stone, the more lives the Hellish Lustful God had taken and the heavier the sins, the stronger its power would become.

The Water-Fire Spiders and Phoenix Blood Bees, having absorbed more blood, had indeed improved their lethality. When the wooden gate of the stronghold swung open, a swarm of one-eyed giants wielding thick wooden clubs roared and charged out like a stampede of horses. The increased power of the Hellish Lustful God was beautifully demonstrated in this group of prey.

The Water-Fire Spiders emitted high-frequency cries, resonating with the fire elements in the atmosphere, transforming into thirteen high-temperature rockets that fired wildly at the one-eyed giants; the Phoenix Blood Bees also flapped their wings, manipulating the wind elements in the atmosphere, condensing them into seven vacuum wind blades, attacking the one-eyed giants from another direction.

Rockets and wind blades—these weren't direct attacks from the summoned beasts themselves, but rather magical attacks, making them far superior to the previous method of relying solely on summoned beasts for melee combat.

Cyclops, in the common knowledge of the trackers, were ferocious creatures to be avoided at all costs, their danger level nearly matching that of a wyvern. However, after a round of magical attacks from the two Hellish Gods, and then the trackers themselves charging in from the left and right, reaping the rewards of the magical assault in close combat, it only took a few breaths. Several cyclops were reduced to pieces of flesh on the ground, blending in with their bandit companions and becoming indistinguishable.

(Hmm! Magic fluctuations…)

I vaguely sensed an almost imperceptible magical fluctuation. I abruptly turned my head and discovered three mages hiding behind a banyan tree several dozen feet away, sneaking around, about to ambush me. From the characteristics of the magical fluctuations, I immediately recognized them as two wind mages and one dark wizard.

While wind magic wasn't weak, it was ultimately no more threatening than dark magic. The instant he cast his incantation, I raised the ring on my right middle finger—a rare treasure from the East Sea Sea God's Palace—and unleashed its water-based power once more.

"Counter-attack spell!"

"Whoa!"

Never expecting to encounter the most troublesome and unique incantation in water magic, the poor wizard's spell missed its mark. The spider silk sprayed by the Water-Fire Spider pierced his body, pulling him closer, its fangs digging into his flesh, cruelly sucking away his bodily fluids. A piercing scream immediately echoed through the sky.

The wind-based shockwave and vacuum blade were blocked in time by the Phoenix Blood Bee, and even pushed back, instantly killing two mages.

The two summoned beasts of the Lust God returned to my side to guard me, standing proudly amidst the mountains of corpses and seas of blood. On the other side, Ah Xue and Yu Ni also joined forces to break through the enemy's wooden fortress. When the half-destroyed building collapsed with a deafening roar, the delinquent middle-aged man who had been hiding nearby recording the situation finally revealed himself.

"The Tengger Thieves are finished, uncle. With this kind of strength... can they really be considered a legendary thief group?"

"They were actually quite good. They had a mage and even joined forces with a one-eyed troll. Even a regular army might not be able to take them down. But when they encountered you... they were legendary, the kind that will disappear soon..."
