"Fairy Honey" - Chapter 33: Admiration

As evening fell, Master Mu naturally hosted a banquet to entertain the guests.
The banquet was held atop the Eighteen Linjiang Tower, a magnificent building in the city. The Eighteen Linjiang Tower was a unique building constructed on a lake, with nine floors above the lake and nine floors below. Various rare and exotic creatures roamed the lake, and visitors could fish for them with magical bait on the upper floors or descend to the lower floors to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
Even as dusk settles, luminous stones float on the lake like stars. Each of the eight-sided pavilions is inlaid with a luminous pearl on each corner. The rippling lake water embraces the pavilion as it stands in the water, creating a beautiful scene of lake and building reflections.
"Tomorrow, Qi'er can take Miss Sikou upstairs to fish for spirit beasts." Madam Mu was helping her son Sikou Qin.
Si Kouqin blushed, but her eyes darted intently at Mu Lianqi. "Then I'll have to trouble you, Brother Lianqi."
Mu Lianqi's face froze. "Did I agree to that?"
An awkward silence...
Madam Mu cursed her son inwardly for being clueless about romance, but quickly smiled and smoothed things over, "Qi'er has never been in contact with women before and doesn't know how to speak properly. Miss Sikou, please don't take offense. In fact, he is the most hypocritical person."
Si Kouqin acted quite gently and sensibly: "Qin'er knows that Brother Lianqi is straightforward and his true feelings are rare. Qin'er admires him very much."
Madam Mu and Pavilion Master Mu exchanged a glance, both thinking to themselves that this young lady was quite nice.
When Mu Lianqi heard Si Kouqin confess her feelings to him in public, he hurriedly went to look at Zhi Mi, afraid that she might misunderstand. However, Zhi Mi's eyes were shining, and she was only looking at the rare and precious materials in the pavilion.
Feeling resentful, Mu Lianqi disregarded the presence of guests and declared to Si Kouqin in a cold and menacing voice, "But I do not love you!"
"You..." Madam Mu was speechless with anger.
Master Mu sighed and shook his head. His son was still clueless.
Si Kouqin's face turned pale instantly, but she bit her lip, her eyes welling up with tears, and said aggrievedly, "Qin'er knows that Brother Lianqi has a very clever mind, Qin'er shouldn't be thinking such foolish thoughts..."
"Hurry up and apologize to Miss Sikou!" Madam Mu almost slapped her son.
Mu Lianqi completely ignored her, only sneering at Si Kouqin, "It's good that you know your place!"
Madam Mu was furious. Zheng Yu scolded Mu Lianqi, but Yu Baimo laughed loudly.
"Haha... Madam, the young master is of noble character and has his own principles, so why should you worry about him?"
Madam Mu suppressed her anger and gave Yu Baimo a wry smile, "Fellow Daoist Baimo, you jest. What parent in the world doesn't worry about their children?"
Once seated, Zhi Mi naturally and sensibly retreated among the maids.
Mu Lianqi looked around for her, and seeing that she was so far away from him, his anger intensified.
Today, he thought he could finally make love with her, but who would have thought his mother would come and drag him here to accompany this damned Sikou Qin? Mu Lianqi was burning with lust, his mind filled with fantasies about how he would make love with her when they got back.
Zhi Mi, however, seemed distracted, her gaze never lingering on him.
Don't think he doesn't know that she's more interested in the rare treasures in the building than he is!
He was about to be handed over to Sikou Qin by his mother, but she wasn't worried at all. Now she's so far away from him, as if she wants to completely sever ties with him.
Mu Lianqi's face was as black as ink. He shouted at her sharply, "What are you standing so far away for? Get over here and serve me the food!"
Zhi Mi looked up, her expression bewildered: "Huh?"
Was Mu Lianqi calling her?
Madam Mu's voice was cold. "I have no use for you. You may leave." She then turned to Mu Lianqi and lectured, "Qi'er, how old are you? Can't you eat by yourself? Do you need someone to serve you food?"
