Alibuda Chronicles, Volume 15: Chapter 8: Waves Rising in the East Sea

I waited for Yueying to speak, but recalling the events of our time travel, I suddenly realized a problem I had overlooked.

Why would a survivor of the Water City Ten Tigers become the head of the Alibuda royal family's secret service? While this half-beast woman's martial arts skills were certainly sufficient for the position, and it wasn't surprising that the secret organization recruited bandits and death row inmates as its workers, when did they come together?

Was it after the Water City Ten Tigers' defeat? Or was the Water City Ten Tigers directly ordered by His Majesty the King from the very beginning? If this was the truth, then why did the Water City Ten Tigers kidnap Xiao Linglan? That kind of stalking wasn't just simple protection, and besides, Huamei confirmed to me that she had heard them say they were responsible for kidnapping Princess Leng and killing the little bastard next to her.

Having failed to kidnap Xiao Linglan, they've now tried to kidnap Yueying, and the mastermind behind it all is His Majesty the King. What on earth is going on...?

The more I thought about it, the stranger it seemed. A cold sweat broke out on my back. Just as I was about to speak, a series of coughs suddenly came from not far away,

startling me. I quickly turned around. After leaving us, Ryan hadn't disappeared like he had when he returned to Xiuchu. Instead, he stood at a distance, keeping watch to prevent any further mishaps. The coughs I heard were coming from his direction.

Coughing suddenly at such a crucial moment was rather unromantic, but we were more concerned about something else. Ryan's incessant coughing was highly unusual. With his powerful seventh-level cultivation, while not invincible, his internal and external skills were both highly refined. Unless he suffered internal injuries, there was no reason for him to cough like this. Could he have been seriously injured when he killed that half-beast woman?

"Cough!"

With a heavy cough, Ryan not only coughed but also spat out blood, clearly indicating a relapse of his internal injuries.

"Ryan!" Seeing her husband coughing up blood and staggering, Yueying was shocked and rushed towards him.

(It doesn't make sense. Ryan's martial arts are so high. He fought a level 6 enemy with level 7 strength. How could he be injured? Is the backlash from the Shattered Dream Blade really that strong?)

I was stunned and confused. Just as I was about to run after Yueying, my heart suddenly tightened. A very uncomfortable feeling

, like cold sweat, suddenly welled up inside me. This feeling was like the danger of prey being watched by a hunter. It was so dangerous that it made me break out in a cold sweat, but this wasn't the first time I had encountered

this feeling... Where? Where have I felt this way before? What place? When?

I took a step forward and grabbed Yueying, preventing her from getting closer to Ryan. Ryan also waved for Yueying to stay away and smiled gently to indicate that he was fine and that we didn't need to worry.

"Don't worry, I'm fine, you can continue..."

Just before us, Ryan waved to us, as if about to say something. In that instant, a cold, sharp blade flashed like a crescent moon, curving across his body. This flash of cold light jolted me awake, triggering a memory from months ago, and a name that had almost become my nightmare.

"Ghostly Evening!"

The moment I shouted, a torrent of blood erupted from Ryan's chest and abdomen. The President of the Golden Flower Federation, the first Chairman of the International Alliance, had fallen victim to the Black Dragon Society's strongest assassin.

Emerging from Ryan's shadow with the Black Dragon Society's mysterious ninjutsu, it was impossible to defend against. Taking advantage of Ryan's internal injuries and weakened state, the assassin completely controlled the timing and location, delivering a deadly blow—a model of assassination.

That strike... was incredibly ruthless.

Amidst the splattering blood, it was especially clear that the eerie ninja-style swordsmanship, like a venomous snake, had bitten into Ryan's vitals. The deep, heavy blow nearly severed Ryan's body diagonally, shattering his intestines.

True to his name, the Lion King, Ryan did not give up his fierce counterattack. Even with his body almost broken in two, he remained incredibly brave, drawing his Lion King Golden Sword and using his remaining strength to thrust at the dark figure behind him, attempting a desperate attempt to take them both down with him.

However, hampered by his injuries, his strength plummeted as he lay dying. His attack, weaker than even a fifth-level strike, failed to harm the unpredictable ninja. Instead, Ghostly Evening finished him off with another blow, before floating towards us… Judging from the amount of blood and the size of the wound, I knew it was a fatal one.

"Traitor! Where do you think you're going!"

Hui Xiuchu, who had just left, rushed back. Seeing Ryan's murder, he was like a raging tiger, chasing after Gui Meixi. This caused Gui Meixi to abandon her attack on us. She spun in mid-air and soared into the sky. The two high-speed figures, one chasing and the other fleeing, disappeared into the distant rooftops in the blink of an eye.

Hui Xiuchu was undoubtedly a step too late, unable to save Ryan in time. However, he was not entirely without merit. At least, because of him, Gui Meixi was unable to completely eliminate me and Yueying, allowing us to reach Ryan's side at this final moment and say our last words to him.

"...I...can't go on..."

It wasn't a particularly original opening, but the heaviness it conveyed was unparalleled. This great leader, who sat firmly on the presidency of the Golden Flower Federation, single-handedly controlling the power dynamics of various countries, and who would soon become the first international leader in history, lay before us, covered in blood and with incomplete limbs, letting his remaining life force rapidly fade away.

Things happened so suddenly that I haven't felt a sense of reality, but now that feeling is slowly rising. I'm beginning to realize the immense impact this man's death will have on this land—a terrifying consequence I can't even imagine.

"...I...I miscalculated..."

Despite his fatal wounds, Ryan, with his refined internal energy, spoke to us with composure and clear mind.

He told us that although this time he used the Black Dragon Society's existence to create pressure and force an international alliance, once established, his goal wasn't war, but rather to organize the nations of the land, strengthen economic and political exchanges, form a system, and eliminate conflicts through a benevolent approach. If the international alliance was united enough, the Black Dragon Society would have no opening and would crumble without a fight. This ideal had already taken its first step, but with his death, the whole situation changed.

The organization, painstakingly united, will soon crumble. The news of the president's assassination will cause a sudden upheaval among the people of the Golden Flower Federation and its external allies, leading to a war against the Black Dragon Society in a short period. Regardless of victory or defeat, massive casualties will be unavoidable, peace will be hopeless, and the land will be exploited by those with ulterior motives and conspirators, steer the fate of the entire land towards a dark world.

Ryan's voice grew weaker, but his tone was quite agitated, his tiger-like eyes flashing with regret and even glistening with sorrowful tears. I don't know much about politics, but judging from Ryan's words, these are not unfounded rumors; they are indeed a very likely future scenario.

"Just give me three more years... no, just one more year... just one more year, and the alliance's organizational structure can be formed, and the people of the land can live a better life... I hate it so much, is this how a world without war ends..."

A dying man's words are often kind. Before, I had questioned Ryan's mindset, thinking his purpose in establishing the International Alliance was to perpetuate his hegemony, clinging to power and unwilling to leave. But seeing him on his deathbed, not mentioning any arrangements for his affairs, only worrying about the people of the land with tears in his eyes, I realized he truly wanted to create a peaceful land without war.

Yueying knelt beside Ryan, tightly holding her husband's gradually cooling hand. Her pale yellow dress was stained with blood, her beautiful face streaked with tears, she sobbed uncontrollably, unable to utter a complete sentence, only telling Ryan not to worry.

“…Princess Sakura…thank you for helping me fulfill my dreams all these years…Ryan Buffett…kept his promise from twelve years ago…but I can no longer be your knight…I can no longer protect you…I hope you…are happy…”

His blood-stained blond hair was dull and lifeless. Ryan’s voice suddenly became urgent, gripping Yueying’s hand tightly, even his previously sorrowful smile became painfully distorted.

“…Go quickly…you can’t stay here any longer…after I die, Leng Qiji will immediately leave you behind under the pretext of safety…he can’t know I’m dead…otherwise he will definitely……”

Ryan’s words left me completely bewildered, yet an indescribable fear welled up within me, as if a cruel truth was hidden within, slowly being revealed to me.

“I know, I know, thank you…for protecting me all these years.”

Yueying tightly grasped her husband’s hand, suppressing her sobs, nodding desperately to express her gratitude. But the scene didn’t resemble a couple giving their final instructions; rather, it looked like a princess bidding a dying farewell to a guardian knight.

Hearing Yueying's words, Ryan's contorted expression of pain softened into a peaceful one. I didn't know if he was enduring the pain or if he was no longer in pain. I only saw him turn to face me, revealing a final smile.

"John..."

Ryan laboriously raised his arm and waved it at me. I understood his meaning and quickly reached out, clenched my fist, and slowly pushed it towards him.

The two men's fists lightly touched, making a sound like a high-five.

"...Everything is in your hands now."

Like a final farewell, Ryan's hand fell limply to his side. This leader of giants passed away, ending his tumultuous life before our very eyes.

Ryan was dead. But the responsibility he passed on had only just begun.

I turned to look at Yueying, feeling that she must have something to say to me, and now was the time to say it.

"Sister."

Time was of the essence; someone could arrive at any moment, and I didn't want to overstimulate Yueying, so I thought of a way.

"I...I have something to tell you. Actually, I've done a lot of messy things. All those scandals circulating outside are true."

In the shortest amount of time, I quickly recounted what had happened in the past few years, including the Battle of Ahuramar and the Battle of Martinres Fortress, telling the general outline of the events. I spoke the truth, and of course, confessed all the very dirty and sordid facts.

"I'm actually a very rotten guy. I've done a lot of despicable things and I'm not worthy of you at all. But even so, I still want to be with you, is that okay?"

These words clearly had an effect. Yueying, who had been staring blankly at Ryan, finally stood up after a brief silence, facing me with a troubled expression, and finally spoke.

“I… am not a good woman either. Little brother, you probably don’t remember, but when you were little, during the time I helped take care of you, I… did many bad and unforgivable things to you. I’ve felt guilty for the past few years, but… even so, I’ve never regretted it…”

Yueying told me her feelings. It was a complete confession from a pedophile. If I hadn’t gone back in time and remembered everything, I might have been shocked to hear these words. But now I was fully prepared. No matter what Yueying said, my expression remained unchanged, without any shock. I just kept telling her that these things were not a problem.

But there still seemed to be things I didn't know…

“No, you don't understand… Twelve years ago, Ryan and I were friends. I knew his secret. He made a promise with me that if I married him and helped him cover up his secret, he would protect me and take me away from Alibuda. So… that's why I left you.”

“Protect? Protect… what? Is someone hurting you?”

My puzzled question made Yueying nod vigorously. She wiped away her tears and took a deep breath, as if trying to gather courage.

Dark clouds gradually rolled in, obscuring the night sky and blocking out the light. Yueying, standing there, was quickly enveloped in darkness, her face and expression hidden. The gloom grew heavier and heavier, and even I felt a tightness in my chest.

“Yes, that person… is my father. Eighteen years ago, that night, he… he raped me.”

The words were like thunder in my ears. I didn't want to believe what I heard, but the facts that kept coming left me with no choice.

Eighteen years ago, when Yueying was only ten years old, one night, her father, Leng Qiji, suddenly appeared in her room and assaulted her. Her usually gentle and kind father suddenly revealed a ferocious, bestial face. Yueying was completely powerless to resist and could only let it happen.

That night became the most haunting nightmare of her life.

But it wasn't just one night. In the following years, Leng Qiji, having tasted the sweetness of rape, repeatedly sneaked into his daughter's bedroom at night, repeatedly raping her. In

the deepest corner of the palace, the most filthy and dark place, when the other party was the emperor who held supreme power, he could do whatever he wanted. Young Yueying had no one to turn to for help, and could only hide under the covers every night, trembling, listening to the approaching footsteps, crying and praying that the night would end quickly. When Yueying

revealed her deepest secrets, she showed no trace of her usual elegance and composure; she cried one moment, laughed the next, and then squatted on the ground, her entire mind out of control. I didn't know what to do. Several times I wanted to interrupt Yueying and tell her to stop.

But that would be the worst thing to do, because Yueying had finally mustered the courage to tell me this sordid past. If I interrupted her, the problem would only fester and erupt more violently later. So, I had to hear this cursed story completely…

“…I’ve been enduring it all, hoping it would just pass, but…one day I noticed my father looking at Linglan with the same eyes he used to look at me…”

To prevent the tragedy from repeating itself, Yueying brought her younger sister to my house, where they always stayed until late at night, and often even spent the night at the noble mansion.

But…why my house?

“Uncle… Commander Yuantang grew up with my father and they’ve been friends for many years. He’s also the person my father fears most. Only he can make my father have any reservations. As long as we stay in the manor… my father can’t find us…”

It wasn’t surprising at all. Growing up with someone like my twisted father was a terrifying disaster. No wonder I always felt that His Majesty the King’s personality was a bit abnormal; I never imagined he would be so afraid of my twisted father.

“…So, you didn’t come here to take care of me, right?”

I smiled slightly, feeling a little disappointed, but not sad. Because regardless of the motive, Yueying had taken care of me, and that was the fact I knew.

The subsequent events are not hard to imagine. Yueying met Ryan, who became a better talisman and safe haven. She made a deal with him, with each getting what they wanted. Yueying married him to increase his political prestige and capital, while concealing his sexuality. Ryan was responsible for protecting Yueying and putting pressure on Leng Qiji to prevent him from harming his other daughters, which allowed Princess Linglan and Princess Xingmei to grow up safely.

“That day, you told me I was very beautiful, and if I didn’t hug you more now, my husband would get a good deal later… That was something he used to say all the time.”

No wonder Yueying’s face changed drastically back then; I had unintentionally uttered a forbidden word…

“I hid in the Farrell’s mansion. You were only six years old then, so cute… At first, I just wanted to do to you what my father had done to me, but… the more time passed, the more attracted I became to you. Back then… I was terrified of other men, but only you… always made me… Am I an abnormal woman?”

Yueying’s tears flowed, but the sound that came out was laughter, and within that laughter was boundless sorrow and a near-collapse of madness. Only now did I understand that Yueying’s twisted sexuality was not innate, but formed little by little under the pressure of her environment.

“Sister!”

“At first, he lied to me… I didn’t know it was wrong. He said that’s how a father loves his daughter, that all the women in the palace are his…” Yueying’s laughter slowly turned into a sob, sounding incredibly pitiful.

"Later... I finally realized this was incest, it was wrong. Every night he would touch my bed, and I would cry and beg him to stop, to stop touching his own daughter, but he ignored me... He... He raped me... I kept crying and screaming for help, but it was no use... All the guards and maids pretended not to hear me..."

Yueying sobbed incessantly, tears streaming down her face. A crack had appeared in the dark clouds, and pale moonlight shone through, casting a slanted shadow of Yueying. She was no longer the elegant and noble princess, but a helpless woman who, on many nights more than a decade ago, had cried out in vain.

I regret that if I had been born a decade or so earlier, I would have desperately tried to stop it, but now... what can I do to make amends?

“I came back to Alibuda this time because I wanted to see you… But as soon as I’m alone, he suddenly appears… telling me not to forget those days, saying how filial I used to be… Linglan knows these things, which is why she keeps urging me to leave… Waaah… Why? Why did my family become like this? Waaah, I didn’t want this… Waaah… I didn’t want this at all… I didn’t want this…”

Hearing this, I couldn’t hold back anymore. I rushed forward and hugged Yueying tightly. Yueying immediately burst into tears, wailing like a little girl, releasing all the sorrow that had accumulated in her heart over the years.

And I, without realizing it, also had tears in my eyes. I held my sister in my arms and comforted her repeatedly.

“Sister, my love for you hasn’t changed, just like in the beginning.” I gently patted Yueying’s back and said firmly, “Even knowing all this, I still want to say the same thing: I don’t want anyone but you. If I can’t give you happiness, happiness has no meaning for me.”

Hearing this, Yueying hugged me, bursting into tears, murmuring my name, and clinging to my neck with infinite longing.

“Little brother, little brother…”

“Sister, the nightmare is over. Please entrust your future to me. I will definitely make you happy.”

I reached out and wiped away Yueying’s tears, gently, gently kissing her soft lips, licking away the slightly alkaline teardrops. When the kiss ended, I pulled away, and in her eyes, the gloom and sadness were gone, replaced by a warm smile.

“Sister, Little John kept his promise from twelve years ago… I’ve come to pick you up.”

Hearing my words, Yueying showed a surprised expression, as if astonished that I remembered the past, but this incredulous expression quickly turned into a joyful smile.

I extended my hand, and Yueying slowly but firmly followed, placing it in my palm as if we were about to walk hand in hand into a wedding hall, letting me hold her soft, boneless hand.

"From now on, please continue to...give me happiness."

Fulfilling the promise delayed for twelve years was a heartwarming joy for both Yueying and me. However, the current situation prevented us from enjoying this tenderness; we had to act immediately.

Ryan was right. If Leng Qiji knew Ryan was dead, that heartless man would use every means to keep his daughter. And Alibuda was his sphere of influence; as long as she was within Alibuda's borders, Yueying's situation would be dangerous, and she had to leave immediately.

But...where to go?

I was at a loss, but suddenly an idea struck me. Yueying's stunning beauty was known throughout the world, but few knew of her extensive knowledge and political experience. Coupled with her status as Ryan's widow, couldn't she develop a new path?

"Sister, I've got an idea. You go back to the Golden Flower Federation immediately and run for councilor in the year-end elections. If you win, that old bastard Leng Qiji won't be able to touch you."

With some hesitation, Yueying accepted my suggestion, but the most important thing right now was to find a way to leave this place.

I told Yueying to go back and prepare to leave immediately, while I went back to the banquet hall to find Mao Yan'an, intending to cover up Yueying's emergency retreat and arrange to meet her again in the Golden Flower Federation.

The banquet hall was still as noisy as ever, but Phoenix had disappeared. I found Mao Yan'an and urgently instructed him on a few things to do as quickly as possible.

Mao Yan'an looked very surprised and told me that everything was fine and could be done immediately.

"...But have you really thought this through? The consequences of doing this will be severe!"

"Enough talk. Just tell me if you want to help or not."

Mao Yan'an left with a sense of loyalty, while I headed towards His Majesty's location after he left. When the guards blocked my way as usual, I said I had urgent military intelligence to report and requested an audience with His Majesty.

Having just been overshadowed by me, Leng Qiji's expression was quite unpleasant, but upon hearing my urgent report about the Princess, he immediately approached, dismissing the others as I wished, and demanded a detailed explanation.

"Your Majesty, regarding the task you entrusted to me, what I have to say is..."

I deliberately muffled my voice, and as he approached, seemingly to listen to the people, I suddenly delivered a powerful kick to his filthy groin.

"Waaah!"

The ugly man's screams were even more unpleasant. His pig-like wail sounded particularly shrill amidst the uproar of the dignitaries from various countries. I, who had been preparing to act, certainly wouldn't let it end with just a simple "child-crushing kick." I raised my arm and delivered another heavy punch, striking his fleshy face.

"You damn old dog, get the hell out of here!"

The hardness of my hand and the blood spraying into the air confirmed that I had knocked out several of his teeth and seriously injured him. If I could, I would have liked to chop him up with a knife, but he was, after all, Yueying's biological father, and this was not what Yueying wanted.

At this moment, the guests and guards, who had been stunned by the events, had come to their senses and realized that a treasonous act was taking place before them. They began to come forward to apprehend him, but I had already prepared smoke bombs and smoke scrolls. Once released, the entire place was filled with smoke.

The security in the banquet hall was arranged by Mao Yan'an and me. Although the guards were quite skilled, none of them were as familiar with the terrain and secret passages as I was. They easily escaped and reached the entrance of the post station.

When I returned to the Farrell Mansion, Mao Yan'an and A Xue had already made preparations, and even the carriage was parked there. The three of us hurriedly got into the carriage and headed towards the city gate.

(It might be a long time before I can go back...)

I couldn't help but sigh, but the old folks at home lined up at the door, smiling and waving at me.

"Young Master, this space is too cramped for you. Release the roc into the vast sky, please make good use of your wings!"

I never expected Uncle Fu to suddenly say such philosophical words. Before I could respond, the carriage headed straight for the city gate.

Before the news could spread, we easily left the city, but soon after, a large army appeared. We fought our way out, hoping to attract their attention for a little longer so that Yueying and her group could escape successfully. As a result, after delaying for a quarter of an hour, we were finally surrounded. The cavalry around us were not only strong and well-equipped, but Leng Linglan's heroic figure also appeared at the head of the commanding formation.

Enemies meeting are especially hateful. I loudly mocked her for being so heartless now, completely unrecognizable from the childhood sweethearts we were once close friends.

Leng Linglan didn't respond directly, but after a brief silence, she said she admired what I had done for a certain woman, and she fully understood my intention in causing such a commotion to cover for her. Therefore, the person I was protecting had now safely left.

These words brought me a sense of relief, but Leng Linglan, clearly intending to settle a personal score, turned on me in an instant, saying I was absolutely unworthy of creating happiness for that woman, and to avoid further trouble for her, she wanted me dead here.

"Bullshit! Bring it on if you want my life!"

A bloody battle was inevitable. I knew my strength was insufficient; Leng Linglan and thousands of cavalry were far beyond what the three of us could handle. But Ah Xue possessed the ultimate move of the Great Sun Mirror, so perhaps we could gamble our lives.

The situation was on the verge of exploding when Mao Yan'an looked up at the moon, as if calculating something, muttering something about the time being up, about it almost expiring.

I didn't know what he was up to, but when Leng Linglan ordered the entire army to charge, a voice suddenly rang out from the west, like the wailing of ten thousand ghosts, incredibly mournful and eerie. Then, a large number of vampire bats and skeleton legions charged in.

"The Ishtar are here!"

someone in the cavalry cried out in despair. Then chaos erupted as Leng Linglan led the charge against the Ishtar's undead assault force, the battle cries deafening.

Completely bewildered, I glanced at Mao Yan'an and asked him how he had managed to summon these reinforcements. He replied that they weren't reinforcements, but a deadly enemy force.

"Narcissa didn't come to save us, she's furious and coming to hunt us down!"

"Huh? Why?"

"Remember that Tamako Spirit Cat?"

"Yeah, what's it to do with that?"

"...I gave her a cursed spirit cat. Sorry, the effect just wore off, and now she's come after us."

"What? Hellokitty?"

I'd heard of that evil creature before. It's supposedly a drug-like thing, especially effective on women, having an incredible bewitching effect. Once under its influence, they become infatuated, unable to extricate themselves, laughing foolishly in a daze, and even going bankrupt for it without complaint.

From a man's perspective, this is a truly evil cat comparable to the six great dark summons. And judging from the situation, Narcissa, now awakened from that soul-destroying curse, is extremely dissatisfied with this damned Tamako Spirit Cat and vows to kill me and Mao Yan'an to vent her anger. If we don't take advantage of this opportunity to escape while there's a scapegoat blocking our way, trouble is bound to follow sooner or later.

"John Farrell, get out here! Get out here!"

A furious roar from Narcissus echoed in the distance, accompanied by the chilling aura of a blade tearing through the air, followed by sinister magical fluctuations. Clearly, Narcissus and Leng Linglan, these two sworn enemies, had clashed.

"Master, when Miss Zhizhi delivered the clothes, she asked me to tell you that she'll be waiting for you in Solancia."

Zhizhi and I had arranged to meet in Solancia…

Yueying and I had arranged to meet in the Golden Flower Federation…

"Nephew, we have to get out of here! Which way should we go?"

"Uncle, we'll go east, to the East Sea!"

I couldn't return to Alibuda anytime soon. If I couldn't carve out a new territory outside, I'd have nowhere to go, whether to Solancia or the Golden Flower Federation. Considering this, the war-torn East Sea was the perfect place for my next romantic adventure.

I galloped ahead, raising dust as my companions caught up behind me.

"Let's go, Xue, Uncle, let's get going! There's something good waiting for us in the East Blue!"

"That's right, let's go conquer Pokémon again!"

"You...you shouldn't keep bringing up that electric rat!"

Author's Note:

The book, originally scheduled for release on July 20th, has been delayed until August, which was completely unexpected. The reason for this is due to issues unrelated to the manuscript.

What do you all think of the cover featuring the moon and cherry blossoms? If readers like it, then this delay will have been worthwhile. That being said, having to publish a book with a gap in publication due to the artist's artwork delay isn't exactly honorable.

The artist is very demanding in terms of quality; if a drawing doesn't meet their expectations, they'll redraw it. This dedication is reflected in the high quality of their artwork. However, from the publisher's and author's perspective, timely and stable publication is paramount, and encountering such a problem is indeed very troublesome.

The covers of the last two volumes have received considerable praise from readers, and I myself find them irresistible. I hope to collaborate with the illustrator long-term, as creating a high-quality work requires more than just the author's skill. Whether the cover for the sixth volume will also be this excellent artist depends on his willingness and effort.

When I was a reader, I often felt disappointed when I saw works I loved, because the artist's work clearly had nothing to do with the book. For loyal readers who wanted to collect their favorite novels, this was always frustrating. Every time I saw my collection on my desk, I wanted to sigh. So, now that I'm an author and have the ability to influence the cover, I want to pay even more attention to this.

However, reality is truly difficult. Good illustrators are often unreliable, and those who are punctual often plagiarize. Must authors compromise between the two? The state of the Chinese-language publishing market is truly disheartening.

Does this volume count as a happy ending for lovers? I don't think so. After all, in terms of their identities, they are simply an adulterous couple.

Chapter Three is a rather taboo chapter, one I considered writing, but ultimately decided to include it. There's not much to explain here; it simply means that some writers pursue truth, goodness, and beauty, while others only pursue truth and beauty.

The Sara arc concludes in volume five, and volume six will begin the East Sea arc, expected to release on October 20th. I hope it will be on time, as the manuscript is finished, but… I just hope the artist from Alibuda works hard enough.
