Chapter 8: Exploring the Heavenly Sinkhole in the Continent of Wind and Moon

"Is this the sinkhole?" Ye Tianlong asked, gazing at the deep valley below.

"Yes, sir!" Ji Wujiu pointed to the precipitous cliffs of the valley, where there was almost no foothold: "The secret cave is on the left side of the mountain wall."

This was a depression in the heart of Qingfeng Mountain, surrounded by towering cliffs and strange rocks. The sinkhole was like a suddenly collapsed piece of land, only a mile in circumference but several miles deep, overgrown with lush vegetation. From Ye Tianlong's position, it resembled a small, emerald-green pond, with wisps of white clouds and mist rising from it from time to time.

Ye Tianlong strained his eyes but couldn't see the so-called secret cave, so he gave up on the idea.

"Let's go down." With that, he took the lead in climbing down. Liu Qin'er, Cynthia, and the other goddess warriors followed behind him, carefully leaping down the mountain wall.

Descending into the sinkhole, the perilous nature of the place became apparent. The surrounding cliffs acted like walls, encircling it and creating a powerful sense of oppression. The sinkhole was filled with towering pines and cypresses, some so thick that several people could barely encircle them. Their dense foliage blocked out the sun, instilling a sense of gloom.

The occasional gusts of cold wind blowing from the forest added to the chill, making even the most skilled and courageous feel a strange sense of dread in such a treacherous place.

Led by Ji Wujiu, Ye Tianlong and his companions traversed this isolated, wild land. After passing through the dense forest of giant trees, they reached a rocky area with jagged rocks and stalagmites. Suddenly

, Ji Wujiu stopped. "Someone has gone in before us!" he exclaimed, his face filled with surprise.

Ye Tianlong was startled and quickly asked, "How did you know?"

Ji Wujiu pointed ahead, where there was a narrow path formed by two huge rocks, only wide enough for one person to pass sideways. Above the rocks was a stone dome made of crisscrossing stalagmites.

“This narrow passage is the only way to the secret cave. The three small stones I placed here using special methods have now changed position. Someone must have knocked them over while passing by,”

Liu Qin’er said dismissively. “Couldn’t it have been destroyed by birds or beasts passing by?”

Ji Wujiu said with certainty, “No. This sinkhole is very strange. No birds or beasts have ever appeared here. There seems to be a mysterious power inside the sinkhole that keeps all birds and beasts away. When we discovered this, we concluded that there was something strange here. And after the people of Snek learned of the danger of this place, they stopped sending people here. So, this must be a trace left by an outsider.”

Ye Tianlong said anxiously, “Then let’s hurry over there, before they get the first move!”

"Let's be careful," Ji Wujiu reminded everyone. "Last time, Snek's men encountered danger here, with many dying inexplicably, which finally stopped him from exploring further."

Hearing Ji Wujiu's words, Ye Tianlong and the others naturally became fully alert and on high alert. After carefully passing through this strange rocky forest, a clearing appeared ahead. It was a vast open space filled with weeds and miscellaneous trees. About ten feet ahead was a hole about the size of a person, which was now shimmering with a strange red light, and wisps of mist were constantly drifting out from inside. However,

what surprised Ye Tianlong and the others was not the hole itself, but the group of people standing in front of it. These people were of varying heights and builds, but all of them had piercing eyes, exuding the aura of experts. Among them, Ye Tianlong could tell at a glance that three of them were not to be trifled with.

On the left stood an old man with a silver beard and hair, and a pointed snout. He wasn't tall, even somewhat thin and small, but his pair of piercing, eagle-like eyes were quite terrifying. The sword on his back was antique and mottled, with several dazzling gems embedded in its hilt, gleaming with an eerie light. Behind him stood six burly, muscular men dressed in black, their bodies thick and their menacing expressions radiating ferocity.

The other two men, standing on the right side of the cave entrance, were dressed in brocade robes, embroidered belts around their waists, and long swords at their sides. They appeared to be brothers, both tall and imposing, with dignified features, tiger-like eyes that commanded respect even without anger, broad noses, wide mouths, square faces, and large ears. One of them had a large mustache and was likely the elder. Behind them stood four more burly men, dressed in fiery red clothes, their faces contorted with rage, like malevolent demons.

Upon seeing these people, Ji Wujiu stamped his foot and exclaimed, "Oh no! I didn't expect the news to spread so quickly! Even they've come!"

Ye Tianlong was startled upon hearing this and asked, "Do you know the origins of these people?"

Ji Wujiu replied with considerable surprise, "Doesn't Your Excellency know about the Ten Great Masters of the Continent?"

Liu Qin'er also said curiously, "That's right, the Ten Great Masters of the Continent, renowned throughout the various kingdoms, haven't you heard of them, Tianlong?" For nearly thirty years, the story of the Ten Great Masters had circulated on the Fengyue Continent, and anyone with even a little knowledge knew these ten resounding names.

Ye Tianlong nodded slightly and said unhappily, "How could I not know these ten famous figures? Those two old men, Wang Shi and Fengyue Zhenjun, still owe me a huge debt!" What he didn't say was that he had only heard of these people's names; he only truly knew Wang Shi and Fengyue Zhenjun.

This time it was Ji Wujiu's turn to be surprised. He scratched his head and said in confusion, "Wang Shi, Fengyue Zhenjun, and Xueshan Laoren, although these three are ranked among the top ten masters, people unanimously believe that their martial arts skills far surpass the other seven. In addition, they have been out of the public eye for a long time and have disappeared without a trace, so they are also known as the Three Immortals of the Continent. Some people no longer consider them to be on par with these masters, and some even believe that they have already ascended to immortality."

Ye Tianlong grunted and said, "Don't worry, those two old guys are still very energetic!"

Although Ji Wujiu did not know why Ye Tianlong had such an attitude towards Wang Shi and Fengyue Zhenjun, he just smiled and pointed to the old guy to explain to Ye Tianlong, "He is Wenjian Ke, the master of Wenjian Zhai. His Four Absolute Swords are unpredictable. His disciples are said to number three thousand swordsmen. He is a grandmaster-level figure in Pali."

After saying that, she pointed to the two burly men in brocade robes and said, "These two are no ordinary men either. Speaking of the Dragon

Hall Twins, they are household names in Ludian. Their combined attack technique is unparalleled." Liu Qin'er continued, "Hmph, the Dragon Hall Twins are nothing special! They just attract attention because of their eccentric personalities."

Ji Wujiu smiled bitterly and said, "Grandma, don't underestimate them. At least in terms of martial arts, they are on par with General Feifeng."

Ye Tianlong said with great curiosity, "They are the Dragon Hall Twins? How come they look so young?"

Rumors circulated that the Dragon Hall Twins, who disliked women, had homosexual tendencies. While homosexuality was not uncommon among the powerful and wealthy of the Fengyue Continent, it wasn't a shameful thing. However, the Dragon Hall Twins were talked about because of the special relationship between the two brothers, which was enough to make everyone take notice.

In Ye Tianlong's memory, the Dragon Hall Twins were also masters who had been famous for over twenty years, but they looked only in their thirties. Time seemed to have left no trace on their faces.

Liu Qin'er guessed, "Maybe they practice some kind of anti-aging technique?"

Her words sparked a flurry of thoughts in a man who was quite knowledgeable about anti-aging techniques, because in his limited knowledge, such techniques required the dual cultivation of men and women.

"How could two men practice that? Heh!" Thinking of this, Ye Tianlong's gaze towards the two grown men changed somewhat.

"Who's lurking here? Come out now!" A loud shout rang out, clearly indicating that the people at the cave entrance had noticed Ye Tianlong and his companion.

Seeing Ye Tianlong and his companions appear proudly before them, the expressions of Wen Jianke and the two heroes of the Dragon Hall tightened slightly. They stared at Ye Tianlong and his group, noticing their fearless approach and apparent disregard for their status as experts, and felt a surge of displeasure.

Wen Jianke couldn't help but suddenly exclaim, "What an honor! To see Lord Dongdu of Fast here!"

"Huh? When did I become so famous? Even the top ten experts know me!"

Ye Tianlong was initially smug, but then realized the old man's eyes held a mocking glint.

Sure enough, Wen Jianke continued, "Wherever Lord Dongdu appears, there are always beauties in droves!"

"You old fool, how dare you look down on me!" Ye Tianlong was furious, but his face remained calm as he said, "Master, you flatter me. Why didn't you inform me when you arrived in my territory? I could have extended my hospitality." As he spoke, his eyes met Wen Jianke's without fear.

Ye Tianlong's confrontational attitude surprised both the Sword Inquirer and the Dragon Hall Duo. Facing the top ten masters of the continent without flinching, Ye Tianlong's courage truly exceeded their expectations.

However, for Ye Tianlong, after spending time with Wang Shi and witnessing the epic battle between Wang Shi and Fengyue Zhenjun, no master could frighten him anymore.

If he were to hesitate before even engaging in combat because of an opponent's reputation, he could only unleash seventy percent of his full power, sometimes even less than half.

"Hahahaha, to enter without warning is to be a thief!"

A long laugh came from the side, its sound capable of shattering metal and stone, followed by the appearance of several figures in the stone pillar forest.

Ye Tianlong turned his head and saw a man in his forties with a leopard-like head and piercing eyes, wearing a brocade robe with rolled edges. He carried no weapon, but the seven burly men behind him, with thick eyebrows and large eyes, all carried terrifying killing tools. The heavy tiger-head hooks hanging from their belts indicated that they were all superhumanly strong men. Yet, they moved with ease, showing no sign of their weight; these men's martial arts skills were truly remarkable. The

Swordsman's face fell, and he said coldly, "Zhang Lie, what are you doing here?"

Upon hearing this, Ye Tianlong was secretly startled. The man before him was actually Zhang Lie, the commander of the Tianhe New Army. It seemed that more and more people knew about the Divine Sword. He wondered what other experts would appear later.

Zhang Lie laughed and said, "With the divine sword appearing, how could I, Zhang, miss this feast for the eyes?"

Long Tangyi, the eldest of the two heroes of the Dragon Hall, said coldly, "Alright! As long as you can break the seal on this cave, you can feast your eyes right away!"

Zhang Lie exclaimed, somewhat disbelievingly, "Can't even you two, both ranked among the top ten masters, break the seal?"

The Sword Inquirer said irritably, "Nonsense, otherwise we would have gone in long ago, instead of wasting our breath here with you bastards!"

Ye Tianlong then realized that the guys who had been pointing and gesturing at the cave entrance earlier were actually trying to break the seal on the cave entrance. He glanced at Ji Wujiu beside him and said softly, "Didn't you notice this restriction when you came here before?"

Ji Wujiu shook his head and replied in a low voice, "We didn't the first time. We found those magical armors and bewitching banners inside the cave, but we didn't notice anything unusual when we took them. It's just that the second time we came, we couldn't even get into the narrow passage in front of us, and many people died there for no reason.

I didn't expect that we could get through that place smoothly this time."

At this moment, Zhang Lie's men also tried at the cave entrance, and as expected, they couldn't break through the invisible barrier in front of the cave entrance. The red light seemed to be a net of air blocking the cave entrance, and no matter how much force the opponent used, it was bounced back.

Seeing this, Long Tang'er, the second of the two heroes of Long Tang, sneered, "Zhang Lie, don't embarrass your men. This is a strange spell, it can't be opened by brute force!"

Zhang Lie ignored Long Tang'er's words and turned to whisper a few words to a big man beside him. The burly man leaped forward, drew his tiger-head hook from his waist, raised it high above his head, and slowly channeled his inner energy.

"There's divine energy inside the cave!" Cynthia, who had been silent until now, suddenly said to Ye Tianlong, "There must be the Father God's weapon inside. I can sense the divine energy within!"

Ye Tianlong was both surprised and delighted. He was delighted that this was finally the location of the divine sword's burial place, but surprised that so many people had already discovered this secret.

He had set out with a skeptical mindset, wanting to test it out. Now that Cynthia of the divine race had said so, it was certain that the secret cave discovered by this bandit indeed contained the weapon of the Creator Father God.

The tiger-head hook in the burly man's hand gradually turned a gleaming gold, a leaping white light appearing on its blade, constantly expanding and contracting.

His raised hand trembled, as if the tiger-head hook had suddenly become incredibly heavy, making it extremely difficult for the burly man to hold, and faint beads of sweat appeared on his face.

Inch by inch, the tiger-head hook slowly approached the layer of red light.

"The Shattering Gold and Jade Technique!" Ji Wujiu exclaimed softly, clearly surprised that this burly man knew such a martial art. Ye Tianlong couldn't help but glance at Ji Wujiu; it seemed this guy knew quite a lot.

Although he didn't know what Ji Wujiu meant by the Shattering Gold and Jade Technique, Ye Tianlong, seeing Liu Qin'er's solemn expression beside him, knew it was a formidable martial art. This gave him a new understanding of Zhang Lie's strength.

The golden tiger-head hook and the red light at the cave entrance slowly met. Strangely, the tiger-head hook didn't slash down, nor was it bounced back; instead, it sank little by little into the slowly rotating red light.

The burly man's face turned blood red; after the tiger-head hook had penetrated seven-tenths of the way, it could no longer continue. At this moment, a person leaped out from behind the Dragon Hall Duo, his long sword flashing, striking the center of the red light with lightning speed.

“Lightning Sword Flowing Light!” Liu Qin’er murmured, “The Dragon Hall family only knows how to take shortcuts.”

A flash of red light appeared and disappeared in an instant, the restriction on the cave entrance was opened, but before the cheers of the crowd could even rise, a white light flashed, and the two people standing at the cave entrance screamed and fell to the ground, bleeding profusely from a wound the size of a bowl on their chests.

Ji Wujiu exclaimed, “It’s here again! It’s it!!”

Ye Tianlong immediately understood that the terrible danger Ji Wujiu had mentioned had reappeared, and hurriedly circulated his qi to protect himself. Looking at the others, they also looked as if they were facing a great enemy, and they all drew their weapons, and the atmosphere became tense.

The white light reappeared, but this time it was the Sword Inquirer who moved. With a flick of his wrist, the world-famous Four Absolute Swords leaped out, drawing a dazzling sword light in the air.

Swish swish swish…

The Sword Inquirer swung four swords in one breath, and the space in front of the cave entrance seemed to have been torn open by these four swords, creating a broken vacuum. The sword wind surged, just enough to surround the white light.

Only then did everyone realize that the white light was actually a white fire serpent. The boiling flames around it turned the air into smoke, obscuring its true form.

Because the purity of its flames had reached an unparalleled level, it appeared to everyone as a dazzling white.

"So it's the Fire Soul Dragon!" The Swordsman sneered. Although he appeared nonchalant, he was inwardly extremely wary. His Four Absolute Swords danced before him, summoning wind and thunder to form a dense net of swords, halting the lightning-fast Fire Soul Dragon.

By now, everyone was certain that this place must contain a divine sword or some other extraordinary treasure. The Fire Soul Dragon wasn't a real creature, but rather the essence of a fire spirit, making it the nemesis of all fire magic. The fact that such a protective spirit could be erected indicated that what lay within was truly extraordinary.

In the blink of an eye, the Swordsman had already fought dozens of rounds with the Fire Soul Dragon. During their exchange, the Swordsman switched between several types of magic, from ice to water, then wind, and finally earth. The transitions between these different elemental spells were seamless and natural, truly befitting his reputation as one of the Four Absolute Swordsmen.

However, no matter what magic the Swordsman infused into his sword, he couldn't defeat the Fire Soul Dragon, not even managing to force it away from the cave entrance. Enraged,

he roared repeatedly, his sword strikes becoming even faster and more powerful. In an instant, his sword aura surged, swift as lightning, unleashing a torrent of lightning that nearly covered the entire cave entrance. Such power silenced those

who had intended to mock him. Ye Tianlong himself admitted that his martial arts skills didn't seem to have reached such a level. In terms of swordsmanship, the Swordsman's Hall, hailed as the second most powerful on the continent, truly lived up to its reputation.

Just as he was pondering, several faint whistles sounded behind him. Ye Tianlong immediately became alert, inwardly groaning that another uninvited guest had arrived. This was going to be quite a spectacle.

Sure enough, two groups of people appeared on the other side, and the addition of these dozens of people instantly made the small open space feel crowded.

The appearance of these people also greatly surprised the Dragon Hall Duo and Zhang Lie, indicating that these people were no ordinary individuals.
