Transmigrating into the world of Home with Kids: Becoming Liu Xing - Part 2, Chapter 26: About Xiao Feng

As soon as he got home, the whole family started gossiping about Xiaofeng's behavior.
Liu Mei said, "Xia Donghai, is this child too embarrassed to sleep at our house because he wets the bed?"
Old Xia was speechless: "How old is this child? Still wetting the bed!"
Xiaoxue said, "Dad, you have to find out about his situation before he came to China. Didn't his father tell you about Xiaofeng's situation? I think this child is a bit strange."
Old Xia said, "He said that Xiao Feng is a boy with personality and aspirations, and that he is very focused on his hobbies. He also said that we can understand him very easily."
Xiaoyu suddenly had a whimsical thought: "Could he have come to China to search for treasure? Perhaps there are treasures left by his ancestors in the underground garden."
Xiaoxue said, "It's entirely possible! Do you think Xiaofeng's ancestors might have been the Eight-Nation Alliance, who burned down the Old Summer Palace and buried the looted imperial treasures downstairs in our building?"
Old Xia said, both amused and exasperated, "You can let your imagination run wild when you become a screenwriter, but don't think like that now! But this kid's behavior is indeed a bit strange, it's really worrying. Should I call his dad again?"
Old Xia got up and walked towards the study. The door opened, and Xiao Feng, carrying a tent, threw it on the ground as soon as he entered. Behind him, Liu Xing, carrying his large backpack, crashed onto the tent. Ropes, hooks, military shovels, Swiss Army knives, gloves, protective gear, and other miscellaneous items rolled out of the backpack.
Liu Xing said with a worried look, "I'm exhausted, this thing is so heavy!"
"Liu Xing, don't break my things!" Xiao Feng hurriedly stepped forward and quickly packed the scattered items into his bag.
Xiaoyu exclaimed, "Wow, what a big bag!"
Liu Xing rushed to Liu Mei's side and said, "Mom, his bag is full of toys, not a single book. You always say I'm naughty, but if I carried so many toys and went to America alone, you'd be furious with me."
Liu Mei asked quietly, "Why is he back? Wasn't he supposed to be leaving?"
Liu Xing said, "He said there's an emergency pavilion tomorrow morning, and he's afraid he won't be able to get up."
As they were talking, Xiaofeng said, "Auntie, please wake me up at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Goodnight."
Liu Mei thought to herself, "Goodnight, I'm exhausted after this day."
When Liu Mei returned to the bedroom, she found Lao Xia holding the phone and frowning.
Old Xia said, "That's strange, why isn't anyone answering? Let's check again, and if there's nothing else, then let it go."
Liu Mei sighed and said, "Then I won't be able to sleep well tonight again."
Old Xia suggested, "Then how about taking a sleeping pill?"
"No, then I'll just close my eyes and not hear anything!" Liu Mei said worriedly.
Old Xia asked curiously, "What else do you need to listen to when you're trying to sleep?"
Liu Mei argued vehemently, "What if Xiao Feng isn't used to our Chinese bed and falls off the bed when he rolls over? I'm his guardian!"
Old Xia said with a laugh, "It's not that bad. Nick isn't made of glass; he won't break if he falls to the ground."
"No, I have to go check if he fell on the floor right now!" Liu Mei was an impatient person and immediately rushed to the study. To her great surprise, however, there was no one on the bed.
Liu Mei exclaimed in surprise, "Hey? Where did this child go? Did he sleepwalk out?"
Turning around, she was horrified to see a "red Spider-Man" by the wall. She was so scared that her soul almost flew out of her body. A figure resembling Spider-Man was lying on their wall in a bizarre pose, giving her an ambiguous smile.
"Ah!" Liu Mei let out a terrifying scream.
Even as Lao Xia rushed over in a panic, Liu Mei was still pointing at the person on the wall and screaming.
Old Xia shouted sternly, "Who are you? I'm calling the police if you don't answer!"
Spider-Man quickly said, "Don't be nervous, I'm Spider-Man! I'm here to rescue you from danger."
Old Xia said irritably, "I think you're here to create danger for us. Who exactly are you?"
Spider-Man strikes a pose and shouts, "I am Spider-Man, also known as Nick Fury, and also known as Little Wind."
"Using an alias again! Using another alias!" Liu Mei sighed and dragged Xiao Feng into the living room. The children, also awakened, perked up at the sight of Xiao Feng and cheered as they circled around him.
Liu Xing exclaimed enviously, "Spider-Man! Wow! That's so cool! It looks just like the real thing. You can't find one like it anywhere else in the whole country!"
Xiaoyu's eyes lit up as she said, "If I wore this outfit, I would definitely be the idol of all the little girls."
Still shaken, Liu Mei called out from the side, "Spider-Man, show your face! It's creepy to look at you like this."
Liu Xing exclaimed loudly, "Mom, Spider-Man never lets ordinary people see his true face."
Xiao Feng asked in surprise, "Auntie, are you interested in my look?"
"Of course I'm...interested," Liu Mei said softly. "How could I be interested in something that's neither human nor ghost?"
"Did you know? Spider-Man is a household name in America! My dream is to become Spider-Man!" Xiao Feng proudly showed off his appearance.
After saying that, he ran towards the door, shouting, "I'm going to save people!"
Liu Mei quickly grabbed him and said, "Xiao Feng, if you go out looking like this, there are only two possible outcomes: either you'll scare the people in the neighborhood, or you'll get arrested by the police."
Xiao Feng said dejectedly, "Auntie, you've hurt my feelings. Do you think I'll embarrass you if I go out?"
Liu Xing chimed in, "Mom, you can't even accept a 'Spider-Man,' yet you talk about keeping up with international standards."
Suddenly, Old Xia's voice came from the bedroom: "Meimei, come here for a moment."
For some reason, there seemed to be a slight unease in his voice.
As soon as Liu Mei entered the bedroom, Lao Xia frowned and said, "I just finished calling Xiao Feng's father. His father said that the boy is a Spider-Man fanatic, and not just any fanatic. In our old-fashioned terms, he's gone completely mad."
"What kind of problem is this? We've never heard of it before. I think it's just asking for a beating," Liu Mei said in surprise.
Old Xia said, "What are you talking about? If this happened in America, parents would be arrested by the police long ago if they hit their children."
Liu Mei said irritably, "What do you mean? So in America, you just let your kids do whatever they want and nobody cares?"
"No, that's not it. People think it's an illness, so his dad took him to see a psychologist, but it didn't work."
Liu Mei got even angrier when she heard this: "So if that didn't work, you just let this child take such a long flight to China? Isn't that just dumping the burden on us?"
Old Xia explained on behalf of his friend: "No, his father said that this was exactly the advice given by the psychologist, who said that changing the environment might be good for the child, so he sent him to China."
Liu Mei said indignantly, "That's really something! He should at least have given us a heads-up about this situation, let us be mentally prepared. Otherwise, what's this called? Wearing a Spider-Man costume and climbing up and down the wall—how terrifying!"
“It’s no use saying all this now. The child is already here, and his father can’t do anything about him. So he really hopes we can help him.”
Liu Mei said with difficulty, "How can we help? Do we even know what this problem is called? Do we even know what Spider-Man is all about?"
Old Xia thought for a moment and said, "So I think the first step is for us to understand what Spider-Man is all about, and establish some common ground with him. Otherwise, how can we understand him and how can we help him?"
"That's true."
Old Xia said mysteriously, "Oh, right, I must remind you of an important piece of information. His father told me that this kid often has a tendency to engage in dangerous activities. When he was in the United States, he had a history of climbing out of the window on the 18th floor."
Liu Mei said with lingering fear, "Luckily, we live on the first floor, otherwise I would have been scared to death."
Seemingly to mock her lack of vigilance, Liu Xing rushed in, shouting, "It's over! Something's happened! Xiao Feng took a rope to the balcony; he said he's going to climb to the roof from here!"
As Liu Mei ran out, she thought angrily: I'll call Xiao Feng's dad tomorrow and tell him that my son has added another glorious chapter to his history!
