"The Forbidden Custody of the Father" - Chapter 33: Maneuvering and Struggle 1

Huo Zijin had sensed that someone was following him these past few days, but before he could take any action, Huo Zicheng came to his door first.
“I thought you would never set foot in the company.” Huo Zijin looked at his younger brother, who was four years younger than him. Since his falling out with their father, they had hardly seen each other.
"Brother, release Wangyou." After learning from Mo Fantian and Mo Fanyu, Huo Zicheng's first thought was that Huo Zijin had kidnapped him.
He had assumed Wang You would escape on her own, but just as they had said, there was no trace of her. There was no other possibility than that she had been kidnapped.
Huo Zijin's face darkened, becoming somewhat gloomy.
"Zicheng, did you come here just to say this? Do you think I would do such a despicable thing!" Huo Zijin felt like he had been framed, and by his own younger brother no less!
Huo Zicheng was, after all, his younger brother, and seeing his brother's fury, he knew it had nothing to do with him.
"It's not that I don't trust you, it's just that besides you, who else would do this?" Huo Zicheng slumped weakly onto the sofa.
These past few days, I don't know how worried Mo Fantian and the others were, but he was also worried and anxious.
Huo Zijin listened to what he said and looked at his expression.
“You’ve never lost your judgment. Today you came in and immediately assumed it was me, and now you’re acting like this. Could it be… you have feelings for that little girl…” This was the only reason Huo Zijin could think of.
"Brother, what nonsense are you talking about? Wangyou is only a few years old, still a child. I'm just a little worried. Since it wasn't you, I can explain things to them." Saying this, he stood up.
Huo Zijin frowned at his strange behavior of coming and going, and he did not believe what he said.
"Wait! Tell them to remove the surveillance personnel. I, Huo Zijin, am not someone to be trifled with!" This was his warning.
He certainly wanted to replace Elton, and was even willing to use any means necessary. However, he would never resort to kidnapping. His methods were for business, not for women!
Huo Zicheng nodded, understanding that this was Huo Zijin's limit. Having gotten the answer he wanted, he didn't linger any longer.
Seeing that he was about to leave, Huo Zijin didn't say anything to stop him. He didn't want to get involved in his father's affairs. What Huo Zijin wanted was the power to control everything; nothing else was within his consideration.
The call came from inside again, and Huo Zijin knew exactly who it was.
“You don’t seem surprised at all by my arrival.” Hughes walked into his office, smiled, and sat down on his own initiative.
"Could it be that you've been followed recently?" He hadn't been in contact with Hughes since the banquet.
Hughes remained silent, but his expression was grim, making it clear to everyone that he was tacitly agreeing.
“I just saw your brother. What’s he doing here? It’s not just a rumor, you two don’t get along.” Hughes recalled the glimpse of Huo Zicheng he had just caught.
"It seems Mo Fantian's niece has been kidnapped. Zicheng suspects I did it. No matter how incompetent I am, Huo Zijin, I wouldn't lay a hand on a woman." Huo Zijin said mockingly.
He and Hughes had been working together for a long time, and he knew that JK had suffered losses at the hands of Ayton and 'Hang' several times. Therefore, it was most appropriate for the two of them to join forces.
Upon hearing this, Hughes confirmed his suspicions. Sure enough, they really did believe Wang You had been kidnapped. But that was for the best! This way, Wang You wouldn't be harmed.
Hughes's ever-changing expression caught Huo Zijin's attention, and he pondered for a moment.
"Could it be that you kidnapped her?" Huo Zijin couldn't believe it; Hughes shouldn't be such an incompetent person.
"If I said she came with me voluntarily, would you believe me?" Hughes simply let go.
Seeing Huo Zijin's surprise, Hughes smiled easily.
“Wang You wanted to escape from them, and I wanted to help her. However, I didn’t expect them to misunderstand. It’s probably for the best. I don’t know how long I can protect her. If they are ever discovered, she won’t be tortured by them anymore.” These past few days, the people from ‘Xing’ have been watching him more and more closely, so he had to make this consideration.
Huo Zijin stared at him for a long time, pondering.
"What is it about this girl that makes her so appealing to Mo Fantian and Mo Fanyu, and even you have feelings for her? Even my younger brother seems to have some unknown affection for her." He really wanted to meet her and see what it was about this seemingly innocent girl that made her so attractive.
Hughes could only give a bitter smile, unable to refute.
"You've never been moved, so naturally you don't know this feeling. You just fall in love, there's no reason needed."
Although Huo Zijin scoffed at it, he felt it was a good opportunity.
“But this is good, they’re focused all their energy on finding Mo Wangyou now. We can take this opportunity to give them a good beating.” Suddenly, she turned her gaze to Hughes. “Since she’s with you, and she’s been around them for so long, even freely entering and leaving their offices, do you think she might know a lot of secrets?”
"No!" She immediately understood his meaning. "Whether Wang You knows or not, I won't drag her into this. Dealing with them is JK and Huo Cheng's business, it has nothing to do with her!"
He would never let Wang You be in danger, not even just to get some information out of her. If Mo Fantian and the others found out now, he didn't know how they would deal with Wang You.
Huo Zijin seemed to have anticipated Hughes's refusal. They then merely discussed how to slowly erode their power. However, just as Hughes was about to leave, Huo Zijin suggested going to his mansion. His reason was that he could help Hughes hide Wang You.
Therefore, Wang You was naturally surprised to see that in addition to Hughes, Huo Zijin, whom he had met once before, had also returned today.
However, recalling Mo Fantian and the others' conversation earlier, she also felt that it made sense.
Huo Zijin certainly noticed the fleeting surprise in Wang You's eyes, but he was even more struck by her calm and composed demeanor. It was as if his presence was perfectly natural; she remained seated serenely on the sofa.
"No wonder they sent people to keep an eye on me." If it's a woman like that, he might be interested in keeping her by his side.
"Huo Zijin!" Hughes shouted, afraid that he would reveal something he had been keeping from Wang You these past few days.
Seeing that one of them was saying strange things and the other had a strange expression, Wang You pondered and considered the matter.
Watching the two go upstairs, she remained alone downstairs watching TV. As time passed, she got up and went upstairs. However, she went to the study instead.
