My mother is Qin Keqing (03)

Word Count: 12230
Chapter 3: Yadi
Mercury is originally a liquid, silvery-white heavy metal that evaporates at room temperature. The gas or mixture released from mercury vapor is highly toxic; even accidental contact with the skin can enter the body, severely damaging health. Mercury can damage the brain, causing physical exhaustion and painful death.
The naked mercury-covered female corpse before us, a beauty beyond compare, was a monster completely beyond the realm of science. She should have turned to dust, yet she was now floating before us, wreaking havoc.
The mercury tentacles were part of the mercury-covered female corpse's body, manipulating them with incredible fluidity and ease, easily piercing my body. For a moment, I only felt a tingling sensation, but this was followed by intense, excruciating pain. Bright red blood flowed from the wound, initially slowly and not much, but then it gushed out like a flood, flowing continuously in large quantities. The blood, red as roses, spread like a stream beneath my feet, and I could no longer support myself, my legs collapsing weakly onto the expensive jade slab.
My blood accidentally stained the animal hide I was holding in my right hand. The hide seemed to come alive, greedily sucking up the bright red blood, but I no longer cared.
The mercury-infused corpse could have penetrated my body and continued attacking my mother, but miraculously, it retracted its deadly tentacles. Even so, I knew how terrifying mercury poison was. Liquid mercury had already entered my body, and my mother was injured and unable to fight it.
The corpse's cold eyes finally showed a slight change. It hovered above us, its previously cold and emotionless eyes flickering slightly, looking at me with a hint of curiosity.
"Xiaoming, why? Why are you so stupid?" My mother, her face drastically changed by the poison, gripped me tightly and asked in a heart-wrenching voice.
At this moment, I knelt in front of my mother, facing the mysterious and eerie mercury-infused corpse, my body shielding her behind me. However, my mother struggled to my right and knelt down, her right hand grasping my arm and her left hand pressing hard on the wound on my chest. My mother's mysterious black gloves had been corroded away. Her once fair, slender, and beautiful hands were now a bloody mess, with some bone even showing.
"Silly girl, didn't you promise I'd protect you? A man's word is his bond."
"You're the silly one! You're the biggest fool in the world! Why didn't you run when I told you to? What were you doing, being so stubborn? Is it worth dying here with your mother?"
"There's no such thing as worth it or not, only willingness."
"Lu Xianming, you're a big fool."
"I know I'm not very capable, I always have to rely on you, Mom, but I'm willing to do anything for you."
"Xiaoming, you won't die, you absolutely won't die!"
The wound my mother pressed on her left hand didn't seem to be having much effect; blood was still flowing out in large quantities. There should have been blood everywhere, but the blood on the floor seemed to be decreasing. My mother's left hand had his blood and mine on it. And my mother, who was usually incredibly strong and hadn't shed a single tear even when my father divorced her, had large tears streaming from her beautiful and charming eyes. The sound of her sobbing rang in my increasingly blurred ears.
"Don't cry, or your beautiful eyes will lose their beauty."
I could clearly feel my life force fading away, all my strength drained away, and my consciousness beginning to blur. My voice grew weaker and weaker as I spoke to my mother. Perhaps, like those people outside, my flesh and blood would be sucked dry by the female corpse in the air.
But I still managed to raise my left hand, using the last bit of strength in my body, and reached out to my mother's cheek, gently wiping away her heartbreaking tears. The tears wet my fingers, piercing my heart as well. I could no longer protect the woman I loved most.
When my hand was about to give way and fall, my mother's right hand grabbed my wrist, her soft, smooth, and warm cheek pressed against my palm. Although my mother's skin had turned green from the poison, I still felt an extraordinary fondness for her. My
mother's body pressed against my back, my limp upper body leaning against her chest. Her pair of 36g breasts pressed against me with incredible elasticity, but I was unable to enjoy them.
"Xiaoming, you're the most obedient to your mother. I command you not to die. You must hold on."
"Xuanxuan, there's something I've been afraid to tell you. Maybe if I don't say it now, I'll never have the chance again."
"No, let's talk about it after we leave here."
"Mom, I love you."
"I love you too, Xiaoming."
"Xuanxuan, it's a man's love for a woman. I want to marry you."
"I know, I know. Once we get out of here, I'll agree to be your wife and give you my body. Xiaoming, haven't you always wanted me to fuck you? You must hold on. Once we get out, I'll let my big cock fuck you hard. You'll never secretly take my underwear to masturbate again, and you'll never suppress your fantasies again. My body has always been prepared for you, and I haven't let any other man touch it. As long as you get better, everything I have will belong to you."
Hearing my mother's bold and unconventional words, I would have been incredibly happy and excited in the past, probably unable to sleep all night. And it turns out my mother knew all the bad things I had done to her, she knew my feelings, but Xuanxuan was just pretending not to know. Yes, living with my mother, how could she not notice my strange behavior?
Perhaps it was the first time I'd heard my mother's raw, lewd words, but my previously limp body suddenly sprang to life, my penis erect, forming a large tent. Young people are powerful; even on the verge of death, I'd become hard after just a few provocative words from my mother.
Excessive blood loss and the influx of mercury into my body made me increasingly weak, my consciousness fading. If my mother hadn't kept talking to me, I might not have been able to keep my exhausted eyes closed.
Floating in the air was a female corpse, like a demoness, her eyes watching us, but seemingly lost in some memory, not killing without explanation as she had before.
"Fairy, if you just let my mother go, I'll grant you anything," I pleaded weakly, my eyes still weary, as I looked at the female corpse in the sky.
I knew I was dying; clinging to my last hope, I hoped the female corpse would spare my mother, Wu Wenxuan.
"Love, are you willing to offer your soul, to be eternally bound to me?"
"Yes, as long as you spare Xuanxuan."
Hearing the vague but hopeful condition, I knew I could die but couldn't bear to see my mother die. As for my soul, I never even considered it. I agreed without hesitation. By this point, my voice was growing weaker, and I spoke very slowly.
"No, Xiaoming, you can't do this! Daji, if you don't appear, we'll all perish together!" The beautiful woman, Wu Wenxuan, shouted at the air like a madwoman.
With Wu Wenxuan's threatening words, the jade pendant hidden in her bra emitted a dazzling green light. Then, directly opposite the female corpse, another woman floated—a woman so alluring that a man would be willing to die for her at first glance. She wore a flowing, snow-white, moon-like dress. In the deathly still underground palace, her appearance seemed to change everything.
Daji is not the seductive and alluring nine-tailed fox spirit from the Investiture of the Gods, the epitome of a femme fatale. She is not a mythical figure; how could she possibly exist in real life? However, I completely believe that such a charming woman truly exists in the world, despite my mother calling her Daji.
The woman floating in the air was Daji, her snow-white dress billowing, her ribbons dancing in the air. Though her clothes were quite revealing, her curvaceous figure remained perfect, the kind of body every man fantasizes about. At first glance, she seemed like a celestial being descended to earth. Her
long, straight, jet-black hair, reaching her thighs, was draped behind her head without any adornment, its flowing blackness captivating. Her face, though shrouded in mist, exuded a powerful aura—a bewitching, seductive beauty capable of bewitching all, a femme fatale. A single smile from her would make one willing to do anything.
My mother's allure paled in comparison to Daji's; perhaps my mother's dramatic change in demeanor was due to Daji.
The two women stared at each other for a few seconds, then began to converse, though in a language we couldn't understand.
"Wu Wenxuan, leave quickly, only you are allowed!
" "No, Xiaoming must leave too!"
"Wu Wenxuan, hurry up and leave!" Hearing my mother finally say she could leave, I excitedly roared. Large mouthfuls of blood flowed from my mouth as I struggled desperately, pushing my mother away, wanting her to seize this opportunity to leave. Even if my mother died, I would die in peace if she lived.
"We live together, we die together!"
My mother showed her stubborn side. No matter how I pushed her away, she wouldn't leave, instead holding me tightly, burying my head in her ample breasts. Smelling her milky scent, feeling her large, soft breasts, I was captivated and reluctant to leave. This was the captivation of life; I didn't want to die like this, and I especially didn't want my mother to die. My desire to live was incredibly strong.
Hearing my mother's resolute words against fleeing, the mysterious Daji looked at Wu Wenxuan solemnly.
"I deeply admire Wu Wenxuan's unwavering resolve. My power is less than one ten-thousandth of hers; I am powerless to help."
"Daji, it's not your fault."
The mercury-infused corpse spoke a few more awkward words to Daji, as if they had reached some kind of tacit understanding. Daji flew far away from here. Both Daji and the mercury-infused corpse seemed to be very wary of the mysterious white jade coffin about twenty meters above my head, which floated at the highest point without moving.
My mother originally wanted to find Daji and the female corpse, but the corpse was too powerful. Daji didn't even have the courage to make a move and flew to the side to watch. This made Wu Wenxuan lose her last bit of hope.
The eerie and ghostly mercury-infused corpse stretched out its tentacles, wrapped them around my weakened mother, and threw her onto the distant treasure mountain with a forceful shake.
"You are interesting, very interesting. The Heavenly Book and you both belong to me," the female corpse said with interest as she floated above me as I lay dying, observing me closely. The voice was no longer the unpleasant metallic sound from before; instead, it carried the arrogant tone of a haughty woman, and the voice returned to a normal female voice.
My mother was thrown aside, and I naturally fell into a pool of blood, while the female corpse eerily floated above me, violently close to me.
The mercury-staining corpse hesitated for a moment, then bit her silvery-white index finger, from which a drop of bright red blood dripped. The blood landed precisely on my forehead, then strangely seeped into my skin and disappeared.
Having almost bled to death, after receiving a drop of blood, I felt my body return to normal. The hole in my chest even revealed damaged internal organs, and there was still almost no blood inside me—scientifically, it was impossible to survive. Yet, I felt I could easily stand up.
The word "mummy" suddenly flashed through my mind.
I wanted to stand up to save my mother, but my body wouldn't move. The female corpse that had previously appeared as silver-white was now, in my eyes, a stunningly beautiful naked woman. She was completely naked, with an alluring pair of F-cup breasts, firm, white, and enormous like watermelons, the nipples and areolas pink and pretty . She had
a slender waist, straight legs, and the small tuft of pubic hair was no longer silver-white, but a glossy black.
Her eyes weren't large, but they were almond-shaped, with long, narrow palpebral fissures that curved outwards. The iris and sclera were perfectly proportioned, and her eyes were exceptionally beautiful, possessing a delicate, oriental charm. Her single eyelids, combined with her willow-leaf eyebrows, made her eyes the most striking feature of her face. The deep gaze in her eyes suggested a woman with a story, a story to tell. She had red lips, snow-white skin, and exquisitely beautiful features.
This female corpse, who had started her killing spree, was completely beyond my comprehension; her words and actions in the next moment were utterly unexpected.
"Eat if you want to save your mother," the female corpse threatened, sitting her round, large buttocks on my head.
This mercury-infused female corpse's transformation was too rapid. One second she was fighting to the death, and now she's exposing her mysterious vulva, sitting boldly on my head, accurately positioning it towards my mouth.
The female corpse's vulva wasn't plump, thick, or even large; it was flat like a thin line between her legs. Dark pubic hair grew above the vulva, while the vulva itself was completely hairless, clearly distinct. The few tufts of pubic hair were sparse but jet black and glossy, neatly and regularly distributed. Tiny buds protruded from the vulva, making it difficult to find the vaginal entrance without careful searching.
"To be forced to lick a vulva by a corpse thousands of years old—this will definitely become a laughingstock if word gets out. This is too humiliating," I could only mentally complain in the face of the female corpse's domineering actions. This female corpse must have held a very high position in life; her movements were familiar and fluid. She must have used this domineering method thousands of years ago.
My body was held captive by the female corpse, unable to move. For my mother, Wu Wenxuan, I had no choice but to sacrifice my body.
To save my mother, I had to restrain myself, grabbing the corpse's thighs and opening my mouth to kiss her vulva. Unexpectedly, the corpse's thighs were smooth, supple, and moist, and her groin emitted a strange fragrance, completely beyond my expectations. And I am a perfectly normal man, without any necrophilia.
"Harder… umm… suck harder…"
But I was incredibly weak; my penis was hard and pressed against my pants.
Unconsciously, I sucked hard on her fragrant vulva, my tongue licking the flesh, my teeth scraping my lips as I kissed it, my tongue prying open the small slit and pushing in forcefully. My hands couldn't help but caress her thighs. Unexpectedly, her vulva quickly oozed vaginal fluid, making the corpse wet with saliva and vaginal fluid.
"Mmm...not bad...little slave...make me feel good...mmm...a big reward awaits.
" "
Shut up!"
The domineering female corpse liked to give orders, so I had no choice but to stop. The female corpse gracefully floated and turned, then gently sat down between my legs. My clothes had already been torn to shreds by the excited female corpse. My penis was erect and pointing skyward. The female corpse sat down very precisely on the head of my penis, and my penis was swallowed by her vagina without any hesitation.
The female corpse didn't even ask for my opinion before quickly swallowing my penis with her vagina. This feeling was indescribable, a mixture of helplessness, discomfort, and excitement. My favorite mother was watching not far away, and I felt like I had done something wrong to her. It was too embarrassing to be pushed around by a corpse. However, her vagina was particularly tight and hot, and it kept writhing, making me feel very comfortable and excited. If I hadn't been determined enough to be swallowed, I might have ejaculated.
The female corpse swallowed my penis with her vagina very slowly, inch by inch. And a penis that was seventeen or eighteen centimeters long was already quite good. Instead of stopping to familiarize herself with it and rest, she swallowed it completely in one go.
"Mmm... Ohhh... Glug..."
Both the female corpse and I made sounds of pleasure. The female corpse's body could still feel like a woman's, and her vagina was really unusually strange, too tight and hot like magma, completely different from the previous girlfriends I had. Could this be the female corpse's special feature? After our reproductive organs were fully joined, the female corpse stroked my eight-pack abs with both hands, and then slowly began to swallow and spit.
"My lord...can I leave first?"
"Hmm...it depends on your performance..."
"I will...ah...I will try my best...as long as you keep your promise.
" "Your heart...hmm...like my son...he is also devoted...oh oh..."
"Your son...like you too...ah ah..."
"My son is too infatuated...hmm...how can mother and son...violate propriety...and lose...hmm ah...such a great opportunity...even his life..."
"Do you regret it?"
"Hmm...I regret it...ah ah...hahahaha...I regret it terribly."
"Your vagina is so tight...it feels so good inside...oh oh...a beauty like you...it's normal for your son to like you...he wants to penetrate you too, right?"
"I...will also enjoy it...hmm...consider it my reward...ah ah...a reward for the dead."
"Why?"
"The Heavenly Book is inside you... um... you must die... only then can I... seize the Heavenly Book..."
The female corpse lay on my abdomen with both hands, bent over, raised her buttocks, and moved back and forth at an increased speed. Her extremely tight vagina constantly swallowed and released my large penis. Each time my penis entered her flesh, it felt like there was an unusually strong suction force, drawing out my semen. After enjoying this for a few minutes, the female corpse began to move faster and faster, not giving me any chance to turn over and overpower her.
I wanted to escape my body but couldn't control it, and a strong sense of crisis came over me. If I really ejaculated, not only my semen but also my own flesh and blood would enter the female corpse, and I would die, leaving only bones.
The female corpse knew the state of her vagina, and her movements were very large, with her buttocks swaying up and down constantly, making loud slapping sounds. Her vagina tightly gripped my penis, being violently manipulated, and the urge to ejaculate came wave after wave, which I desperately tried to hold back.
"Little slave...mmm...to have been favored by me...ah...it is your good fortune...you can die without regret...ah...I'm coming...mmm...ah...ah..."
The female corpse climaxed amidst her moans, her vagina transforming into a terrifying little mouth, forcefully gripping and sucking my penis. As her vaginal fluids drenched my glans, I could no longer hold back.
"You stinking woman...perverted corpse...ah...why didn't you die peacefully...you had to become a corpse...mmm...you'll bring trouble upon yourself...ah...I'm coming..."
I knew that once I released my pent-up desire, my life would be over, and given her ruthlessness, she would definitely not let my mother go. So, I finally opened my mouth and cursed without restraint. I didn't know many swear words, but I tried my best. Just before ejaculating, I broke free from the invisible restraints imposed by the female corpse, grabbed her breasts, and began to thrust my large penis rapidly and actively, repeatedly pounding up and down against her vagina. Since I was going to die anyway, I might as well fight to the death.
The scalding hot vagina of the female corpse, combined with its immense suction, threatened to bite off my penis if I didn't ejaculate. Helpless, my penis trembled, and an incredibly pleasurable stream of semen shot into the corpse's flesh. The thought of having sex with a corpse was truly absurd.
Immediately after her orgasm, the mercury-infused female corpse unleashed her bizarre magic. Starting from the point of our genitals' union, my body withered at a visible rate. I could see my flesh disappearing; the skin on my bare arms, abdomen, and thighs shrank, making me appear decades older in an instant. Perhaps in the next few seconds, I would become a pile of bones like Yulina Kun and the others. I
was destined to die, but suddenly my body emitted a dazzling white light. My penis, inserted into the female corpse's vagina, miraculously began to suckle. My body was no longer under my control; instead, it was forcefully consuming the female corpse.
The mercury-infused female corpse began to shrivel, her fair skin rapidly fading back to silvery-white. Her alluring features vanished, leaving her faceless. Her aura weakened, and all of this happened so suddenly and eerily; I had never imagined it would happen.
The female corpse stared at me with a look of deep apprehension, a truly remarkable expression. Then, she swiftly detached herself from me, remaining steadily floating in the air, her form restored to that of when she emerged from the mercury pool.
Having thoroughly enraged the monstrous mercury-infused female corpse, I could only seize this slim chance. With the agility of Liu Xiang hurdling, I ran to my injured mother, Wu Wenxuan, and scooped her up in my arms, naked. The gaping hole in my chest, revealing her internal organs, was no longer a concern. The
white jade coffin that had been following me no longer floated over.
"You will all die!" the female corpse screamed in a deafeningly shrill voice. Suddenly, countless tentacles and claws extended from its body. Seeing this terrifying scene, it realized it had only been toying with us. The next moment, those countless claws instantly reached for my mother and me.
"Offending this Emperor, die," a woman's voice, filled with boundless pressure, suddenly spoke slowly and softly. The voice was not loud, not many words, and as beautiful as heavenly music, yet it caused the entire underground palace to tremble. It crushed everything like the king of the underground palace.
With just these words, my mother and I coughed up mouthfuls of blood again, collapsing weakly, but still holding my mother tightly. The mercury-infused female corpse fell directly to the floor, its cold eyes filled with fear and terror, trembling like a mouse encountering its natural enemy, a snake. The mysterious Daji, pale and terrified, looked at the coffin and quickly entered Wu Wenxuan's body and disappeared.
My hope of escaping the nine-layered underground palace with my mother was completely shattered. The white jade and purple-gold coffin, which had been silent until now, suddenly moved. To be precise, the woman inside the coffin, suspected to be Emperor Qin Sanshi, moved.
The woman inside the coffin, shrouded in mystery, had actually injured the seemingly invincible mercury-infused female corpse with just a single sentence. The attack was clearly targeted at the corpse; otherwise, my mother and I would have been dead long ago.
It turned out that the woman in the white jade coffin was the true mastermind of the underground palace. The woman inside the white jade coffin still
hadn't opened her eyes, yet a single sentence had severely injured everyone present. The mercury-infused female corpse, whom
we initially thought was the boss and invincible in our eyes, was merely a minor character before the true owner of the tomb.
Although the coffin had been lowered, my mother and I instinctively dared not look at the woman inside. A single glance was enough to kill us both. We both lowered our heads, the terrifying pressure emanating from her causing our bodies to tremble uncontrollably.
"Ya Di, forgive me," the mercury-infused female corpse said, kneeling with utmost respect and humility, her head bowed to the white jade plate, her voice trembling. Just moments before, she had been as domineering as a queen, but before the white jade coffin in the air, she was as insignificant as an insect.
"You plotted to steal my Heavenly Book, disturbing my peaceful rest. You are sentenced to death!"
"No, no, Your Majesty, I am... ahh..."
The female corpse, sentenced to death, raised her head and spoke loudly, intending to reveal her identity, but it was too late. The white jade coffin instantly smashed down on the mercury-covered female corpse kneeling on the jade slab.
Screams echoed through the nine-story underground palace, piled high with treasures. The powerful mercury-covered female corpse's body shattered, eventually turning into mercury and returning to the silvery-white mercury pool. The powerful female corpse tried to fight back, but she couldn't withstand even a single blow and was crushed under the white jade coffin.
"Xuanxuan, you're the only one I love." Perhaps because the female corpse was completely dead, the drop of blood that had saved me earlier lost its effect. All my strength dissipated, my blood was almost gone, and my breathing was weak and barely audible. I collapsed onto the floor and weakly spoke to my mother beside me.
The terrifying white jade coffin floated silently above our heads.
"Xiaoming, Mom really regrets not giving myself to you."
Wu Wenxuan pulled open her upper garment with both hands, taking out two huge breasts from her black lace bra. She didn't care about any shame and put her nipples into my mouth. Although my consciousness was blurred, I instinctively opened my mouth and took in the soft, fragrant, bright red nipple. Wu Wenxuan was forty-seven years old, but her breasts were firm, pink, and white. Such breasts were a miracle of humanity.
Tears and blood were flowing from Wu Wenxuan's eyes. Perhaps it was because she was filled with regret and complicated emotions from recalling the past. But at this moment, she just held her son's head tightly with both hands, letting him suckle at her nipple, just like she used to breastfeed him.
I instinctively suckled at my mother's sweet nipple, even though there was no milk. This scene was one I had fantasized about countless times, but my life was about to end there. I completely lost consciousness inside my mother's enormous breasts.
Wu Wenxuan, who was about to collapse, tightly embraced her son's head, pressing it against her surging breasts.
At that moment, my greatest concern was for my mother, Wu Wenxuan. I so desperately didn't want her to die; if I could, I would give my life for hers. But the powerful and terrifying Ya Di inside the coffin ignored me. And all of this was because I lacked power. If I were strong enough, none of this would have happened. This was the first time I had ever craved power.
"Power, I can give you," suddenly another unfamiliar, magnetic female voice spoke. I was absolutely certain this voice wasn't from the woman inside the white jade coffin. This world was truly insane; the scientific evidence only confused me more. Where did this woman come from?
"Who are you?"
"Tian Shu Yan Ruyu."
"No matter who you are, can you let me and my mother live?"
"Tian Shu chose you, so you are destined to be the next Immortal Emperor."
After saying this, Tian Shu stopped talking. Is this woman sick? If she's sick, she should take medicine. And my last words were as my body completely stopped beating. I was really dead. What I just saw was probably just an illusion.
"No, no, Xiaoming, you won't leave your mother alone. Didn't you want to marry your mother? Your mother agrees to marry you. Your mother will agree to anything you want, as long as you wake up!" Like a wild animal that has lost its child, Wu Wenxuan hugged her son and cried out in anguish. The
white jade coffin did not speak again, as if it disdained to speak to a mortal like Wu Wenxuan.
Inside the nine-layered underground palace, an unbelievable scene unfolded. The body of Lu Xianming, already dead, suddenly emitted a milky-white light. Initially, only his body emitted this light, but it quickly illuminated the entire nine-layered palace, then expanded outwards until it pierced through the earth and soared into the sky.
Lu Xianming's body transformed into a black hole that devoured everything. Wu Wenxuan, who was closest, was easily sucked into the corpse, followed by everything around it. The nine-layered palace transformed into a giant, crystal-clear pagoda, struggling desperately to escape. Unfortunately, the pagoda shrank smaller and smaller until it was finally pulled into the black hole as well.
The white jade coffin suspended in the air was the last to hold out. It struggled desperately, even trying to break free, but the white light transformed into threads that wrapped around it. No matter how much it struggled, it was futile. The dazzling white light layered around the white jade coffin, until finally, the coffin was encased in a cocoon of light, and then, unwillingly, pulled into the black hole.
The Heavenly Book Beast Skin, which everyone coveted, had vanished from Lu Xianming's right hand; it was no longer in his possession.
"No... I am not reconciled!" the woman inside the coffin cried out in final despair, but it couldn't stop its fate.
As the intense white light continued to emanate, its dazzling brilliance pierced the ancient tomb and soared into the sky. This strange phenomenon attracted much attention. Incredibly, the nine-layered underground palace had disappeared, along with the corpse emitting the white light.
That very night, officials and relevant personnel came to investigate, but found nothing.
It wasn't until many days later that friends and family discovered that Wu Wenxuan and her son, Lu Xianming, had disappeared. And it seemed that many more were disappearing every day at the entrance to the mainland.
In the 27th year of the Zhengde reign of the 39th Qin Dynasty in the Eastern Lands, within the Lu family estate in Renhe County, Hangzhou Prefecture
, Jiangnan, Lu Xianming faced the undeniable fact that he had become one of countless transmigrators. Despite being killed by the mercury-infused female corpse, his soul had mysteriously transmigrated. Unfortunately, he didn't go to some prehistoric, otherworldly realm to level up, fight monsters, or conquer the world, nor did he become emperor or prince in any Chinese dynasty to dominate the entire planet. Instead, he returned to his original home with his mother, Hangzhou, Zhejiang. However, this time it wasn't the modern-day Celestial Empire.
Instead, he had arrived in the Eastern Lands of the Great Qin Dynasty, a historically nonexistent empire that had lasted for over a thousand years, now in the reign of the 39th Qin Emperor, Zhengde. This completely bewildered this history graduate student. However, judging from various historical records, the current social structure resembled that of the mid-Ming Dynasty, though with many improvements.
And miraculously, he was still called Lu Xianming. It seemed he was lucky enough to be born into a wealthy and noble family, and thanks to his current mother, Qin Keqing, he lived a life of comfort and ease.
Looking up at the cloudless blue sky, the sun's rays poured down relentlessly, making me drowsy. The air was filled with the fragrance of blooming flowers at my feet, while the noisy chirping of cicadas under the willows was both irritating and disruptive. The rockery was beautifully arranged with stones and green grass, and winding, verdant vines climbed the square tea trellises.
In the back garden, there was a small pond with an octagonal, antique-style pavilion in the center, the scent of sandalwood filling the air. Occasionally, a gentle breeze would bring a touch of coolness. I sat comfortably in the pavilion, engrossed in a book, occasionally glancing up at the garden in full bloom and a bamboo house standing in the distance.
In his heart, he thought to himself that he was no match for Pan An in looks, no as brave as Zhang Fei, far inferior to Zhao Gao and Qin Hui in flattery, no as clever as Zhuge Liang, not to mention he had no royal blood. Compared to those ambitious, talented, handsome, and dashing transmigrators waiting to establish their careers, pacify the world, unify the globe, exude an aura of kingship, and be addressed as "Lord" upon kowtow, he was completely inferior. He was a flawed product with no ambition whatsoever.
However, transmigrators do have their advantages. Fortunately, the bizarre book only imprinted a section called "Self-Cultivation" into his mind, and then remained silent for five years.
The four key points of self-cultivation are: eliminating lust, severing affection, valuing wealth, and being cautious in conduct. The crucial key to self-cultivation is to achieve enlightenment and see one's true nature. The initial step in self-cultivation is to extinguish all emotional ties and sweep away all distracting thoughts.
The second step is to construct and build the fundamental essence of the human body. This is the foundation of cultivating the Golden Elixir. It involves not only clearly understanding the visible and observable essence, energy, and spirit, but more importantly, it requires moving from the surface to the core, firmly grasping the flow of essence, energy, and spirit that is not visible to the naked eye, ultimately reaching a state where one can observe one's own body.
The perfect body described in the Self-Cultivation Chapter is also called the "Complete True Body." The Complete True Body refers to the complete essence, energy, and spirit—a perfect, flawless, and undamaged primordial body. The process is simply about preserving, consolidating, and replenishing essence.
It's been five years since I transmigrated to the Qin Dynasty. In those five years, I've never stopped cultivating. The flow of essence, energy, and spirit within my body no longer needs my prompting; it operates on its own. A warm current flows through my body, making me feel refreshed and immune to all illnesses. Foundation building is like laying the foundation for a house; the stronger the foundation, the greater the potential for growth. The consciousness inscribed in the Heavenly Book requires me to cultivate to the Full True Body stage before unlocking the second chapter of cultivation techniques.
"Do not worry about others not knowing you; worry about not knowing others." I'm reading the Doctrine of the Mean from the Four Books with great interest. This world is truly magical. My family's library contains many history books. It covers everything from Qin Shi Huang's ascension to the throne, establishing an unprecedentedly powerful centralized feudal empire. Originally, the Qin Dynasty ended with Qin Er Shi (Hu Hai), who seized power and established the Han Dynasty. But here, a shocking reversal occurs.
Historical records state that Qin San Shi Ying (the third emperor of Qin) suddenly seemed possessed by a god, radiating an aura of dominance. Heroes and warriors from all walks of life kowtowed and knelt before him, calling him their lord. He was revered as Qin Chengzu Ying (the
infant emperor of Qin Chengzu). With overwhelming force, he swept through the armies of Liu Bang, Xiang Yu, and other powerful figures, ultimately pacifying the Central Plains and even leading expeditions against foreign tribes, transforming Qin into a powerful and invincible empire once again. According to the current 39 emperors of the Qin Dynasty, more than a thousand years have passed since Qin Shi Huang unified the seven kingdoms. During this millennium, the Qin Dynasty experienced countless upheavals, caused by natural disasters, foreign invasions, or human calamities, yet miraculously weathered them all unscathed. This vast empire remained under the rule of the Qin family.
However, numerous changes, large and small, occurred. For example, in the last hundred years, the monarch and the scholar-officials jointly ruled the empire. The saying "the scholar-officials are exempt from punishment" was not merely empty words; they seemed to possess a get-out-of-jail-free card. In the game of power, they were at most exiled or demoted; the death penalty seemed to be completely foreign to the scholar-officials, the gathering of talented individuals. This is absolutely a paradise for scholars, because once your name is called by the Emperor, congratulations! You've become a respected and powerful scholar-official, someone who won't be killed.
"A man who doesn't go to the Emperor's court is no true man"—this is the prevailing opinion in the Qin Dynasty. Because of this saying, countless good men have flocked to this path of success.
It's truly a haven for scholars. Passing the county-level examination (秀才) grants exemption from kneeling before officials and from corvée labor and exorbitant taxes. Passing the provincial-level examination (举人) grants you a foot in the ruling class, making you a local gentry with the potential to become an official. Passing the metropolitan-level examination (进士) brings honor to your ancestors, making you a high-ranking official in the empire.
The Qin Dynasty's imperial examination system consisted of six levels: county, prefectural, provincial, metropolitan, and palace examinations. Those who passed became the elite, and this allure attracted countless students to study diligently for years to achieve fame and fortune. This system has been perfected in the last hundred years, giving even those from humble backgrounds a chance to change their destiny.
During the Zhou Dynasty, official positions were held by nobles through a hereditary system. The Qin Dynasty implemented a recommendation system and a conscription system, but through struggle, it evolved into the Nine-Rank System. Nine hundred years ago, the great Confucian scholar Sui Chancellor and Emperor Wenzu of Qin jointly promoted the imperial examination system, giving opportunities to the lower classes of the empire and effectively consolidating rule, but also purging a large number of vested interests. The
current high status of scholar-officials is largely thanks to Yun Qing, the so-called "God of War" from over a hundred years ago. Yun Qing was born into a family of military generals. At that time, civil and military officials were of equal status, and in fact, military generals were even more important in repelling foreign tribes and expanding territory. Yun Qing was a military genius who rose from a small battle to become a grand commander. However, he was then forced to wear the yellow robe by his subordinates, declaring himself emperor in the army and fighting all the way to the capital.
Despite the imminent collapse of the Qin Dynasty, a series of seemingly unremarkable princes emerged—the future 36th Emperor of Qin. He organized the garrison, relying on the city's strong defenses and superior weaponry, to hold their ground while simultaneously summoning troops from across the land
to defend the capital. In this battle, the princes displayed unparalleled military talent, ultimately killing the rebel leader Yun Qing. After ascending the throne, the 36th Emperor vehemently suppressed the status of military generals, even proclaiming a policy of shared governance between the emperor and scholar-officials. Through the consistent implementation of this policy by several generations of Qin emperors, scholars became the most fortunate people of the era.
Reading history always puzzles me. Every time the Qin Dynasty teetered on the brink of collapse, a wise and capable ruler would emerge from among the princes and grandsons, capable of rescuing the nation from ruin. This coincidence occurred repeatedly throughout history.
One coincidence is one thing, but repeated coincidences are highly unusual.
In the wicked feudal society, the scholar was ranked first among the scholars, farmers, artisans, and merchants. And because of the constant need to kneel, I had to participate in the imperial examinations. A postgraduate degree was perhaps equivalent to a county-level scholar here. Actually, I didn't like fighting and killing; I was a refined person, and being a scholar would have been quite good.
Moreover, the Lu family would definitely want me to achieve official rank, because my father, Lu Zhengdong, whom I had never met, was a third-place scholar (探花), a remarkable man who had been away studying for many years. And my grandfather, Lu Xinyuan, whom I had also never met, was a second-place scholar (榜眼), currently a Hanlin Academy Reader, an extremely noble and promising candidate for prime minister.
Born into such a family, not studying was impossible. All my elders were academic geniuses, achieving the top three among thousands of scholars who had studied diligently for decades—that required immense learning.
Naturally, the Lu family tradition was to pass down the family tradition of farming and scholarship. The hierarchy of scholars, farmers, artisans, and merchants had been the rule for thousands of years. People needed food to survive, so the importance of farmers was emphasized, but they were also the most impoverished and miserable group at the bottom of society. Ostensibly, the Lu family upholds the tradition of combining farming and scholarship, with only a few plots of land used to support education. However, in reality, the Lu family owns several properties within Hangzhou.
The Lu family mansion occupies a vast area, located in the prestigious Renhe County of Hangzhou, near the county government office. Perhaps to maintain their reputation among scholars, it wasn't overly extravagant, but the environment was exceptionally elegant and refined. Stepping into the inner courtyard felt like entering a world of flowers. Maintaining the Lu family's wealth couldn't rely solely on those few plots of land.
Perhaps it was a benefit of my cultivation, but I suddenly possessed a photographic memory. Although the scriptures lacked punctuation, and I was accustomed to sentences with various punctuation marks, I initially found it difficult to adjust. However, calmly sitting in the elegant and tranquil back garden, slowly savoring each word of the traditional characters, was a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
But this wasn't my ultimate goal; everything I possessed could be discarded on the path to power. My focused study of the texts and their meanings actually accelerated my cultivation, and this effect made me even more respectful of Confucianism. This world had far exceeded my imagination; anything was possible.
I had been feeling restless and stuck in my cultivation, but immersing myself in the wisdom of the great sages and virtuous men of the past brought me peace and comfort, as if every cell in my body was breathing.
"Young Master, it's getting dark," a childish voice suddenly whispered in my ear.
I looked away from the book I was copying and towards Lu Wuyong, the servant boy and page who had somehow appeared beside me. Lu Wuyong was the son of Lu Wuxie, the steward of the Lu family in Hangzhou. He was several years older than me, taller and somewhat thin than his peers, with a youthful face and bright, intelligent eyes. Dressed in a blue cloth robe, he stood respectfully beside me, already carrying a lit lantern even though it wasn't dark yet.
"How did you get here so quickly?" I asked softly, closing my book.
"Young Master, you're so engrossed in your studies, of course time flies."
"Let's go."
"Madam has summoned us several times, but I dared not disturb your studies, so..."
"Lu Wuyong, if this happens again, you'll be sent to the estate."
At five years old, I was small and chubby, my hair neatly combed, wearing what was no longer open-crotch pants—a cute little boy. Standing next to Wuyong, I was much shorter, but my voice, though childish, was serious and earnest. Lu Wuyong knelt on the bluestone slab.
"No, no, Young Master, I'll never dare again!" "Don't
do it again."
"Thank you, thank you, Young Master."
Lu Wuyong was an extremely clever servant, young yet capable, though often a bit too self-righteous. In the Qin Dynasty, filial piety was paramount; the death of one's parents required a three-year mourning period, during which one was forbidden from taking the imperial examinations, serving as an official, or engaging in productive labor. The ancients understood that a filial person was also of high moral character. As someone striving to become a scholar-official—a get-out-of-jail-free card—how could he allow himself to be tainted? Reputation was crucial in this social hierarchy, and occasionally, those in high positions would try to boost their reputation
. However, it wasn't solely out of filial piety. Currently, his only elder at home was his mother, Qin Keqing. The thought of his mother—a virtuous, gentle, and peaceful woman—warmed his heart, but he immediately suppressed it with his cultivation.
The Lu family was originally tenant farmers five generations ago. However, they were fortunate to live in a prosperous era that vigorously promoted education, fairness, and strictly implemented the imperial examination system. Their great-grandfather, through years of diligent study, passed the provincial
examination (举人), though the hardships he endured are unknown. This marked the beginning of the Lu family's scholarly tradition, with descendants achieving the highest rank (进士) after their great-grandfather. My grandfather, the eldest son, seemed particularly promising, achieving second place in the palace examination (殿试). He is now one of the most sought-after candidates for prime minister, holding the position of Hanlin Academy Lecturer—a prestigious but not high-ranking post. His reputation in literary circles is also extremely high.
My father, whom I've never met, was also a true academic prodigy. He achieved third place in the imperial examination at nearly twenty years old. Compared to those four- or five-year-olds with white hair still considered students, he was already a brilliant and talented figure. It seems the house my mother and I live in now was built by my father.
P.S.: Perhaps I've disappointed you all, but my intention was to write a story about talented scholars, beautiful women, demons, foxes, and ghosts. Tomb raiding was just a starting point. If you like it, I'll try to incorporate some elements. I generally write according to my own wishes. Initially, seeing how popular tomb raiding stories were, I was slightly tempted but then I overturned my original idea and decided to write a tomb raiding fantasy instead. However, I know my own limitations and won't join that trend. Recent rating record for this post: Chrysanthemum is easy to care for, +12 gold coins. Reposting and sharing, a red envelope is offered!
