The Unofficial Biography of Mu Guiying, the Female Generals of the Yang Family (Episodes 1-3)

Opening Remarks: After the An Lushan Rebellion, the fortunes of the once-prosperous Tang Dynasty took a sharp
turn
for the worse. The separatism of regional military governors became increasingly severe, with each vying for territory. The imperial court was powerless to control them, and the central government gradually withered away. After the Huang Chao Rebellion, a desolate scene emerged where "as far as the eye could see, there was no smoke of fire." Powerful regional military governors were successively granted the title of king, becoming de facto
independent kingdoms.

After the fall of the Tang Dynasty, various regional warlords established their own independent regimes, plunging China into more than seventy years of regime changes and
continuous warfare. The Later Liang, Later Tang, Later Jin, Later Han, and Later Zhou dynasties successively rose to power, a period known in history as the Five Dynasties. During this time
, there were also more than a dozen smaller regimes, including the Former Shu, Later Shu, Wu, Southern Tang, Wuyue, Jingnan, Chu, Southern Han, Nanping, Northern Han, Dingnan Army, and Jinghai
Army , collectively referred to in history as the Ten Kingdoms. It was not until Emperor Taizu of Song, Zhao Kuangyin, staged the Chenqiao Mutiny, donned the yellow robe,
usurped the Later Zhou throne, and established the Northern Song Dynasty, that the Central Plains entered a rare period of rest and development after he and his brother, Emperor Taizong of Song, Zhao Guangyi, successively destroyed the Ten Kingdoms
.

During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, due to years of warfare in the Central Plains, the Khitan in the north seized the opportunity to develop and grow stronger. Shi Jingtang
of the Later Jin dynasty, in his quest to become emperor, ceded the Sixteen Prefectures of Yan and Yun to the
Khitan, shamelessly declaring himself a "puppet emperor," further elevating the Khitan's power. Later, relations between the Liao and Jin dynasties soured, and Emperor Taizong of Liao, Yelü Deguang, led his army south, destroyed the Later Jin, and proclaimed himself emperor in Kaifeng, changing the dynasty name to Liao. Thus, the Liao dynasty officially became the hegemon of the north. After the death of Emperor Taizu of Song, his younger brother, Emperor Taizong, destroyed the Later Han and a few other smaller regimes, unifying the south. Ambitious, he led his army north, intending to reclaim the Sixteen Prefectures of Yan and Yun, but both of his attacks on Liao ended in failure. It was during this time that the well-known Yang family generals stepped onto the historical stage, composing a leaving behind countless wonderful stories that are still told today. This article is based on the folk legend of the Yang family generals and is a fictional adaptation of the ATV TV series "The Twelve Widows' Expedition to the West." The characters, personalities, and plot are all fictional and intended to disrespect the loyal and heroic Yang family. Readers are encouraged to treat this as a lighthearted conversation and not delve into the implications or personal gains or losses. The author expresses sincere gratitude. *********************************************************************** Chapter One: The Western Xia Invades the Border During the Tiansheng era of Emperor Renzong of Song, Li Deming, a Tangut, took advantage of the continuous wars between Song and Liao. He feigned allegiance to Song and was granted the title of Duke of Xia internal governance and military expansion, launching successive attacks on the Uyghur and Tibetan tribes. As his power grew, Li Deming's ambitions swelled, and he harbored rebellious intentions. After the Battle of Tianmen Formation, although the Song Dynasty won, its national strength was greatly affected. Therefore, it negotiated peace with Empress Dowager Xiao of the Liao Dynasty, and the two countries entered a rare period of rest and recuperation. At this time, Emperor Renzong ascended the throne. He was gentle and kind, lacking in decisiveness, and also favored Consort Pang, the daughter of Grand Tutor Pang Ji. Therefore, he entrusted state affairs to Grand Tutor Pang. Grand Tutor Pang was treacherous and cunning, forming cliques and pursuing personal gain. He was greedy and, to eliminate dissidents, ruthlessly suppressed meritorious officials and promoted his confidants to important positions, causing widespread resentment and chaos in the officialdom. For a time, half of the court officials were Grand Tutor Pang's disciples. Fortunately, with the assistance of the Eighth Prince Zhao Defang and the Double Heavenly Official Kou Zhun, Grand Tutor Pang was unable to wield absolute power! One day, Emperor Renzong was attending court when he suddenly heard that Wang Cheng, the general of Yan'an Prefecture on the border, had delivered a memorial. Emperor Renzong had a eunuch present it, and upon opening it, he couldn't help but shudder. The memorial read: "Your Majesty, I, Wang Cheng, the General of Yan'an Prefecture, report: Today, the Western Xia sent a declaration of war, mobilizing an army of 100,000 men, led by their second prince Li Yuanhao, who invaded the border, claiming they would seize the throne of our Great Song Dynasty! To protect the nation, I led troops in a valiant resistance, but due to being outnumbered, we have already suffered three defeats. The border is in dire need of reinforcements. I implore Your Majesty to send reinforcements immediately!" Emperor Renzong panicked and hastily summoned the Eighth Prince, handing him the memorial to read. After reading it, the Eighth Prince whispered something in Emperor Renzong's ear before stepping aside. Hearing the words of the Eighth Prince, Emperor Renzong felt somewhat relieved and said loudly, "Li Deming of Western Xia, disregarding the kindness of our Great Song Dynasty, has brazenly invaded the border. The border is now in dire straits, and the General of Yan'an Prefecture has sent a memorial requesting aid. I wonder which of my esteemed ministers is willing to lead troops to the border to resist the enemy and uphold the prestige of our Great Song Dynasty?" His clear voice echoed throughout the hall, but after a moment, not a single official answered. Emperor Renzong was slightly annoyed and said loudly, "Is there not a single official in the entire court willing to share my burdens and lead troops to resist Western Xia?" The officials looked at each other, but none dared to step forward to accept the order. They remained silent, their gazes fixed on Grand Tutor Pang, who stood at the head of the table. Seeing this, Emperor Renzong could only sigh helplessly. Just then, Chancellor Kou Zhun stepped forward and said, "Your Majesty, I recommend someone who can repel the Western Xia invaders!" Emperor Renzong was overjoyed and said, "Whom do you recommend? Tell me quickly!" Kou Zhun glanced at the Eighth Prince, who nodded slightly, and then said loudly, "Yang Zongbao , the Marquis of Loyalty and Bravery, son of the former Grand Marshal Yang Yanzhao, is intelligent, brave, loyal to the emperor, and patriotic. He is suitable for this task!" Emperor Renzong suddenly realized and said, "What you say is very true. If you hadn't mentioned it, I would have almost forgotten about this matter. Then , summon Yang Zongbao to court!" Before Kou Zhun could express his gratitude, Grand Tutor Pang suddenly stepped forward and said, "Your Majesty, I think this matter is inappropriate." Emperor Renzong asked, "What are your concerns, Grand Tutor?" Grand Tutor Pang said, "Two years ago, Meng Liang and Jiao Zan, generals under Grand Marshal Yang Yanzhao, were greedy for merit and acted rashly." This resulted in heavy losses of troops and the death of a general in a foreign land. Yang Yanzhao fell ill with grief and never recovered, passing away soon after. His Majesty, remembering Yang Yanzhao's past merits, not only did not hold him accountable, but also graciously bestowed honors upon Yang Yanzhao's only son, Yang Zongbao, ordering him to accompany the Tianbo Mansion to Huotang Village to observe mourning for Yang Yanzhao, and to remain unmobilized for three years regardless of whether there was any official engagement. Now, before the mourning period is over, summoning Yang Zongbao back to court is, in my humble opinion, inappropriate. Furthermore, our Great Song has many excellent generals; why insist on having Yang Zongbao lead the expedition? Whether my humble opinion is reasonable or not, I hope Your Majesty will consider it carefully!” Emperor Renzong knew that Grand Tutor Pang had a long-standing feud with the Yang family of the Tianbo Mansion. Out of respect for Consort Pang, he initially wanted to agree with Grand Tutor Pang's words, but then he remembered the tense situation at the border and the fact that no one in the court dared to lead the army against the enemy. Therefore, he frowned and said: "Since Grand Tutor is so confident, you must already have someone in mind to lead the expedition. Whom would you like to recommend?" Faced with this question from Emperor Renzong, Grand Tutor Pang knew he had no way out, but his subordinates were all sycophantic and incompetent officials.

He was practically a free kill on the battlefield, and there was no way to support him. So, he had to bite the bullet and say, "
Your Majesty , the current commander of the Three Passes, Huyan Pixian, is highly respected and skilled in military strategy. He has been guarding the Three Passes for
more than two years in place of Yang Yanzhao, and the Liao people have not dared to approach the territory of the Great Song Dynasty even an inch. He is truly the best candidate to confront the Western Xia!"

This Huyan Pixian was the meritorious official who went to the border at the age of fourteen to capture the treacherous minister Pan Renmei. He was also a
close friend of the Yang family of Tianbo Mansion. Grand Tutor Pang did not want to recommend Huyan Pixian, but he had no one else under his command and wanted to gain a
reputation for recommending virtuous and capable people in front of Emperor Renzong. So, he recommended him in this way.

Emperor Renzong muttered to himself, "This Minister Huyan is indeed capable of shouldering heavy responsibilities, but if he is sent to confront the Western Xia,
who should guard the three passes?"

Grand Tutor Pang was stumped by Renzong's question. His initial intention was simply to prevent Yang Zongbao from taking on this important task, lest the
Yang family gain another merit, so he had not considered anything else and could only remain silent.

Seeing this, Kou Zhun chimed in, "Your Majesty is wise! General Huyan is guarding the three passes and should not be moved lightly. Otherwise, if the Liao people
see that the three passes are not guarded by strong generals, they will surely want to invade again. At that time, we will be attacked from two sides, and the situation will only become more critical! In my humble
opinion, it is most appropriate to immediately summon Yang Zongbao back to the capital and let him lead the expedition!"

Renzong hesitated and subconsciously turned his gaze to the Eighth Prince.

The Eighth Prince was waiting for Emperor Renzong to come to him, so he stepped forward and said, "Your Majesty, although the country has its laws and the family has its rules, there
is always a priority in everything. Although Your Majesty ordered Yang Zongbao to observe three years of mourning, at that time the world was at peace and
the country was prosperous . But now the Western Xia has invaded and the border is in danger, which is not an ordinary situation.
Moreover, Yang Zongbao has less than three months left in his mourning period and has already fulfilled his filial duty. It is not inappropriate to summon him back to court at this time. It can also show Your Majesty's love for loyal ministers and generals, and your ability to select the virtuous and capable
without being bound by convention!"

The Eighth Prince's words reassured Emperor Renzong, and he immediately issued an edict to summon Yang Zongbao back to court, appointing him as
the Grand Marshal , leading 200,000 troops to Yan'an Prefecture to fight against the Western Xia!

Grand Tutor Pang had nothing to say after the imperial edict was issued, so he could only withdraw. Most of the civil and military officials in the court followed Grand Tutor Pang's
lead , and when Grand Tutor Pang nodded, no one dared to raise any objections.

Emperor Renzong was overjoyed to see that the border troubles had been quelled and ordered Kou Zhun to personally deliver the decree to Huotang Village. He immediately adjourned the court and
returned to the palace to find Consort Pang.

Meanwhile

, the men and women of the Yang family, led by She Taijun, arrived at Huotang Village, buried Yang Yanzhao's remains,
and built a temporary shelter in front of the tomb for Yang Zongbao, who was observing mourning.

Time flew by, and nearly three years had passed. Less than a month remained until the end of the mourning period.
It was early spring, still chilly, and all things were beginning to grow.

One day, in Huotang Village, She Taijun was sitting quietly in the main hall when a servant suddenly reported that Prime Minister Kou Zhun
had arrived. Knowing it must be something important, She Taijun, leaning on her dragon-headed cane, personally rose to greet him.

When Kou Zhun entered the main hall, he saw that Grandmother She had come to greet him personally. He quickly took a few steps to support the old lady and said,
"Grandmother She is of high moral character and advanced age. How could I possibly come to greet you in person? I am so ashamed."

Although Grandmother She was over eighty years old, she was still very energetic. Her back was straight and she had white hair and a youthful face. Her steps
were steady and her eyes were bright and piercing.

Upon hearing Kou Zhun's words, She Taijun smiled and said, "I knew that the Prime Minister's arrival must be for important matters. If
I am not mistaken, it must be by imperial decree, which is why I rose to greet you."

Kou Zhun exclaimed in surprise, "Old Madam, you have excellent eyesight! I have indeed come by imperial decree."

She Taijun said, "His Majesty has decreed that all of us from Tianbo Mansion should observe mourning here. Now that the mourning period is not yet over, the Prime Minister has
suddenly come to visit. I wonder if there is an emergency at the border?"

Kou Zhun clapped his hands in praise, "Old Madam, you are truly insightful! Li Deming of Western Xia is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Disregarding the
kindness shown to him by our Great Song Dynasty, he has ordered his son, Li Yuanhao, to lead an army of 100,000 to invade. Wang Cheng, the garrison commander of Yan'an Prefecture, could not withstand the attack and
submitted an urgent report to His Majesty, requesting reinforcements. None of the civil and military officials dared to take command, so I, Kou Zhun, had no choice
but to recommend Zongbao. Therefore, I have disturbed you, Old Madam. I hope you will forgive me."

She Taijun said, "Prime Minister... " "You flatter me, sir! My Yang family is full of loyal martyrs who all sacrificed their lives for the Song Dynasty. Now that
the Song Dynasty is in trouble, as subjects, it is my duty to step forward and serve the country! Prime Minister, you have devoted yourself to the country and
made great contributions Please take

a seat and rest for a while." She Taijun invited Kou Zhun to sit down and said to Yang Paifeng, "Quickly go to the tomb and call Zongbao to receive the imperial decree."

Yang Paifeng went through the backyard to the tomb on the back hill, entered the mat tent, and saw Yang Zongbao. She did not bow, but simply
called out softly, "Zongbao, Prime Minister Kou Zhun
has come with an imperial decree, saying that the Western Xia has invaded the border and he summons you back to court. He is , so the old lady ordered me to come and call you."

Although Yang Paifeng was a maid in the mansion, she had entered the Yang family at a young
age and grew up with her eighth and ninth sisters. She had a very high seniority and was very much liked by She Taijun. Even Yang Zongbao had to call her aunt. Therefore, she did not need to bow when entering the hall and
called Yang Zongbao by his name directly.

Since the beginning of his mourning period, Yang Zongbao had worn a mourning cap and robe every day, staying at his father
Yang Yanzhao's grave year-round to fulfill his filial duty. Besides sweeping the grave and offering sacrifices, he would either meditate outside the shed, practicing his martial arts and
swordsmanship , or sit inside, diligently studying military texts.

When Yang Paifeng arrived, Yang Zongbao was sitting comfortably inside, perusing military books. Hearing Yang Paifeng's words, he quickly
stood up said, "Thank you for informing me, Aunt. Please tell Grandmother and Lord Kou that I will come immediately after changing my clothes."

Yang Zongbao did not appear tall when seated, but he was imposing when standing. He was eight feet tall, with a robust physique, broad shoulders and a powerful build, long arms and a
strong waist, a fair complexion, thick eyebrows, large eyes, a high nose, and a wide mouth—truly a
dragon !

After Yang Paifeng left, Yang Zongbao left the mourning tent and went to the bedroom in the back hall to change his clothes. Before he even entered the room,
a voice called out from behind, "Husband, why aren't you keeping vigil at the grave today? Why are you back in the room?"

Yang Zongbao turned around and saw a middle-aged beauty approaching gracefully. Her hair was styled in a high bun, and
she wore a black jacket underneath a plain robe. She wore no gold or silver jewelry, nor did she apply any rouge or powder. Her almond-shaped eyes were bright and clear,
and her gaze held a sharp, intelligent glint. Her eyebrows were like painted strokes, thin and long, like willow leaves, and her brows exuded a heroic spirit that
made one hesitant to look directly at her. Her face was like a peach blossom, and her skin was as white as mutton fat jade, without a single flaw. Although she was without makeup, her fair and
moist skin and slightly flushed cheeks surpassed any amount of cosmetics. Her delicate nose was high and straight, and her cherry-like lips...
Her lips were full and alluring, her complexion delicate yet firm.

If the woman's appearance was only exceptional, not quite celestial, then her figure was
truly rare and unparalleled.

She was over seven feet tall, her head level with Yang Zongbao's eyebrows, surpassing most men. While her shoulders weren't as
broad as Yang Zongbao's, they were exceptionally rounded and strong, with a subtle bulge at the shoulder blades, hinting at immense strength. Her arms were
long , yet not as slender and thin as those of ordinary women; her upper arms were full and well-defined, her forearms rounded and straight,
perfectly blending feminine grace with masculine strength.

From the front, the most striking feature of the beautiful woman is undoubtedly her full, rounded, and towering breasts. Even though she
wears a loose, high-necked plain robe, it cannot conceal her two high and firm peaks. What is even more astonishing
is that although her breasts are full and rounded, they do not sag at all. Instead, they are slightly upturned, and as she walks,
the peaks tremble slightly with her body, showing amazing elasticity and weight!

Looking down from her towering breasts, one sees her smooth and firm abdomen, which makes one feel as if she
has fallen straight down from a cliff and landed on an endless plain. A black ribbon is draped over her loose plain robe, which
crosses her abdomen, showing off its firmness and flatness, and perfectly showing off her slender waist.
It is like a silent river on the plain, meandering and flowing, nourishing the soil along the banks, or like an ink ring,
tightly locking the slender waist of a white snake.

Viewed from the side or back, the towering breasts might not be the most eye-catching feature; rather, the
full dominate the view.

Beyond the slender waist, the woman's curves suddenly widen, like a stream flowing into a lake. Her
broad hips resemble a vast basin, stretching the hem of her white robe like an umbrella. Her
large, firm buttocks, round like a full moon, create an exaggerated yet beautiful arc on the robe.

Because the robe reaches her ankles, her legs are completely concealed. One can only guess
at their length, straightness, fullness, and shapeliness by observing her tall figure, the swaying hem of her skirt, and her firm, steady steps . From any angle, the beautiful woman's tall and voluptuous figure resembled a masterpiece painting. However, even the most exquisite artist could not fully capture the mature charm and allure of her figure, a perfect blend of heroic strength and captivating beauty. If the imposing Yang Zongbao resembled a mighty halberd, then the tall and graceful woman was like the symbol of the Yang family generals—a long spear that pierced through the air, revealing only a hint of its cold gleam. This woman was none other than Mu Guiying, Yang Zongbao's wife, a woman of both literary and martial talents. For her merit in breaking the Tianmen Formation, she was bestowed the title of Marquis of Hun Tian by Emperor Zhenzong. After the Song and Liao armies ceased hostilities, Mu Guiying remained in the Tianbo Mansion and never returned to the battlefield. However, while educating only son, Yang Wenguang, and being filial to her grandmother and mother-in-law, she never ceased her practice and study of martial arts and military strategy. Thus, even in her late forties, she maintained a healthy and graceful figure. Time may have taken away Mu Guiying's youthful innocence and vibrant energy, but it left behind the alluring charm and the calm composure gained through trials and tribulations. After marriage and childbirth, Mu Guiying's figure became increasingly full. Her already firm and full breasts grew even larger after childbirth, showing no signs of shrinking even after she stopped breastfeeding. They resembled two large, ripe peaches, plump, heavy, round, white, and juicy. Mu Guiying usually did n't a problem, but when practicing martial arts, these large, full breasts were somewhat of a burden, adding a happy trouble to her life. Along with her breasts, her hips also grew. Due to years of martial arts training and horseback riding in battle, Mu Guiying's hips . After becoming pregnant with Yang Wenguang, her hips swelled even more rapidly, becoming full and plump, round like a full moon, and as large as a millstone. Even the trousers that she used to find loose no longer fit, and she had to buy new ones. Even after becoming a mother and losing much of her girlish shyness and reserve, Mu Guiying was still ashamed and troubled . She had secretly observed the figures of the aunts and other women in the household and found that none of them had such round and full hips as hers. Compared to her unmarried eighth and ninth sisters and Yang Paifeng, they were several sizes larger. How could Mu Guiying not be troubled? In order to cover up her particularly conspicuous hips, Mu Guiying had to sew her own undergarments and always wore loose and voluminous skirts or robes on the outside. But even so, her unusually pert hips could still be seen from the outline of her clothes, leaving Mu Guiying helpless. Fortunately, there were few men in the Tianbo Mansion, and Mu Guiying rarely went out. She usually interacted with the women such as her eldest aunt, second aunt, eighth sister, and ninth sister, so she didn't care too much! Hearing his wife's question, Yang Zongbao's usually stern face softened with a rare smile. He said gently, "Grandmother just came to say that Prime Minister Kou Zhun has come by imperial decree. I am wearing mourning clothes and it is not appropriate , so I went back to my room to change. Where is Wenguang? Why isn't he in his room writing?" Mu Guiying smiled sweetly, but said with a hint of reproach, "Guang'er must have sneaked out to play . That child is being spoiled rotten by his aunts and uncles. He's as mischievous as a monkey, always disappearing from sight." Yang Zongbao frowned and said, "Wenguang is almost fifteen years old. He should be more sensible by now. When I was his age, I was already fighting alongside my father on the battlefield, but he was still playful and mischievous, like a little child! Alas, it's all my fault for being stationed at the border all year round and not having taken good care of Wenguang. I've left you to manage this household alone. It's been hard on you!" Mu Guiying listened to this... Yan felt a warmth in her heart, and all her grievances and bitterness vanished. Her eyes reddened as she said, "Guiying isn't suffering. With Grandmother and all the aunts and uncles helping out at home, Guiying doesn't have to lift a finger. It's you, my husband, who are all alone guarding the cold border. It's truly too hard for you. Guiying feels so sorry for you..." Yang Zongbao sighed and said, "I know we've been apart for so long these past years, leaving you alone at home..." It's too lonely for you to be alone in this empty room, but we men of the Yang family are all upright and honorable. Our grandfathers and uncles all sacrificed their lives to protect our country, and now our father has also left us. As the only son of the Yang family, how could I dare to be even slightly negligent? I had hoped to spend a few more days with you after the mourning period ended, but unexpectedly, the Emperor sent Lord Kou Zhun to deliver a message saying that the Western Xia have invaded and the border is in dire straits, so he summoned me back to court! I have no choice but to obey the Emperor's decree.

"Moreover, the nation is in peril, and I, as your husband, cannot stand idly by! But who knows how many years this journey will take? I'm so sorry to trouble
you, my beloved wife!"

Mu Guiying comforted him, "Although I am a woman, I know what national righteousness is, I can distinguish right
from wrong , and I can tell what is important and what is not. Husband, please go ahead. I will leave this family to you. Don't worry about anything. I only
hope that you will be careful and take good care of yourself. Guiying and Guang'er will be waiting at home for your triumphant return so that
the whole family can be reunited!"

Yang Zongbao held his wife's shoulders and said with deep emotion, "With such a wife, what more could I, Yang Zongbao, ask for!

Rest assured, I will act cautiously and complete the mission as soon as possible." " The mission entrusted to me is to return home and reunite with you. Then,
my husband and I will take Wenguang back to Muke Village to visit my father-in-law, so that he can help teach
this naughty boy Wenguang a good lesson!"

Mu Guiying nodded and said softly, "Hurry up and go inside to change your clothes! Don't keep Grandmother and Lord Kou waiting."

Yang Zongbao looked at his wife affectionately, pushed open the door, and took off
his mourning clothes and hat. Mu Guiying then searched for his clothes and packed some spare clothes for him. Afterward, the couple went to the front hall hand in hand.

Upon seeing Yang Zongbao and Mu Guiying, Kou Zhun felt ashamed and immediately stood up, saying, "Nephew, it's not that your uncle
is heartless or disturbing your family's time together. It's just that the Western Xia have invaded, the border is in dire straits, and there's no one in the court capable of this
important task. That's why I reluctantly recommended you. I hope you and your wife won't blame me."

Yang Zongbao said solemnly, "Uncle, what are you saying! As a subject of the Great Song Dynasty and a son of the Yang family,
I should be loyal to the country. I am grateful for your kind recommendation. How could I blame you?"

Kou Zhun nodded with satisfaction, took out the imperial edict from his sleeve, and presented it above his head with both hands, saying solemnly, "Yang Zongbao ,
receive the edict!"

As soon as the edict was issued, everyone in the hall knelt down, shouting "Long live the Emperor!" She Taijun had a dragon-headed cane bestowed by the Emperor,
so she didn't need to rush into court or bow to the Emperor. She only needed to tap the dragon-headed cane three times to perform a grand ceremony, so she only bowed slightly.

Kou Zhun unfolded the imperial edict and read aloud: "Imperial Edict: Li Deming of Western Xia, who has received imperial favor for generations, has not thought of repaying it, but instead
has engaged in reckless military campaigns, violating the borders of our Great Song Dynasty. His ambitions are truly those of a wolf, and he is an outrage against both gods and men! In order to resist the invaders, protect the
territory , and safeguard the peace of our people, we hereby appoint Marquis Yang Zongbao as General Who Conquers the West, granting him the imperial insignia and commanding 200,000 elite troops
to lead an expedition against Western Xia, severely damaging the enemy's morale and upholding the prestige of our Great Song Dynasty! So be it!"

Yang Zongbao kowtowed in gratitude, accepted the edict, and then rose, saying, "May I ask, Uncle, regarding the invasion of Western Xia, is it..." "Who
commands the troops?"

Kou Zhun replied, "General Wang Cheng of Yan'an Prefecture sent an urgent memorial reporting that Li Yuanhao, the second son of Li Deming, is leading
100,000 , with Wang Longjinhuan on his left shoulder as the vanguard, to attack Yanzhou. Wang Cheng suffered three consecutive defeats and had to retreat to Yan'an Prefecture, holding
the city and raising a white flag of surrender! Before you came here, Uncle, His Majesty had already dispatched 200,000 troops, waiting for you to return to court
to receive the Tiger Tally and Commander's Seal so that you can immediately set out. There is no time to lose, let's hurry on our way!"

Yang Zongbao said, "I see. This time I'll have a good look at this Li Yuanhao." "Hao, let's see what he's capable
of , daring to invade the borders of our Great Song!"

Having said this, Yang Zongbao turned and bowed to She Taijun, saying, "Grandmother, it's not that I'm unwilling to observe mourning for my father,
but the country is in peril, and His Majesty has summoned me. As a son of the Yang family, it is my duty to be loyal. I hope Grandmother will forgive me."

She Taijun helped Yang Zongbao up, saying with satisfaction, "Good! You truly are a descendant of the Yang family! Zongbao, you can
go with peace of mind. With Grandmother guarding this home, I guarantee you'll be safe!"

Yang Zongbao nodded, his gaze turning to Mu Guiying. He whispered, "Guiying, I'm leaving.
Discipline , and wait for my return!"

Since the couple had already spoken of parting in the back hall, Mu Guiying didn't want to show too much reluctance,
lest she cause Yang Zongbao worry. So she simply nodded emphatically and softly said, "Take care!"

These two words, though brief, carried immense weight. Yang Zongbao gazed lovingly at his beloved
wife his aunts, uncles, and other relatives, before striding out of the hall.

Outside the stronghold, Yang Paifeng had already prepared warhorses, weapons, and armor. Yang Zongbao mounted his steed, took the spear,
placed the armor on the saddle, and, together with Kou Zhun's carriage, headed straight for Bianliang, the capital!

******************************************************************

That night, the Huotang Stronghold was pitch black and utterly silent, except for the oil lamp still burning in Mu Guiying's room.

Perhaps because of her separation from her husband, Mu Guiying was restless and tossed and turned in bed for a long time,
unable to fall asleep. Instead, she inexplicably broke out in a sweat, soaking the sheets.

Frustrated, Mu Guiying got up and looked out the window. It was pitch black outside, the sky a hazy gray
with only a few listless stars. Judging by the sky, it was still at least two or
three hours until dawn.

Mu Guiying, always a clean person, felt uncomfortable, her body sticky and damp with sweat. She wanted to call a maid to bring
some hot water for a bath, but considering it was late and the maids had already gone to bed, she sighed and
personally brought the bathtub, filled it with hot water, added some calming and sleep-inducing herbs and flower petals, removed her already sweat-soaked
undergarments and trousers, and stepped into the bathtub.

The warm water washed away the sweat, and the petals released a delicate fragrance. After
soaking , Mu Guiying's smooth, white skin, like mutton-fat jade, blushed slightly,
like a hibiscus flower just opening in the morning, appearing incredibly tender and beautiful.

The medicinal effects gradually dissipated with the water and the scent, and Mu Guiying's tense nerves gradually relaxed. She
closed her almond-shaped eyes, rested her head on the edge of the bathtub, and submerged her entire body in the fragrant warm water, only revealing her rosy
face and half of her snow-white neck. Her soft hands gently caressed the petals floating on the surface, stirring up ripples.

Unconsciously, Mu Guiying recalled the past,
the shy times she spent caring for the injured young Yang Zongbao at Zixia Palace in Lishan,
the comical , the joy and sweetness of their wedding night in the military camp,
the unparalleled glory of the couple working together to break the Heavenly Gate Formation, and
the extreme A happy and sweet smile appeared on Mu Guiying's beautiful face.

Looking back on her life, nearly forty years had passed, and her most cherished memories were all of Yang Zongbao. Amidst
the sweetness .

Since the great victory at Tianmen Formation, the entire Tianbo Mansion had been granted titles, and Yang Zongbao, as the son of the Grand Marshal, had also been given
an important position, stationed at the border. This meant separation from his wife, with long periods of separation and few reunions.
Although they had been together at Huotang Village for the past two years, they couldn't consummate their marriage due to the ongoing mourning period. In total, the couple
hadn't consummated their marriage for six years!

Although Mu Guiying was a remarkable woman of both literary and martial talents, she was still a woman, with the same
joys, .

In the quiet of the night, whenever she recalled the passionate lovemaking with Yang Zongbao, Mu Guiying would become aroused
, her body burning with desire. With the increasing years and the growing separation,
the desire within Mu Guiying grew ever more intense and fervent.

Whenever she felt overwhelmed by desire, Mu Guiying would calm her burning passion through meditation and bathing.
Occasionally, she would chat with her aunts and uncles, such as Zhang Jinding and Li Cuiping, about women's gossip, subtly inquiring about
their methods of relieving their sorrows.

Zhang Jinding and the others, having been widows for many years, naturally understood the implication in Mu Guiying's words, but out of
consideration for face and propriety, they always offered words of comfort. However, her seventh aunt, Du Jin'e, with her straightforward and bold personality, once gave
Mu Guiying an object, saying it could be used in times of distress.

Mu Guiying took the object back to her room, opened it, and immediately blushed and her heart pounded. The object was
about seven inches long, perfectly round, carved entirely from jade. The top was polished into an oval shape with edges, while the rest
was cylindrical—its shape was almost identical to a man's penis!

Mu Guiying, being exceptionally intelligent, immediately understood the object's purpose. Although not from a noble family , she
had learned martial arts from her master, the Holy Mother of Lishan, since childhood. Guiying was well-educated and understood the Three Obediences and Four Virtues
, as well as the principles of female chastity. Moreover, at that time, Neo-Confucianism was beginning to emerge, and the trend of asceticism was prevalent. Mu Guiying, a woman of strong character who dared to love and hate,
was naturally influenced to some extent. She felt that as a wife and mother, she should restrain her desires and remain chaste for her husband.
Therefore, although Mu Guiying was grateful for the thoughtfulness of Seventh Sister Du Jin'e, she dared not use the object, but locked it
away and kept it safe.

After that somewhat embarrassing incident, Mu Guiying never dared to inquire about such matters from the women in the household again.
However, the lust in her body refused to let her off easily, instead growing stronger. She often tossed and turned,
unable to sleep all night. Later, Mu Guiying even began to doubt whether she was that despicable harlot!

This agonizing state only eased after Yang Yanzhao's death. After She Taijun led
the entire Tianbo Mansion to Huotang Village, Mu Guiying's burning desire subsided considerably. She frequently visited
Yang Zongbao, who was observing mourning, sitting quietly with him and talking to him. Being by Yang Zongbao's side brought her peace of mind.
Even when she occasionally found herself unable to control herself, she would think of Yang Zongbao and the scene of their
happy . This filled her with hope, and her desire
naturally dissipated.

Moreover, as Yang Wenguang grew older, Mu Guiying devoted more and more energy to him,
making her days much more fulfilling, leaving her with even less time to think about those passionate affairs!

As the only son of the Yang family, Yang Wenguang was showered with love and affection, which led to his spoiled and willful nature. Approaching
fifteen, he still retained the mischievousness of a child, spending his days walking the dog and fighting cocks with the servants, frequently causing minor trouble.

Mu Guiying saw this and was deeply worried, but whenever she tried to discipline him, Yang Wenguang would run to his aunts and other
relatives for refuge, leaving Mu Guiying in a difficult position.

Mu Guiying had planned to have Yang Zongbao help discipline her son once the mourning period ended, so the whole family could enjoy
a happy reunion . Therefore, the closer the mourning period drew to the end, the more eager and sweet her heart became; she
could almost see the beautiful life of family harmony beckoning to her.

As the saying goes, man proposes, God disposes. Kou Zhun's arrival shattered the rare peace and Mu Guiying's
beautiful dream . The couple didn't even get to spend a night of joy together before they had to separate again. But Mu Guiying was a
righteous and courageous woman, a heroine who put the country first. Even though she was reluctant and helpless, Mu Guiying
firmly supported her husband and his mission to defend their country and fight against the enemy. As for the beautiful life of family reunion,
that would have to wait for another day!

"Sigh!"

Mu Guiying sighed softly, pulling herself out of her boundless thoughts. But she couldn't calm down.
Logically speaking, she should be used to the days of separation from her husband, but for some reason, she felt
uneasy this time.

Mu Guiying kicked the water, as if trying to dispel her worries like flower petals. Her shapely, straight legs
gently stretched out, creating a splash. Her legs weren't exactly slender, but they were exceptionally straight and long. Her plump,
rounded thighs were submerged, only a hint of white showing, while her shapely, straight calves floated on the surface,
like two tender lotus roots drifting quietly among flower petals, appearing graceful and elegant. Her delicate feet
rested gently on the edge of the bathtub, like works of art carved from natural jade.

Although she practiced martial arts and horseback riding for many years, Mu Guiying's feet didn't have the thick calluses of ordinary warriors.
This was thanks to her extra care for her feet, because at that time, having a pair of small, soft
feet was an important standard for judging a woman's beauty. Influenced by this, the beauty-loving Mu Guiying naturally took extra care of her feet.

Every time she went to battle or for training, Mu Guiying would wear the pair of deerskin boots her master had given her, and
wrap her jade-like feet in layers of cotton gauze to prevent calluses and dead skin caused by intense friction and long marches. Whenever
possible , Mu Guiying would soak her feet in warm water, sometimes adding flower petals, milk, or
other whitening, smoothing, and odor-removing substances or fragrances to ensure her feet remained soft and smooth. It could be said that Mu Guiying cared for her feet even more meticulously than her
beautiful face.

Upon closer inspection, her delicate and beautiful feet seemed disproportionate to Mu Guiying's tall and athletic figure; her
feet were rather small and exquisite, making one wonder if such fair and soft feet could support her full
and healthy body. Yet, these small feet, braving stirrups and bearing full armor, galloped across the battlefield,
breaking through enemy lines and defeating generals with unparalleled success, perfectly embodying the ancient saying—"Don't judge a book by its cover, and the same applies to beautiful feet!"

Those jade-like feet rested there so lightly, without moving an inch. Having soaked in hot water for a long time, the white and tender
insteps had a hint of rosy red, and the faint blue veins were visible, showing the health of the jade feet.
The jade toes, arranged neatly like woven shells, were tightly pressed together without any gaps. The toes were round and straight, with a
moist luster. The toenails were trimmed flat and smooth, like pearls. The concave arch
of the foot was like a precious carved bow hanging on the wall, with a beautiful curve. The two feet faced each other from a distance, like two crescent moons. If they were put together,
they would form a circular archway, but this archway was a bit narrow, only wide enough for two fingers to pass through side by side.

Furthermore, although her feet were delicate and small, the soles were not barren; the soft, white flesh
clung to her feet like gauze, adding another layer of grace to her arched feet. Her rounded heels and slightly protruding ankles resembled
cotton buds, ready to bloom, not vying for attention with flowers, but possessing a warm, comforting power!

Before she knew it, much time had passed, and the warm water had gradually cooled. Mu Guiying remained in the bathtub
, eyes closed in meditation. Only when her mind was completely empty, all desires and worries vanished like clouds, did she
open her beautiful eyes and step out of the tub.

After drying herself, Mu Guiying went to the window and noticed that the sky was beginning to lighten. Knowing
she wouldn't be able to sleep much longer, she tidied up the tub and other items, changed into a set of strong-fitting clothes, and went to the courtyard
to begin practicing her martial arts!
