Liu Rushi

Liu
Rushi Author: Huang Quan "It's not that I love the world of courtesans, but I seem to have been misled by a past life. The budding and falling of flowers have their own time, all depending on the Lord of Spring. To leave is inevitable, to stay is impossible. If I could have my head covered in mountain flowers, don't ask where I'm going." *Bu Suanzi* – Yan Rui Courtesans don't willingly fall into prostitution; it's a cruel twist of fate. They would rather be peasant women with their heads covered in mountain flowers. Within a hundred paces, there are bound to be fragrant grasses, and brothels are not lacking in virtuous and talented women. The protagonist of this story—Liu Rushi—is a talented woman trapped in the brothel, her heart yearning for the world.
※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※ Liu Rushi (1618-1664), ancestral home Wujiang (present-day Jiangsu), originally surnamed Yang, named Ai, later changed her name to Yinglian, and also called herself Hedong Jun…etc.
When Liu Rushi was ten years old, she was sold into a brothel in Shengze Town called "Ten Rooms." The owner of "Ten Rooms" was Xu Fu, a famous courtesan of the late Ming Dynasty. Xu Fu was well-versed in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, and her beauty was renowned throughout Jiangnan.
After entering "Ten Rooms," Liu Rushi learned the various skills necessary for a life of prostitution under the guidance of this "foster mother."
Liu Rushi was beautiful and intelligent, and she mastered music, chess, calligraphy, and painting very quickly. She not only became the most beautiful and talented courtesan in "Ten Rooms," but was also later listed as one of the "Eight Beauties of Jinling" (see my work "Dong Xiaowan" for details).
At that time, in Wujiang, there was a man named Zhou Daodeng, who had been dismissed from his position as prime minister by Emperor Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty. This man was a lecherous old man. Although he had many wives and concubines, he still used the excuse of having no heir to seek out prostitutes everywhere. "Ten Rooms" naturally became Zhou Daodeng's target for hunting women, and Liu Rushi was the first to be targeted and forcibly bought by the Zhou family.
At the time, Zhou Daodeng was an old man in his sixties, while Liu Rushi was only fourteen. But the wealthy and powerful, who spouted righteousness and morality, were precisely the places where conscience and morality had vanished, and a beautiful flower was trampled upon by that sinful system.
Despite being over fifty, Zhou Daodeng was no less skilled in bed than a young man. Although he lacked a large penis, his flirting skills could bring women he touched to multiple orgasms, leaving them with unforgettable memories.
Although Zhou Daodeng ostensibly took a concubine, because Liu Rushi was a prostitute, the Zhou household kept a low profile to avoid attracting attention. All customary celebrations and banquets were waived, and they went straight to the bridal chamber.
In the bridal chamber, Liu Rushi, lightly made up and dressed in simple clothes, sat quietly on the edge of the bed. With her light makeup, Liu Rushi appeared even more elegant and dignified; if not told otherwise, who would believe she was a courtesan? Her naturally beautiful face, with her thoughtfully furrowed brows, evoked a sense of pity and tenderness.
Zhou Daodeng approached Liu Rushi, gently patting her shoulder as if to cherish, love, and comfort her. Suddenly, Zhou Daodeng's fingers curled, and "Hiss!" Liu Rushi's blouse ripped open, revealing her fair breasts, her firm, rounded nipples bouncing open.
Liu Rushi's natural reaction was to cry out in surprise, "Ah!" She quickly covered her chest with her hands to hide herself, shrinking into the corner of the bed while looking at Zhou Daodeng with a mixture of shock, shame, and confusion. She was truly bewildered, not understanding why Zhou Daodeng had done this!
Zhou Daodeng's lecherous eyes stared at Liu Rushi. He enjoyed seeing women's frightened expressions; it seemed that a woman's helpless and sorrowful expression aroused his lust even more. A near-perverse, violent pleasure drove Zhou Daodeng like a beast toying with its dying prey. His gaze, sharp as lightning, fixed on Liu Rushi, as he moved closer. "Swish! Swish!..." The continuous tearing sounds of fabric revealed Liu Rushi to be almost completely naked.
Liu Rushi was like a frightened bird, completely bewildered. In a panicked scream, she let her clothes fall piece by piece to the ground; her hands frantically tried to cover herself, but could not conceal the exposed skin.
Zhou Daodeng pounced on Liu Rushi like a hungry tiger, his lips raining down on her breasts, making continuous "tsk! tsk!" sounds, like savoring a delicious meal. His greedy tongue brushed against her soft skin, sending a cool, itchy sensation through Liu Rushi, causing her to shiver. Zhou Daodeng's extreme behavior—wild in his sexuality and gentle in his affections—slowly awakened a deep-seated, natural, and primal desire within Liu Rushi.
Zhou Daodeng's hands kneaded her breasts: sometimes with immense force as if to burst them, sometimes with gentle caresses like a spring breeze; his lips and tongue touched her nipples: sometimes biting lightly with a slight pain, sometimes sucking hard. Liu Rushi's face flushed red, her body groaning and writhing like an insect. The pleasure of the touch on her skin stirred a deep heat within her, giving Liu Rushi an unprecedented feeling of lust.
Zhou Daodeng moved, kneeling between Liu Rushi's legs, placing a pillow under her buttocks. Instantly, the high, rounded mons pubis, the sparse, soft hair, the slightly parted slit of flesh... were all laid bare before him. The moment of contact was approaching, and Liu Rushi couldn't help but feel grief, sorrow, and fear. Her heart pounded wildly, and her whole body stiffened and tensed.
Zhou Daodeng first licked her vulva with his tongue, leaving some saliva, then rubbed her clitoris with his thumb, adjusting his position before forcefully thrusting forward. "Ah!" Liu Rushi cried out in pain. Zhou Daodeng could feel her trembling slightly inside her.
Liu Rushi, experiencing lovemaking for the first time, felt waves of burning pain in her lower body. Tears streamed down her face like a burst dam. Her natural reaction was to shrink away, but Zhou Daodeng held her legs firmly. Liu Rushi's attempt to twist away only thwarted her efforts, allowing Zhou Daodeng to penetrate even deeper.
Zhou Daodeng began to make shallow in-and-out movements, using his penis to feel the warmth and tightness of Liu Rushi's vagina. Liu Rushi's tense emotions and stiff body seemed to hinder Zhou Daodeng's movements, so he said breathlessly, "Xiaoru, relax a little. Being stiff will only increase the pain. The pleasure will come naturally in a while..."
Whether Liu Rushi listened to his advice or was already numb and powerless, her tense muscles finally slowly relaxed, and she began to feel a different kind of tingling sensation amidst the stinging pain. Liu Rushi seemed to possess an innate ability to "meet challenges head-on," as her vagina unconsciously secreted moisture, making Zhou Daodeng's thrusting movements increasingly smooth.
Zhou Daodeng slowly employed every erotic technique he knew, employing deep and shallow grinding, light and heavy thrusts… gradually making Liu Rushi feel the pleasure of being scratched and pounded inside her body. The stinging sensation transformed into a masochistic pleasure, and moans filled with pain, wantonness, and satisfaction escaped from deep within her throat, mingled with irregular breaths.
"Does it still hurt?" Zhou Daodeng asked without pausing. Liu Rushi closed her eyes, panting, nodding and shaking her head, her hands gripping the sheets beside her tightly, still moaning softly.
At this moment, Zhou Daodeng's thrusting frequency gradually increased, and his movements became more and more intense. Liu Rushi's low moans gradually rose in intensity, her twisting lower body seemingly indicating that certain itchy corners within her body desperately needed solace; or perhaps urging the energy of pleasure within her body to erupt quickly.
The movements of intercourse seemed to have reached their peak speed, and the resulting orgasm would surely be earth-shattering and awe-inspiring…
※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※ Liu Rushi's arrival at the Zhou residence stirred up even more filthy waves within the already corrupt household; competition for favor, inheritance, and power created a chaotic and murky atmosphere. Zhou Daodeng's existing wives and concubines all regarded Liu Rushi as a thorn in their side; his political enemies and adversaries also wanted to use the scandal of the Grand Secretary marrying a prostitute to ruin his reputation.
The strong-willed, free-spirited, and intelligent Liu Rushi ignored all foolish and despicable acts, pursuing only what she deserved according to her own desires. However, one of Zhou Daodeng's concubines, Ruolan, secretly plotted against Liu Rushi.
One day, after having an affair with a young male servant in the woodshed, Ruolan encouraged him to seduce Liu Rushi and then expose their affair, thus removing an obstacle to their struggle.
The young male servant, Laifu, was tall and imposing. Though not handsome, he possessed a refined air. Almost half of Zhou Daodeng's wives and concubines had affairs with him, and the maids in the manor openly gossiped and plotted against each other. The lecherous Laifu had long coveted Liu Rushi's beauty, and now, with Ruolan's secret assistance, he was naturally happy to comply.
Ruolan took the opportunity to summon Liu Rushi, entertaining her with food and wine, ostensibly for a chat and reminiscing, but secretly urging her to drink until she was drunk. Then, she and Laifu led her to an inner room, where Laifu took advantage of her intoxication to rape her. Ruolan then strolled around the manor, hoping to find witnesses to catch them in the act.
However, Laifu, unwilling to act unilaterally and also harboring genuine feelings for Liu Rushi, secretly hid her elsewhere while Ruolan was away, leaving her empty-handed when she went to catch them in the act. When Liu Rushi, still slightly sober and confused, was told by Laifu the whole story, he also confessed his love for her.
Liu Rushi was both shocked and furious. She thought, "How could the Prime Minister's residence be like this? It's utterly depraved!" Laifu's declaration of love, disregarding the master-servant relationship, yet refraining from taking advantage of her in her drunken state, showed a clear understanding of his desires. This resonated with Liu Rushi's personality, causing her to unconsciously develop feelings for him, her girlish heart gradually blossoming.
As Liu Rushi hesitated, unsure whether to accept Laifu's affections, he suddenly pulled her close, their lips pressed together in a passionate kiss. Blinded by love, Liu Rushi half-heartedly accepted Laifu's passion, her clothes loosening, yet she had no regrets, and they went to bed together...
Laifu lightly traced the smooth skin of Liu Rushi with his fingers; the thrill of their tryst and the gentle touch made Liu Rushi tremble slightly. Their skin pressed together, they felt each other's rising body temperature.
Lai Fu's lips parted, gently nibbling Liu Rushi's soft earlobe, then kissing her neck. With her lips freed, Liu Rushi began to exhale soft breaths tinged with moans. At this moment, Lai Fu's lips lingered on Liu Rushi's engorged, slightly hard nipples, gently sucking, while his hand slid down to her abdomen, pressing against her mons pubis, his slender middle finger just touching the upper part of her vulva.
Under this gentle caress, Liu Rushi naturally displayed the shyness and fragility unique to young girls, her weak moans truly irresistible. When Lai Fu's soft tongue lightly probed into Liu Rushi's moist vulva, Liu Rushi involuntarily arched her lower body, letting out wanton cries, feeling a warm, itchy flow within her vagina.
Lai Fu? He inhaled the sour, wet fluid, feeling an overwhelming urge. A few drops of clear liquid oozed from his glans, and he rolled over, pressing himself against Liu Rushi's body. Laifu maintained his usual tenderness, gently entering the forbidden territory he had longed for. "Ah!" Liu Rushi's body convulsed. The thicker, harder penis, even more so than Master Zhou's, made her feel the stinging pain of her first night again. Her hands, gripping Laifu's back, tightened, leaving faint red marks.
When Laifu, after a series of intense thrusts, ejaculated his thick, hot semen into Liu Rushi's body, she was already oblivious in the dizziness of orgasm. As the passion subsided, Liu Rushi still tightly embraced his limp body, reluctantly holding the softening penis inside her, savoring the feeling of her orgasm, thinking, "...So this is what sexual intercourse between men and women is like..." This pleasure she hadn't even had a chance to experience with Master Zhou, yet she had received it in this forbidden affair. Was it a blessing or a curse? Liu Rushi was puzzled…
※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※ Liu Rushi was like a lamb caught in a pack of wolves in the Zhou household. Her every word and action was under the watchful eyes of everyone, and her affair was quickly discovered by Master Zhou's wives and concubines. Attacks and insults rained down on her like arrows. To those who clung to the hypocritical feudal ethics, they thought they had finally found a weakness and could kill Liu Rushi.
Unexpectedly, Liu Rushi showed no fear and confronted them with righteous indignation, exposing their conspiracy and not concealing her own affair, leaving them speechless and helpless. However, the Prime Minister's mansion, a den of iniquity, claimed to want to maintain its reputation and still expelled Liu Rushi, Laifu, Ruolan, and others, resulting in a lose-lose situation. Poor Liu Rushi was sold back to a brothel by Zhou Daodeng, once again enduring the life of a prostitute, welcoming new men and seeing off old ones.
This experience taught Liu Rushi that, in essence, there was no difference between a woman marrying a prime minister and making a living by selling her smiles; both were merely playing objects for men!
This awakening made Liu Rushi see through the hypocrisy and deceit of society, thus making her even more unrestrained and disregarding all the deceptive social norms. At this time, Liu Rushi changed her name to Yinglian, signifying that she lived in a corrupt world where true friends were hard to find, so she could only pity herself (to avoid confusion, she will continue to be referred to as Liu Rushi, not Yinglian).
During her year-long stay at the Zhou residence, Liu Rushi's greatest gain was the opportunity to read many treasured classics. This subtle influence greatly enhanced her knowledge, allowing her to return to her former profession and further solidify her reputation in literary circles for her outstanding poetry and prose. Many scholars and poets were drawn to her because of this.
Liu Rushi especially considered the three members of the Fushe Society—Zhu Zhengyu, Chen Zilong, and Li Cunwen—as her closest friends. Their scholarship and their spirit of opposing the eunuch faction deeply impressed her. She particularly admired Zhu Zhengyu, who was close in age to her, and felt he was someone she could entrust her life to. However, her experience in the brothel made her hesitant to trust any man easily, so she wanted to test Zhu Zhengyu.
One cold winter day, Liu Rushi sent a letter inviting Zhu Zhengyu to come. Zhu Zhengyu had long admired this talented and beautiful young woman, and they even shared a mutual understanding. However, he had always gone with friends and dared not be presumptuous. This time, being invited alone, he was overjoyed.
The next day, snowflakes fell. Excited and sleepless all night, Zhu Zhengyu hurried to the boathouse at "White Dragon Pool" where Liu Rushi was. Actually, Liu Rushi hadn't slept well either; she was repeatedly contemplating the consequences of her step, and deliberately stayed in bed until dawn.
Zhu Zhengyu rushed to the pool and immediately called for the boatman to bring a gangplank for him to board. The boatman smiled and said, "Miss Yinglian hasn't gotten up yet. She instructed that if you are truly in love, please wait in the water! She will invite you on board after she has finished dressing."
Without hesitation, Zhu Zhengyu jumped into the water. The thin layer of ice on the pool broke! The icy water reached Zhu Zhengyu's waist and hips. He stood there, so devoted, perhaps the heat of his love could withstand the frigid water!
Liu Rushi saw all of this clearly from the boat window, and she was overjoyed to have finally found a devoted lover. Liu Rushi immediately left the cabin and asked the boatman to invite Zhu Zhengyu into her own. She helped him change his wet clothes and used her burning body to warm her shivering lover.
At that moment, the love that had been brewing in their hearts for so long surged forth like water bursting its banks, flowing together in a torrent. For a courtesan like Liu Rushi, sexual relations were commonplace, but always just for show. Now, however, Liu Rushi seemed to be experiencing that same love she had with Laifu again, and she was deeply immersed in the river of love once more!
Although Zhu Zhengyu was embracing her, he seemed somewhat shy, unsure where to begin. Liu Rushi gave him a seductive glare and took his hand, placing it on her breast. Zhu Zhengyu suddenly felt his palms touch two soft, plump mounds of flesh, and couldn't help but gently caress them. Suddenly, as if struck by a sudden realization, he began to gently pinch and tease Liu Rushi's nipples, arousing her desire. Zhu Zhengyu's penis gradually hardened!
Liu Rushi gently grasped Zhu Zhengyu's erection, feeling the warm, hard shaft in her soft, tender hands, her eyes revealing a joyful and wanton gleam. Liu Rushi tightened her grip, moving her wrist to stroke his penis. Zhu Zhengyu's breathing became rapid and labored, a raging fire of desire gradually intensifying.
Suddenly, Liu Rushi lay flat on the bed, her legs slightly parted, stretching out her arms to meet Zhu Zhengyu, only to say coquettishly, "Hold me!" At this moment, Liu Rushi's smooth mons pubis, her two delicate labia… tightly drew Zhu Zhengyu's gaze.
Unable to contain his impulse any longer, Zhu Zhengyu pounced on Liu Rushi, grabbing her full breasts and kneading them forcefully. With irregular breaths, he thrust his swollen, purplish-red glans against Liu Rushi's crotch and inner thighs, looking like he desperately wanted to penetrate her alluring vagina but couldn't find the right spot.
Liu Rushi smiled sweetly, gently pushing Zhu Zhengyu away. She first bent her knees, spreading her legs apart, so Zhu Zhengyu could clearly see her slightly parted labia, revealing her rosy clitoris, a beautiful sight like a pearl nestled in a jade clam. Liu Rushi guided Zhu Zhengyu's penis, directing the glans to the entrance of her vagina. Zhu Zhengyu slowly lowered himself, and with Liu Rushi's slight arching of her back, "Swoosh!" his penis gradually disappeared into the opening!
Zhu Zhengyu naturally began thrusting. The tight constriction on his penis and the wet, slippery lubrication inside her vagina made him increasingly excited, his muscles tensing as he thrust faster and faster. Zhu Zhengyu seemed oblivious to the cold outside, sweat pouring down his body onto Liu Rushi's snow-white skin.
Liu Rushi held Zhu Zhengyu tightly. Although in her life as a prostitute, the thrusting of a penis inside her vagina was commonplace, sometimes even failing to arouse her, now Zhu Zhengyu's penis evoked a deep sense of love in her. Her psychological desire outweighed the physical temptation, causing her unusual lust to surge rapidly, even leading her to writhe and moan wantonly.
The houseboat on the pond swayed violently despite the lack of wind, ripples spreading across the surface, causing the thin ice to collide with a series of clanging sounds…
※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※ Liu Rushi had thought that she could finally escape her life of prostitution and entrust her life to a loving but unmarried man; but cruel reality often works against the kind and weak.
News of Zhu Zhengyu's secret rendezvous with Liu Rushi quickly reached her mother's ears. Zhu Zhengyu's mother considered her son's behavior utterly disrespectful, and her anger escalated from scolding and cursing to physical punishment, ultimately confining him to the house.
Alas! Men, in their quest to possess a woman they desire, can be utterly audacious, even resorting to illegal and forbidden acts. But once they have their prey, their fickle nature is revealed, and they disregard the woman's affections, leaving many devoted women to suffer the torment of unrequited love. Zhu Zhengyu, too, willingly played the role of a "filial son," heartlessly betraying the vows made in bed.
His lover was gone forever, and Liu Rushi was tormented by unrequited love. After inquiring from various quarters, she finally realized she had misjudged him and misplaced her affections. However, those who are deeply in love are often easily swayed by their emotions. Although Liu Rushi knew of Zhu Zhengyu's infidelity, she still harbored a sliver of hope that he would remember the boundless tenderness of their past lovemaking and change his mind.
Liu Rushi again sent word to Zhu Zhengyu, urging him to visit Bailongtan. Zhu Zhengyu, knowing he was in the wrong, was ashamed to face the woman he had toyed with and abandoned. However, those accustomed to brothels and restaurants are often unable to resist the allure of beauty, and Zhu Zhengyu, steeling himself, went to Bailongtan. As he stepped onto the boathouse, its air thick with familiar fragrance, a surge of lust coursed through his body. But when he peered into the cabin, his carnal desires instantly cooled.
He saw the once captivating beauty he had held in his arms, now standing imposingly before him, a sight that instilled fear in him. On the table lay the seven-stringed zither Liu Rushi had once played for him, and a gleaming sword. Zhu Zhengyu involuntarily took a half-step back, composing himself before entering the cabin.
Liu Rushi stared at him silently. After a long pause, Zhu Zhengyu timidly asked, "Miss Yinglian summoned me here, what is it for?"
Zhu Zhengyu's question was like a cold wind, shattering any remaining illusions Liu Rushi held. Liu Rushi smiled bitterly and said, "I would like to ask you a question, sir: Do you still stand by your vow to grow old with me? Whether
our relationship continues or ends depends on your word!"
Under Liu Rushi's stern gaze, Zhu Zhengyu seemed to shrink considerably. He lowered his head and stammered, "My mother's family rules are very strict, and I am powerless to change them. You should find another way..."
Before Zhu Zhengyu could finish speaking, Liu Rushi suddenly swung her long sword, cleaving the seven-stringed zither in half. Pointing the sword at Zhu Zhengyu, she shouted angrily, "I never expected you to be such a heartless and ungrateful person!" She then threw the sword to the ground, tears streaming down her face.
Liu Rushi's shout and the slash seemed to have exhausted all her strength. She could only sob as she said, "Go, our relationship is like this zither!" She then slumped to the ground, and Zhu Zhengyu, filled with shame and fear, seized the opportunity to flee.
The wounds of being deceived were still bleeding when, to make matters worse, Zhu Zhengyu's mother, seeking to eliminate any future trouble, used her family's influence to pressure Fang Yuegong, the prefect of Songjiang, into fabricating a charge against her regarding her unclear calendar, and expelling her from the boathouse at Bailongtan.
This initial failure in love, coupled with a life of wandering and destitution, plunged Liu Rushi into extreme hardship. Fortunately, her wisdom, knowledge, and clear understanding of reality gave her strength. Even after suffering such heavy blows, she did not lose heart but instead reflected deeply on her past.
This reflection was painful and sorrowful, but it also demonstrated Liu Rushi's courage to face reality. It was with this courage that she emerged from her predicament.
※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※ In the early years of the Chongzhen reign, Chen Zilong became the leader of the Fushe Society and was renowned for his poetry. Chen Zilong and Zhu Zhengyu were both friends of Liu Rushi, but Liu Rushi was infatuated with Zhu Zhengyu at the time. Although Chen Zilong was also interested, he didn't want to steal his friend's affections.
When Chen Zilong saw Zhu Zhengyu leave Liu Rushi like an autumn leaf, his desire to win him over was rekindled. Liu Rushi also admired Chen Zilong's literary talent and courage, and thus, the two old friends became new confidants.
However, Chen Zilong was attracted to Liu Rushi's beauty as much as her talent. In their several years of acquaintance, they only exchanged poems to express their friendship, never having any desire or intention for physical intimacy. Chen Zilong's behavior made Liu Rushi, who was cynical and disillusioned with the world, believe that all men were bad, change her mind considerably, and her affection for him grew stronger day by day.
In the autumn of 1634, Chen Zilong went to Beijing to take the imperial examination. Liu Rushi, unable to contain herself any longer, first expressed her love by writing two farewell poems for him before their parting.
The first poem reads: "I have longed for you endlessly, and the thought of parting has been overwhelming; I do not know the extent of my sorrow, how could I expect to find peace in you? I must speak at this crossroads, my body sinking into the waves; from now on, let us be of mutual understanding, and our bond will naturally deepen." The second poem reads: "The great path is indeed beautiful, we are united in spirit; joy should not be exhausted, how can parting truly be real? The grasses are glad to be there, the tall trees need not be confined. Many thoughts wander far away, when will we discuss chivalry?"
Upon seeing these poems that poured out his true feelings and expressed his expectations, Chen Zilong was overjoyed. He immediately took off the jade pendant hanging from his waist as a parting gift and wrote a farewell poem, promising to "stay together until our hair turns white." With a heart full of joy, he embarked on his journey to Beijing to strive for fame and success.
Chen Zilong, though physically present in the examination hall, was preoccupied with his dreams of romance on the boat, indulging in the pleasures of the beautiful Liu Rushi. Thus, his failure to pass the exam was inevitable. Before the results were even released, Chen Zilong, knowing his fate, hastily left Beijing. Upon returning home, his first stop was the boat to meet the woman who had caused his failure.
They met and confessed their love, their long-standing longing now repaid in full, their affection deepened by physical intimacy.
Liu Rushi, with her eyes tightly closed and brows trembling, displayed a shyness despite her experienced lovemaking. Chen Zilong, without hesitation, kissed her forehead, her eyebrows, and her cheeks; his hands gently caressed her ears and her hair. His lips then traced the alluring curves of her breasts, teasing them. Liu Rushi's lust erupted like a volcano, becoming uncontrollable, and she moaned lasciviously.
Over the years, Liu Rushi had developed into a more mature and alluring woman. Her full breasts stood firm, her slender waist and shapely hips made her movements even more sensual, while the pubic hair between her thighs added an air of mystery, arousing a desire to see more.
With each caress, Liu Rushi and Chen Zilong's lust intensified. When Chen Zilong's hand touched her moist, secret place, they almost simultaneously couldn't resist the urge to experience the pleasure of intercourse. Liu Rushi rolled over and straddled Chen Zilong, almost frantically pressing her lower body against him. With a soft "whoosh!", the pent-up longing of the past four or five years was released in a satisfied "Ahhh!"
Chen Zilong's hands busily rubbed and touched Liu Rushi's thighs, chest, lower abdomen, and buttocks. With each rapid rise and fall of their bodies, Liu Rushi's hair tossed about, her breasts undulating, sweat and vaginal fluids mingling and staining their joined bodies.
Their eyes were tightly closed, as if they were enjoying themselves, or perhaps anticipating more intimacy. They embraced tightly, kissed, and rolled around… everything was so natural. Chen Zilong's erection thrust urgently into Liu Rushi's warm, moist vagina, penetrating and drilling, bringing her to orgasm again and again, higher and higher—climbing towards that endless peak.
※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※ Because Chen Zilong already had a wife, concubines, and two daughters, he and Liu Rushi could only live as secret lovers, residing in seclusion in the South Tower of Songjiang City's South Gate. At that time, it was common for men to have multiple wives and concubines, but for scholars to have illicit affairs with prostitutes was considered less than honorable.
Chen Zilong's grandmother was furious about this and ordered her daughters-in-law to lead a group of women to the South Tower, shouting to drive away the prostitute. This incident hurt Chen Zilong both emotionally and in terms of face, putting him in an extremely awkward position.
In early Chongzhen 8, Chen Zilong had another son, shattering his plans to take a concubine to continue the family line. Liu Rushi, having already experienced the taste of being a concubine, had no intention of becoming one. Thus, a shadow fell over the hearts of the two lovers who had been so deeply in love.
The clear-headed Liu Rushi wrote in a poem: "There's no way to keep him, let him go. There's still a long time to go. He's near, yet sorrow returns." This expressed her complex feelings of being unable to salvage their broken love and being unwilling to part with her lover. The
"long time" Liu Rushi estimated actually arrived soon enough; that summer, the two lovers, who truly loved each other, officially broke up.
Parting is just as difficult as meeting, for Liu Rushi and Chen Zilong shared not only romantic love but also common ideals and interests, making their separation all the more profound. Their longing and sorrow after parting were like an endless river of spring water! Fortunately, both were strong individuals, possessing both tenderness and fortitude, and both found positive ways to fill the emptiness in their hearts after losing love.
Chen Zilong returned home, burying himself in his studies, intending to realize his lofty ambitions through the imperial examinations; Liu Rushi returned to Shengze Town to find her foster mother, Xu Fu, who had taught her how to make a living at the "Ten Rooms Building." Although Liu Rushi and Chen Zilong went their separate ways, their hearts remained connected, and they both wrote many poems to express their deep longing for each other.
Although Liu Rushi regained her position as the leading lady of the "Ten-Room Building," becoming its most renowned courtesan and later even purchasing it from Xu Fu to become its new owner, this was a story for later. A lurking crisis awaited her.
Just as Liu Rushi's beauty, exceptional talent, and unique abilities made her famous throughout Jiangsu and Zhejiang, danger "came seeking fame."
In the eighth year of the Chongzhen Emperor's reign, Xie Libin, a corrupt official and Vice Minister of the Court of Imperial Sacrifices, used his wealth and power to seduce women, and Liu Rushi was no exception. Xie Libin schemed and plotted to possess Liu Rushi, driving her to the brink of illness.
To escape the clutches of this villain, Liu Rushi had no choice but to secretly retreat to Jiaxing to recuperate. But the lecherous man in his sixties relentlessly pursued her. Liu Rushi, a renowned beauty and talented woman, was also a fighter against cunning and wicked men. She first spread rumors in Jiaxing that she was returning to Shengze Town, luring Xie Libin to turn back to Shengze. Meanwhile, Liu Rushi was already on her way to Hangzhou. When Xie Libin realized he had been tricked and hurriedly returned to Hangzhou, the clever Liu Rushi had already calmly ascended the densely forested Hengyun Mountain.
Hengyun Mountain was where Liu Rushi had come alone after parting ways with Chen Zilong to dispel her sorrow. She had stayed in a nunnery on the mountain, immersing herself in Buddhist scriptures, hoping to distract herself from her longing for her lover—a time she could never forget. Today, Liu Rushi sought refuge here, but time had passed and her feelings remained unchanged; Hengyun Mountain had brought her back to those heartbreaking days.
In her poem "Ode to the Cold Willow," she wrote: "The cold tide is hateful, the setting sun is heartless, it is the desolate southern shore, and the wind blows up the lonely shadows of the frosty branches, I still remember the flying catkins of the past. Moreover, as evening comes, the misty waves are hazy, and I see the traveler, his slender waist like a dancer.
All is a kind of desolation, utterly haggard, yet there are still beautiful lines from Yantai. Spring days brew into autumn rain, thinking of past romance, I am secretly saddened. Even if there are flower boats around the embankment, they are all deserted, the water and clouds remain the same. I remember the past, a touch of east wind, separated by several curtains, my brows were full of sorrow. I specially invited the spirit of the plum blossom, in the pale moonlight at dusk, to whisper with her with deep
affection." This poem summarizes the unforgettable love between Liu Rushi and Chen Zilong, with resentment and love, expressed in a subtle and intricate way, with a sigh that evokes deep sorrow in the reader.
The perilous environment honed Liu Rushi's survival skills and experience. She reasoned that although her roundabout tactics had caused Xie Libin to fail repeatedly, he had henchmen everywhere, and a weak woman like her would ultimately be unable to escape his clutches. She also thought that in that autocratic society where power reigned supreme, she needed someone with even greater power to protect her from unforeseen disasters.
In February of the twelfth year of the Chongzhen Emperor's reign, Liu Rushi met Qian Qianyi, a leading figure in the literary world, at a banquet. Liu Rushi immediately realized that this scholar, over sixty years old, was the one who could protect her. After the banquet, the two frequently exchanged poems and essays, admiring each other's talent and knowledge. Qian Qianyi, though old, was young at heart, greatly praising Liu Rushi's poetry, prose, and calligraphy.
During their interactions, this "playboy" couldn't suppress his growing infatuation. However, Qian Qianyi, with his dark complexion and white hair, was unremarkable in appearance, and felt utterly inferior in front of a beautiful young woman. Nevertheless, Qian Qianyi's heart wasn't deterred by his physical limitations. His poems and writings to Liu Rushi were always filled with praise, subtly hinting at his feelings. This was easily discerned by the intelligent Liu Rushi.
Having endured a tumultuous official career and being over sixty, Qian Qianyi was indeed fortunate to have such a confidante. When he accepted Liu Rushi as his concubine, he wrote: "I bought back a thousand pieces of gold's worth of laughter, and banished all the worries of a hundred years of life." His joy is palpable. And Liu Rushi, at the tender age of twenty-three, felt a sense of security, like being under a strong tree, thus both found psychological satisfaction.
This couple, despite their age difference, spent their days and nights together in their new home. Their affection for each other and their shared love of poetry and literature made their union no less blissful than that of newlyweds. The older lover would often gaze adoringly at his beautiful young wife, whispering in Liu Rushi's ear, "I love you? Black hair and white flesh." The clever young wife would reply, "I love you, white hair and bird-like flesh." This was truly the most exquisite love talk between an older husband and a younger wife.
Having experienced the pain of being with the wives and concubines of Zhou Daodeng and Chen Zilong, Liu Rushi was unwilling to encounter Qian Qianyi's wives and concubines again. She first secretly had an affair with Qian Qianyi outside the home, and after more than two months, the two spent a honeymoon together in Suzhou and other places, which lasted for more than a month without a formal wedding. Then, the older lover returned alone to Fushui Villa to prepare for the wedding.
In the summer of the fourteenth year of Chongzhen's reign, Liu Rushi directed a wedding drama that was unprecedented in history. Liu Rushi, who came from a boatwoman background, not only did not shy away from her past experiences, but also asked her white-haired groom to set up a decorated boat on Rongcheng Lake to welcome her.
On that day, gentlemen who had received the wedding invitations and ordinary people who came to offer their congratulations crowded the area. Qian Qianyi, in particular,
seemed to have regained his youthful vigor, beaming with joy. Amidst the cheers and laughter of the crowd along the shore, a brightly decorated boat sailed in from one end of the lake. Suddenly, the sounds of flutes and drums filled the air, and wisps of fragrance wafted through the air. Seated gracefully in the boat was Liu Rushi, like a colorful butterfly amidst a sea of flowers, drawing cheers from the shore.
Unable to contain himself, someone inquired of Qian Qianyi, "May I ask, sir, who is this fairy maiden descended to earth as your bride?"
The groom, blissfully intoxicated, dodged the question, saying, "Please, gentlemen, drink more. As for my new wife, I will introduce her to you all!" Only
when Qian Qianyi boarded the painted boat and welcomed the bride from there onto the decorated boat did he loudly proclaim, "This beautiful woman who will be my wife for a hundred years is none other than the talented and beautiful Liu Rushi, the foremost
artist of Pengshan!" This announcement caused an explosive reaction. The renowned scholar Qian Qianyi, with such an extravagant ceremony and so many high-ranking officials and gentry, was actually marrying a prostitute! The officials and gentry realized they had been completely deceived for attending such a marriage and acknowledging its legitimacy.
The common people added fuel to the fire, laughing and making a ruckus, causing the entire lake to boil. Then, stones and tiles rained down on the decorated boat like locusts. The bride and groom, however, remained unfazed by the commotion and went into the cabin to hold their wedding ceremony. By the time their ceremony was over, the boat was piled high with tiles and stones.
Liu Rushi smiled and said to Qian Qianyi, "Husband, it seems the guests have had their fun. Let's go back!" With that, she started rowing and left, followed by a chorus of shouts.
The marriage of Qian Qianyi and Liu Rushi was a classic example of a talented man and a beautiful woman coming together. Liu Rushi, being a talented woman herself, made them a true couple, united in body and soul.
In their lovemaking, although Qian Qianyi lacked stamina and wasn't very hard, Liu Rushi was always patient and devoted, suppressing her own desire and trying to reach orgasm first with her fingers so that Qian Qianyi could finish by entering her.
Sometimes, when the mood struck him, Qian Qianyi would fight with an almost divine inspiration, leaving Liu Rushi repeatedly thrilled and begging for mercy.

In March of the seventeenth year of the Chongzhen reign (1628), the peasant uprising army led by Li Zicheng captured Beijing. The Chongzhen Emperor fled the Forbidden City in haste and hanged himself at the eastern foot of Coal Mine.
On May 15th, Ma Shiying, the governor of Fengyang, and others enthroned Zhu Yousong, the Chongzhen Emperor's cousin, in Nanjing, establishing the Southern Ming dynasty and changing the era name to Hongguang.
Qian Qianyi was appointed Minister of Rites. On the day the edict was issued, Qian Qianyi and Liu Rushi traveled from Changshu to Nanjing to assume
their posts. While in office, Liu Rushi made friends with like-minded individuals everywhere, tirelessly working among high-ranking officials and ministers, and wholeheartedly supporting her husband in his efforts to restore the Ming dynasty.
Unfortunately, the young emperor was incompetent and power was controlled by treacherous officials like Ma Shiying and Ruan Dacheng. Liu Rushi, despite her fervent patriotism, was powerless to save the crumbling empire.
In May of the second year of the Hongguang reign, the Qing army reached Nanjing. Two to three hundred thousand Southern Ming defenders fled at the mere sight of them, and the Hongguang Emperor, Zhu Yousong, abandoned Nanjing and fled for his life—an event known in history as the "Incident of Yiyou."
Seeing that the Ming Dynasty's fate was sealed, Liu Rushi urged Qian Qianyi to die for his country, a "you die for the country, I die for my husband!" But Qian Qianyi, cowardly and afraid of death, refused to become a martyr for his fallen nation. Liu Rushi hadn't expected that this renowned leader of the Donglin Party would be such a spineless coward. In utter despair, she turned and ran to the lotus pond in the back garden, intending to drown herself, determined to perish with the Ming Dynasty.
Qian Qianyi, anticipating his wife's resolve, chased after her and embraced her tightly. At this moment, a servant returned to report that the Qing army was about to enter the city. Qian Qianyi then instructed the maids to guard his wife well and ensure nothing happened to her. He himself hurriedly went outside the city to represent the Southern Ming regime, kneeling in the rain to welcome the Qing army. Afterwards, Qian Qianyi also presented gold, silver, and about a hundred precious antiques to show his loyalty to his new master.
That autumn, the Qing regime summoned the surrendered Southern Ming officials to Beijing to receive official appointments. On the day of their departure north, all the surrendered officials brought their wives and concubines, except for Liu Rushi, who refused to go. Dressed in bright red, she stood by the roadside, watching with grief and indignation as her husband, who had lost his integrity in his later years, was escorted away by the Qing army.
The Ming emperor's surname was Zhu, and Liu Rushi's red robe symbolized her ambition to overthrow the Qing and restore the Ming. Faced with such a courageous act by a woman, the surrendered officials felt deeply ashamed. Qian Qianyi wished he could disappear into the ground. Overwhelmed with remorse, he wrote the deeply self-reproaching lines, "Wearing crimson robes and trailing brocade, I remain a woman of the capital, shamed even the pheasant-feathered carriages of yesteryear." (Note: "Zhai" refers to the pheasant feathers adorning the carriages of aristocratic women in ancient times; "Zhai Ban" refers to women of the same generation.)
In the third year of the Shunzhi reign, Qian Qianyi, who had served as Vice Minister of Rites for half a year and was a senior official in the History of Ming, claimed illness and returned to his hometown, spending his remaining days in poetry and wine. At this time, he often became angry over things that didn't go his way, complaining, "I'd rather be dead!" Liu Rushi then sarcastically remarked, "You didn't die in the year of Yiyou, but today; isn't it too late?"
During this period, Liu Rushi continued her anti-Qing and pro-Ming activities. To salvage his relationship with his wife, Qian Qianyi adopted a double standard: wearing Qing dynasty attire, he supported his wife's cause, and together they financially supported Huang Yuqi, who was dedicated to anti-Qing and pro-Ming activities.
Later, Huang Yuqi led a rebel army from Zhoushan to attack Changzhou, but was defeated by the powerful Eight Banners army. The Qing court, having discovered Qian Qianyi's involvement, ordered his arrest. Liu Rushi, who was ill at the time, "rose abruptly and, risking her life, followed her husband to Nanjing." Knowing her husband had no hope of survival going alone, she knew she had many old friends in Nanjing who could act on her behalf. Furthermore, Liu Rushi petitioned the government, requesting to die in her husband's place or to die with him. She eventually spent a fortune to save his life.
The 66-year-old Qian Qianyi and the 30-year-old Liu Rushi returned to Qian Qianyi's hometown of Changshu, where they devoted themselves to the anti-Qing and restoration movement. On
May 24th of the third year of the Kangxi Emperor's reign, this enviable and fortunate Qian Qianyi passed away at the age of 85, leaving a dilapidated home to the not-yet-50-year-old Liu Rushi.
After Qian Qianyi's death, the Qian clan, believing Liu Rushi had inherited a large sum of money, led a group led by Qian Chaoding to storm the Banye Hall, demanding three thousand taels of silver from her.
Liu Rushi, grieving the loss of her husband, was unwilling to entangle herself with these thugs. Furthermore, with no hope of restoring the Ming dynasty and her beloved husband gone forever, this extraordinary woman, unwilling to live on, used the excuse of going upstairs to retrieve the silver.
When the thugs realized they had been tricked, they rushed upstairs, opened the door, and found Liu Rushi, still dressed in mourning, had hanged herself.
Liu Rushi's daughter with Qian Qianyi found her mother's suicide note in her desk. The suicide note read: "I have lived in your family for twenty-five years and have never suffered any disrespect. Now, I have been publicly humiliated, and I have no choice but to die. You and your brother should avenge me and plead with your father."
Later, the thugs who drove Liu Rushi to her death were brought to justice for the crime of forcing their mistress to commit suicide during the death of their master!
This extraordinary woman, a beauty in the brothel and a genius in the Hanlin Academy, shone brightly amidst her darkness, displaying strength amidst her tragedy. Her character and courageous actions are comparable to those of many virtuous people, poets, and literary giants, securing her a place in history!
