The Legendary Twins: Fish Playing in the Martial World (Episodes 1-3)

Chapter One

The Valley of Villains in the Kunlun Mountains stretches for over twenty miles, its valleys crisscrossed by ravines and sheer cliffs,
forming a natural maze. Without a proper map, outsiders might wander for ten days or half a month without ever reaching the true
Valley of Villains. Adding to the maze's strange weather, a sudden gust of wind can whip up sand and stones,
obscuring visibility beyond three steps. A clap of thunder can unleash a torrential downpour, only to cease within the time it takes to drink a cup of tea
, followed by a sudden, devastating flash flood, roaring like a stampede of bulls. To enter the Valley of Villains, one must be skilled
and well-prepared; without proper training, one might be killed within a few steps by the sheer power of nature. Furthermore, if
a few soldiers were lying in ambush at strategic points, even an army of 100,000 would be reduced to half-dead and forced to flee in disarray.

Yan Nantian, however, traveled alone, without a map or any belongings, carrying a huge coffin on his shoulder and a
swaddling cloth wrapped around his chest. He reached the true Valley of Evils in just one day.

Everyone imagined the Valley of Evils to be a dark and terrifying place, a hellish place, but little did they know that it was now
ablaze with lights, dazzling like stars in the sky, its splendor resembling a celestial palace.

Under the lights, a stone tablet stood by the roadside, the three large, blood-red characters "Valley of Evils" engraved upon it, with a line of smaller
characters below:

"Enter the valley, enter the valley, a valley like the underworld, the good die, the evil live alone."

The implication was that visitors should extinguish all goodness in their hearts.

Beyond the tablet, a flat, straight bluestone path led directly to the dimly lit area. Under the lamplight, the bluestone
path reflected the light like a mirror, making it even more like the golden brick road of the Heavenly Palace.

As Yan Nantian drew closer, he realized that this Valley of Villains was virtually indistinguishable from any other town in the outside world.
The houses stretched endlessly, numbering at least eight hundred, if not a thousand. Some had ornate eaves and beams, others had broken doors and windows; some had red tiles and
vermilion walls, others thatched roofs; some had willows in front, others had streams behind them.

Yan Nantian had passed through at least three hundred or five hundred such towns, but he had never imagined that Valley of Villains would look like this.

The houses, illuminated by the lights, appeared so quiet and peaceful.

But Yan Nantian knew that the more tranquil and peaceful a place seemed, the more treacherous it was .
Behind each tightly closed door and window, countless eyes were watching him, and countless steel blades were poised to strike.

Gathering his inner energy, Yan Nantian prepared for the impending bloody battle. Even if this place were a dragon's den or a tiger's lair,
it wouldn't instill the slightest fear in him. For the blood feud of his second brother and his wife, and to personally tear apart that wicked
slave Jiang Qin, he would brave mountains of knives and forests of swords, even the deepest hell.

Suddenly, two people approached from the road ahead.

Yan Nantian's palm energy was subtly prepared; he was confident that if they made a move, he could crush their heads with a single strike.

But the two men simply walked past him, passing by without a trace of surprise.

If there was anything unusual, it was that both of them strangely glanced at the giant coffin on Yan Nantian's shoulder, and even
took two steps to the side as they passed.

Anyone seeing someone carrying such a coffin on their shoulder would give them a wide berth.

Yan Nantian's eyes were bloodshot, yet he let the two men walk past him. In an instant, pedestrians
streamed down the road, tall and short, thin and fat, young and old, young women and old women, all passing by him without exception,
glancing only once at the giant coffin on his shoulder before automatically parting ways. One young man even
spat to the side, cursing under his breath.

Apart from that, nothing seemed amiss; it was just like any other ordinary small town.

Yan Nantian's mind was in turmoil, unsure of what to do. He had encountered countless dangers and perplexing situations in his life
, but never before had he felt so panicked.

Just then, the cry of an infant came from the swaddling clothes on his chest. Yan Nantian steadied himself and took a deep breath.

Since he was here, he would make the best of it. Whatever conspiracies or schemes lay ahead, he would face them. Let the winds blow from all directions; he
would remain unmoved. Who could he fear?

Looking to the side, he saw a wine banner, indicating a tavern or inn. The faint aroma of wine and food wafted from it, and Yan Nantian
strode towards it.

It was peak season inside the inn; while not overflowing with guests, there were about ten tables occupied. Yan Nantian
couldn't possibly carry the enormous coffin inside, so he found a shady spot to put it down, called over a waiter at the inn's entrance, tossed him a silver ingot, and instructed
him to keep a close eye on it. The waiter, seeing that the enormous coffin was actually a double-coffin set, probably weighing over a thousand pounds, and that this burly man
had carried it all the way on his shoulders, stood there dumbfounded, holding the silver.

Meanwhile, as Yan Nantian entered the inn, before he could even greet anyone, a chubby, fat man greeted him with a smile
, laughing heartily, "Brother, you've had a long journey, please come in."

Yan Nantian's eyes flashed, he simply grunted in response, and sat down at an empty table.

The fat man, still maintaining his amicable demeanor, followed Yan Nantian, saying, "Before the New Year
, we heard of your feud with the Tang Clan of Sichuan. We've been eagerly awaiting your arrival, but you've kept us waiting until today."

Yan Nantian's heart stirred slightly, but he remained composed, responding calmly and indifferently:
"Is that so?"

The fat man didn't suspect Yan Nantian of being tricked, and continued, "Brother Sima, before you came, we already
regarded you as one of our own. Now that you've arrived in the valley, I naturally want to treat you well. The food in this desolate valley
can't compare to what's available in the outside world, but we have a couple of cups of wine to welcome you and wash away
the dust of your journey."

Yan Nantian thought for a moment and realized that the fat man must have mistaken him for
Sima Yan, the one who killed sixteen Tang Clan disciples a year ago. He secretly thought that the fat man's mistaking him for Sima Yan was a perfect opportunity
to find out the whereabouts of that villain Jiang Qin.

He replied, "In that case, Sima Yan thanks you, brother. I happen to be quite hungry."

The fat man's smile widened, and he waved his hand. A bright-eyed, white-toothed girl in green gracefully
approached. Her clear, bright eyes glanced at Yan Nantian, and she curtsied, saying, "Hello?"

Yan Nantian secretly observed the girl. She was lithe and graceful, with delicate skin. Although her eyes were overly lively, they were clear
and pure. She was clearly just a mischievous and adorable girl. Yan Nantian
would never believe that such a person was an irredeemable villain.

He responded with a "yes" and then instructed, "First, grind some rice porridge for my nephew."

The fat man also laughed heartily, "Brother Sima has come from afar; I'm not in the mood for jokes. Go to the kitchen and order some hot
wine and dishes, then go and cook a bowl of rice porridge for the young master."

The young woman giggled, "What an adorable child..." Her eyes sparkled, and she glanced at Yan Nantian again before
turning away with the grace of a swallow, laughing sweetly.

After the woman left, Yan Nantian glanced around at the other drinkers leisurely sipping wine and conversing in hushed tones.
Some were dressed extravagantly, others simply, and several were clearly scholars with refined manners, reciting
a few lines of erotic poetry when they were in high spirits. He could probably find a dozen or so such people in any town or in any inn; they didn't
look like villains at all. Yan Nantian became even more wary of this Valley of Villains.

As Yan Nantian pondered this, the young woman lifted the curtain of the kitchen and emerged carrying a wooden tray. On the tray were three
hot dishes, two cold dishes, several steamed buns, a pot of hot wine, and two cups.

The food was laid out, but Yan Nantian didn't touch his chopsticks. The fat man, seeing his expression, knew what he was thinking and laughed, saying,
"Brother Sima is indeed a cautious man, but little do I know that I have long admired you. How could I possibly harm you?"

With that, he picked up his chopsticks, ate a bite of each dish, poured himself a cup of wine, and drank it all in one gulp, revealing
the bottom of the cup without saying a word, only smiling at Yan Nantian.

Yan Nantian thought to himself that since the fat man had already identified him as Sima Yan, he probably wouldn't poison him. Not eating would only
arouse suspicion and ruin his plan, so he picked up his chopsticks and began to eat heartily.

Seeing Yan Nantian eating with such gusto, the fat man laughed even harder, saying, "Does this dish suit your taste, brother?
Speaking of which, the chef here is quite famous. Although our shop already has a chef, he was a
renowned figure in the martial arts world back in the day. People in the martial arts world often said that even knowing his dishes were poisonous, they couldn't resist eating them. His culinary
skills were superb, perhaps even surpassing the imperial chefs. Do you know who he is, brother?"

This fat man was quite talkative; without waiting for Yan Nantian's answer, he slapped the table and continued, "It
's none other than Lu Youwei, the 'Heavenly Eater' of the Beggars' Sect. He once poisoned
seven "Old man."

Upon hearing this, Yan Nantian's expression changed drastically, but the fat man laughed again and said, "But today
he's not the one cooking. Although Tian Chixing's culinary skills are high, they are still not as high as the person cooking today. To say that the person cooking today
is that his culinary skills have reached the pinnacle of the mortal realm, he has transcended the ordinary. In the past, people in the martial arts world described his culinary skills by saying that even if he
killed a man's wife, children, and elderly mother in front of them and cooked them into dishes to serve on the table, others would still be unable to resist eating them heartily, because his culinary skills have
reached the point where he can turn human flesh into a delicious dish, making people want to swallow their tongues."

Yan Nantian heard what he said was terrifying, and he didn't dare to put the piece of meat in his hand into his mouth anymore.

The fat man slammed his hand on the table again, saying, "That's right, today's chef is none other than the legendary '
He who doesn't eat human heads,' Li Dazui! But don't worry, Brother Yan, this meat isn't human flesh; it's just wild deer from the mountains, genuine
game."

Yan Nantian was truly shocked upon hearing this, his eyes widening as he exclaimed, "What did you say?!"

The fat man continued laughing, "Brother Yan, you have extraordinary bones and a natural talent. Even a blind man could recognize
you. Do you think Li Dazui is just anyone worthy of his personal cooking?
He's only doing this because he fears Brother Yan's exceptional skills, that he'll detect something amiss in the food. Even though Tianchixing's culinary skills are high, he can't perfectly combine the drug with the flavor
."

Yan Nantian jumped up, roaring angrily, "This food is poisoned?!"

"I've been talking to Brother Yan for so long while waiting for the drug to take effect. But don't worry, Brother Yan,
the drug in this dish is just a sleeping potion; it won't kill you," the fat man laughed, but took several steps back. It seemed
he was still afraid of Yan Nantian's name.

At this moment, Yan Nantian felt a wave of dizziness, his legs went weak, and he almost fell to the ground.
Sure enough, the sleeping potion had taken effect, and its effects were strange. Trying to suppress it with his inner energy only made the dizziness worse.

Yan Nantian glared at the fat man and said, "So you're 'Smiling Dagger' Haha'er! Fifteen years ago, you
killed my master's entire family in one night, just because your junior sister called you a fat pig. I never thought I'd
meet you here today. Very well, very well, today I won't let you off!"

As he spoke, Yan Nantian kicked the table. The pine table, which weighed only a few dozen pounds, was
kicked over by Yan Nantian and flew towards Haha'er, carrying a thunderous sound as if it weighed a thousand pounds.

Haha'er, seeing that Yan Nantian, despite being under the influence of the drug, could still deliver such a powerful kick, paled and
could no longer laugh. He rolled like a ball, dodging the flying table, and roared, "Attack
!"

At his shout, the guests who had been leisurely eating and drinking all drew their weapons. Two simply dressed
men, resembling street laborers, unleashed dozens of hidden weapons like a rainstorm at Yan Nantian.

Yan Nantian simply swung a long bench in front of his chest, and the weapons vanished, all embedded
in the bench. With a forceful movement, he snapped the bench in half, then
flung it away as a weapon. The two men who had launched the weapons couldn't dodge; without even a groan, their heads were smashed by the bench,
blood and brains splattering across the wall behind them.

A richly dressed man lunged forward, and just a few steps away from Yan Nantian, he suddenly flicked his wrist
, sending a finely crafted iron sleeve dart silently hurtling towards Yan Nantian's face. Yan Nantian didn't dodge; instead, he caught the dart with his right hand and threw it back. The dart
pierced the man's body and then shot through the wall more than ten steps behind him, disappearing without a trace. The
sheer strength of his wrist was astonishing.

Only then did Yan Nantian shout, "I don't kill nameless scoundrels! State your names!"

Seeing Yan Nantian's incredible bravery even after being drugged, the others were already intimidated, exchanging glances and hesitating to
step forward.

A man dressed in a tight-fitting outfit, with a pair of sharp claws on his hands, gritted his teeth and roared, "I, Song Wuyong, have come to take
Yan Nantian's dog head!"

Before his words even finished, he had leaped onto a table and pounced on Yan Nantian like a ferocious tiger.

This Song Wuyong, despite his name, was extremely fierce and courageous in battle, even against opponents whose skills were superior to his.
They couldn't withstand his madness and ruthlessness, and all died at his hands. He said he wanted to take Yan Nantian's dog head, but his nickname
was indeed "Mad Dog," because when he fought, he used his nails and teeth without restraint, going completely insane. Those who died at his hands
were all torn to pieces by his sharp claws.

Song Wuyong lunged at Yan Nantian from the table, but suddenly rolled to the ground, closing in on Yan Nantian. His Mad Dog
Claws erupted, seemingly sprouting a dozen hands, attacking from Yan Nantian's lower body towards his throat,
unleashing over a dozen attacks in a single breath.

Yan Nantian, however, only protected the child in his chest, dodging the attack with a swift movement. Song Wuyong didn't even touch the hem of his clothes; in
a blur, Yan Nantian was nowhere to be seen.

Suddenly, Yan Nantian shouted from behind, "Song Wuyong, so it's you, you villain! I've met you today
, and I won't let you live!"

Song Wuyong was shocked and tried to turn around, but Yan Nantian had already punched him in the back. His body flew straight forward,
covering fifteen or sixteen steps from the inn's entrance before landing on the ground. The bones in his chest and back were shattered; he was beyond
dead.

The others dared not linger any longer. With a whistle, they all rushed out of the windows and scattered in all directions.

Haha'er also shouted, "We've neglected Brother Yan today. We'll meet again!"

After saying that, he also leaped out of the door, his plump, round body disappearing in an instant.

Yan Nantian, also enduring the dizziness, dared not chase after them. He glanced around and saw that the inn was either dead or had fled
, leaving only a small girl trembling under a table. He strode over and grabbed her, finding her to be
the green-clad girl who had delivered the food earlier.

Yan Nantian grabbed her collar and angrily asked, "You were the one who brought the food laced with sleeping pills! Tell me clearly
who you are. I don't take in nameless ghosts."

The girl turned pale with fright, trembling and on the verge of tears, and answered in a shaky voice, "I...I...I
'm just a little maid...My father brought me into the Valley of Villains...I didn't know they wanted to harm you..."

Seeing that the girl looked about sixteen or seventeen years old, Yan Nantian couldn't possibly be a heinous villain. He couldn't help but blame
himself for being suspicious. Perhaps she really was just a little girl who knew nothing. He released her and said loudly, "You
don't seem like a villain. I'll let you go today. Don't stay in the Valley of Villains anymore. Go live outside the valley; it'll
be better than this."

The girl in green held back the tears of horror in her eyes and nodded tremblingly.

Just then, a sudden change occurred. The terrified girl suddenly raised her hand, and a cloud of white powder
flew towards Yan Nantian's mouth and nose. Not content with that, she continued to scatter powder in more than a dozen streams, finally pulling
a paper packet from her bosom and pouring it over Yan Nantian's head before
fleeing like a doe.

Yan Nantian, already struggling and exhausted, hadn't expected the girl to use
such a trick against him. He had inadvertently inhaled several mouthfuls of powder, and it was too late to hold his breath.
By the time he brushed aside the powder and was about to kill the green-clad woman, she had already escaped the shop and was standing there, giggling.

Yan Nantian's eyes widened, and he gritted his teeth, shouting, "Fine, fine, you're very good! I never thought that I, a hero of my generation,
would fall into the hands of a little girl like you!"

As he spoke, he took steps towards the shop door, determined to kill this cunning
woman even at the cost of his life.

The girl in green smiled at him, neither answering nor fleeing.

When Yan Nantian was five steps away from the girl, his legs finally gave way, and he half-knelt on the ground. But he refused to
faint, forcing himself to stand up again, taking another step, his eyelids rolled back, and he collapsed to the ground, lifeless
