"Borrowing Seeds by Xiang Wu" - Chapter Seven: My Good Daughter-in-Law, What Do You Think?

It was almost noon when Su Nian woke up. She lazily got out of bed, took a bath, and then dawdled downstairs.
As I passed through the living room, I saw a man who shouldn't be home at this time.
The man sitting on the sofa was wearing a simple blue and white striped shirt with the sleeves rolled up several times, revealing his strong forearms. He wore black trousers with straight legs and held a newspaper in his hand, calmly flipping through it.
Bright sunlight streamed in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating his face and making his profile appear strikingly angular. The man, who already didn't look old, looked even more captivating in this light.
Su Nian was stunned. When he looked up at her, their eyes met and Su Nian almost awkwardly turned her face away, greeting him timidly, "Dad, good morning."
Zhou Yanshen frowned slightly, gave a faint "hmm," and turned back to continue reading the newspaper.
When the maid saw that Su Nian had gotten up, she brought her breakfast to the table.
Su Nian whispered a thank you and quietly began to eat her breakfast.
She married into the Zhou family right after graduation. Zhou Yanshen was already dissatisfied with her, and he was even more displeased with her work after marriage. In order to please him, she gave up the idea of going out to work and turned down all the offers she had.
So now she's no different from a parasite, spending her days tending to the flowers and plants she grows in the yard, reading books, and occasionally going out shopping with friends.
She used to think it wasn't so bad, but now, looking back, she felt a little regretful. She increasingly felt like a parasitic vine, unable to survive without the Zhou family.
Before Su Nian could even get up after breakfast, a deep, magnetic male voice rose behind her, "Come to my study after you finish eating."
Su Nian's back stiffened slightly. She pursed her lips, struggled with her thoughts for a moment, then got up and followed.
Zhou Yanshen's study was the first room on the left on the second floor. Su Nian walked slowly, and by the time she reached the study door, the man had already gone inside.
She couldn't guess what he wanted from her. Every time they did it, it was the three of them together. After getting out of bed, his attitude towards her remained indifferent. Apart from greeting each other, they hardly had any further communication.
Thinking of this, she couldn't help but pinch her palm, take a deep breath, and open the study door.
All she saw was darkness. Before she could even see what was inside, she felt a tightness on her wrist and was pulled inside by a great force before she could even cry out.
After a spin, her back pressed against the hard door, the doorknob digging into her waist and making her wince. The man holding her was very close; she could even feel his breath on her forehead.
Aside from being unable to avoid it in bed, Su Nian had never been this close to any man other than Zhou Cheng before, and her heart was practically leaping out of her throat.
She clutched the hem of her skirt weakly, her voice trembling as she spoke, "Dad... what are you going to do?"
Zhou Yanshen had excellent eyesight and could clearly see the changing expressions on her face even in the dim light—fear, confusion, helplessness, and an innocent look like that of a naive young girl.
He let out a low chuckle, his long, slender fingers lifting her delicate chin, his thin lips stopping just millimeters from hers. "My good daughter-in-law, what do you think?"
