Mr. Born, admiring Katie's sleeping posture before informing her of his decision, said, "Katie, darling, you know it's Thanksgiving today."

She did everything she could, frantically trying to break free of the ropes binding her hands and legs, trying to stand. But it was no use; now she was no different from a bled sow and would soon become meat.
They stood at a distance watching her first roll violently, then slow down, and finally turn into flesh. Her mother didn't see the end and went back to the kitchen to continue preparing.
“Albert and John, help me finish this.”
They helped him flip Katie over like a pig.
Everyone praised her body and her father's work.
They untied her hands and feet, he cut off her head, and then emptied her stomach.
Her mother cooked her and gave her parts to everyone according to her wishes.
