Zhongnanhai Bodyguards 1-4

Since this is the first

time I've replied to a comment, I'll just say what I think. "The Bodyguard from Zhongnanhai" was released in the 1990s, so people at that time were probably right. I wrote this based on the movie synopsis, and I don't want to write anything political; I'm just adding a certain amount of embellishment to the film's content.
This embellishment includes both additional content and some eroticism, mainly referring to Xu Zhengyang and Yang Qian'er. Some comments mentioned Yang Qian'er's personality; you can watch the movie to see for yourself. Ms. Yang is supposed to be a straightforward girl, so why doesn't that fit the description?
Also, let me talk about the topic of "Ah Chan" (I'll mention it later). The terms "Ah Chan" and "Hong Kong scum" are used by ignorant and self-righteous people. After all, more than a decade has passed, and many Chinese people still idolize the West and have a blind sense of superiority. Isn't that another form of "Ah Chan"? In my eyes, anyone who discriminates against other regions or countries and mocks others is an "Ah Chan." Have I made myself clear?
I've also seen many public intellectuals glorifying the West, saying how democratic and open they are. This is actually a kind of "Ah Chan mentality." That's all.
There were quite a few changes, mainly because the romantic relationship between the two main characters was a bit of a disappointment. It was purely platonic, haha, without any physical intimacy, which has been a regret of mine for many years.
The prologue:

Xu Zhengyang is calm and collected, having grown up in Beijing. He later became a member of the Chinese special forces within the State Council's police department
, undergoing rigorous training. He is highly skilled and quick-witted. Due to his outstanding performance, he was selected to protect key Party and government officials in Zhongnanhai, a responsibility of great importance. However, during a live-fire exercise, Zhengyang's overly individualistic behavior offended a certain political figure, resulting in him losing his honorable mission to protect the top leader during his southern tour a month later. Instead, he was reassigned to Hong Kong to assist in protecting a young woman—Yang Qian'er.
Yang Qian'er was educated in France, has a straightforward personality, and works as a teacher at an international school. Her boyfriend, Song Shichang, is the second-generation head of a wealthy Hong Kong business family, who has begun to manage extensive investments in mainland China and has established close family business ties. He is a young and promising individual.
Due to conflicting interests, another wealthy businessman hires an assassin to harm Song, and Yang Qian'er becomes the primary target. During an attack, Qian'er was rescued and became the prosecution's only surviving witness. Besides the Hong Kong police, Song Shichang hired bodyguards from Zhongnanhai to protect his girlfriend.

Chapter One:
Zhongnanhai.
In a conference hall, a high-ranking official in Chinese military uniform was rambling on about the previous exercise. Sitting in the lower row was a man with a crew cut, his thick eyebrows concealing dark, sharp eyes that accentuated his resolute square face. He felt uneasy.
"Could it be—the results of the last exercise are out—I remember a certain politician looking very angry—" He dared not imagine further! "Commander, why did you suddenly call me here? Has the result come out? What is it?" The commander carefully examined Xu Zhengyang, the bodyguard who had
been protecting his superiors for three years, a hint of pity in his eyes. He sighed and said, "Zhengyang, why did you act on your own and disobey orders during the last exercise? Have you forgotten the code of conduct for soldiers?" The commander tapped the table heavily with his four fingers, making a thumping sound, and said to him in a heavy tone, "Obey orders, follow commands." "But the hostages' lives are in imminent danger—" Xu Zhengyang couldn't help but lean forward and ask. "No buts! A soldier's discipline is obedience! You know that? Obedience! If there's a next time, will you still do it this way?" "Yes. I can die, but I can't make a mistake. You told me to do this. I remember the division commander once told us that as bodyguards for Zhongnanhai, we must protect the lives of those involved at all costs. I can die, but I can't make a mistake." "You—" The division commander was clearly furious with Xu Zhengyang's stubbornness. The conversation ended there, the atmosphere extremely tense, and no one said another word. Finally, the division commander broke the awkward silence. "Zhengyang, you should understand that as a bodyguard, you can't afford to make even one mistake," the division commander advised patiently. "But you used such a dangerous and extreme method to carry out the mission. Even if you achieve your goal, it can't be considered right." "Thank you for your guidance, division commander," Xu Zhengyang looked ahead, "I heard that the top leader is about to make a southern tour. I wonder if I will be able to participate?" He looked at the division commander. The division commander looked at him seriously without speaking, which puzzled Xu Zhengyang: "Does the higher-ups think I'm too reckless and are bringing up the last incident to deal with me?" "You're overthinking it, Zheng. You're our best soldier, how could you be left out?" The division commander paused, then continued, "However, before accepting the southern tour mission, you need to go to Hong Kong to carry out a mission first." "Hong Kong?" Xu Zhengyang asked again, "What mission?" The division commander softened his tone, then changed the subject, saying, "On the day you were doing the exercise, a murder occurred in Hong Kong, killing three people, all wealthy young men. Among them, Song Shichang's girlfriend, Yang Qian'er, was almost killed!" Xu Zhengyang didn't care who Song Shichang or Yang Qian'er were. He now knew that the higher-ups were dissatisfied with his performance in the exercise, and the chance of accompanying the commander on the southern tour was very slim. "But Commander, about the bodyguard assignment for the southern tour?" The commander said, "Uh, the main reason I called you here is to assign you a more challenging task, and I hope you can complete it successfully." "What?" Xu Zhengyang asked, his nerves on edge. He had always longed to protect the commander on his southern tour. "Your current task is to protect a girl's safety," the commander said casually, noticing Xu Zhengyang's expression. Xu Zhengyang frowned. "What? Won't that affect my mission to protect the commander on the southern tour?" "I'm telling you, Zheng, there's still some time to prepare for the southern tour, but what's important right now is this mission. This mission is crucial; you can't shirk it, and you can't fail. You know the consequences of being a bodyguard—" "But the commander's southern tour is almost here." Xu Zhengyang thought this was a reasonable excuse. It was a huge temptation for a soldier—what's most important? A soldier's sense of honor. So, for him, accompanying the commander on his southern tour and protecting his safety was exciting just thinking about it! "Well, there's still time. I promised you," the commander said, as if giving Xu Zhengyang a reassurance. "Protect whom?" Xu Zhengyang asked. "Yang Qian'er, the girlfriend of Hong Kong tycoon Song Shichang," the division commander said directly. "The Song family?" Xu Zhengyang muttered to himself. "The Song family you just mentioned? Could it be that Song Shichang's interests clashed with those Hong Kong tycoons, so his girlfriend was used for revenge?" Xu Zhengyang clearly pointed out the problem. "Smart, as expected of our best soldier. That's why I came to you. I don't need to explain; you know what to do." The division commander continued, "As I said before, on the day of your exercise, there was some trouble in Hong Kong that might affect investments on the mainland; Song Shichang's girlfriend, Yang Qian'er, was almost murdered! So Song Shichang came to me. I have some connections with him. Besides, the Song family has greatly helped the country's investments and made contributions. We can't just ignore them; we have to give them something in return." The division commander explained. Xu Zhengyang asked, "So how long do you plan to have me be your bodyguard?" "That depends on how the negotiations with the Song family go. Once they reach an agreement, you can end your mission. Don't worry, it won't affect your southern tour."

-------------------------------------
This morning, Xu Zhengyang woke up to some major news that forced him to rush to Hong Kong.
Sitting on the plane now, recalling the incident,
Xu Zhengyang couldn't help but sigh – it all happened so fast! "What is it?" Xu Zhengyang asked.
"Yang Qian'er's villa in Donghuan was attacked. Hong Kong police have arrived and are investigating. They've assigned people to protect Miss Yang – 24 hours a day," the division commander said calmly and quickly.
"Is Miss Yang alright?"
Xu Zhengyang asked after receiving confirmation. "Looks like I have to go right away." The exit of
Hong Kong airport
was already packed with people. It was bustling with people coming and going!
A short while later, a man emerged from the exit. He appeared to be only 1.75 meters tall, with a buzz cut, looking clean and sharp. He wore a 1990s-style security guard uniform, a red tie, and carried a briefcase. After hailing a taxi, he bent down and got in.
"After all, it's the Song family! They're not stingy at all when buying a house for their woman—they're really generous," Xu Zhengyang thought of Song Shichang, who was standing in front of Yang Qian'er's villa.
Following the address on the paper, Xu Zhengyang arrived at St. Sergius Boulevard, located on Central Road in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
After ringing the doorbell three times, a housekeeper finally opened the door and led Xu Zhengyang inside.
"Excuse me, I'm Xu Zhengyang, a bodyguard from Zhongnanhai sent by Mr. Song Shichang," Xu Zhengyang said to the housekeeper.
"Oh, it's Mr. Xu, please come in," the housekeeper said, opening the door and leading Xu Zhengyang in.
Through the crack in the door, Xu Zhengyang saw a strong-looking policeman. Although he was no longer in uniform, Xu Zhengyang recognized him immediately—his eyes were sharp and wary, and his attitude clearly indicated he was very suspicious of people, especially someone like Xu Zhengyang—
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" The man noticed a gaze observing him and felt inexplicably uncomfortable. He looked around and realized the gaze was coming from the man outside the gate. He hurriedly ran over and asked,
"Oh, it's like this—" Xu Zhengyang briefly introduced himself.
The man smiled slightly after learning Xu Zhengyang was a bodyguard from Zhongnanhai, then his expression changed.
"Why should I believe what you say—is it true or false?"
"I have credentials issued by the State Council." He produced his green booklet as he spoke.
The man looked at it and smiled wryly, "There have been too many similar incidents lately. We have to be extra vigilant; it's truly terrifying. Please understand!"
"It's alright," Xu Zhengyang replied.
After following the housekeeper into the villa, he discovered it was approximately 400 square meters, and with the lawn and parking lot, it was over 600 square meters. He couldn't help but sigh, "It's not simple for rich people to keep women." Xu
Zhengyang and his group crossed a swimming pool, where they saw several police officers conducting a search.
Clearly, the attack on Miss Yang Qian'er had attracted the attention of the local police. This also reflected the Song family's immense influence in Hong Kong.
At midday, under the bright sunlight, a fat man was barbecuing by the pool, accompanied by his henchman.
"A girl coming back from abroad and living in such a big house must be very rich," the fat man said, holding a sausage in one hand and wiping sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief in the other.
His henchman chimed in, "Not only that, I heard her boyfriend is planning to hire bodyguards from Zhongnanhai to protect her."
The fat man scoffed, "Idiot, Zhongnanhai bodyguards? Let me tell you, once he gets here, I'll take him to Chinatown and the Grand Hyatt shopping mall a few times. By then, he won't even remember who his father is. Maybe that'll even help us get through '97 safely. Hehe." "
Hmph, who cares if it's '97 or '98? We'll keep to ourselves and protect our witnesses."
Arriving at the swimming pool on the first floor, several officers were conducting checks. Xu Zhengyang glanced at
them briefly but didn't react. Fatty, however, couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow, early takeover?" This wasn't Fatty's fault; back then, seeing such unusual clothing and the events of a few years ago had instilled fear in Hong Kong people.
His words caused his henchman to spit out the water he had just drunk. Fatty's words reflected the general mentality of Hong Kong people at that time.
The housekeeper had already brought Xu Zhengyang to Fatty's side. "Officer Liang, this comrade said he's taking over and told us not to be afraid."
"Comrade, hello, nice to meet you," Fatty greeted in Cantonese-accented Mandarin. Xu Zhengyang felt sorry for him and quickly said, "You can speak Cantonese. Xu Zhengyang, State Council Security Department."
Xu Zhengyang's serious expression annoyed Fatty Liang. "What proof do you have that you're from the State Council Security Department?" "
Who are you?" Xu Zhengyang retorted.
"Sergeant Liang Jianbo, a Royal Hong Kong Police Officer. Just call me Fatty Bo."
"Where's your identification?"
"What? You want to check my identification? I haven't even checked yours yet, what a joke."
"Please!" Xu Zhengyang maintained his serious expression.
"Please show it to me first, then let's do it together." Seeing this, Fatty Bo had no choice but to retaliate.
After they recognized each other, Xu Zhengyang frowned slightly and asked: Tell me what happened last night?
"Last night, Miss Yang was about to take a bath after relieving herself when she suddenly heard the phone ring. She ran out to answer it. Then she heard a scream—or rather, a cat's meow."
"She was startled, dropped the phone on the ground, and rushed to the bathroom—only to find that her purebred Italian cat was dead in the water." Moreover, according to our findings, it was damaged by an electric shock. We found that Ms. Yang's electrical appliances had been used in her bathroom.
Thinking about what happened last night, Fatty Bo was still a little scared. If something had really happened to Ms. Yang, Fatty Bo would definitely be held responsible.
At this moment, a bespectacled man in a suit and tie walked towards Xu Zhengyang and his group, introduced himself, "This must be Mr. Xu?" After receiving a nod from Xu Zhengyang, the bespectacled man said, "Hello Mr. Xu, I am David, Mr. Song's lawyer. Please come with me."
The two entered the hall, and Xu Zhengyang briefly looked around the room. It was a rather nice room, clean and spotless.
The bespectacled lawyer went straight to the desk on the left side of the hall, where there was a box. He opened it and found it full of cash. He turned to Xu Zhengyang and said, "There is 500,000 here. It's a gift for Mr. Song. He said you can use this money as you like. Please count it."
"Oh, no need." "Xu Zhengyang answered decisively, looking around the hall, listening intently.
"Mr. Xu, then please sign for it." The four-eyed man handed Xu Zhengyang a pen to sign.
Fei Bo and his group came in afterward, and seeing what was happening, they were completely unfamiliar with the situation. The henchman couldn't help but complain, "This Song Shichang is really something, still distinguishing between 'each and the other.'"
"Are you jealous? Envious that he shares money with others but not with you? Blame it on your lack of ability. The medals on his shoulders are enough for you to work your whole life for."
After the lawyer left, Xu Zhengyang didn't hesitate and quickly asked Fei Bo and his group to take him to Yang Qian'er's bathroom. The bathtub had already been cleaned. Xu Zhengyang walked forward and stared at the damaged electrical wires, which were scattered everywhere.
The reasoning was clear: the police arrived immediately after the incident to investigate.
They looked here and there—
not long after, Xu Zhengyang came to a window, pulled back the curtains, and peered outside. Nothing seemed suspicious. But just as he looked away, he spotted a small light in the distant woods!
"It seems someone has been secretly following and investigating Miss Yang. No wonder the ambush was so successful; if it weren't for that blind cat!" Xu Zhengyang thought to himself.
Since entering the bathroom, Fei Bo hadn't heard Xu Zhengyang utter a single word, remaining silent.
"Hey, who are you? How rude of you to touch people's things without asking? I've never seen you before!"
Seeing Xu Zhengyang fiddling with things in the living room, with Fei Bo following behind, Yang Qian'er glared at him. She had just come downstairs.
"Hello! Miss Yang. I'm a bodyguard from Zhongnanhai. Just call me Xu Zhengyang."
"Who sent you?" Yang Qian'er asked sideways.
"It's like this, the division commander sent me to protect you, also at the request of your lover, Song Shichang. So from now on, I'm your bodyguard, and I have a responsibility to protect your safety," Xu Zhengyang said with a smile.
"My boyfriend sent you?" Yang Qian'er pouted.
"Yes."
"I'm safe, get out!" Yang Qian'er's face openly revealed her disgust for Xu Zhengyang. Especially seeing his serious expression, her already bad mood intensified to the extreme.
"You're not safe," Xu Zhengyang smiled.
"Where am I not safe? I'm standing here talking to you all perfectly fine. How can I be unsafe?" Yang Qian'er patted her chest.
"You're not safe anywhere," Xu Zhengyang still smiled. "
Shut up—" Yang Qian'er cursed, "Watch out, I'll tear your mouth apart!"
Xu Zhengyang turned around with a smile, staring at Fei Bo beside him, and calmly said, "Fei Bo, tell the others to all go back. I'll protect them here."
Fei Bo was taken aback, then flew into a rage: "What? What do you mean? What do you take our Hong Kong police for?"
"Oh, right, you should go back too. There are too many people; it's hard to protect them!"
"You—don't push your luck."
Xu Zhengyang ignored him, pacing back and forth. Suddenly, an explosion was heard, and the atmosphere in the room instantly became oppressive.
This terrified the people outside. The first to rush in was the man at the door, shouting, "You fake policeman! I've suspected you for a long time!"
Xu Zhengyang suddenly grabbed Fatty Bo's pistol, pointing it at the man, his face cold and calm. He slowly said, "Brother, I've been watching you for a while. I've been waiting for you to slip up. Your acting is really terrible. Next time you should play a few extra roles before you come out as an assassin."
These words completely enraged the man. At the same time, Fatty Bo was also shocked and quickly reached for his belt. "Huh, where's my gun? Where did it go?"
"It's with me, Fatty Bo," Xu Zhengyang said calmly.
The man who rushed in next changed his expression slightly, then regained his innocent look, looked up at Xu Zhengyang with some confusion, and asked, "Mr. Xu, are you kidding me?"
"You're still pretending? Don't you know how bad your acting is?" Xu Zhengyang looked at Fatty Bo. “I think it shouldn’t be too difficult for Sergeant Fat Bo next to me to confirm whether you are really a police officer.”
Upon hearing this, the man’s expression changed drastically again. Just as he was about to get up, Xu Zhengyang grabbed the butt of his gun and smashed it into his forehead, knocking the man unconscious and causing him to collapse to the ground.
“These days, hitmen—how come they’re getting less and less professional?” Xu Zhengyang thought to himself.
Fat Bo immediately called someone to check the identity of the police officer Xu Zhengyang had knocked out. He immediately broke out in a cold sweat—when he arrived, the man hadn’t followed him. Instead, he suddenly bumped into him from the side, then introduced himself as being from his unit and followed him to give a statement.
Fat Bo hadn’t thought much of it, but who would have thought he was an imposter?
Yang Qian’er looked astonished, unsure of what to say. Especially when Yang Qian’er saw the dangerous weapons such as a dagger and a pistol being pulled from the fallen man, she was somewhat stunned.
“Excuse me, how did you know he was an imposter?” Fat Bo asked gratefully.
The man before him, with a fat head, large ears, and a burly build, had a bloated face. Sweat streamed down his forehead, and his lips were bitten until they were purple. He looked to be in his thirties, and didn't seem to possess any of the imposing presence expected of a sergeant. It was a bit strange how he had gotten to this position. He smiled and said, "Because I'm a professional."
Fat Bo was taken aback, knowing the other man didn't want to hear more, and didn't press further. He was deeply grateful and said, "Thank you." "
No need, it's my job. And do as I just said." Watching the dejected Fat Bo walk away, Fat Bo couldn't bear it and said, "By the way, you should stay; stay and help me." Xu Zhengyang turned to look at Yang Qian'er, who was frozen in place, and smiled, "Now, do you still need someone to protect you?"
