A wonderful dream

A Strange Dream:

Li Shaojie walked down the street,

his mind a complete blank.

What was he doing?

The sunlight was brighter than usual, seemingly elevating and purifying everything.

He felt a heavy weight in his heart, but he didn't know why. Then he found himself
crammed into an elevator with more than a dozen white-collar men and women.

When the light jumped to the eighteenth floor, he involuntarily started walking out.

His footsteps led him to the front door of a building that read "Zhu's Real Estate."

He shook his head, wondering for the first time, "Am I dreaming?" Then he found himself sitting in front of
a thin man of medium build, around fifty years old, wearing gold-rimmed glasses and casually dressed.

The man was looking at his resume and said coldly, "Mr. Li, your work experience is quite extensive—investment companies, grain and oil
import/export, supermarkets, huh! But apart from your first job, which you held for six months, none of the others
lasted more than six months. I'd like to know why."

Li Shaojie realized he was stammering and replied, "There's no particular reason, I just feel that none of them are jobs
I truly like or am suited for."

The man leaned forward slightly, a sly glint in his eyes, and his tone turned cold as he said, "I dislike dishonest
people the most. I happen to know someone from Qiandao Enterprises and inquired about you."

Li Shaojie asked in astonishment, "Then why did you still want to see me?"

The man replied, "Because my friend in Qiandao thinks you have both good looks and intelligence, and are capable of getting
things , so he finds you somewhat interesting."

Li Shaojie asked happily, "Then would you be willing to hire me?"

The man said decisively, "I'm sorry! First of all, I don't like people who lie the first time we meet. Secondly,
you should go home and look in the mirror to see what you look like. Please! I have many things waiting to be done."

Li Shaojie's heart sank, disappearing into a bottomless abyss. After a dizzying moment, he found himself
at home. The television announced the results of the Mark Six lottery draw. One number after another was reported. Then
he woke up and found himself sleeping on the floor.

The telephone rang.

Li Shaojie, wrapped in a bath towel, walked over and picked up the phone, saying, "Who is it?"

His older sister, Li Shaobi, spoke anxiously through the receiver, "Where did you go last night? I called all
night and no one answered."

Li Shaojie subconsciously touched the still throbbing wound on the back of his head, recalling his drunken
folly , and laughed, "Don't worry! I won't commit suicide."

Wasn't once enough? That would be enough for everyone.

Li Shaobi scoffed, "Who would worry you'd commit suicide? I'm calling you to ask you to go for a job interview. You
got fired without even telling me, making me call all the way to Qiandao Lake. How embarrassing!"

Li Shaojie asked curiously, "An interview?"

His older sister said, "You're not nervous at all, so I'm the one worrying for you. I've been
sending out , and I only received a reply yesterday from a company asking you to come for an interview at 2:30 PM sharp. Sigh
! You really need to pull yourself together."

Li Shaojie felt a surge of gratitude, copied down the address, and after listening to his older sister's scolding for a few more minutes, he hung up
the phone . Looking at the shards of glass on the ground, Li Shaojie thought of Wei Bo and Qiu Yi, an overwhelming sense of sorrow welling up within him. He
slumped down, cupping his face in his hands, and cried out to himself, "No! I can't let myself sink like this
!"

As the light spot bounced to the eighteenth floor and stopped, a chill ran through him.

Why did he feel such a sense of déjà vu?

It was as if he had experienced the same scene not long ago, including the people in the elevator—the
woman in red was particularly memorable.

He stepped out of the elevator blankly, looked to his left, and saw a sign that read "Zhu's Real Estate."

His heart pounded, and he felt weak for a moment.

Heavens! I remember now, isn't this the same scene as in my dream?

How could it be such a coincidence?

Recalling last night's events, he quickly tidied his hair and clothes, took a deep breath, and then walked to the door,
ringing the doorbell.

The door opened. Li Shaojie walked to the reception desk facing the main entrance.

The pretty receptionist hung up the phone, asked his purpose, and then asked him to sit down and wait.

Li Shaojie took the opportunity to look around. It was a small company; only two pretty young women were working at a few empty desks, but
the phone kept ringing, indicating business was booming.

"Mr. Li! The boss wants you to come in." Li Shaojie felt a surge of nervousness, stood up, and followed the
receptionist 's directions to the only room in the company.

"Knock knock!"

"Come in!"

Li Shaojie shuddered.

He still remembered that voice.

A person exactly like the man in his dream, dressed in the same clothes, sat in a chair, squinting at him.

Li Shaojie's hair stood on end, and he stiffly sat down in the chair opposite him.

Was he still dreaming?

The man said, "My surname is Zhu. I founded Zhu's Real Estate. I've always worked in real estate companies and have
many clients, so the results are quite good. We'll be moving to a newly purchased shop soon, so we need
fresh blood to develop the business." Li Shaojie was stunned, nodding like a dumbfounded bird.

Mr. Zhu picked up the resume on the table and said as he looked at it, "Mr. Li, your work scope is very broad: investment companies,
grain and oil import and export, freight, supermarkets, hey! But apart from your first job, which you stayed at for half a year,
none of the others lasted more than half a year. I want to know the reason."

Li Shaojie screamed inwardly, "Oh my god! It's here! It's exactly like my dream.

" Mr. Zhu frowned and said, "Mr. Li?"

Li Shaojie coughed and said, "Mr. Zhu... hey! Mr. Zhu, I really want to say that those jobs were not suitable for
me, which is why I didn't stay for long, but I've never known how to lie, so the words just won't come out.
"

Mr. Zhu was slightly taken aback and nodded, "Then tell the truth!"

Li Shaojie said, "Because of problems with my ex-wife, I
haven't been satisfied with my work performance for the past two years. This job change is to try to start afresh.

Oh! I just finalized the divorce with her yesterday, so it won't affect my work mood anymore." As he said
this , a wave of bitterness and sorrow washed over him again.

After examining him carefully for a while, Mr. Zhu's eyes fell on the resume again, and he asked in Mandarin, "Many of our
clients are from mainland China and Taiwan. Can you handle that?"

Li Shaojie was overjoyed, knowing things were looking up, and quickly responded in Mandarin. Then Mr. Zhu
asked a few more questions in his broken English, which Li Shaojie answered one by one.

Having studied business for two years after graduating from high school, he had worked hard on both Mandarin and English, so this was
proving very useful.

Mr. Zhu said with satisfaction, "Your speech is quite eloquent, and your reactions are quick. In our line of work,
besides having a strong portfolio of properties, you also need to be able to read customers' expressions and cater to their preferences. Even if a deal doesn't go through today or
next year, they'll still come back to you the day after.

Alas! The competition in this industry is getting fiercer and fiercer. I originally had eight salespeople, but just when I was trying to expand
, 'Anju Real Estate' got wind of it and deliberately poached them with high salaries and commissions."

He peeked through the glass at the two women outside and sighed, "Only two wild girls left with no one to
take them in. I've offended many and have few friends. Sigh! And I myself have to… cough…"

Li Shaojie, not having time to delve into why he hesitated, exclaimed joyfully, "You're willing to hire me?"

Mr. Zhu nodded, "Yes! If you have nothing else, start work tomorrow. We operate on a district system
, base salary plus commission, three-month probation." He paused, then asked, "Any problems?"

Li Shaojie leaped onto the table, shaking Mr. Zhu's hand tightly, "I'm so grateful! You're like a bubble in my ocean
, an oasis in my desert, a miracle cure for a terminally ill patient, hey!"

Mr. Zhu frowned, looking at his aching hand, unmoved, and said, "I hope I'm not the next one
to fire you!"

Li Shaojie skipped excitedly down the street.

The world suddenly seemed lovely, full of life.

Qiu Yi belonged only to the dark past; he vowed to start anew.

His past despondency and disappointment stemmed mainly from his lingering feelings for Qiu Yi, but now his heart was dead, and he had regained
his fighting spirit and vitality.

Those days had been too long and too terrible.

Feeling so good, should he ask Junhe out to celebrate? He was his only friend left.

Just then, he passed by the betting station.

A blurry memory flashed through his mind, then stopped abruptly. "Ah!" he cried out, his face
changing drastically . Passersby hurriedly moved away, afraid of bumping into a mentally unstable person.

Li Shaojie closed his eyes, stretched out his hands, and made a few grasping motions in the air, hot sweat dripping from his forehead.

Sigh! Why did he only remember one number? In his dream, he clearly heard every single number.

There seemed to be one that was "twenty-four." Li Shaojie clenched his fists and gritted his teeth, rushing into the betting station like a whirlwind.

In the bar.

Junhe, sitting opposite him, was dumbfounded, saying incredulously, "If you hadn't actually found a job,
no one would believe you."

Li Shaojie's eyebrows danced with excitement. He pulled out a large stack of lottery cards, chuckling, "I'll
show I really did have this wonderful precognitive dream. 'Three' and 'twenty-four' are definitely correct.
The others? Heh!" He proudly waved the stack of cards.

Xie Junhe glanced at his watch, his expression grave. "It should be revealed now. Let me check for you." Li Shaojie buried
his face in his hands, silently praying. Unfortunately, he'd forgotten most of the scriptures, only managing
a simple "Namo Amitabha."

Xie Junhe returned from the phone booth, grabbing his shoulder. "My god! There really are 'twenty-four' and
'three'! Quick, check the other numbers!"

The two collapsed backward. Li Shaojie was so disappointed he wanted to cry. Once the opportunity was missed, it would never come back. Why couldn't he concentrate

in his dream ? Junhe muttered, "It's good enough to win a consolation prize! I've never even won a consolation prize." Suddenly, he perked up and reached out to grab Li Shaojie's shoulder, saying, "Go back to sleep. Maybe you'll dream about what will happen tomorrow." Li Shaojie was stunned and said, "These things don't happen every night, do they?" Junhe excitedly said, "How would you know if you don't sleep? I've read a lot of stories in the newspaper about dreams that can predict the future. It's said that before Lincoln was assassinated, he dreamed that he was being assassinated, but he just couldn't escape the disaster!" Li Shaojie stared at him blankly. Junhe continued, "Friend! If you could foresee your fate, even just for one day, you would already possess an invincible weapon. Imagine what the consequences would be if you gambled or speculated in stocks." Li Shaojie let out a breath, panting, "Knowing fate, or perhaps changing fate, heavens! In fact, I've already changed the fate I foresaw in my dream. Zhu's Real Estate wouldn't have hired me." Junhe took out a check from his pocket and handed it to him, saying, "Use this money to pay the rent! Consider it my investment in your superhuman destiny." Li Shaojie said, embarrassed, "Why are you so good to me?" Junhe stuffed the check into his jacket pocket , reminiscing, "Do you remember when a group of burly men wanted to beat me up in Form Three, and you stood up for me and fought alongside me ?" Li Shaojie He said angrily, "As a result, we got beaten up, and when we got back, my older sister scolded us for three days and three nights." Junhe squeezed his shoulder hard and said, "You've been my best friend since childhood. Although I no longer admire you, I can't help but be good to you. Of all the friends I made in my youth, you're the only one left. Now, the people I associate with are just fair-weather friends who make friends for personal gain. It's hard to find the kind of genuine friendship we had. So even though I'm sometimes annoyed by your self-destructive behavior, I still can't bear to ignore you." Li Shaojie said emotionally, "You're truly a guiding light in my sea of life, the head of my marriage counseling center, and a lucky charm for Buddha. Your great kindness..." Junhe laughed and scolded, "You're still exaggerating. Trying to repay a debt of gratitude, huh? Go back to sleep! My success depends entirely on you." Yes! If he wanted to teach that adulterous couple a lesson, he had to make money, and make it quickly and in large amounts. That night, he had a dream. He dreamt he was taking the most difficult, materialistic, and arrogant couple in the world to see over ten real estate developments, enduring their awful behavior. The man even knew about feng shui. In the end, they didn't close a single deal, leaving him only with a belly full of resentment. The next day, he returned to the company, but the boss still hadn't returned, and the two sales clerks he'd seen the day before hadn't shown up either. Only he and the receptionist were sitting opposite each other. "Mr. Li!" Li Shaojie, who was pondering whether he would really encounter the elderly couple from his dream, was startled and looked at the young woman sitting at the reception desk, responsible for opening doors.

Distracted and preoccupied, he hadn't paid attention to anyone until now, when he finally saw the young woman before him clearly.

She was very beautiful, delicate, and especially captivating was her youthful and healthy aura. He really wanted to ask her
to stand up, walk around a couple of times, and take a look.

The young woman coldly handed him a piece of paper, saying, "This is a temporary employee contract. If you've read it and there are no problems, then sign it
! My dad ordered it."

Only then did Li Shaojie realize she was the boss's daughter, and he immediately became respectful.

Miss Zhu didn't seem to have much affection for him, burying herself in her work and ignoring him.

"Hi!" One of the two sales clerks, dressed in fiery red, rushed in, giving Li Shaojie a
flirtatious wink before speaking, "I'm Anna. It's great to have you join our family business. Nida is the boss
's daughter, and I'm the boss's niece. The other one you've met is my cousin, Jenny. Got the information
?"

After giving him another quick, seductive look, she left, leaving behind a trail of fragrance.

While her beauty was slightly inferior to Miss Zhu Nida's, she possessed a captivating allure and knew how to dress; no one could deny
her immense charm.

Li Shaojie felt a slight sense of satisfaction, having regained some of his masculine dignity through Anna. He was glad that women were still
interested , even though he would never trust any woman again—Qiu Yi was the best example.

Nida made a face at Anna's retreating figure, both charming and cute.

The two girls didn't seem to get along well.

Just then, Jenny stepped inside, gave Li Shaojie a curt greeting, and went straight to her desk.

Wearing gold-rimmed glasses, she appeared more dignified than Anna, but her eyes were bright and fiery; it seemed the boss's
assessment of her as a "wild girl," while not entirely accurate, wasn't far off.

She was at least half a head taller than Anna and only slightly shorter than Li Shaojie, who was nearly six feet tall. While not conventionally
beautiful, she possessed a strong personality, which, combined with her height, gave her a proud and outstanding charm.

Especially her long legs, which could make any normal man drool.

Li Shaojie wondered why he hadn't seen anything attractive about them yesterday, even though he was completely blind.

Had he truly broken free from Qiu Yi's invisible emotional lock?

Lost in thought, the boss, Zhu Ming, swept in like a whirlwind, passing by Li Shaojie and arriving between Anna and
Jenny's tables. "Which of you doesn't have clients today?"

Anna asked warily. "Tell me what's going on first."

Jenny replied bluntly, "I'm busy. I already have clients looking at three properties."

Zhu Ming sighed, exasperated. "Luo Geng called me last night, asking me to show him some properties
. I already said I was busy, but you two insisted on having someone accompany him. You even won a lottery once!"

Anna retorted, "Haven't I had enough last time? I don't want to earn this kind of money! Don't mess with me!"

A thought struck Li Shaojie. He hastily signed the temporary contract and walked over, saying, "I'm used to being treated like this. Let
me try!"

Zhu Ming looked him up and down, then hesitated.

Anna and Jenny cheered and jumped up, grabbing their handbags and scattering in all directions.

Zhu Ming and Li Shaojie were left staring at each other in astonishment.

After a while, Zhu Ming said helplessly, "Remember not to offend him. Although he's difficult to please, he's
someone who can afford to speculate on real estate. It's just that they usually won't make
a choice and our properties aren't good enough, so we always end up as dowry girls. Sigh!"

Li Shaojie asked, "That Mr. Luo..."

Zhu Ming chuckled, "Never call him Mr. Luo. His surname isn't Luo, it's Ding, and his name is Ding Guicai.
It's because he always uses a compass to check the feng shui when looking at properties that the real estate agents nicknamed him 'Luo Gengcai,
' understand? Got it?"

Li Shaojie's heart trembled.

My God! Can I really dream about what will happen on the day I arrive every night?

He's no longer an ordinary person, but a fate fighter who transcends a day and a time.

I've decided to change the fate I foresaw in last night's dream.

Li Shaojie dragged his weary body back to the company and sat down in an empty chair, facing
Jenny and Anna who were looking at him with pity.

Their feelings towards him were naturally quite different because of his past act of bravery.

Zhu Ming pushed open the door and walked in, letting out a sigh of relief as if a huge burden had been lifted. He said, "
It doesn't matter if the deal falls through. As long as they don't use the complaint against you to give me a piece of their mind, I'll be grateful."

Li Shaojie asked curiously, "Why do you two seem so afraid of them?"

Zhu Ming sat down in another chair, his tone surprisingly mild. "Luo Gengcai has another nickname
, 'Godfather of Real Estate Speculation.' He's a grandmaster-level figure in the underworld; otherwise, where would he get so much cash to speculate on real estate
?"

Li Shaojie suddenly understood.

Anna said resentfully, "That lecherous uncle loves to get close to people. Even if a deal falls through, he still takes advantage of us.
Just mentioning the pretty girls in his real estate business makes me terrified."

She gave Li Shaojie a particularly flirtatious wink when she said "pretty girls."

A slight smile played on Li Shaojie's lips as he pulled two temporary sales contracts from his pocket and handed them to Zhu Ming, saying, "
Whether he's Luo Gengcai or the godfather of real estate speculation, I've secured two deals for him."

Zhu Ming was stunned for a moment, then took the contracts, opened them, and stared in disbelief, exclaiming, "
Has he changed his ways?"

Anna and Jenny were also dumbfounded, staring at him in disbelief.

A faint gasp of surprise came from outside.

The girl had been eavesdropping on their conversation.

Li Shaojie stood up, casually saying, "I'm tired. Can I leave a little earlier?"

Zhu Ming nodded like a dazed bird.

Li Shaojie walked towards the main entrance, deliberately avoiding looking at Nida, his heart brimming with intense emotions.

If he could foresee the future, he could avoid misfortune and change his fate. One day, he could get
what he wanted, making Qiu Yi regret leaving him.

He wanted revenge.

Revenge on all the bad women.
