Do you want to know the Buddha's thoughts?

There was a young and beautiful girl, born into a wealthy family, with abundant resources and many talents. She lived a very comfortable life, and matchmakers practically wore out her doorstep. However, she didn't want to get married because she felt she hadn't met the boy she truly wanted to marry.
One
day, while relaxing at a temple fair, amidst the throngs of people, she saw a young man. Without needing to say much, the girl felt that this man was the one she had been waiting for.
Unfortunately, the fair was too crowded, and she couldn't reach him. She could only watch helplessly as he disappeared into the crowd.
For
the next two years, the girl searched everywhere for the man, but he seemed to have vanished without a trace.
Every day, the girl prayed to Buddha, hoping to see the man again.
Her sincerity moved Buddha, and Buddha appeared to her.
Buddha
: "Do you want to see that man again?"
Girl
: "Yes! I just want to see him one more time!"
Buddha
: "You must give up everything you have now, including your loving family and happy life." Girl: "I can give it up!"
Buddha : "You must cultivate for five hundred years before you can see him again. Will you regret it?" Girl : "I will not regret it!" So the girl turned into a large stone, lying in the wilderness, enduring over four hundred years of wind and sun, suffering unspeakable hardship. But the girl felt nothing of it; what tormented her was not seeing a single person for over four hundred years, not seeing even a glimmer of hope, which nearly drove her to the brink of collapse. In the final year, a quarrying team came, took a liking to her immense size, and quarried her into a giant stone block, transporting her into the city. They were building a stone bridge, and so the girl became the bridge's railing. On the very first day the bridge was completed, the girl saw the man she had waited five hundred years for! He walked hurriedly, as if in a rush, quickly crossing the center of the bridge. Of course, he didn't notice a stone staring intently at him. The man vanished once more. The Buddha reappeared. Buddha : "Are you satisfied?" Girl : "No! Why? Why am I just a railing on the bridge? If I were laid in the middle of the bridge, I could touch him, I could touch him!" Buddha: " You want to touch him? Then you have to cultivate for another five hundred years!" Girl : "I'm willing!" Buddha : "You've suffered so much, don't you regret it?" Girl: " No regrets!" The girl transformed into a large tree, standing on a busy road. Many people passed by every day, and the girl watched closely every day, but this was even more painful, because countless times she saw someone approaching with hope, only to have her hope shattered countless times. If it weren't for the previous five hundred years of cultivation, the girl would have collapsed long ago! Days passed, and the girl's heart gradually calmed, but she knew he wouldn't appear until the very last day. Another five hundred years passed! On the last day, the girl knew he would come, but her heart no longer fluttered with excitement. He came! He came! He was still wearing his favorite white robe, his face still so handsome. The girl gazed at him intently. This time, he didn't rush past, because it was too hot. He noticed a large tree by the roadside; its dense shade was very inviting. "I'll rest for a while," he thought. He walked to the foot of the tree, leaned against its roots, and gently closed his eyes. He fell asleep. The girl touched him! He was right beside her! But she couldn't tell him about her thousand years of longing. She could only do her best to gather the shade of the tree to shield him from the scorching sun. Ah, a thousand years of tenderness! The man only dozed off for a moment, for he had other matters to attend to. He stood up, brushed the dust off his long robe, and before leaving, he looked back at the great tree, gently stroking its trunk, perhaps to thank it for the coolness it had provided. Then, without looking back, he left! Just as he disappeared from her sight, Buddha reappeared. Buddha : "Do you still want to be his wife? Then you need to cultivate yourself further." The girl calmly interrupted Buddha: "I do want to, but it's unnecessary." Buddha : "Oh?" Girl : "This is already very good. Loving him doesn't necessarily mean being his wife." Buddha : "Oh!" Girl : "Has his current wife suffered like I have?" Buddha nodded slightly. The girl smiled slightly: " I could do it too, but it's unnecessary." At that moment, the girl noticed Buddha sigh slightly, or rather, Buddha let out a soft sigh of relief. The girl was somewhat surprised: "Even Buddha has worries?" A smile bloomed on Buddha's face: " Because this is good. A boy can wait a thousand years less. He has cultivated for two thousand years just to see you once."
