"Sigh!" Seeing You disappear from her sight, Mo Nai sighed, walked to Su Nianchan, and helped her up.
Are you alright?
"It's nothing, thank you!" The girl shook her head, a shy smile appearing on her lips. "You must be Sister Mona, right? I often hear Auntie mention you."
"Yeah?"
Le's mother introduced her to Mo Nai, "This is Su Nianchan, the daughter of Su Qing, my and your father's college classmate. I lost contact with her when we graduated from college. I didn't expect to run into her this time. Since your Aunt Su has something to do, I invited Nianchan to our house as a guest. Nai'er, you have to take good care of her."
"Okay, Mom."
Mo Nai reached out and grasped Su Nianchan's hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Chan'er!"
She pointed to Le Ranxiu, "Sister Chan, this is Xiu. He and the guy who ran upstairs just now are twin brothers. They are a few months older than you. You can call him Brother Xiu."
"Really? So you're twins! No wonder you look so alike! Hello, Brother Xiu." The girl smiled brightly.
"Hmm," the boy nodded without looking up. If it weren't for Mo Nai's sake, he probably wouldn't have even bothered to respond. He had never liked scheming women; women who seemed harmless on the outside were usually quite malicious. This Su Nianchan was probably no ordinary person either, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to so easily fool his very guarded mother.
"Your reaction is too cold, didn't you see Nianchan greet you?" Mo Nai sighed and rubbed his forehead.
However, Le Ranxiu showed no respect and disappeared from everyone's sight.
The atmosphere instantly became awkward.
Su Nianchan's tears fell in a steady stream. "Sister Nai, do Brother You and Brother Xiu both dislike Chan'er?"
"No, that's not true. How could anyone not like someone as adorable as Chan'er?" Father Le gently comforted her.
"But..." Su Nianchan raised her red, tear-filled eyes and looked at Le's father and mother with a wronged expression.
"Sister Zen, don't cry. Xiu and You treat strangers like this. You'll get used to them in the future," Mo Nai gently coaxed, patting her head.
"Really?"
"Of course it's true," Mona nodded affirmatively, then turned to Mr. and Mrs. Le and said, "Mom and Dad, since Sister Chan is staying with us, let her stay next door. That way, we can take care of her."
"Is this alright?" Mother Le hesitated. "Which room is the best..."
"It's alright, Mom, I can go and talk to him." Mo Nai stroked Su Nianchan's hair. "Sister Chan, I'll take you to your room."
“Okay,” Su Nianchan followed behind Mo Nai.
"Sister Nai, you're so pretty! Please take care of me in the future!" After climbing the stairs, Su Nianchan seemed less reserved and winked playfully at Mo Nai.
"Yes, you too."
Upon reaching the third floor, Mona pointed to the last room around the corner. "Sister Chan, this is your room. Is there anything you need? I'll have Aunt Liu prepare some for you."
“No need to trouble yourself, Chan’er has everything she needs.” Su Nianchan shook her head, the image of Le Ranyou’s wicked smile flashing in her mind. Her cheeks flushed, and she tentatively asked, “Sister Nai, are you and Brother You very close?”
"That's natural. My parents are rarely home, and I practically watched Yu and Xiu grow up, so we're quite close."
"I can see that Brother Xiu and Brother You respect Sister a lot. Chan'er is so envious!"
"Give it time, and you'll get to know him too. Zen sister, the first room in this corridor is under construction. That guy has severe mysophobia; nobody except me and You is allowed in."
"Oh, I see. Chan'er will be careful. Sister Nai, where is your room?" Su Nianchan nodded.
“My room is right next to Xiu’s, the one in the middle,” Mona pointed to the bedroom in the middle. “Zen sister, your bedroom is to the right of my room. You can call me if you need anything in the future.”
"Thank you, Sister Nai. So, where does Brother You live?" Su Nianchan asked Le Ranyou with some curiosity.
"Him?" Mo Nai smiled helplessly. "He's always wanted your room, but I already had it, so he had to move to the room opposite Xiu's."
Mo Nai took out the key and pushed open the door to Su Nianchan's bedroom. Suddenly, a basin of cold water was poured down from above.
With a whoosh, Mo Nai's clothes were completely soaked.
Hearing her sister's exclamation, the mischievous Yu Ran came out of her room and saw Mo Nai soaking wet. She frantically ran around in circles, "Sis, it's you!"
He heard that his sister's bedroom next door was going to be taken by the new ugly girl, and he was going to teach her a lesson, but he didn't expect... Thinking of Mo Nai's anger, Le Ranyou felt even more disgusted with Su Nianchan.
"Who else did you think it was, Yu? Why is there water up there? Give me an explanation." Mo Nai glared angrily at the frowning boy.
There's nothing to explain.
"Yu, if I hadn't been walking in front, it would have been Zen who got soaked. Don't you feel uneasy treating a girl who's just arrived like this?"
"Sister, it's all your fault! You know I wanted this room the most, and now you've given the bedroom to a woman who's indecently attractive. How can I not teach her a lesson?" The boy glared at Su Nianchan angrily.
"Even so, you shouldn't play pranks. Sister Zen is a distinguished guest in our family. How rude of you to do this!" Mo Nai was both annoyed and amused that her younger brother had used such a reason.
"Hmph, what kind of distinguished guest is she? Isn't she just a poor wretch trying to freeload at our house? Didn't you see the look in her eyes before? It was like Grandma Liu visiting the Grand View Garden. Sister, she definitely didn't come to our house with good intentions." Le Ranxiu glared at Su Nianchan with dissatisfaction.
"Sister Nai, don't listen to Brother You's nonsense. Chan'er isn't that kind of person." Seeing the boy's disdainful expression, Su Nianchan felt extremely wronged and hurriedly explained.
"Sister Chan, don't cry!" Seeing her heartbroken, Mo Nai felt extremely sorry for her and hugged her tightly to comfort her. "I believe you are not that kind of person. You, apologize to Chan'er."
"I won't apologize!" The boy stubbornly turned his head away, refusing to look into Mo Nai's eyes.
"Yu, apologize," Mona said, her voice rising in anger.
Yu had never seen her sister with such a stern expression before, and she pursed her lips, refusing to speak.
"Yu, you've disappointed me so much!" Mona shook her head painfully. "If you don't apologize to Chan'er today, don't call me 'sister' anymore."
"Sister, you...you actually bullied me because of this outsider! I hate you! I'll never talk to you again!" Le Ranyou glared at Mo Nai, pushed open her bedroom door, and then slammed it shut with a bang.
