He Jiayin frowned. When had she saved his number? Her phone kept ringing, and He Jiayin had no choice but to answer it.
"Hello."
"Jiayin, has my name been displayed yet?"
"Did you save it?"
"Yeah, the one I saved tonight... Where are you now? I miss you." Chen Er said directly.
"Officer Chen, I hope you'll stop harassing me, okay?" He Jiayin said before hanging up the phone.
What a sin... It was a momentary wrong choice that led to unavoidable trouble... He Jiayin opened her phone and used an app to blacklist Chen Er's number.
After buying some delicious food, He Jiayin and He Liusheng returned to the ward and had dinner together. As they chatted and laughed, the doctor walked in.
"How are you feeling?" the doctor asked He Liusheng.
"Hmm, that's good. My stomach is still cold; the medicine hasn't worn off yet."
The doctor nodded and then said to He Jiayin, "Take good care of your father. He recovers quickly from appendicitis surgery."
"Thank you, doctor." He Jiayin replied politely, but she was a little surprised. Isn't it usually the nurses' job to comfort patients? Why was this doctor so enthusiastic? What puzzled her even more was that the doctor always seemed a little unnatural when he looked at her. This feeling wasn't particularly real, but just a woman's intuition.
"You're welcome. Just let me know if you need anything. Oh, my name is Leng Bo, you can call me Dr. Leng," Leng Bo introduced himself.
He Jiayin smiled and nodded in response.
Leng Bo walked out of the ward, wandering around and greeting acquaintances.
"Dr. Leng, are you free after get off work? My mom's birthday is coming up, would you like to come with me to buy her a gift?" The speaker was a pretty young nurse.
“Xiaoman, I’m afraid today isn’t an option. Today is my first wedding anniversary with my wife…” Leng Bo replied, a smile creeping onto his face as he thought about spending another “romantic” evening with his wife. He wasn’t unaware of Jiang Xiaoman’s feelings, nor was he the type to be lustful without the courage. On the contrary, he quite enjoyed the situation of “keeping the home fires burning while having affairs on the side.” He simply knew the principle that the more unattainable something is, the more desirable it becomes. "I...hehe, I'm alright." He Jiayin would never admit such a thing in front of strangers.
"Is he asleep?" Leng Bo asked, glancing at He Liusheng, whose eyes were already closed.
"Mm." Jiayin nodded, then sat back down in her chair and looked at her father.
"What a touching father-daughter relationship. What do you do for a living?" Leng Bo showed no sign of leaving, instead sitting down on an empty hospital bed next to him and starting a conversation.
"Personnel," He Jiayin replied simply, not wanting to have much to say to him.
“Oh, that’s good, you’ve met a lot of people.” Leng Bo interjected. “Well… I’ll go check on the other wards. Just call me if you need anything, I’ll be outside.” This wasn’t Leng Bo’s first time dealing with women, and he could tell that He Jiayin wasn’t interested in chatting.
"Okay, sure." He Jiayin's voice was soft and sweet.
As Leng Bo walked out of the ward, a thought suddenly flashed through his mind. It was rare for the hospital to be without lights; why not test this beautiful woman's limits and see if he could take advantage of her a little? Even if things went wrong, they could always fall out. She didn't seem like the type to hold a grudge… Not bad, not bad. A little something before going home, just an appetizer, haha…
Thinking this, Leng Bo walked back to his private office and began to consider the feasibility. Time ticked by, and half an hour passed, but the hospital still hadn't called. Leng Bo felt that this was God urging him to take action, so he picked up the phone and dialed his wife's number.
"Hello? Honey, I'll be back a little late today. There was a power outage at the hospital, and the director asked me to stay a little longer to take care of things."
