. Wang Hongmin, born in August 1989 in a rural area of Guangchang County, Jiangxi Province, was hired as a bellhop at a star-rated hotel in Shenzhen after graduating from junior high school. On the afternoon of March 18, 2006, around 3 PM, Wang Hongmin sneaked back from work again. As soon as he entered, he dragged Xu Hong, who was taking a nap, into his bedroom. Xu Hong pointed at the sleeping child and said, "Don't do anything rash, the child will wake up and cry." Before she could finish speaking, Wang Hongmin rushed into the kitchen, grabbed a cleaver, pointed it at his chest, and said, "If you don't agree, I'll kill myself in your house right now, then write a will about us and leave it to my uncle. Let's see how you explain that to him!"

This kind of life nearly drove Xu Hong to the brink of collapse. She considered telling her husband, but ultimately didn't dare.
Unable to endure it any longer, her aunt called the police.
On May 19, 2006, at noon, Wang Hongmin returned to work and harassed Xu Hong again, threatening her with her son. This time, Xu Hong resolutely refused, gritting her teeth and telling Wang Hongmin, "Even if I die today, I will never agree again. Get out!" After saying this, Xu Hong rushed to Wang Hongmin's bedroom, grabbed his clothes from the closet, threw them off the balcony, and kicked Wang Hongmin out of her house.
Half an hour later, Xu Hong called her husband, saying she had "an urgent matter to discuss with you." After her husband returned home, Xu Hong told him everything that had happened, and together they reported the incident to the police. Wang Hongmin was arrested that same day.
After analyzing the case, the Xuanwu District Procuratorate of Nanjing City recently decided not to prosecute Wang Hongmin, arguing that the existing evidence was insufficient to establish that his actions constituted rape. It was reported that Xu Hong had ample opportunity to report the three previous instances of inappropriate sexual relations between Wang Hongmin and Xu Hong, but she did not, which to some extent condoned Wang Hongmin's behavior. Furthermore, both parties stated in their testimonies after the incidents that Wang Hongmin would not have succeeded if Xu Hong had firmly refused. Therefore, Wang Hongmin's actions cannot currently be considered rape.
