Although it was only dusk, the bar was already nearly full.

Lin Feng, not sitting in his usual spot, slowly sipped his beer alone.

Thinking back to the unexpected outcome of the bet that morning, he still felt a little dazed, and a smile quietly
crept onto his lips. Actually, he hadn't wanted to come drinking today, but habit had taken hold, and after his routine patrol,
he unconsciously walked in.

Bang! The bar door was pushed open forcefully, the sound of it hitting the wall even lowering the noise inside by several
decibels .

Accompanying the creaking of the spring-loaded blinds was a voice Lin Feng knew all too well:
"A whiskey without ice!"

Every time George pushed open the door, his voice was much more excited than usual, and it sounded more
powerful and imposing. That kind of excitement was something he had never heard in the dirty jokes George told during missions. Lin Feng felt that the thrill of pushing open that door might be greater than the preparations
he made before taking a drunken beauty to a hotel . 　　Both were simply routine tasks. 　　Why this was, Lin Feng hadn't asked, but he knew he'd developed a conditioned reflex to the loud shouts . Sometimes he even wondered if he was hallucinating; otherwise, why would George always yell that in that inexplicably off-key voice? 　　However, clearly he wasn't hallucinating today. George spotted him immediately, sitting closest to the door. "Two drinks!" The shout once again quieted the bar's noise. 　　"You usually hide in the corner, what's gotten into you today?" George slapped Lin Feng's shoulder hard, squeezing himself between Lin Feng and the Kree alien next to him . "What good thing happened to you, kid?" 　　Along with the discomfort in his shoulder, Lin Feng felt a warmth. Don't let George's usual carefree and nonchalant attitude fool you—this guy's keen insight was reserved for his friends. 　　"Shan Huo agreed to go on a date with me." A pleasant smile crept onto Lin Feng's lips. 　　"You've got guts! Cheers to our Galexian ice goddess for falling for a mortal!" George slammed his fist on the table again, this time not just out of discomfort, but Lin Feng even felt that George was venting his anger. 　　Indeed, it was certainly enviable. Shan Huo was the pride of the entire Alpha Squadron, a star of the Galexian Air Force, and before him, he had never heard of any lucky guy who had won the favor of this angel. 　　"You're such a jerk, it makes my teeth itch!" George complained. 　　Lin Feng chuckled, trying to comfort his best friend: "I have to go to a meeting later, so I can't drink with you today." 　　"No way! You have to down at least three drinks before you leave." 　　"Treat me to drinks? At the end of the month, I'll be the one supporting you. Isn't that just passing the buck?" 　　"It's not like this every month." 　　"It's not that different. Speaking of which, you look radiant, all smiles." 　　"Oh, you noticed?" George casually toyed with his glass, leaned closer, and said smugly, "Leona came to see me!" 　　"Yeah, I'm going to see a movie with Shan Huo, so first…" 　　Before Lin Feng could finish, George slammed his hand on the bar: "Two more drinks, please." A high-decibel shout rang out again. 　　Lin Feng couldn't help but shake his head helplessly. She had changed out of her uniform and was wearing an ice- blue sleeveless long dress. The simple cut only accentuated the pure and innocent aura emanating from the young girl. Her chest wasn't particularly large, but in this era where "artificial milk cows" were everywhere, it gave Lin Feng a natural and innocent feeling. 　　A matching light gauze ribbon was simply tied in a bow at the left side of her waist; it wasn't particularly tight, but it already gave her petite waist a certain shape. Her slender figure was the envy of most women. Her ivory-smooth, flawless calves , with their impeccably rounded curves, made her beige flat sandals seem almost superfluous. Her loose, cascading hair swayed gently in the breeze, like willow branches in early spring, instantly filling the surrounding air with a sweet, moist, and delicate fragrance. 　　Although it was the first time Lin Feng had seen Shan Huo in casual clothes outside her uniform, and before he could even appreciate the captivating charm of this pure young woman, he noticed several young men dressed like thugs surrounding Shan Huo, talking amongst themselves. Shan Huo, however, remained focused on a billboard across the street.

In an instant, a surge of intense anger rose in Lin Feng's chest. He wanted nothing more than to rush over and teach
those . However, he knew very well that if Shan Huo intended to stop their harassment,
at least three of them would already need hospital treatment, and the rest would have to see if they were smart enough to run away
quickly enough . The fact that Shan Huo hadn't done so proved that they hadn't crossed her line. In that case, he would
simply let these foolish, ignorant wretches back down.

"What's wrong with me?" Lin Feng muttered to himself after making up his mind. He felt a little surprised—
even when on combat missions, he always maintained composure and restraint when facing dangerous and cunning space pirates
—why would a few thugs make him lose his composure like this?

Lin Feng strode towards Shan Huo, casually pushing aside the boy blocking his way, and smiled apologetically, "I'm so sorry
I'm late."

"Don't say that, I just arrived too." Shan Huo withdrew her gaze from the signboard, gently smoothing her
wind- hair, and smiled slightly at Lin Feng.

In that instant, the world stood still. Lin Feng forgot to breathe, staring blankly at the girl before him.

Her silver-gray hair cascaded to her waist, her bangs parted to the left revealing only a glimpse of her smooth forehead, her
delicate willow-leaf eyebrows exuding a gentle grace, and her almond-shaped eyes sparkling like stars…
