When my wife and I were newlyweds, we lived at her parents' house because of our work. Her house was very large; it was a high-class residence in a military dependents' village, with a small courtyard that encompassed the entire second floor. The first floor had a living room, kitchen, a Japanese-style room, and my parents-in-law's room. My wife and I had our room on the second floor, as did my sister-in-law. She was a sophomore in college that year, and she used the downstairs Japanese-style room almost exclusively. The second floor was mostly used by her family.
