[Fantasy] The Flirtatious Star Official (Complete) - Chapters 34-35 (End)

61. Ruthless

Su Han lay on the bed, somewhat annoyed, watching Feng Liu slowly and methodically put on her clothes.

"Don't go..." His voice sounded almost pleading. Feng Liu glanced back at him.

The guy shamelessly pressed closer, hugging her from behind. Already naked on the bed, this hug, with only a thin layer of clothing separating them, made Feng Liu clearly feel his intense heat.

"Let's go back to Lan Kingdom. I'll protect you, and I'll never let you be in such danger again."

Su Han's tone was full of reluctance, but every word sounded sweeter to Feng Liu than the most beautiful sweet nothings. A smile quietly bloomed on her exquisite face, though the person behind her didn't see it.

The two embraced, the atmosphere unusually gentle.

Just when Su Han thought he had persuaded her, she broke free of his hand, took out a pill from her waist, and swallowed it without hesitation. Su Han tried to stop her, but couldn't, and his face turned pale.

"You!" He was somewhat annoyed, but even more so, he felt heartache. He climbed off the bed naked and carefully embraced her. "How are you? Does it hurt? Baby... how could you do this to yourself!"

"You can't catch a wolf without risking your cub." Feng Liu smiled at him, but the next moment, bright red blood began to appear at the corner of her mouth.

Su Han hurriedly reached out to wipe it, but Feng Liu pushed him away, her expression serious. "Remember what I said, this time it's over, and we'll never have to be apart again, understand?"

As she spoke, the blood at the corner of her mouth deepened, making Su Han's heart pound, his face even more pale than hers.

"Baby, I love you. Whether in the past life or this life, you must remember that."

In that instant, Su Han suddenly felt that he was the happiest man in the world, to be so cherished by such an outstanding woman.

Jiang Bin had arranged everything. He quietly peeked through the window, and Feng Liu gave Su Han one last good look before following Jiang Bin without looking back.

That night was destined to be anything but peaceful. Su Han wasn't the only one who couldn't sleep. In a small house at the edge of the city, after a fierce fight, a man was left lying seriously injured in the courtyard, his eyes filled with resentment as he watched a group of guards carry a woman away with a flourish.

Li Tian gritted his teeth, his clenched fists so tight that his nails dug deep into his palms, yet he felt no pain whatsoever.

"Wei Xi! You forced me to do this! I will destroy your Wei family!"

The flames of revenge that had gradually died down due to the mundane days reignited, and they were unstoppable.

The palace was also not peaceful.

Wei Xi's palace was brightly lit. A group of guards carefully carried a woman to the palace door. Wei Xi eagerly opened the door and took her into his arms.

"How is she?"

The guards' faces were grim. "The Queen is imprisoned in the courtyard, given a 'nerve-softening' drug, and can't move freely, and..."

Upon hearing that Feng Liu had been treated that way, Wei Xi's face instantly darkened.

"The Queen has been poisoned."

Wei Xi was shocked and immediately carried Feng Liu to the palace, carefully placing her on the bed. Only then did he notice that her face was pale, her lips were purple, and there were bright red streaks of blood at the corners of her mouth. His heart sank instantly.

"Quickly, summon the imperial physician!"

a guard hurriedly said. "I ordered someone to summon him a long time ago, he'll be here soon."

Just then, the imperial physician arrived, panting, carrying a box. He was about to bow to Wei Xi when Wei Xi stopped him. "What time is it? Quickly go and see what poison the Queen has been given."

The imperial physician carefully examined Feng Liu's eyes, took her pulse, and carefully examined her mouth.

His face was pale. "This poison...this poison..."

"How is she?! Is there any hope?!" After saying that, Wei Xi seemed to be scared himself, and added fiercely, "If you can't be saved, you won't live either!"

"Your Majesty, this poison is the same as the one used by the late King."

This sentence made Wei Xi's face even paler. "He used it?"

"There's probably no one else in the world but him. Fortunately, the poison is still mild, but it will take some time to cure."

After saying that, he went to the side to write a prescription, and then handed a porcelain bottle to Wei Xi.

"Your Majesty, you can have the Queen take a Blood Ginseng Pill before the decoction."

The imperial physician withdrew to decoct the medicine, and the guards also dispersed, leaving only Wei Xi and Feng Liu in the entire palace. Wei Xi carefully wiped the cold sweat from Feng Liu's forehead.

She seemed to have been unconscious the whole time. Wei Xi looked at her pale and delicate face, and his heart clenched with pain.

Suddenly, his personal bodyguard knelt down behind him and whispered. "Master, he's escaped."

"Hmph!" Wei Xi was somewhat angry. "Keep searching for him. Find him alive or dead."

The guard whispered his orders and was about to leave. Wei Xi added, "That slut's body can't be separated from a man for a moment. You don't need to be polite."

The sinister undertone in her words was still obvious to everyone.

When Feng Liu woke up again, it was already noon. Wei Xi was lying by the bed, looking at the shadow under his eyelashes, as if he hadn't slept all night.

She didn't wake him, but glanced around a few times and found herself lying on the dragon bed. A strange smile appeared on her face, but it came and went

even faster. The next moment, she burst into tears, her expression changing faster than turning the pages of a book.

She cried in a particularly pitiful way, a low, suppressed sob, the kind of sob where she was clearly crying but didn't want anyone to see.

Wei Xi, being a martial artist, naturally heard it immediately. He jumped out of bed and saw Feng Liu sobbing with her face buried in the blanket. He immediately felt sorry for her, carefully pulled back the blanket, and gently comforted her.

"Liu'er, don't cry, Liu'er. What's wrong? Be good, did you suffer some injustice?"

But the more he comforted her, the harder Feng Liu cried.

Wei Xi had no choice but to hold her in his arms, carefully coaxing her, wiping away her tears with his fingers until she was exhausted and could cry no more.

Only then did he gently ask, "Liu'er, did you suffer some injustice outside? Tell me, okay?"

Feng Liu Qin hiccuped, looked back at him with teary eyes, her little face once again showing signs of tears. "I...I..."

She stammered for a long time without being able to say anything. If it were anyone else, Wei Xi would never have been so patient in comforting and enduring it; he probably would have slapped her right then and there.

But who could bear to scold or berate Feng Liu when he held her in his arms? He could only carefully continue to coax her.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here for you. I'll stand up for Liu'er."

Feng Liu seemed to have made a great decision before she slowly spoke. "Xi..."

This "Xi" made Wei Xi almost go limp, his eyes filled with deep affection as he waited for her to continue.

"I'm no longer a virgin, I... I'm not good enough for you... Forget me!"

These words plunged Wei Xi from heaven to hell. Actually, Wei Xi was a meticulous person. Last night, when he was wiping Feng Liu's sweat, he noticed several ambiguous red marks on her neck. He was no longer a novice in bed, so he could naturally tell what they were. However, at the time, he forced himself not to think about it.

But now that Feng Liu had confessed to him personally, he couldn't pretend not to know anymore. His face turned from pale to dark, quite a sight. But in the end, he still held his breath and asked Feng Liu in a calm tone.

"Did he force you?"

Upon hearing this, Feng Liu's eyes reddened, and she was about to cry again. Wei Xi quickly pulled her into his arms and patted her.

"Liu'er, be good, I won't ask anymore, don't cry, don't cry..."

After thinking for a moment, he added, "Liu'er, you must remember, you are the only Queen of Wei. I will never let the person who hurt Liu'er get away with it."

Feng Liu buried her face in his chest, moved. Wei Xi held her gently, as if they were pouring out their hearts to each other.

62. You and I are just cooperating.

Wei Xi had only recently ascended the throne, and there were still many things to deal with in the court. Especially after the wedding, he was busy searching for Feng Liu's whereabouts, and the affairs of state had been almost neglected.

Now that Feng Liu had returned to the palace, she only needed to rest and recuperate, and Wei Xi naturally had to go back to handle state affairs.

However, not long after he left, a small bamboo stick flew onto Feng Liu's bed. She picked it up and crushed it, pulled out a slip of paper inside, which contained a list. Feng Liu read it, memorized it, and then burned it.

A look of helplessness mixed with happiness crossed her face. That idiot Su Han had gone to such lengths to transfer all thirty of the secret guards she had trained to her command. However, she realized she had underestimated him; he had managed to plant thirty secret guards in the Wei King's palace so discreetly.

Feng Liu lay on the bed, gently covering her eyes with her hand, smiling with her eyes closed, appearing incredibly comfortable and happy.

She had almost forgotten that Su Han had always been closely following her, always eager to surpass her. His methods were no less than hers; she just wanted to do something for him.

But now, the matter in Lan Kingdom was resolved, and Su Han had transferred so many secret guards—did it mean he was going to intervene?

That guy! She smiled again as she thought about it. What a chauvinist! He just wouldn't admit defeat to a woman? Perhaps more than that, thinking of Su Han's hesitant expression when he saw her.

Feng Liu couldn't help but cover her mouth and laugh out loud. That idiot was probably worried about what Wei Xi would do to her. After all, she and Wei Xi had a proper wedding ceremony. No wonder she was so eager to interfere; she was so disobedient.

In the afternoon, Wei Xi was reviewing memorials in his study when a guard suddenly knelt before him and whispered, "Master, it has been found out."

"Speak!" Wei Xi put down his pen and looked up at the guard.

"Only through intercourse can one be poisoned. The poison takes effect after three days, and after seven days, there is no cure."

Wei Xi's heart sank, and his tightly clenched fists turned white. So, Liu'er's innocence had indeed been ruined by that guy!

What was most hateful was that he had even poisoned her. If the guards hadn't been lucky enough to save Liu'er, would she have died like this?

Unexpectedly, the old eunuch's words came to mind. He said he would make her lose her beloved and suffer a fate worse than death.

That's why he attacked Liu'er, even kidnapping his queen on their wedding night. This immense humiliation made Wei Xi's face turn ashen with rage. If he didn't seek justice from Li Tian in this lifetime, he feared he would die with a guilty conscience before his ancestors.

After dismissing the guards, Wei Xi rose from his dragon throne, walked to the window, and gazed at the sky for a while. "Father, I will send Li Tian to keep you company."

He summoned Ze'an and whispered instructions in his ear for a long time. Ze'an nodded and left.

The next day, notices were posted throughout the city, featuring a handsome man and even a brief introduction. Many older people still vaguely remembered how the Ghost Doctor Li Tian had once roamed the martial arts world. The notices stated that the Ghost Doctor Li Tian had bewitched

the King of Wei with his beauty, wreaked havoc on the kingdom, and poisoned the King. Now that the King of Wei was dead, this demon would be captured to avenge the King. A reward of a thousand taels of silver would be given for information leading to his capture, and ten thousand taels of gold for his execution.

The exorbitant reward caused a stir throughout the entire capital. Passersby stared intently, scrutinizing anyone who bore even a slight resemblance to Li Tian. They were eager to see him immediately, capture him, and claim the reward, even forgetting that he was a notorious and enigmatic figure in the martial world, possessing unpredictable and ever-changing poison skills. Li Tian,

without even leaving his home, heard the news, and his information was even more detailed. Besides the notices plastered throughout the streets, a pamphlet had recently become popular in the capital, filled with lewd and obscene language, describing Li Tian's seduction of Prince Wei.

Almost every young nobleman in the capital had a copy, and they even circulated it among themselves. The intimate secrets of Li Tian and Prince Wei had become the hottest gossip in the brothels.

Li Tian, in his anger, suffered a stroke and, instead of taking the medicine, vomited blood again.

The person beside him immediately supported him, wiping the blood from his lips with their sleeve. Looking at his pale face, a sickly beauty was even more apparent, his eyes shining like starlight, truly captivating.

Li Tian showed no gratitude for the help, rudely pushing the person away. "Don't touch me,"

the other person said, not angry, forcing a smile to coax him, "Don't be angry, don't be angry. If you don't like it, I'll have all the books searched and burned."

"What's the use of burning them? Can you control their mouths!" Li Tian roared.

Two alluring blushes rose on his pale cheeks from anger, making him even more beautiful, like a fairy. The man's breathing quickened immediately, and he pulled him into his arms, grabbing his chin and kissing him.

Li Tian raised his right hand, pointing a poisoned needle at the man's throat, his voice as cold as a venomous snake.

"General Zhao, let go if you don't want to die."

The man surnamed Zhao chuckled dryly, releasing his grip on Li Tian's jaw. Before leaving, he rubbed his lips against Li Tian's pale lips. Li Tian pushed him away with disgust, vigorously rubbing his own lips. After his vigorous rubbing, his pale lips even regained some color, making

them look even more beautiful. General Zhao's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets, almost forgetting how to breathe.

Perhaps if he kept staring like that, he might suffocate himself, but clearly, fate didn't want him to die such a pathetic death. Li Tian, overcome with rage, coughed again.

General Zhao finally remembered what he had to do, quickly picking up the medicine bowl on the bedside table. The medicine inside was still warm. After Li Tian finished coughing, he slowly scooped up a spoonful and fed it to him. Li Tian turned his head away in disgust.

"Didn't you want revenge? How will you get better if you don't drink your medicine?" It was rare to see the fierce and ruthless General Zhao so gently coaxing someone to drink medicine, but the guy being coaxed was completely unmoved.

He glared at him angrily and held out his hand. "I'll drink it myself."

The general wasn't angry at all; instead, he smiled and handed over the bowl, "Be careful, it'll burn your mouth."

The guards outside were already used to this. Ever since the day the general suddenly received a secret letter, he had been overjoyed and had gathered a team of guards, then rushed to the capital. Everyone speculated that it was because the new king had ascended the throne and was preparing to reward the general, but they had never seen the general so moved when the previous king had rewarded him. When

they arrived at the capital, the general, holding a map, wandered through the winding alleys and entered the small courtyard. Upon seeing this man, he immediately became a different person.

That handsome, imposing face, usually filled with menacing aura, instantly transformed into a fawning, silly grin. He was constantly being scolded, yet he happily ran errands for the other man, even appearing excited when being reprimanded.

The guards could only look on with resentment, but dared not utter a word.

Li Tiancai, however, paid no heed to Zhao Chenggang's silly grin; he remained cold and aloof. "General, please have some self-respect. We are merely business partners. I want Wei Xi's life; you want the throne of the King of Wei."

63. Like a snipe and a clam fighting, Fengliu

lay in bed, openly playing the role of a sick man, with a newly arrived secret letter at his side.

It contained some incredible news: General Zhao Chenggang, the Duke of Dingguo, who had been stationed in the north, had secretly arrived in the capital, and his 100,000 troops were even secretly gathering.

Wei Xi had only just ascended the throne, and this guy couldn't resist stirring up trouble? It was obvious he wanted to usurp the

throne. However, after reading further, Fengliu was immediately delighted. That Zhao Chenggang was actually hanging out with Li Tian! Fengliu stroked his chin and smiled. That Li Tian was truly a femme fatale; he seemed to attract only men.

But that was fine; he wouldn't have to help him secretly anymore. This battle now seemed evenly matched, but judging from the situation, Wei Xi was most likely to lose; he had been too arrogant and overconfident.

Wei Xi, of course, had also noticed this. The secret gathering of 100,000 troops was no small matter.

"Smack!" Wei Xi flung the secret report away, then carefully picked it up, trembling with fear. "Your Majesty, please don't be angry. There's still a chance."

"What chance?!" Wei Xi roared.

"I've been in the palace for a long time and have heard some palace secrets. It's said that the Emperor Emeritus and General Zhao went on a private trip together and were both saved by the Ghost Doctor. It's also said that General Zhao was infatuated with Li Tian, but the Emperor Emeritus was too possessive, so he sent General Zhao to guard the border."

Wei Xi listened calmly, his face growing even uglier. "You mean, Zhao Chenggang's mutiny was instigated by Li Tian?"

"I think it's possible..."

But Wei Xi was even angrier. Li Tian had first stolen all his father's attention, then snatched his beloved on their wedding night, and even insulted her. Now, even his throne was in jeopardy.

He would never forgive Li Tian! Enraged to the extreme, he became even calmer.

"Li Tian has been injured by the secret guards and will certainly not escape the capital. I must eliminate him before Zhao Chenggang's army arrives."

Ze'an nodded hurriedly, then asked in a low voice, "Should we gather troops?"

"Have Generals Luo and Zhang secretly return to the capital and prepare their troops for battle."

Wei Xi hesitated for a moment, then added, "How many Imperial Guards are there?"

"Less than ten thousand."

"Give the order first and prepare for battle."

Ze'an gave the order and quickly left. Wei Xi rubbed his head, feeling overwhelmed by the sheer volume of things to do.

He had originally thought that after his coronation and wedding, he could not only be with his beloved woman but also seize control of the Lan Kingdom's power. However, Li Tian's appearance had ruined all his plans. Moreover, after what happened to Liu'er, Wei Xi didn't even dare let the Lan Kingdom know that their princess had been kidnapped on her wedding night and even assaulted and poisoned.

It was widely known that Su Han doted on his daughter, and if he found out, the Lan Kingdom would likely be the first to attack.

Wei Xi frowned in distress, and could only turn his attention to several high-ranking officials and generals with considerable military power. Although he had ascended the throne, King Wei had neglected state affairs for many years due to his pursuit of Li Tian. Although he had been learning to handle political affairs, he lacked real power.

That power was now concentrated in the hands of a few officials. To secure his throne, he had to bow to them. With their support, Zhao Chenggang's 100,000-strong army would be no match for him.

With this in mind, Wei Xi began to make arrangements. Less than half a month after the grand wedding, the new king married and conferred titles upon several concubines. These concubines were all of considerable status. Although the wedding ceremony was far less grand than the queen's and seemed somewhat rushed, Wei Xi spent this time lingering in the newlyweds' palace.

Yet, the opportunistic women in the harem still believed that since the Queen was captured and lost her virginity, she had been banished to the Cold Palace by the King of Wei, and these new concubines were the best evidence.

As Feng Liu leaned against the soft couch eating pastries, two maids beside her wept uncontrollably, seemingly oblivious, even stretching and yawning.

"Your Majesty, aren't you worried at all?!"

Feng Liu asked in surprise. "Worried about what?"

"It's just...it's just..." She couldn't bring herself to say the words "disfavored.

" "Which king doesn't have three thousand beauties in his harem? What's there for me to be jealous of?"

one of the maids retorted. "But Your Majesty's father, His Majesty the King of Han, has always had an empty harem."

Feng Liu raised an eyebrow, a faint smile appearing on her face. She was already exceptionally beautiful, and this smile made her even more stunning, her beauty captivating and mesmerizing.

The change of ruler in Lan Kingdom was a major event, in a sense. More than half of the court officials were replaced, a veritable purge. Yet, it was also relatively minor, as the common people were largely unaffected. In fact, many of the new king's decrees were entirely beneficial to them, and everyone welcomed them.

Life in the palace had been monotonous for years, and everyone felt a bit lonely. Naturally, they enjoyed spreading rumors in private for amusement, even knowing bits and pieces about the private affairs of other countries.

For example, today's topic was about Lan Kingdom's new king, King Han, and the young palace maids seemed quite excited.

"I also heard that King Han announced to Lan Kingdom's high-ranking officials that his harem will only ever have one queen, and only one."

These girls, at an age of budding romance and sentimentality, increasingly admired and revered King Han.

Some even asked, "Your Majesty, is His Majesty the Prince of Han very close to your mother? I heard that he hasn't remarried since her passing, and many consider him the most devoted lover in the world."

The most devoted lover in the world? Feng Liu smiled slightly. Although she had never met the woman who gave birth to her, based on her understanding of Su Han, she knew he wouldn't like that princess; he probably only married her for power.

She heard that back then, Prince Lan, in order to win over the Right Prime Minister and fearing that the Right Prime Minister's power would grow uncontrollable, arranged for Su Han to marry her, and for the then Crown Prince, Su Ling, to marry the only daughter of another general, firmly grasping military power and suppressing the Right Prime Minister.

How could Su Han possibly fall in love with such a marriage based on self-interest? Besides, that fool—she had acted so admirably back then, pursuing him with all her might for so long, and he hadn't even noticed. He was completely oblivious.

So, she simply smiled and remained silent. This appearance only fueled the maids' wildest imaginations.

Feng Liu, with her eyes closed, wasn't thinking about the so-called most devoted lover in the world, but rather calmly analyzing Wei Xi's recent situation. Although she made no move, she firmly controlled the confrontation between the two sides.

Wei Xi had indeed gained the support of several senior officials in court by appointing concubines, which seemed to be very advantageous. However, Feng Liu knew that the tens of thousands of troops he could mobilize were all located on the border with Lan Kingdom. A round trip would take at least a month, and she had already arranged for Lan Kingdom's army to attack as soon as Wei Xi's troops moved.

Zhao Chenggang's 100,000-strong army was said to have already crossed the central mountains and would arrive at the capital in about half a month. Judging by the time, Wei Xi simply couldn't make it in time. Even with all his imperial guards gathered, he only had about 10,000 men.

Holding out for half a month while waiting for rescue is probably impossible. Wei Xi must have other methods, but after much thought, Feng Liu felt that the only option Wei Xi could currently use was to seek help from the Lan Kingdom. However, Wei Xi was unlikely to do this because he was too arrogant and conceited, and besides, he certainly didn't want Su Han to know about his past.

Therefore, the only thing Wei Xi could do was search the capital, find Empress Li Tianran, and kill her.

Wei Xi had been very busy lately, squeezing out his limited time for his newly appointed concubines. To show his favor and to use this opportunity to win over officials, he hadn't visited the Queen's Phoenix Palace in a long time.

The palace maids and servants who used to fawn over him hadn't come for a while, so Feng Liu was quite at ease. He only had six maids around him, which was much quieter than before, but more suitable for coming and going.

After dark, the secret guards kept bringing the latest intelligence.

64. Another

seven or eight days passed, and the atmosphere in the palace grew increasingly tense. Rumors, seemingly from nowhere, spread that General Zhao, the Duke of Dingguo, was leading an army of 100,000 to besiege the capital. Panic gripped the palace.

Even in Fengliu's palace, whispers of the gossip reached them. Several of her personal maids grew timid, their faces constantly clouded with worry, their minds often wandering. Fengliu had to offer words of comfort.

"What are you worried about? The King

should be the one worried." "But what if they really do storm the palace…"

Fengliu sat up helplessly. "General Zhao only wants the throne. What does that have to do with you little palace maids? Does the change of king mean the palace won't need servants anymore?"

The maids agreed, their tension easing considerably, but then their brows furrowed again.

"We're alright now, but what about the Queen?"

Before, they all thought that if there was any danger, the King would definitely take the Queen with him, and the Queen's safety would be assured. But now, they didn't think so. Since their wedding, the King had never stayed overnight at the Phoenix Palace; even when he came, he only stayed for a short while. They

'd also heard from the maids outside that the King had recently taken a liking to Consort Xue, having summoned her for seven consecutive days.

Presumably, the King had grown tired of the Queen, and with the persistent rumors of her loss of chastity in the palace, they couldn't help but be concerned. Yet their mistress seemed oblivious, eating and drinking well every day.

Fengliu had been confined in the Wei King's palace like a cripple for several months, but it wasn't without its benefits. For example, she had developed a close relationship with the maids who served her personally, and now they were worried about her safety.

"Don't worry about it. I'm the daughter of the King of Lan, after all. If they hurt me, wouldn't they be declaring war on Lan?"

Hearing this, the maids breathed a sigh of relief. They were all quite young, and once they felt reassured, they acted as if nothing had happened and happily chatted and laughed again.

However, the tense atmosphere quickly spread throughout the Wei King's palace.

Fengliu's secret reports arrived daily; she clearly knew the every move of Zhao Chenggang's 100,000-strong army, even their entire route and locations. In about three days, they would be at the city gates.

As for the two armies that Wei Xi was relying on, even traveling day and night, it would probably take at least half a month to arrive. The outcome of this battle was already becoming clear. Fengliu was now waiting to see Wei Xi, in his desperate gamble, make a last-ditch effort.

Wei Xi was indeed in a panic. He swept all the memorials in the imperial study onto the floor, smashed several decorative vases and other objects to pieces, and paced back and forth, dark circles under his eyes, clearly indicating he hadn't slept well for days.

Ze'an stood by, watching him vent his anger with some heartache, until there was nothing left to smash in the entire room. Only then did Wei Xi stop, panting and somewhat dazed amidst the mess.

"Your Majesty, don't ruin your health with anger."

Unexpectedly, he laughed out loud, "Wouldn't it be better if I died?"

"What are you saying?" Ze'an thought he had gone mad and quickly went to his side. "We haven't reached the end of the road yet, how can you make such a rash judgment?"

"The army is about to besiege the city, how can I not be anxious!"

Ze'an couldn't help but sigh upon hearing this. How could he not know? He had even heard rumors in the harem that many palace maids were secretly crying, fearing that the army would storm the palace and commit arson, murder, and looting, making survival a question.

Having no other choice, Ze'an could only speak up. "Your Majesty, why don't you go and find the Queen?"

In the entire palace, the only one Ze'an addressed as "Queen" was not the recently favored Consort Xue, but rather the Queen Liu, whom everyone suspected had fallen out of favor.

"Liu'er? What can she do? Even if we send troops from Lan Kingdom, it's too late."

"The Queen is exceptionally intelligent. When she was captured by the Prince of Ling a thousand miles away, she managed to evade him all the way. And when she was surrounded in the valley, she only needed a few words to repel the enemy. I'm afraid only the Queen can turn the tide this time."

Wei Xi's heart stirred upon hearing this. Back in the canyon, he had personally witnessed how Su Liu had persuaded Su Jingxin to withdraw his troops with just a few words, and he had thought then that this woman was quick-witted and eloquent. Hearing Ze'an's words again, a thought suddenly occurred to him.

Feng Liu was lying on a soft couch reading a book, while several maids did needlework nearby, occasionally exchanging a few words. There was no distinction of rank among them; they were as close as sisters. Wei Xi, having important business to ask of Feng Liu, only took Ze'an and quietly went to the Phoenix Palace.

He tried to avoid the guards along the way. When he arrived at the palace, he saw several women sitting together laughing and joking under the shade of the trees in the garden. Wei Xi's mood, which had been heavy for many days, gradually eased with their lighthearted laughter.

Just as he approached, one of the maids noticed him. She was startled, then immediately pulled the others to kneel down. Only then did everyone realize that the King Wei had arrived. In fact, Feng Liu had noticed him the moment he stepped into the courtyard, but had deliberately pretended not to know.

Only after everyone had bowed did they turn around in surprise, "Why does Your Majesty have time to come today?"

This seemingly ordinary greeting sounded more like a complaint born of loneliness in the harem, making Wei Xi feel somewhat ashamed. He dismissed the maids and ordered Ze'an to guard the entrance of the palace.

Only then did he somewhat impatiently grab Feng Liu's small hand, "Liu'er, are you blaming me?"

"How could Liu'er dare?" Feng Liu tried to pull her hand away without showing any emotion, but Wei Xi held it firmly.

Wei Xi actually sighed and complained to Feng Liu, "Liu'er doesn't know, that Duke Dingguo is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He actually brought an army of 100,000 to force the palace and is about to besiege the city. Although I issued an edict to send troops back to rescue us, I'm afraid that they won't be able to make it in time, alas..." He sighed seriously.

Feng Liu remained silent, frowning and pretending to be worried as well.

Wei Xi reached out and gently patted her hand. "Liu'er, don't be afraid. Even if they break through the city and attack, I will find a way to protect you."

To Feng Liu, these words sounded strangely sarcastic. She deliberately pulled her hand back, slightly displeased. "Oh? I'm afraid you have too many beauties around you, and you can't attend to them all for a while."

"Is Liu'er jealous?" Wei Xi said, a hint of joy in his voice.

He smiled and pulled Feng Liu into his arms. "Father has neglected state affairs for too long, and the power in the court is controlled by several important ministers and generals. I had no choice but to do this, to make them imperial relatives and promise them wealth and honor, so that they would work diligently for me."

Fengliu silently raised an eyebrow in his arms, remaining silent. Wei Xi assumed she was still a little angry and lowered his head to kiss her again. Fengliu quickly turned her head away, but Wei Xi seemed somewhat moved, his voice unconsciously becoming a little hoarse.

"Liu'er, I'll stay with you tonight."

"No, from today onwards, Xi will go to Consort Yu's palace."

Wei Xi looked at her in surprise, seeing her for the first time asking him to favor another woman.

"Although Consort Xue is beautiful, the prime minister is just a civil official. In peaceful times, he would rely on her more. Now that a great enemy is at hand, civil officials are naturally not as good as military generals. Although you don't like Consort Yu, her father is a veteran general who has served three dynasties."

In a few words, she clearly explained the situation in the harem. Wei Xi was stunned for a moment but then realized what she meant and continued to ask,

"So what are Liu'er's plans next?"

"General Yu had a daughter late in life and has always doted on her."

Wei Xi wasn't stupid; he vaguely understood what she meant. "Does General Yu have a way to solve this urgent problem?"

"Zhao Chenggang was promoted by General Yu himself back then, so he should at least give him some face."

Although he said this, seeing Wei Xi's eyes gradually turning cold, Feng Liu knew that he had already thought it through. If Zhao Chenggang wanted to force the emperor to abdicate, then he must have an inside agent in the capital to cooperate, and this inside agent's identity and status could not be low. It was even possible that Zhao Chenggang himself had already arrived in the capital.

Wei Xi suddenly had a plan. If Zhao Chenggang was in the capital, then as long as he captured him alive and beheaded him in front of the army, the opposing army of 100,000 would lose a general on the battlefield and be defeated without a fight.

Wei Xi hurriedly left after having made up his mind. Before leaving, he specifically instructed Ze'an to send more tonics and treasures to Feng Palace.

Actually, the plan wasn't something Fengliu made up; it was based on information obtained from her secret guards. Since entering the palace, Zhao Chenggang had been secretly working at General Yu's residence. The General and Zhao Chenggang had a very close relationship, and it was likely that Fengliu was involved in Zhao Chenggang's

attempt to force the emperor to abdicate, perhaps even being his biggest ally. Fengliu had originally only intended to watch the show, but Wei Xi had disappointed her greatly. After so many days, he hadn't come up with a single plan, and with the army about to besiege the city, he still had no way to deal with it. She couldn't just watch Zhao Chenggang's army storm in and then ascend the throne. Wouldn't

all her carefully laid plans have been for nothing? So, at the last moment, she decided to help Wei Xi.

Although General Yu had a close relationship with Zhao Chenggang, what benefit would Zhao Chenggang gain from ascending the throne? His two sons had long since died on the battlefield, and he had finally had a daughter in his old age, whom he cherished like a precious treasure. Now that she had entered the palace, if Wei Xi loved her or intended to make her queen, it was hard to guarantee that General Yu wouldn't defect on the battlefield.

After all, he was old, and no one could say how many years he had left. How could he know what Zhao Chenggang would do to his descendants after his death? But if Wei Xi made Consort Yu empress, then his grandson could be the future King of Wei.

Feng Liu knew that the old general was a shrewd man, and he probably had already thought of all this. Or perhaps he was helping Zhao Chenggang now to force Wei Xi to make a decision.

65. The Fall of a Dynasty

On the night that King Wei Xi had favored Consort Yu, he secretly summoned General Yu to an audience the next day. The two talked for a long time in the imperial study. No one knew what agreement they reached. However, when General Yu left, he was radiant and looked as if he had become many years younger. King

Wei, on the other hand, had a solemn expression and a melancholy look. His eyes showed a hint of hesitation, but it eventually turned into determination and ruthlessness.

He hurriedly wrote a memorial in his room and then secretly handed it to Ze'an. When Ze'an saw the memorial, a strange look flashed across his face. "Your Majesty, do you really have to do this?"

Wei Xi reassured him, "She will understand. I am already in a difficult situation."

So, on the last day before the army was about to invade, several major events occurred in the court. The first was the arrest of the mastermind behind the rebellion. General Yu, with the late king's male favorite, Li Tian, the mastermind who had caused the late king's death and instigated General Zhao to usurp the throne, was brought to the main hall, bound and escorted.

The entire court was abuzz with discussion. Everyone was amazed by his beauty, surpassing even that of a woman, yet terrified by his enigmatic ways and ruthless methods. They unanimously pleaded with King Wei to execute him immediately and hang his body on the city wall as a warning to the rebels.

The second major event was King Wei's great joy at General Yu's capture of the mastermind. He immediately announced his intention to make Consort Yu his queen. Many ministers objected, arguing that Queen Su Liu was the only daughter of King Han of Lan Kingdom and a princess sent for a political marriage. Their sudden dismissal would likely engulf Lan Kingdom and provoke another war between the two countries.

However, Wei Xi, without hesitation, had Ze An announce several major charges against the queen in court: first, her affair with the rebel mastermind, Li Tian, and loss of virginity on her wedding night; second, her jealousy and sowing discord among the concubines. Then several more points were listed, all saying that the Queen's words and actions were inappropriate and that she was unfit to continue fulfilling her duties as Queen.

Then, they praised Consort Yu for her dignified appearance, virtue, and talent, making her the perfect candidate to be Empress.

After the imperial decree was read, the officials had no choice but to kowtow and welcome the new Queen. When Consort Yu, beaming with joy, entered the hall, Li Tian, who had remained silent since being brought there, almost appearing mute, suddenly burst into laughter in front of all the officials.

Wei Xi was furious. "Guards! Slap her!"

"Wei Xi, it's a pity you, so clever all your life, have spun your own cocoon."

A cold glint flashed in Li Tian's eyes, but his smile was so alluring that it stunned everyone; even a smile that could topple a kingdom was nothing compared to this.

"You will gain neither the kingdom nor the beauty! The Kingdom of Wei is doomed, and you will be its eternal sinner." Her crimson lips parted slightly, uttering a curse as vicious as a nightmare.

Wei Xi, enraged, stormed off the stage and slapped the alluring face repeatedly. But Li Tian remained smiling, his smile undiminished, even with blood trickling from his lips, growing increasingly disdainful and mocking.

Just as Wei Xi was about to draw his sword and kill him, a guard burst into the hall, loudly announcing, "General Zhao Chenggang, Duke of Dingguo, has led a hundred elite warriors into the palace and is charging towards the main hall!"

The entire hall erupted in chaos, the usually arrogant courtiers now trembling like startled birds. Wei Xi panicked, unsure how to appease them. Although half the Imperial Guards were stationed to defend the city, there were still thousands of Imperial Guards in the palace. How could a mere hundred men possibly kill someone in the royal palace?

Only General Yu stepped forward with a grave expression and offered a plan, "That traitor must have come for this monster. Take him to the palace gate and force him to surrender."

Upon hearing this, Wei Xi immediately summoned his men.

He had been unable to find a way to force Zhao Chenggang to reveal himself, but unexpectedly, Zhao Chenggang had delivered himself to their doorstep. If they could capture him, they could win without a fight tomorrow and easily repel the 100,000-strong army.

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but feel smug, his pride soaring. He even wanted to personally capture Zhao Chenggang. Li Tian was escorted to the front by the guards, with Wei Xi and General Yu following behind. The group quickly headed towards the palace gate.

Who would have thought that, not long after they stepped out of the main hall and reached the square in front of it, they heard shouts of fighting and killing ahead. They saw a group of imperial guards being forced into the square while fighting and retreating.

Zhao Chenggang was only in his early forties, in the prime of his life, tall, strong, and incredibly fierce. Clad in scale armor and wielding a long spear, he stood at the forefront, the spear tip razor-sharp, wounding several with a single swipe, sending others flying with a flick of the spear, and pressing the shaft against the enemy, felling more to the ground. He

was invincible, unstoppable in every battle, like a war god descended to earth. Thousands of imperial guards were utterly powerless before him, and the hundreds of soldiers behind him were as ferocious as tigers descending the mountain.

Wei Xi's face immediately darkened, and a sense of panic rose within him. Even General Yu had not expected him to be so valiant, possessing the strength to hold off ten thousand men. If he did not capture him today, the Prince of Wei would likely be his for the taking even before the 100,000-strong army besieged the city tomorrow.

He rushed forward, shoving aside the stunned guards, and swiftly drew a long sword from one of their waists. Without hesitation, he held it to Li Tian's neck, shouting at Zhao Chenggang, "Zhao Chenggang, look who I'm holding!"

Zhao Chenggang glanced over at the sound of his voice and, amidst the chaos, vaguely saw General Yu holding someone—a slender man in a blue robe, his disheveled black hair revealing half of his fair face, though that once delicate face was now swollen, and his bright red lips were tinged with blood.

Just that one glance was enough to strike a nerve; suddenly, his hands felt so heavy he could barely hold his spear, his steps felt like they weighed a ton, and he couldn't take another step. His fierce eyes stared straight at the man, forgetting he was on a battlefield.

Seeing that his attack had worked, General Yu immediately raised his voice. "Zhao Chenggang! Put down your weapon immediately, or I'll slice him to pieces right before your eyes!"

Zhao Chenggang trembled violently. The once valiant and invincible general now showed signs of helplessness.

"Yu Jiancheng, I've always called you my godfather, and you've kidnapped my beloved to threaten me!"

General Yu, fearing he might say something inappropriate and displease Wei Xi, immediately interrupted him. "Bah! Don't try to associate with me. Traitors and rebels deserve to be killed by everyone. Today is your death day!"

With that, he used the tip of his knife to slash Li Tian's neck. Bright red blood eagerly gushed from the wound, starkly contrasting against his fair, jade-like neck. However, Li Tian seemed to feel no pain, his face remaining expressionless, only raising his cold, star-like eyes to look at the person opposite him.

A clear yet chilling voice echoed faintly, "General Zhao, don't forget our promise."

Zhao Chenggang trembled, his tiger-like eyes filled with sorrow. In the end, he threw down his spear, lowered his head, and dared not look at Li Tian, muttering, "No, no... I can't... How can I watch you die..."

"Tian'er, I can't... Don't force me..."

"What will I have left if you die..."

Those words drifted softly across the square, but few paid attention. What everyone cared about was that the enemy leader had already surrendered, abandoning his weapons. General Yu and Wei Xi excitedly ordered him to be tightly bound and taken away for personal interrogation. The remaining hundred soldiers, seeing their commander captured, also spontaneously threw down their weapons and surrendered.

Only Li Tian quietly watched Zhao Chenggang's bound back as he was taken away, a flicker of unreadable emotion in his eyes. The wound on his neck was still bleeding profusely, quickly staining his clothes red.

No one knew where Zhao Chenggang had been taken. Li Tian was locked in a dark room of less than ten square meters. The floor was damp and terribly damp, and although it was covered with a layer of straw, it only gave off a more unpleasant musty smell.

Li Tian sat on the floor, ignoring the wound on his neck. He had thought it would just bleed until it healed, but unexpectedly, the wound gradually stopped bleeding on its own. In the distance, he could hear a man's miserable wails, as if he was being tortured. He heard it very clearly and intently.

When he recognized that the voice was not Zhao Chenggang's, he felt both disappointed and relieved. In the end, he didn't even know what he was thinking. Hadn't he always wanted him dead? Now that he was about to die, why was he hesitating?

In the darkness, he couldn't even feel the passage of time. Just when Li Tian thought he might die silently in this darkness forever, he heard movement outside again—extremely light footsteps, almost imperceptible, followed by a faint, lingering fragrance.

He recognized the scent, and Li Tian smiled. "You've come."

Feng Liu stood outside the prison gate, looking at Li Tian, who had become emaciated after a month apart, and a complex feeling welled up inside her.

She softly hummed in agreement, then sliced through the chains on the prison gate with her sword, opened the door, and slowly walked in, helping Li Tian up.

"Has a fight broken out?" Li Tian's voice was soft.

Feng Liu nodded, then, remembering that he had lost all his martial arts and couldn't see in the dark, she spoke again. "They've already breached the capital, and I'm afraid they'll be storming the palace soon."

Li Tian nodded in surprise. "You've been planning for so long, and you've finally taken Wei Kingdom."

His tone didn't contain any resentment, but rather a hint of congratulations. Feng Liu stiffened slightly, then continued to help him walk out, gradually feeling relieved.

This guy is Li Tian. She always said they were very similar—equally intelligent, cold-blooded, and suspicious. So how could he not have thought of what she did? But now that he knew… “Why did you help me?”

Li Tian followed her slowly out of the underground prison. Seeing all the jailers killed instantly, a hint of amazement and admiration flashed in his eyes. Then, hearing her question, he couldn't help but smile faintly.

“If even you don't know the answer to this question, then no one in the world knows.”

Yes, she actually knew, but she just didn't want to admit it. Just as she wanted to give the whole world to Su Han, Li Tian also wanted to give the Wei Kingdom to her. All he did was play the role of a pawn, fulfilling her wishes.

The two stood at the dungeon entrance, watching the flames soaring into the sky from the main hall, the shouts and cries of battle deafening. They witnessed the fall of a kingdom.

“Where is he?” Li Tian asked dejectedly.

"The situation isn't good; I'm just waiting to see you one last time."

66. The Next Life

Only after stepping into one of the Prince Wei's private torture chambers did Li Tian understand what Feng Liu meant by "the situation isn't good." This wasn't just "the situation isn't good"; it was practically a death knell, barely clinging to life.

He wasn't someone who hadn't been tortured before. Whenever the Prince Wei was in the mood, he'd find different ways to torment him. Each time he was sent back, he felt like he was on his last breath. But compared to this man today, he suddenly felt relatively fortunate. It turned out that the old dog Prince Wei had shown him some mercy.

His son, however, had learned his cruelty perfectly, even surpassing his master.

Zhao Chenggang was completely naked, but there was no need to hide it anymore. His entire body was stained red with blood, as if he had been soaked in a pool of blood. Li Tian himself knew medicine, but he had never imagined that a person could bleed so much.

Why did he feel as if the entire house was stained with blood? Everything was a blinding red, as if a layer of red had been glued to his eyes, making everything appear red?

Feng Liu gently released him, afraid he had no strength left, and even slipped a life-sustaining ginseng pill into his mouth. Then he quietly withdrew, seemingly wanting to leave these last moments for them, for the man who clung to his last breath, unwilling to close his eyes in peace.

"I'm here," Li Tian said softly, his voice terribly hoarse. Only then did he realize he hadn't drunk a drop of water for a day and a night, yet he had completely forgotten about being thirsty.

The man lying on the torture bed paused slightly, his unfocused eyes slowly moving before he finally came to his senses and recognized the man's face. Then he grinned foolishly.

With that grin, blood gushed from his mouth and trickled down his chin, its destination unclear, probably because he was covered in blood.

He seemed to realize his predicament, feeling he looked unsightly, and tried several times to wipe the blood from his mouth, but couldn't lift his hand, so he resigned himself to ignoring it.

Li Tian stepped forward, tearing a large piece from his clothes without hesitation, and used it to wipe the blood from the man's mouth.

Actually, his mouth, lips, jaw, and neck were covered in blood; he couldn't possibly wipe it all away. But he didn't care, and neither did the man. Even after feeling the wiping, the man grinned foolishly again, a satisfied grin.

"That smile is hideous," he said, his tone as cold and distant as ever, unmoved by the man's miserable state.

The man on the bed, however, didn't care at all; on the contrary, he seemed satisfied. He didn't want his sympathy or to be moved. Before he died, all he wanted was to see him one last time, not to be forced to give him anything.

Li Tian's eyes slowly swept over him. What best described his current state? After much thought, he could only think of him as utterly battered.

His body was covered in whip marks, his skin torn and bleeding, but that wasn't the worst of it.

He ignored the unnatural twists and turns of his limbs, reaching out to grasp the man's hand, ignoring the sticky feeling and dried blood clots, just holding it gently.

"Tian..." the man called out softly, seemingly both shy and fearful.

Li Tian nodded in response, unlike before when he would either berate him or give him a beating.

So, the guy who had received a response laughed stupidly again, blood flowing freely from his mouth. Li Tian wiped it with his other hand, saying disdainfully as he did so. "Stop laughing, it's ugly!"

"Okay... I won't laugh..." the man hurriedly said, afraid of Li Tian's anger, though he was barely breathing.

Li Tian then looked down at the man's palm; his fingers were twisted and bent, clearly broken by human force. He noticed black blood clots at the fingertips, and his nails had been pulled out piece by piece.

"I..." the man's breath grew weaker, his voice gradually fading.

Li Tian lifted his head from the man's palm and looked at him, noticing the unfocused look in his eyes.

He gently pressed on the man's chest a few times, then smoothed his throat, guessing that the blood clots were blocking it. Sure enough, his breathing improved slightly, but only slightly.

His voice, however, remained hoarse. "I'm...going..."

His face was utterly calm as he said this, as if he felt no regret or sorrow.

"You're worried about me?" A hint of disdain and mockery flickered in Li Tian's icy eyes.

But the person on the bed showed no sadness; instead, he uttered a heavy "Yes..."

Then another mouthful of blood spurted out, but this time no one wiped it away.

For the first time, Li Tian reached out and touched his face, as if seeing it for the first time, scrutinizing it intently. Zhao Chenggang was being examined like this. Li Tian slowly followed the contours of his face downwards: the prominent Adam's apple, the strong, broad chest, the flat, powerful abdomen, and then a bloody, mangled genital area.

It had been cut off with a dagger. Although the bleeding had stopped, the festering wound looked horrifying.

Li Tian raised an eyebrow slightly. "That thing's gone, and you still can't let me go?"

Zhao Chenggang wasn't angry; his weak voice was like a candle flame about to go out, indistinct and uncertain, as if he might die at any moment.

"I...never...thought..." The usually proud and unyielding General Zhao, who hadn't uttered a sound even after being tortured like this, suddenly had tears welling up in his eyes. A single tear slid down his dry eye, mingling with the blood on his cheek, and rolled down as a tear of blood.

Li Tian paused slightly, continuing his gaze down Zhao Chenggang's genitals: his strong thighs, his broken calves, and his toes, which had also been twisted and had their nails pulled out. After looking around, his gaze returned to Zhao Chenggang's face. "So what do you want?"

"To...take a look..." He seemed to be struggling to speak, each word requiring immense effort.

"You want to take a look at me?"

Zhao Chenggang nodded, then shook his head, the movement extremely subtle. It was unclear how Li Tian had noticed.

Li Tian asked again, "Let me see you one last time?"

Unexpectedly, Zhao Chenggang nodded, a look of satisfaction at the fulfillment of a long-held wish in his eyes.

"But I don't love you," Li Tian said coldly, without hesitation, seemingly unconcerned about the other's feelings.

Zhao Chenggang nodded, as if to say, he knew, he had always known.

Li Tian circled the torture bed, then suddenly squatted down, only to discover that beneath Zhao Chenggang were dark red blood clots, the exposed flesh and blood practically plastering him to the bed.

After a thorough search, Li Tian finally found Zhao Chenggang's fatal wound: a whole patch of skin on his back had been peeled off using some unknown method, and the bed itself was also quite interesting—three-inch-long iron nails were embedded in his flesh.

He would lie there on this bed, bleeding incessantly until he bled to death, then slowly die in agony.

Wei Xi's methods were truly remarkable; even Li Tian had to admit his admiration. A cold, bloodthirsty smile appeared on Li Tian's face, yet it was so stunning that it was impossible to look away.

"Regret?" Looking at Zhao Chenggang's miserable state, Li Tian felt that even he couldn't imagine the kind of pain he must have endured, yet this guy was still holding on, waiting for him to arrive.

Zhao Chenggang gently shook his head, the light in his eyes almost gone.

His chest was no longer rising and falling. Li Tian was finally moved. He thought Zhao Chenggang was gone, and a strange feeling welled up in his chest. He could only whisper in a hoarse voice, "I hope you never meet me again in your next life." Unexpectedly

, Zhao Chenggang's throat moved again. Li Tian stiffened, lowered his head, and could only faintly hear some indistinct sounds. After a long while, he understood that what Zhao Chenggang said was:

In his next life, he wanted to be a woman. Even on his deathbed, was he still so stubborn? Even now, did he not regret it…?

“Sigh…” Li Tian’s sigh echoed softly in the torture chamber, carrying an emotion even he couldn’t quite decipher. Finally, he whispered in the man’s ear, “In my next life, I’ll be a woman. Come find me.”

Then, Li Tian quietly watched him, a faint smile appearing on his face. His eyes finally lost all their luster, his chest stopped moving, and his entire body grew cold and stiff.

Li Tian stood there for a long time, even forgetting the passage of time. Finally, he stepped forward, closed the man’s eyes, sighed, and left without looking back.

67. You only love yourself.

Zhao Chenggang's army stormed into the capital. Wei Xi, with a few trusted men, escaped the palace in a sorry state under the desperate protection of General Yu's confidants. General Yu, despite his advanced age, managed to escort Wei Xi and the others out of the capital. He collapsed shortly after leaving the city and was on the verge of death.

She still stared wide-eyed, gripping Wei Xi's hand tightly. "My King, do not lose heart. Wait patiently for the opportunity. After we reunite with the generals, these traitors will meet their end."

Wei Xi could still faintly hear the shouts of battle coming from the other side of the city. He wanted to leave quickly, but General Yu held his hand tightly, making him unable to move. He could only nod hastily.

"I only have this one daughter. I hope Your Majesty will remember my desperate act of protecting her and treat her well."

Then, the petite woman who had been hiding in the crowd burst into tears. It was the newly appointed Queen Yu. She gripped General Yu's other hand, her eyes swollen from crying.

Ze An and several guards stood by, seemingly seeing the pursuing troops, and urged them on. "Your Majesty, stragglers are coming."

Wei Xi became increasingly anxious, but still managed a smile. He put his arm around Queen Yu and said to General Yu.

"Father-in-law,

please rest assured. The Queen and I have shared hardships together, and I will certainly treat you well. When the Queen gives birth to a prince, he will surely be made crown prince." With this assurance, General Yu was finally at ease, releasing his hand and gripping his longsword tightly.

"Your Majesty, please go now."

Wei Xi, impatient and urged by Ze An, hurriedly pulled the nearly fainting Queen Yu along, and with several trusted guards escorting them, they quickly fled the capital.

General Yu, using his longsword to support his limp body, rose again and even killed two more stragglers, but ultimately died under a hail of swords. Before dying, he hallucinated, seemingly seeing his unborn grandson in a dragon robe, and witnessing the future of his Yu family's immense power.

Even in death, a smile remained on his lips.

Li Tian finally saw Feng Liu in the palace hall. She stood alone before the army, with thirty or forty well-trained assassins behind her. Facing the bloodthirsty rebels, not a single one showed fear.

She wore a snow-white dress, like the last pure white in the world, so pristine it inspired awe.

"All soldiers, heed my command!" Her voice was cold as ice, her jade hand holding the tiger tally high, her imposing presence like that of a general.

The rebels were stunned, then all knelt, obedient as lambs. Li Tian recognized the token; it belonged to Zhao Chenggang. He didn't know when he had given it to her. Could it be…?

A sudden shock ran through Li Tian, a shame and anger at having his deepest secret exposed. If that person hadn't been dead, he probably would have rushed over and given him another beating to vent his anger.

When did he find out? Since he knew that what he did was only to help her unify the world, why did he rush here, not only offering his own life but also his entire army of 100,000?

The faint smile on that man's face before his death inexplicably resurfaced before his eyes, peaceful and content, seemingly carrying boundless hope.

The chaos in the palace was quelled, the looted wealth was returned, and the 100,000 soldiers obeyed orders, withdrawing from the city and setting up camp outside the capital. Only a small number remained in the city to maintain order. The people, terrified, stayed indoors, expecting the riot to last a long time, but it passed in just one day. The

100,000 soldiers were well appeased by Feng Liu, and Zhao Chenggang's body was carefully burned in front of the army, followed by a grand funeral. On that day, even these tens of thousands of iron-willed soldiers couldn't help but have tears in their eyes. Feng Liu watched silently from the side, never expecting Zhao Chenggang to have such prestige and reputation as a commander.

His passing was truly a great loss; such a general was an asset that every ruler would desperately seek.

The funeral lasted three days, and all the soldiers spontaneously wore mourning clothes. News of the general's death and the humiliation he suffered slowly spread throughout the army. Within days, someone raised a banner, declaring they would kill Wei Xi to avenge the general.

Li Tian didn't stay long either. After Feng Liu swiftly seized control of the Wei court and cleanly dealt with the disloyal ministers, he took his leave.

"I thought..." Feng Liu looked at him, momentarily speechless.

She knew Li Tian's feelings for her better than anyone; the ease with which Wei was conquered was undeniably due to Li Tian's efforts. She had always believed that Li Tian would always be by her side.

"There are some things I want to do personally."

Feng Liu nodded, personally seeing him off outside the capital. Thinking of his lost martial arts skills and stunning beauty, and fearing he would suffer, she secretly sent two guards to accompany him.

As he left, watching Li Tian's resolute back, Feng Liu couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness.

"Come back if you get tired. I'll tend the flowers and gather herbs, and you can keep me company."

Li Tian smiled, knowing the meaning behind her words. She simply couldn't bear to see him lonely and miserable, not that she loved him.

But he still couldn't help but nod in agreement. When you fall in love with someone, even if you can't have them, just being able to see them often is enough. He suddenly understood Zhao Chenggang's meaning.

He didn't ask for anything in return, he didn't ask for pity, he only asked that you turn around and look at him once, just one glance would be enough.

Wei Xi fled in a panic with a few trusted confidants, but he didn't enjoy his freedom for more than a few days before the pursuers arrived. Since Zhao Chenggang's funeral, those pursuers were determined to kill them, relentlessly chasing them day after day.

The number of guards around him dwindled until there were less than five left. Although Wei Xi had always lived a life of luxury, at least he had Ze'an by his side. Although he couldn't be taken care of as meticulously as he was in the palace, there was always someone by his side to ask about his well-being. In contrast, the Jade Queen looked much more desolate.

Since General Yu's death, Wei Xi had rarely spoken to her, and the group had been preoccupied with fleeing for their lives, with no one paying her much attention. She felt a sense of injustice, but because the timing wasn't right, she swallowed it down.

One day, they passed through a small town. Though small, the town was well-informed. While Wei Xi and his companions were eating, they learned that the riot had been quelled, and the current acting ruler was none other than the former Queen, Princess Su Liu. They heard that she held considerable power and handled the affairs of state with remarkable efficiency, displaying the qualities of a wise and capable ruler.

Upon hearing this news, Wei Xi's heart stirred. He privately discussed the matter with Ze An.

"Now that the riot has been quelled, let's return to the capital immediately,"

Ze An said. However, Ze An was not optimistic. Not to mention the 100,000 soldiers stationed outside the capital, each one eager to devour Wei Xi's flesh and blood to avenge their general, even Princess Su Liu might not welcome their return. After all, before the riot, Wei Xi had demoted her to the rank of concubine on charges of infidelity.

For a woman, this was no small offense, but a lifelong humiliation.

So she quickly advised, "The Queen is a princess of Lan Kingdom. Who knows which side she truly favors? Perhaps we should observe for a few more days."

Before Wei Xi could reply, Queen Yu, who had been eavesdropping, jumped out and loudly interrupted,

"What Queen! I am the Queen! I am the rightful Queen of Wei Kingdom! What right does that unfaithful woman have to be Queen! So you've been ignoring me all along! You used my father and now you want to abandon me? Let me tell you! Don't even think about it! I, Yu Fu'er, am not someone to be trifled with!"

Enraged by her outburst, Wei Xi raised her hand and slapped her across the face.

"Shut up! Who gives you the right to interrupt here!"

Ze'an hurriedly stepped forward to pull her away. "Your Majesty, please forgive me. I misspoke. Please calm down."

Who knew that Wei Xi, who had been on the run for half a month, was already seething with anger. Today, taking advantage of this opportunity, she suddenly exploded, cursing without thinking. "Bah! You think you're worthy to be my queen? Let me tell you, in my heart, there is only one queen. I only think of Liu'er. She is the only woman I love."

"Hahaha, what a joke!" Queen Yu suddenly laughed. "If you loved her, how could you have abandoned her and fled the palace alone?! If you loved her, how could you have ignored her news for half a month? If you loved her, how could you spend your days in the harem, leaving her alone in her empty chambers!"

Wei Xi's face darkened, and Ze An was stunned. Then Queen Yu continued,

"Wei Xi, you don't love anyone at all. Your so-called love is just what you think. You only love yourself!"

Wei Xi roared in anger, "Insolence!"

Ze An was terrified and quickly grabbed Wei Xi, fearing he would hurt himself in his anger. However, Yu Fu'er, also from a military family, though a woman, had quite a temper. She immediately threw her gold and silver jewelry on the ground.

"Wei Xi, you promised my father you would treat me well. Now you've broken your promise. If my father has a spirit in heaven, he will surely remember this!"

With that, she turned and left.

Ze An wanted to chase after her, but Wei Xi grabbed her arm.

Wei Xi smiled somewhat sinisterly, "Let her go. Do you think she's just a woman? Where else can she go after leaving us? Sooner or later she'll come back begging me."

Then, his tone shifted, "Besides, it's better that she's gone. Liu'er can rightfully return to being the Queen."

68. Don't play tricks

. Ze An looked at Wei Xi and felt a chill run down her spine. Thinking of Yu Fu'er's words, she suddenly realized that Wei Xi kept saying he loved Princess Su Liu, but his heart only belonged to her. However, the other party was, after all, an emperor, and even in her misfortune, she was still more noble than him. She dared not show it on her face.

Standing obediently to the side with her head down, Wei Xi was still thinking about how to make Su Liu soften her heart and forgive his abrupt departure. However, the situation was urgent at the time, and Liu'er should have been able to understand, but abandoning her was a fact. However, he was escorted out of the city by General Yu and his personal guards.

At that time, taking Yu Fu'er was enough; he dared not suggest bringing Su Liu along, fearing General Yu's displeasure. Moreover, he harbored a secret thought: if something happened to Su Liu in the palace, he could later request Prince Lan to send troops to suppress it.

The group only rested for half a day in the small town before continuing their journey. The pursuers were close behind, allowing no time for rest or regrouping. Yu Fu'er was missing, but no one questioned it; in this life-or-death situation, everyone was already doing well to take care of themselves.

With the border drawing ever closer, it was impossible for Wei Xi not to be anxious. He had secretly ordered two generals to lead troops to rescue the capital; the imperial decree had been issued over a month ago, so why hadn't they joined them on the road? Could something have gone wrong?

This thought made him increasingly uneasy.

Privately, he pulled Ze'an aside to discuss, "Could it be that those two generals, seeing that the capital is already a fait accompli, have given up and are no longer involved?"

"It's not impossible," Ze'an also felt it was a pipe dream.

Wei Xi had initially planned to promise them wealth and endless glory, then lead their two armies back to the capital. He could then return to the palace in triumph, reunite with Liu'er, explain his predicament, and beg for her forgiveness. Then, he would have both the empire and the beauty in his grasp.

Now, it seemed those two generals were unreliable, perhaps even in cahoots with Zhao Chenggang. Now, all his hopes rested on Su Liu. He believed Su Liu was devoted to him, though perhaps hurt by his actions. But women are often hypocritical, stubborn on the outside but soft on the inside; they just needed some coaxing.

In his view, Wei Xi hadn't lost yet. He only needed to return to the capital to turn the tide and reverse the outcome.

Ze'an had become increasingly silent lately. Unlike Wei Xi, he wasn't as certain; instead, he felt that this was probably the end. The morale of the guards had also plummeted. Wei Xi had always promised them countless riches and honors when he reclaimed the throne, but after so many days of escape, they hadn't encountered any reinforcements and hadn't received any news at all.

The morale of the group crumbled instantly. Before Wei Xi could notice, Ze'an sensed something was wrong.

Sure enough, one day they stopped to rest in the woods. One guard went ahead to scout, but he never returned. The remaining men speculated that he might have met with misfortune and hurried on in other directions.

In the following days, guards went missing one after another until only Ze'an and Wei Xi remained. Only then did Wei Xi begin to berate them for their disloyalty and treachery, while Ze'an listened silently.

Wei Xi took his hand and said... “Ze’an, in the end, you are still the most loyal to me. Don’t worry, after you help us reunite with Liu’er, I will reward you with ten thousand taels of silver and a thousand taels of gold.”

Ze’an bowed his head and agreed, then offered to go find food for Wei Xi.

They had been wandering in the mountains for over ten days, eating wild game and fruits every day. Wei Xi was angry but had to endure it, so he waved for Ze’an to go and chose a shady spot to rest.

However, after waiting for a long time without seeing Ze’an return, he became suspicious. He searched in the direction Ze’an had gone for a while but still didn’t see him. He immediately understood and cursed angrily.

“Ze’an, you wretch! You are so contemptuous! When I rise again, I will not forgive you!”

He cursed fiercely in the forest, as if he wanted to vent all his resentment.

Unexpectedly, a faint sigh suddenly came from the forest, sounding particularly eerie.

Wei Xi straightened up quickly, listening intently. "Who?! Ze'an? Is that you back? I misunderstood you. My words earlier are null and void; I will not punish you."

Unexpectedly, after these words, several cold laughs echoed from the forest, but these laughs were now filled with disdain and disgust. Wei Xi was furious. "Come out! Don't play tricks!"

69. A Beauty or a Demon ?

From the shadowy trees in the forest, a figure slowly emerged. His long, flowing black hair cascaded down his back, his face was as pale as jade, his eyes gleamed with a cold, starlight-like light, and most alluringly, his lips were as red as blood.

He was like a fairy in the forest, possessing an ethereal and otherworldly beauty. Even Wei Xi, who was used to seeing beautiful women, was instantly captivated, staring blankly at him, forgetting to move.

Only when the man walked step by step up to him, allowing him to see the resentment and mockery in the other's eyes, did he suddenly snap back to his senses, his hand subtly resting on the sword at his waist.

If it were this man, Wei Xi wouldn't actually feel afraid. He knew that his father had crippled his martial arts to obtain this man. He might appear like an ordinary person, but over the years his body had long since deteriorated, probably not even reaching half the strength of an average person.

Having made up his mind, his expression became much more relaxed, and he narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing Li Tian from head to toe.

A disdainful smile played on his lips. "Even in my current predicament, I am not someone you, my male concubine, can bully. I didn't notice you usually, but today you do seem quite handsome." He then curled his lips into a smile. "I wouldn't mind having a taste of you myself." Li

Tian laughed instead of getting angry. "Then we'll see if you're still up to the task."

Wei Xi was startled, suddenly realizing that he couldn't move his body. He didn't know when he had been poisoned, and his face turned panicked. "What have you done?! Release me!"

"Your Highness is mistaken, I haven't done it yet."

Li Tian chuckled softly, his star-like eyes narrowing slightly, his beautiful lips curving into a stunning smile. Truly, one glance could topple a city, a second glance could topple a nation.

That was the last scene Wei Xi saw before he lost consciousness; he never knew a man could be so beautiful as to topple kingdoms.

When he awoke, he was naked and bound to a pillar. Looking at the cell, Wei Xi was suddenly terrified. Looking at the man sitting before him, he could no longer appreciate his unique, breathtaking beauty; he could only beg for mercy.

"If you can endure this, I will let you go, I promise."

Although he didn't know what "endure this" meant, the will to survive made Wei Xi nod hastily. Thus began the most terrifying nightmare of his life.

A burly man walked in, appearing to be about forty, dressed in a commander's uniform. Although Wei Xi didn't recognize him, the hatred in the man's eyes chilled him. If he wasn't mistaken, this man was likely one of Zhao Chenggang's top generals.

Li Tian sat quietly to the side, watching as the commander began to lash out with his whip. Wei Xi initially gritted his teeth and endured the pain, but after a few blows, he could

n't help but scream in agony, each scream more piercing than the last. The whipping seemed endless; he lost consciousness countless times, only to be repeatedly revived by splashing water, then the lashing continued until not a single patch of skin on his body remained unscathed. Only then was Li Tian satisfied.

The first round seemed to be over. The commander put down the whip, bowed to Li Tian, and withdrew.

Wei Xi thought it was over, but before he could even smile, Li Tian approached with a beaming smile. "Your Highness, do not be hasty; this is only the beginning."

Wei Xi's expression changed drastically. Before he could understand what was happening, another general entered, his face darkening upon seeing Wei Xi. Without hesitation, he kicked him twice, breaking both of Wei Xi's lower legs. The excruciating pain made him scream.

But it wasn't over yet; the other general cruelly broke all four of his limbs, making him scream until he almost wept blood.

Li Tian watched from the side, shaking his head involuntarily. "Your screams are so piercing, far inferior to others."

Wei Xi, already delirious from the pain, was jolted awake by the splash of water. Hearing this, he trembled, as if remembering something, his voice hoarse and strained. "No...no..."

He finally understood why Li Tian had brought him here, and he remembered what he had done to another person.

Li Tian smiled and approached, taking out silver needles from his waist and inserting them into several acupuncture points on Wei Xi, comforting him with a gentle smile.

"Your Highness, don't worry, it's not halfway done yet."

Wei Xi's eyes were filled with terror as he watched Li Tian insert needles into his body, prolonging his life.

"You're not human! You evil spirit!" He nearly went mad, but the person opposite him showed no anger, instead smiling even more brightly, a smile so beautiful it was chilling, yet carrying an icy chill.

Then came two words that uttered utter despair. "Continue."

It wasn't until the first light of dawn that Li Tian emerged from the cell, his face as calm as a still, ancient well.

Several soldiers entered the room to collect the body, their disdainful voices faintly emanating from within.

"He died halfway through; that's too easy for him."

"What use is a corpse? Crush it and feed it to the dogs."

...

Li Tian slowly walked away, watching the rising sunset on the horizon, looking towards the capital.

He'd been out for so long; it was time to go back. He wanted to see that person.

Wei Xi died without knowing that the two armies he had been waiting for to come to his aid had only marched halfway before being surrounded and annihilated by the Lan Kingdom's army. The so-called rescue was nothing but empty words.

The Lan Kingdom's army had already taken control of Wei, and Su Liu had quickly stabilized the court. Wei's fall was too swift; before anyone could prepare, the world had already changed hands.

Zhao Chenggang's 100,000-strong army was reorganized and dispersed by Jiang Bin, and absorbed by the army of Lan Kingdom.

Unifying two countries into one was no easy task; besides the military and political affairs, the capital also needed to be relocated. Su Liu was busy like a spinning top every day, and Jiang Bin was also overwhelmed. After Su Han's victory, he quickly returned to Lan Kingdom with Ye Qing and Qi Teng.

After a vote by the ministers and everyone in both countries, the new capital was finally decided upon in a city bordering Lan and Wei Kingdoms. The city boasted beautiful scenery, fertile soil, and a pleasant climate, like spring all year round, which appealed to Feng Liu. Most importantly, the city connected the two countries, facilitating trade and resulting in rapid economic development.

In Feng Liu's eyes, that place was equivalent to a highly developed financial center, and its location was extremely advantageous, making it the perfect new capital.

The relocation of the capital took more than half a year of back and forth. The palace was not luxurious, but it was majestic and solemn. Fengliu and Suhan had been separated for a long time without a chance to meet. It wasn't until everything was arranged and the capital was moved to a new kingdom that they were finally able to reunite. Fengliu sat comfortably in the carriage, a smile never fading from her lips.

Litian, her confidant, was riding in the same carriage as her, leaning against the side reading several memorials she had tossed aside.

"Haven't you smiled enough?" Only after Litian had finished reading all the memorials and selected a few important ones to set aside for Fengliu's review later did he have a moment to look up.

Fengliu's beautiful eyes flickered as she leaned against Litian, resting her head on his shoulder and touching the smooth skin of his face. "That's really too much; your skin is even whiter than mine."

Litian rolled his eyes at her, closing his eyes without speaking.

Fengliu produced a small bronze mirror from somewhere, reflecting both of them, and then said with a grin. "They really do look like sisters."

Li Tian snatched the bronze mirror from her hand without even opening his eyes, tossed it aside, and said indifferently. "Your Majesty, if you're so free, go and finish reviewing those memorials."

Sure enough, Feng Liu frowned at the mention of memorials. "I'm not reading them! We're going to Tianze anyway, I'll just dump them all on Su Han."

After all, that guy is the real king, and she, the acting queen, is about to be laid off. But she felt really happy. Thinking about how she had been working tirelessly from dawn till dusk for the past six months without any rest, she felt a chill run down her spine. Fortunately

, everything was almost done. This time, the capital would be officially moved, followed by the founding ceremony, the announcement of the merger of the two countries, and Su Han's ascension to the throne and the title of king. That would be the end of it.

Li Tian glanced at her and noticed that she was lost in thought again. Without saying anything, he casually pulled out a thin blanket and covered her with it.

Feng Liu snapped back to reality, saw the blanket on her body, and smiled.

"It's a good thing you've been around these past few days, otherwise I would have been so busy."

Li Tian smiled upon hearing this and slapped her hand away. "Behave yourself, or His Majesty the Prince of Han will find out and get jealous."

Saying this, he lifted the curtain and stuck his head out. The sunlight outside was just right, and the green grass looked exceptionally tender, making one's mood lighten up. Li Tian turned back and said, "I'm going to ride a horse."

Feng Liu waved his hand, "He wouldn't be so petty. Go ahead, I'm going to sleep for a while."

Speaking of which, there's really no chance to catch one's breath.

70. No Way Back

Since she had some free time, she always felt sleepy, as if she wanted to make up for all the lazy sleep she had taken in the past six months. She was drowsy under a thin blanket. Li Tian carefully lowered the curtain and then changed to a horse.

Only then did he dare to reveal his weariness and haggardness. A metallic taste rose in his throat, which he carefully suppressed. After a long while, he cautiously took out a handkerchief from his sleeve and gently spat on it.

Bright red blood stained the handkerchief, but he didn't even glance at it. Then, expressionless, he put it away, gripped the reins, and let the horse trot slowly. He followed the carriage at a distance, his eyes darting around, lost in thought. The guards around him occasionally turned to look.

When they saw him, they couldn't help but pause for a moment. His already exquisitely handsome face had become even paler and thinner after half a year of busy work with Fengliu, yet a fragility shone through his cold beauty, evoking pity and a desire to take care of him.

But even though they thought this, no one dared to provoke him; his temper was notoriously bad. Aside from Her Majesty the Queen, no one in the entire palace could control him. Some had heard of his affair with Prince Wei, and after General Zhao's incident, everyone knew that this cold beauty, though beautiful, was thorny.

Of course, some didn't believe it, but even without martial arts, Li Tian still lived up to his title of "Ghost Doctor." No one had ever seen him fight, and those who had been disrespectful and offended him with their words fell seriously ill at home.

Her Majesty the Queen was exceptionally biased towards him, never intervening when things went wrong, only saying they had brought it on themselves. Some became impotent for life, some were bedridden and unable to move, and some had festering sores all over their bodies, scratching themselves raw.

Thus, after "Cold Beauty," he gained another title: "Poisonous Beauty."

Gossip about him and the Queen had been constant from the beginning. Wei Xi's concubines in the harem had been secretly speculating that he and the Queen had conspired to frame General Zhao and harm Wei Xi, thus seizing the throne. They

even tried to incite the court officials, but unfortunately, Feng Liu had already purged them all, and with her holding power and military authority, no one could do anything about it. However, the rumors couldn't be ignored. Feng Liu immediately sealed off the harem and prepared to explain herself in court.

But Li Tian was even more resolute. In front of the court officials, he selected three of the most prestigious ministers to privately examine him. Only then did everyone realize that Li Tian was no longer a complete man.

Feng Liu was naturally the most surprised, but Li Tian made no attempt to explain. In the end, she could only remain silent, but deep down she vaguely understood. He had probably anticipated this situation from the beginning, which was why he made this decision so early. To stay by her side, he had given up so much…

Fengliu couldn't repay what he wanted, but could only try her best to give him more care and warmth from the perspective of a friend, a sister, and a family member.

She remembered that after the court session, she had deliberately kept him behind.

"Why did you do that?"

He didn't speak, but only glanced around the Wei King's palace with a particularly cold gaze, and then said disdainfully,

"He thought he could trap me for life…" Fengliu knew he was referring to the Wei King.

She understood his meaning in an instant. The Wei King had used aphrodisiacs to control Li Tian, making his body inseparable from a man for even a moment. Every few days, the aphrodisiac would flare up. For such a proud man as him, being trapped as a captive by the Wei King was already the greatest humiliation of his life. After the Wei King's death, how could he allow himself to fall to that level again?

The toxins that had lingered in his body for so many years couldn't be easily eliminated; the best solution was to end it all.

Feng Liu patted his shoulder, indicating her understanding. "That's true, but I think there are

other ways besides this, even though it's troublesome." Li Tian was stunned for a moment, unable to answer, feeling as if his outer shell had been stripped bare, even more embarrassed and ashamed than when he had been examined earlier.

So he turned and left, Feng Liu helplessly watching him go, then turned back and issued an order.

All the concubines in the entire harem, as well as the maids and servants who had participated in the rumors, were all sent to Yun Kong Temple to become nuns. Originally, she didn't want to deal with them; why should women make things difficult for each other, especially since they were only implicated by Wei Xi? But she was willing to provide them with a life of luxury, yet they showed no gratitude whatsoever.

They were determined to bring her down, but what truly enraged Fengliu was that their rumors had embarrassed Li Tian in front of so many people. They knew how proud that guy was, willing to strip naked for a physical examination.

For that alone, she wanted nothing more than to drag those gossipy women out and behead them. Unfortunately, the country had just been established, and the merger of the two nations was not yet complete; she couldn't afford to start another war, so she could only grit her teeth and endure it.

The carriage arrived at the city gates of Yunze at nightfall. A long, winding river flowed from Wei Kingdom through Lan Kingdom. Fengliu couldn't help but stand on the carriage and gaze into the distance—that was Jiujiang. Yunze was like a bright pearl on the banks of Jiujiang, prosperous and rich. Fengliu's mood changed accordingly, like the high blue sky and the tranquil grasslands, fluttering in the evening breeze.

Everyone was somewhat tired from the journey, and they couldn't help but feel happy upon seeing their destination, especially upon seeing the prosperous scene of Yunze City, which added to their anticipation.

"Prepare to enter the city!" the captain of the leading cavalry shouted to the horsemen behind him.

The group straightened their formation and began to advance slowly and orderly. Everything was perfect, and Feng Liu smiled faintly, her eyebrows raised.

Suddenly, a cry of alarm came from the back of the column, and the entire horsemen were thrown into chaos. Feng Liu turned around and saw that Li Tian, who had been slowly following behind the carriage

, had suddenly fallen from his horse. Startled, she quickly jumped down from the carriage as well. The guards driving the carriage were startled but couldn't stop her in time. With a swift movement, she stopped behind the carriage and quickly helped the fallen man to his feet. Nearby, some people had already restrained the frightened horse, and others rushed to fetch the imperial physician.

Li Tian's face was pale and bluish, appearing even more sickly and weak than usual. Yet, even at this moment, he was still stunningly beautiful. Feng Liu gripped his wrist, her expression changing almost instantly.

He took out a life-saving pill from his pocket and put it in Li Tian's mouth. After a while, Li Tian woke up, the blood at the corner of his mouth a shocking shade of red. Feng Liu frowned as he wiped it away. "How is he?"

Li Tian shook his head without speaking, his brow furrowing as well, seemingly disliking being surrounded by so many people.

"Where is the imperial physician?" Feng Liu looked up and around. The imperial physician hurriedly squeezed through the crowd, placing his hand on Li Tian's pulse. Li Tian seemed unwilling, trying to pull his hand away, but Feng Liu held his arm firmly, preventing him from moving

. The imperial physician's expression was even more grim than Li Tian's. He glanced at Li Tian, then at Feng Liu, hesitating to speak. Finally, he whispered to Feng Liu, "Your Majesty, may I speak with you in private?"

Feng Liu glanced at the still weak Li Tian, ordered someone to help him into the carriage to rest, and then followed the imperial physician to the side.

The imperial physician quietly described the patient's condition. Feng Liu waved for him to leave, then stood there alone for a long time, his face unusually pale.

The imperial physician's words were simple: a single phrase, "It's beyond saving," was enough to explain the entire situation. Fengliu, who possessed some medical knowledge, had already sensed it when she took his pulse, yet still clung to a sliver of hope.

How could it have come to this…

He looked somewhat thin and pale…

How could it have happened so suddenly?!

She frowned, then ordered the procession to continue, while she mounted the same horse Li Tian had used, watching the departing carriages, lost in thought.

71. Is there reincarnation?

Jiang Bin and Ye Qing, leading a large entourage, were waiting at the city gate to greet Her Majesty the Queen of Wei's entourage. However, before they could even exchange greetings, Feng Liu, her face ashen, gave the order: "Lead the way back to the palace!"

Ye Qing was surprised and hadn't quite grasped the situation. Jiang Bin, having spent more time with Feng Liu, immediately understood the gravity of the situation and led the entourage through the bustling city center, directly into the newly constructed palace.

Ye Qing, puzzled, asked him, "My sister-in-law doesn't look well. Does she not want to merge?"

It wasn't surprising he overthought things. What emperor wouldn't want to reign forever, especially one who had enjoyed supreme power? Although Ye Qing hadn't spent much time with Feng Liu, he knew her methods. She had taken Wei's women almost without bloodshed; she was no ordinary woman.

Jiang Bin tapped him, "What nonsense are you thinking! Is your sister-in-law that kind of person?! I've heard that Prime Minister Li fainted on the way and needs to go to the palace to find the imperial physician." "

Huh?!" Ye Qing rubbed his head, looking surprised. After a while, he leaned closer, "Which Prime Minister Li?"

"The one you're thinking of!" Jiang Bin rolled his eyes at him and urged his horse to follow behind the main group.

Who would have thought that Ye Qing would get even more excited, "The one who's inseparable from my sister-in-law, Li Tian? The one who made my brother jealous for months?" Just thinking about that incident made Ye Qing find it amusing. His brother was clearly dying of jealousy, unable to eat or sleep properly, just thinking about going to Wei to bring his sister-in-law home.

Every time he heard that his sister-in-law and Prime Minister Li had issued some new measures in Wei, how they had gained the support of the court officials and the love of the people, he would grit his teeth in anger, his face turning ashen. But who would have thought that after some time, news suddenly came that Prime Minister Li had actually castrated himself? No wonder he lived in the palace every day, and no wonder he was inseparable from his sister-in-law.

When Su Han heard the news, his expression turned strange again, and he muttered something like, "You know what's good for you!"

His brothers were overjoyed, but dared not laugh in front of him, which was extremely painful. Unexpectedly, the almost world-famous Prime Minister Li also came to Yunze.

He initially thought that his sister-in-law had come first, leaving him in Wei to control the situation.

Upon arriving at the palace, the group directly sent Li Tian to the East Garden, and then summoned all the imperial physicians of Lan Kingdom, along with the accompanying imperial physicians from Wei Kingdom, to begin a consultation.

When Su Han arrived in high spirits, he saw Feng Liu frowning, standing with a group of people outside the East Garden palace waiting for news.

"Ahem." He coughed twice and walked to her side. Upon seeing him, everyone around knelt and bowed, even addressing him as "Your Majesty, Prince Liu."

After Su Han had everyone rise, he walked to the only woman in the room who hadn't knelt. His expression remained unchanged, but the soft, gentle tone of his voice would have startled anyone who heard it.

They hadn't expected Prince Lan to fawn over his daughter to such an extent. "My darling, you've finally arrived,"

Feng Liu glanced at him, her tone unfriendly. "Be serious! Be careful others hear."

"I don't care about that!" Su Han's face turned cold, and he swept his gaze over the others in the courtyard. They immediately retreated, all wondering why they had inexplicably angered the prince.

"Haven't seen you for half a year, don't you miss me?" Su Han leaned closer, even taking a deep breath, inhaling Feng Liu's fragrance with fascination. Feng Liu, who had been anxious about Li Tian's situation, couldn't help but laugh at his shameless behavior.

"You don't act like a ruler at all!"

"I never wanted to be a ruler in the first place." Su Han felt a headache coming on just thinking about it. He only wanted to be with the woman he loved, but he was forced into this situation, not only conquering Lan Kingdom but also taking over Wei Kingdom.

"If your ministers heard that, they'd be crying."

"I don't care about anyone else, I only care about you."

Perhaps spurred by Li Tian's affair, Su Han became incredibly clingy with her the moment he saw her, practically refusing to let her leave his side.

The consultation results finally came out: the royal physicians of both countries were helpless; the poison had seeped into the bone marrow, and the disease was incurable.

The patient herself showed no will to live whatsoever. The imperial physicians all shook their heads helplessly at Feng Liu. Although Feng Liu already knew the outcome, she couldn't help but sigh. From the initial amazement upon meeting, to their subsequent evenly matched struggles, and now to their mutual support, the help and kindness Li Tian had shown her couldn't be explained in a few words.

Su Han dismissed everyone, then wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. "My darling, birth, aging, sickness, and death are the natural order of things."

Feng Liu remained silent, seemingly listless ever since receiving the news. Su Han lowered his head and gently kissed her cheek. "Everyone has their own destiny. We can't guarantee we'll live to be a hundred, can we?"

Hearing this, Feng Liu was slightly moved, perhaps thinking of their past lives.

"I only thank God for giving me another chance to love you properly."

Feng Liu lowered her head, reaching out to cover his large hand. "Me too."

Su Han kissed her neck, his magnetic voice soft. “We can’t make the decision for him. Perhaps in his heart, death is a relief.”

Although Su Han didn’t know Li Tian, he knew a little about the man. Imprisoned by the King of Wei for half his life, he had suffered so much, enduring until now, probably just wanting to watch the Wei Kingdom perish. He even mutilated his own body. Was it to clear Feng Liu’s name, or because he hated his body afflicted with aphrodisiac?

Perhaps, in his eyes, living was an endless torment.

Feng Liu didn’t know what to say. Even if Li Tian wanted to die, how could others remain indifferent and watch him die like that? The only thing she could do was order all the royal physicians to use the best medicine to prolong his life as much as possible.

The establishment of the Liu Kingdom was now on a countdown. The construction of the new palace was not yet fully completed, but the completed hall looked magnificent and imposing.

Feng Liu sat by Li Tian's bedside, describing the decorations of the main hall to him, and then told him, "When you can get out of bed, I'll take you to see it."

Li Tian was so thin he was almost skin and bones, his face a deathly pale gray. "Maybe I won't be able to see it."

"Nonsense! Don't you want to witness the fall of Wei with your own eyes? Tomorrow is the founding ceremony, I'll have someone push you to see it! Okay?" Feng Liu held the medicine, feeding Li Tian spoonful by spoonful.

Li Tian's body was completely failing; he would vomit up the medicine as soon as he drank it. But Feng Liu didn't give up, still insisting on coming to feed him medicine every day, three times a day, without missing a single time, and never asking anyone else to do it for him.

Li Tian slightly tugged at the corners of his mouth, as if he wanted to smile, but as soon as he moved, he coughed violently. Feng Liu quickly put down the bowl and gently patted his thin, bony back. "Did you choke? Come on, don't rush, cough slowly."

After he finished coughing, he looked at the scroll and saw another bright red stain. Li Tian's lips were still streaked with blood, but he still managed a forced smile. "Look... I'm no longer capable..."

"Nonsense! You still have to watch me have children! You said it yourself, you even want to be my son's godfather, don't you?!"

Li Tian nodded and smiled. "I'd like to, but I'm afraid..."

"Pah! I'm not afraid, if you can't do it, I won't want to talk to you in this life or the next."

Li Tian smiled bitterly. "You're threatening me again..."

"Hmph, good to know. First, finish your medicine, and don't vomit!"

That night, Li Tian drank all the medicine in Feng Liu's bowl without vomiting. When he went to sleep, his complexion was slightly better, which relieved Feng Liu somewhat. Several imperial physicians also said that the joy of the founding ceremony had probably dispelled the illness.

The next morning, Feng Liu ordered people to carry Li Tian from the bed to a soft couch, and then several guards carried him to the side of the main hall. Li Tian lay weakly on the couch, covered with a thick quilt. The sky was clear that day, and all the officials of Wei and Lan were kneeling below the main hall. Su Han, dressed in a dragon robe, stood at the highest point of the hall.

Feng Liu stood to his left and below him, and Jiang Bin stood before the officials, loudly proclaiming the achievements of the two emperors.

Su Han turned his head to look at Feng Liu, and Feng Liu looked back at him with a faint smile. The two were perfectly in sync, standing together like gods from the heavens, noble and dazzling.

Li Tian lay on the soft couch, listening to the passionate cheers from the mountains, his eyes fixed on the dazzling couple on the high platform, then closed his eyes contentedly.

After the founding ceremony, the whole country celebrated for three months. All taxes were halved, and many beneficial measures were promulgated.

While everyone was immersed in the joy of this prosperous era, no one knew that within the palace, all was white. The new king, dressed in mourning clothes, stood beside a woman also dressed in white, burning paper money for the memorial tablets in the mourning hall.

"Do you think reincarnation truly exists?"

the man murmured softly. "If you and I can both be resurrected, reborn in another world, what else is impossible?"

"Then, I hope he won't suffer like this in his next life,"

the man said softly, pulling the woman into his arms. "Of course, after hardship comes happiness."

"In the next life, he will find true happiness and stay with the one he loves for life."

"He definitely will."

The ashes of the paper money in the silver basin were swept up by a gust of wind and scattered far into the sky, as if the gods in the heavens had heard their hopes. Feng Liu buried his head in Su Han's arms, holding his love of this life tightly.

72. After the founding

ceremony of the new kingdom, the Lan Kingdom and the Wei Kingdom became history, and the new Liu Kingdom was established on the land of the two countries.

The court promulgated a series of policies that benefited the country and its people, and for a time the whole country was thriving and prosperous. Su Han and Su Liu were very satisfied, but there was one thing that both of them had a headache about, and that was the appointment of an empress.

Many officials in the court began to submit memorials, urging the new king to take in more concubines and have children as soon as possible so that there would be an heir.

Su Han had only ever wanted to marry one woman, yet he couldn't openly and publicly marry her, causing him sleepless nights.

Inside the emperor's bedchamber, Feng Liu lay on Su Han's chest. They had just shared a passionate lovemaking session, the air thick with the scent of desire. Su Han held her, his brow still slightly furrowed.

Feng Liu smoothed his brow with her fingers. "Still worried about the empress?"

"Not only that, they also want to expand the harem." This was Su Han's biggest headache. With the new empire established, the ministers were all scheming to send their daughters into the harem, hoping to gain the emperor's favor and, ideally, bear him an heir. This would not only ensure the throne's succession but also solidify the position of the empress's family.

Su Han wasn't unaware of their intentions, but every time he refused, new memorials would arrive within days.

As a normal man in his early thirties, even without a harem, if he had no women by his side, the rumors wouldn't be very pleasant. If it weren't for Su Han having a daughter, many people would probably doubt his sexual prowess.

"Then let's make it official," Feng Liu said casually.

Su Han immediately got angry, flipped over and pinned the woman beneath him, biting her shoulder.

"Ah! You're a dog!" Feng Liu couldn't help but yell, angrily clutching her shoulder, extremely displeased. Then, with another force, she pinned Su Han down again, lowered her head, and bit him hard in return on the chest.

Su Han groaned, looked down at the bruises on his chest, some places bleeding, and couldn't help but sigh. "Indeed, the most poisonous heart is a woman's; that was a really hard bite."

Feng Liu glanced at it, licked it with her tongue, and then blew on it twice.

Touching his handsome face, she coaxed, "What do you know? This is just you stamping my name. On the surface, this belongs to me."

Sure enough, these words pleased Su Han, who couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. "Then why did you just tell me to make an empress?"

"Of course you have to. If you don't, do you think those ministers will let you off the hook?"

"You know the only one I want to marry is you!" Su Han was getting angry again, even to the point of speaking recklessly. "I don't care about being emperor anymore. Let's find a place and just live in seclusion."

Fengliu laughed after hearing this, then leaned over and, seemingly affectionately but actually quite mischievously, began to rub Su Han's handsome face.

"My little darling is so good! Here's a kiss!" She then leaned in and pecked him.

Su Han was very unhappy with her childlike actions, his neck turning red as he declared his identity. "Don't forget I'm your father."

"Yes, yes, how could I forget? If it weren't for that, would I still need to sneak around in your palace? You should have married me with a grand wedding procession long ago."

Upon hearing this, Su Han immediately fell silent again, probably feeling sorry for Feng Liu, and his face turned quite ugly.

"Alright, stop putting on that icy face." Feng Liu's devilish hands continued to torment the emperor's handsome face, then he said with a grin, "Have you forgotten that I had a backup plan back then?"

Seeing Feng Liu's raised eyebrows and confident, mischievous look, Su Han couldn't help but get excited. "What?"

"Father, have you forgotten that you have a beloved concubine in Jiujiang?"

Su Han's eyes lit up, and he suddenly remembered. When the marriage was arranged, to create the illusion that Princess Su Liu had been kidnapped, Feng Liu was disguised as a favored concubine by his side. Although rumors circulated that this Feng Liu was a handsome young man, no one could truly say for sure whether he was male or female; it was up to them to decide.

"So you had a plan all along, but

you kept quiet, just wanting to see me in a state of panic, didn't you!" With a weight lifted from Su Han's heart, he immediately thought of Feng Liu's recent sly smiles as he watched him struggle. He couldn't help but bring up the past, and even acted on his impulse, once again flipping over and pinning the other beneath him, spreading her jade-like legs, and thrusting his hips, his erect and thick member plunged into her slippery flower cave.

Feng Liu frowned slightly, "Really, so rude!"

"You'll feel good later!" Su Han smirked mischievously, his hips galloping like a wild horse.

Fengliu, her long, fair neck arched, wrapped her arms around his shoulders, and let out a low, husky moan. Her voice was exceptionally sweet

and alluring, making the man on top of her even more unable to control himself. His thick, massive member thrust rapidly in and out of her tender opening, the two crimson petals squeezed and engorged with blood, their color as captivating as a blooming peony, alluring and fragrant.

"Han, so good..." Fengliu twisted her waist vigorously, meeting his thrusts.

Su Han gripped her waist tightly, pushing in with a reckless, almost irrational force, muttering, "Little vixen, you're going to seduce me to death." Her

two jade-like legs wrapped tightly around the man's waist, tightening with each withdrawal, urging the next attack. The man let out a beast-like growl, completely lost in this storm of lovemaking.

Since finding a solution, Su Han's expression was no longer so grim. He even brought up the matter of establishing an empress in court. He used a string of high-sounding arguments—his beloved concubine's years of unwavering companionship, her role in pacifying the army and sharing his burdens, and the inextricable link between the establishment of the Liu Kingdom and her contributions—to disregard the opinions of his ministers and directly announce that she would be made empress, with no room for objection.

Su Han, after all, was an emperor forged on the battlefield; his imposing aura, even without anger, silenced the ministers, who dared not voice any dissent and silently accepted his decision.

However, Su Han's joy was short-lived. He suddenly received a letter of surrender from Su Jingtian. When the Lan Kingdom was destroyed and he ascended the throne, some of the Lan Kingdom's key generals, along with their troops, vowed to protect Su Jingtian as he fled. Su Han had considered exterminating them, but at the time, his mind was solely focused on bringing Fengliu back.

Then came the fall of the Wei Kingdom, followed by the unification of the two kingdoms; too many things had left him little time for anything else. Moreover, after Su Jingtian and his group went into hiding, they remained quite well-behaved.

After all, the Lan Kingdom was completely destroyed, leaving only the Liu Kingdom. Su Han didn't think Su Jingtian could cause much trouble with such a small force; however, seeing that the surrender document stated he would personally speak with Su Liu filled her with extreme displeasure.

So when Feng Liu brought pastries to the Imperial Study to visit, she saw Su Han's face full of anger, throwing a memorial far away. She picked it up suspiciously, glanced at it, and then smiled, pursing her lips.

"Alright, what's there to be angry about? Try some pastries I made myself."

Su Han's face was cold, still displeased. "You want to see him, don't you?! Let me tell you, don't even think about it! I'll send troops to wipe him out right now!" Unexpectedly, the more she spoke, the angrier she became, even slamming her hand on the table and standing up abruptly.

"Who does he think he is? A crown prince of a fallen kingdom, daring to negotiate with me! What right does he have!"

Feng Liu walked over, wrapped his arms around Su Han's waist from behind, and coaxed him like a kitten, gently stroking him while softly agreeing, "He's just a little brat,

don't take it to heart." "Hmph!" Su Han's anger subsided slightly, but his face was still ashen. "He wants to see you alone, he must still have hope!"

"Alright, alright, don't be angry." Feng Liu continued to appease the irritated tiger, "Even if he has that desire, it doesn't matter, I'm already yours. Be good, why get angry with an outsider."

These words indeed struck a chord with Su Han. Feng Liu was already his, and Su Jingtian was just an outsider. Thinking this way, his anger indeed dissipated a lot, and his expression improved.

Fengliu quickly picked up a pastry and brought it to his lips. "Han, try this pastry I made. I made it for you myself."

The word "made it myself" made Su Han feel a little envious. He opened his mouth, took a bite, and smiled slightly. "Delicious."

"Then eat more." Fengliu fed him another bite.

The guards outside the door, who were trembling with fear, couldn't help but have strange expressions. Every time the king lost his temper, as long as His Majesty the princess appeared, even the greatest anger would not be able to be vented. A furious tiger was thus turned into a kitten.

Apart from meowing, he couldn't make a fuss at all. Even if he scratched a couple of times, he seemed so weak.

Although Su Han was very unwilling, in the end, Fengliu still met with Su Jingtian.

The two agreed to meet in the pavilion in the garden. Su Han was worried and specially arranged for eight maids to guard outside the pavilion. Fengliu was helpless with his petty behavior, but also felt warm and sweet. The guy's jealous look was quite cute.

"You've changed a lot." These were Su Jingtian's first words upon meeting her. His eyes looked much more weathered than before, likely from the many things he had experienced.

Feng Liu smiled slightly, picking up a piece of pastry and slowly eating it. "Oh? You've changed too."

"Yes, I've changed too." Su Jingtian smiled self-deprecatingly, looking at the alluring and stunningly beautiful woman before him, almost impossible to look away from. He recalled the pretty girl he once was, and suddenly felt that some things were gone forever.

"You've become even more beautiful, Liu'er. Is he good to you?"

Feng Liu raised an eyebrow. "What do you think?"

Su Jingtian smiled bitterly. Of course he was good to her; that's why she had grown so beautiful, more radiant than the sun.

"What about Su Jingxin?" Feng Liu didn't really want to say much to Su Jingtian. He and she could never be together from the beginning; he had understood this long ago, but he had refused to admit it.

Su Jingtian's expression changed instantly, his smile becoming incredibly desolate.

"Didn't he tell you? Of the five brothers, only I'm left."

Ah?! Feng Liu truly didn't know this. Although she wasn't particularly close to those princes, they had studied together under the same teacher in their youth, and those children had even jointly petitioned for marriage—a momentous event that caused a sensation throughout the land.

But now, of the five, only one remained…

"He…" Thinking of that persistent man, whom she had so harshly rejected, even forcing him to leave. It felt like only yesterday. Feng Liu couldn't help but lower her eyes, realizing this was the last time they would see each other.

Su Jingtian's voice sounded somewhat dazed, "Jingxin secretly stole Father's military report and then managed to deliver it to Uncle. In the end, Father suffered a crushing defeat, and in his extreme anger…"

"He killed Jingxin?!" Feng Liu stood up in disbelief.

That Su Ling had actually killed his most beloved son! How could he be so heartless as to kill his own son!

In that instant, Feng Liu only thought of digging Su Ling out of his grave and whipping his corpse.

73. A Lifetime of One Love, One Pair

: Su Jingtian and Feng Liu finished their conversation. Through the servants' surveillance, Su Han learned the entire content of their dialogue. Su Jingtian was clever; he knew he and Su Liu could never go back to the way things were.

Even if he still loved her, he wouldn't express it openly, or perhaps he had lost power—a huge blow for a man—so he felt he no longer had the right to compete.

Feng Liu's behavior was more agreeable; from beginning to end, there were no hints or expressions of affection, except for towards Su Jingxin, where Feng Liu seemed to feel a deep sense of indebtedness. Speaking of that person, even Su Han felt a pang of guilt. That child clearly hated him, yet still helped him defeat several waves of Su Ling's army.

He betrayed his country, betrayed his father, all for a woman.

Su Jingxin earned Su Han's respect. Although he couldn't save him in time, Su Han gave him a state funeral, burying him in the royal mausoleum of Lan Kingdom. However, he kept this a secret, afraid of upsetting Feng Liu.

What she feared even more was that this person, through such methods, would leave a permanent mark on Fengliu's heart.

When Fengliu returned that night, Suhan stood silently by the window, refusing to let anyone light a lamp. He stood there in the dark, looking exceptionally lonely. Fengliu's heart tightened, and she couldn't help but hug him from behind, resting her head on his back, and gently asking, "Baby, what's wrong?"

"Nothing." Suhan held her hand, not wanting to speak, but his expression was still very sad and lonely.

Fengliu smiled, "The moonlight is nice tonight, let's go for a walk in the garden..."

After saying that, she pulled Suhan directly into the garden. Although Suhan wasn't in the mood, he still let Fengliu drag him through the garden. When they reached the pavilion in the garden, Fengliu directly pressed him down to sit on the bench, and then climbed onto his lap to sit down.

This pavilion was the same one where Feng Liu and Su Jingtian met at noon. Su Han's expression turned even more grim, but he also sensed that Feng Liu seemed to want to say something to him, and he had a vague sense of foreboding.

"Han, we need to talk."

Sure enough, she arrived. Su Han's face was ashen, his dark eyes fixed on Feng Liu.

Feng Liu leaned against him. "No one knows better than us how difficult it has been for us to be together, right?"

Su Han nodded. "I can't live without you." He spoke these words before she could, afraid that what she said wouldn't be acceptable to him, even more afraid of hearing heartbreaking words. In front of her, he was never a high and mighty emperor, just an ordinary man tormented by love.

Feng Liu was stunned, then smiled. This unexpected surprise made her heart flutter with sweetness.

"And then?" She suddenly decided against a direct confrontation, instead asking curiously.

Su Han wanted to tear his heart out for her to see. "I know I have many flaws, I know I haven't done enough for you, and I know they've always loved you, but..."

Su Han grasped Feng Liu's hand, "I will change. I've been trying very hard to learn how to make you happy, how to make you happy."

"I know." Feng Liu leaned on his shoulder, her smile deepening.

“But I always feel like you could leave me at any moment. You’re like a gust of wind, I can’t hold onto you no matter what.”

Su Han said with utter frustration, his face contorted with pain and his tone filled with distress.

Feng Liu knew he must be troubled by the conversation that afternoon. He minded it deeply, yet he had no choice but to let Feng Liu meet with Su Jingtian. After the meeting, he started overthinking again.

“Baby, you’ve caught me. Even if you’re a gust of wind, it’s only one that lingers around you.”

“But I’m so uneasy…” Su Han told Feng Liu so frankly for the first time. He held her small hand to his chest, where his heart was pounding rapidly. “My heart is so uneasy.”

Feng Liu leaned against his chest and reached out to embrace the man. “Whether it’s Su Jingtian, Su Jingxin, or Wei Xi, Li Tian, Jiang Bin…” Hearing those familiar names, Su Han’s face grew increasingly grim, his breath icy cold enough to freeze a person.

“I’ve never cared about those people. My heart can only hold one person. For that person, I would forge my heart into a diamond.” Feng Liu smiled, her eyes full of tenderness.

Su Han was slightly taken aback, then realized what she meant and hugged her tightly. “Actually, I know…”

He should know best how Feng Liu felt about those people, but knowing was one thing, he was afraid of any possibility. He couldn’t afford to gamble; he was terrified.

Knowing that this guy couldn’t understand right away, Feng Liu simply took action, tearing open his collar and nimbly slipping her slender hands inside, roaming over his chest.

Su Han was stunned for a moment. “What’s wrong…” He had barely finished asking when he couldn’t help but gasp. The enchantress had grabbed his manhood; her hands were incredibly skillful, and in no time, he couldn’t help but surrender and become erect.

“Little darling, don’t do anything rash…” Su Han cautiously glanced outside; the area around the pavilion was eerily quiet.

Fengliu smiled, wrapped her arms around his neck, and leaned in to kiss him. "Don't worry, the guards are watching over you."

Then she pulled down his pants, releasing Su Han's fiery, massive member. Fengliu caressed it lovingly, her smile incredibly alluring, before straddling his lap.

"You..." Su Han couldn't help but glare at her, but the next moment he let out a satisfied groan. The massive heat felt wonderfully comforting, but damn it, this enchantress wasn't wearing anything under her skirt!

Before he could say another word, Fengliu began to move on top of him, thrusting and sitting down repeatedly, moaning comfortably, "So good..."

"You're trying to seduce me to death!" Su Han couldn't help but grab her waist, seizing control. Her

strong waist thrust repeatedly, making Fengliu tremble with pleasure. She buried her face in his chest and smiled, saying, "In this world... only you can..."

Su Han looked down at her, and she groaned twice, forcing herself to finish. "Let me...be so proactive..."

"My little darling, my little darling." Su Han felt a surge of heat after hearing this, unable to control his emotions. He held her tightly, his movements becoming even more frenzied, kissing the back of her head with intense passion.

Feng Liu was almost driven to the brink of madness by him, clinging to his neck and moaning sweetly, completely lost in the moment.

When the passion finally subsided, she went limp in his arms, not wanting to move at all, as docile as a kitten. Su Han held her, carefully coaxing her, "Are you feeling uncomfortable? I was too rough just now."

"It's numb..." she complained sweetly, then used her sharp teeth to bite his jaw. He indulged her with pampering, even lowering his head to make it easier for her to bite.

It was getting late, and the Imperial Garden was rather cold at night. He was afraid she would catch a cold. He decided to take her back to the palace quickly, but she started to act spoiled, insisting that he carry her on his back.

Su Han smiled and went along with her wishes. Feng Liu climbed onto his broad back and said sweetly, "That time I was injured, you carried me out of the jungle like this. But it was hard on you, since you hated me so much back then, yet you still carried me all night. Several times I thought you couldn't take it anymore and would just throw me on the ground..."

Su Han frowned, quite dissatisfied with her saying 'hated me so much,' but that was indeed how he had acted back then, and he couldn't refute it, so he could only sullenly. "Back then, you kept twisting and turning on my back, and I wasn't..."

"What?" Feng Liu raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Were you seduced by that vixen back then?"

Su Han lowered his head and didn't speak, his obvious acquiescence making Feng Liu smug. Then she started moving around behind him, constantly rubbing her body against his sensitive spots and breathing into his ear. "Was that right?"

"When we get back, I'll see how I deal with you!" Su Han finally couldn't help but narrow his eyes and warn the restless vixen behind him.

Fengliu wasn't nervous at all; instead, she smiled with unusual charm, even a hint of smugness.

"But the imperial physician said I need to control my sexual activity, I can't tire myself out..."

"What's wrong, little darling? Are you sick?" Su Han asked anxiously.

Fengliu leaned close to his ear, "Baby, I'm pregnant. Now, can you relax?"

Su Han froze, standing there motionless for a long time, still not quite recovered. Then Fengliu, somewhat annoyed, tugged at his ear, "What?! Don't want to take responsibility? I'm telling you, no way!"

"Hey! Why are you running so fast all of a sudden?!"

Su Han said anxiously, "Won't I hurt the baby if I ran so hard just now?"

"Don't worry, I don't feel any discomfort. But if you keep running this fast, I'm going to get dizzy."

Then Su Han quickly slowed down, walking carefully, his face shifting between satisfaction, surprise, worry, and guilt.

"Fool, if you feel guilty, you'll have to treat us, mother and child, well from now on!"

Su Han nodded solemnly. He did feel guilty because he had been so busy with anxiety and jealousy that he hadn't even noticed any changes in his darling's body, and he wasn't even the first to discover that she was pregnant.

But now he was starting to worry about other things: how Feng Liu could rightfully become Empress and then openly give birth to a prince.

Feng Liu smiled, not worried at all, and even kindly comforted him when she saw how troubled he was. "Don't worry, I've already made arrangements. Princess Liuyun will go to Jiujiang to observe the floods, and then encounter danger and disappear on the way. As for the Empress, we'll see when His Majesty has time to marry her into the palace."

Su Han's face lit up with joy, and he hurriedly said, "I'll arrange it right away, but you have to take care of yourself and don't overwork yourself."

Feng Liu nodded obediently, then listened to Su Han rambling on about where the wedding would be held, what ceremonies would be involved, what kind of decorations would be used, and so on...

A happy smile graced her face as she listened to this man paint the most beautiful future for her. A casual glance caught sight of a dark figure standing quietly behind a thicket of trees.

This place was closest to Bai Zhi Courtyard, and it seemed the distinguished guest who had entered the palace today was staying there. Feng Liu immediately knew who it was.

However, she had no interest in anyone other than Su Han. Seeing that Su Han hadn't noticed her yet, and remembering that Su Han was jealous today because she had met with Su Jingtian, she gently put her arm around his neck and softly said,

"Baby, let me sing you a song."

Su Han also smiled slightly and nodded gently.

You ask me how deep my love is,

how much I love you.

My feelings are true,

my love is true,

the moon represents my heart

Feng Liu’s voice was clear and alluring, Su Han’s voice was deep and magnetic. The two voices intertwined, as if they were a match made in heaven, so harmonious and beautiful.

Su Jingtian slowly walked out from under the tree, watching the two sing a song together, and then slowly walk away.

He watched quietly, watched, until their figures disappeared completely.

They loved each other so deeply.

That was what he had always longed for but could not obtain, a lifelong, one-on-one relationship.

Liu’er, you will always be happy, won’t you…
